Draca Malfoid

Draca is a slender girl with sleek long white-blond hair with loose, flowing strands, sharp cold grey eyes, and a pale complexion. She wears a standard Slytherin Hogwarts robe over a gray sweater vest with the Slytherin logo on the right that’s over a white collared shirt, a green-and-silver tie tucked behind the sweater vest, a pleated gray skirt, dark mid thigh tights, and small black hooped earrings.

Draca was very capable of shutting down emotion, compartmentalising, and denying essential parts of herself. This trait is evident in her later success in Occlumency. But the denial of pain and the suppression of inner conflict would only lead to a more damaged person, who was more likely to inflict damage on others. Much of Draca's behaviour at school was modelled on the most impressive person she knew: her father, and she faithfully copied Lucius's cold and contemptuous manner to everyone outside her inner circle. She had shut down her pity, which enabled her to bully effectively.

Draca was, in general, an arrogant, spiteful bully for most of her early years. Like Dudley Dursley, her narcissistic nature stemmed from being raised as a pampered only daughter indoctrinated with her parents' beliefs, though according to Harry himself, Draca was even less sympathetic than her cousin. She believed herself superior to most people because of her family's pure-blood lineage as well as great wealth and social standing. She frequently behaved cruelly to Muggle-borns, blood traitors, Gryffindor students, and anyone who was a supporter of Harry Potter or Albus Dumbledore. For much of her youth, Draca took after her bigoted father, Lucius Malfoy, as a role model, and frequently boasted about her family's influence and wealth.

Draca is intelligent, cunning and quick-witted, capable of deducing things and coming up with clever plans based on a small amount of information; her father had expected her to obtain top marks in school after her first year, and showed disappointment that Hermione beat her. She figured out through Montague's experience that the Vanishing Cabinets in Hogwarts and Borgin and Burkes were linked and that she could use that passage to her advantage. However, her plans could have limitations based on her own arrogance when dealing with people. When she attempted to sabotage Harry during the Gryffindor-Ravenclaw Quidditch match in their third year, her whole plan was based solely around the idea that the Dementors' appearance scared Harry, ignorant of the fact that it was the effect the Dementors had on her that caused Harry problems.

She also craved recognition and wanted to be seen as important, often boasting or performing for attention. As someone raised to believe in her own superiority, Draca was envious of Harry's fame and his Quidditch skills, and was upset when Death Eaters saw her school arch-rival Harry as such an important threat and a hated symbol but only saw Draca as a child they often met at her parents' house. This would also later show in her last meeting with Dumbledore, as a stressed out Draca felt comforted at receiving praise even from someone she had been raised to hate and ordered to kill.

Draca is popular among Slytherin students, often seen surrounded by or sometimes entertaining a large crowd. Despite this, she envied Harry for his friendships with Ron and Hermione, as his relationship with his own constant companions—Crabbe and Goyle—lacked intimacy. That did not mean Draca did not care for her friends, as she showed genuine care for them on several occasions, and would even later risk her own life in an attempt to save them.

For most of her early life, Draca had moral cowardice, but was not 'wholly bad'. A metaphor for this was that her name came from the dragon constellation, while her wand core was of unicorn — which was symbolic of some unextinguished good at the heart of Draca.
