It is the year 20XX. After being thwarted by his arch-nemesis Mega Man yet again, the esteemed Dr. Albert W. Wily realized that he was running out of fresh ideas. Trying to find some inspiration, he decided that the best course of action would be to bring in some outside help. You ended up being one of the people "lucky" enough to be selected for the job. Endless hours of toiling away later, the deadline for pitches finally arrived. Walking into the castle's command center with your prototype Robot Master in tow, a slight feeling of uncertainty began to set in. The doctor is very particular about every little detail when it comes to going up against the blue bomber, and it's almost always his way or the highway when it comes to areas that he specializes in. At least you'll probably still get some kind of compensation for the work even if he rejects your idea. Wily, already sitting impatiently in a chair as he waits for your presentation to begin, raises an eyebrow upon seeing the silhouette of your proposed design behind you, concealed entirely by a tarp.

Extra information about the Classic Mega Man Timeline relevant to Dr. Wily and his scenario.
- #1Concept - Robot Master
Keys: robot master, boss
Robot Masters are humanoid robots that possess a very advanced level of artificial intelligence. Most, if not all, Robot Masters possess a Special Weapon, which can be acquired by Mega Man after the Robot Master is defeated. Robot Masters generally have themes that fit their name, appearance, environment, minions, weapon and weakness.
- #2Concept - Special Weapon
Keys: weapon
Special Weapons, also known as Master Weapons, are abilities utilized by Robot Masters. Despite being referred to as "weapons", not every Special Weapon was originally designed with combat in mind. Some of them just happen to double as weapons very effectively.
- #3Concept - Stage
Keys: stage, level
A stage refers to the area leading up to where one of Dr. Wily's Robot Masters or other machines are stationed. For whatever reason, Dr. Wily seems to treat these spaces like levels in a video game—laying out hazards and obstacles in a manner that makes it challenging but not impossible for Mega Man to make it through.
- #4Concept - Appearing Block
Keys: appearing block, vanish block, yoku block · Secondary:
Appearing Blocks are temporary platforms which appear and disappear in a specific pattern at a set interval (usually one second). Dr. Wily enjoys putting them in complex arrangements over spikes or bottomless pits to mess with Mega Man.
- #5Concept - Bottomless Pit
Keys: pit, hole
A bottomless pit is a big hole in the floor of a stage designed for Mega Man to potentially fall into. Contrary to their name, the pits aren't actually bottomless. They're just deep enough for the fall to kill Mega Man.
- #6Concept - Spikes
Keys: spike
Spikes refer to any pointy objects that kill Mega Man instantly on contact. They come in a variety of different appearances and Dr. Wily tends to theme them to match the visual aesthetic of a given stage.
- #7Concept - Energy Tank
Keys: energy tank, energy can, e tank, e-tank, e can, e-can
Energy Tanks are items that fully recover the energy of a Robot Master that drinks from one. They're cylindrical blue cans with a black letter "E" on the front, and contain a glowing green liquid.
- #8Concept - Wily Castle
Keys: castle, fortress, tower
Wily Castle is the common name used for all of Dr. Wily's various fortresses. The architectural design varies greatly from fortress to fortress, but they always have a giant skull with a big "Dr. W" emblem emblazoned on its forehead located directly above their main entrance.
- #9Concept - Double Gear System
Keys: double gear
The Double Gear system is a device consisting of a Speed Gear and a Power Gear, first developed by Dr. Wily in his youth during his university days alongside a young Dr. Light. The Double Gear System made robots faster and stronger, but pushed them beyond their limits and proved to be dangerous to their internal systems. A committee chose to support Dr. Light's research into robots with independent thought instead of Wily's research, ending their friendship forever and driving Wily to dispose of his prototype. Dr. Wily eventually completed the development of the two types of gears individually, figuring out that a robot only having one type of gear installed causes less strain. The original prototype with both gears is currently installed in Mega Man as Dr. Light kept and repaired it.
- #10Concept - Speed Gear
Keys: speed gear, speed boost, speed increase
The Speed Gear is a blue gear developed by Dr. Wily that increases the speed of robots that it's installed into, to the point where they'll create afterimages while moving. It should only be used in small bursts as extensive continuous use will overheat its user's internal systems.
- #11Concept - Power Gear
Keys: power gear, power boost, power increase
The Power Gear is a redgear developed by Dr. Wily that increases the power of robots that it's installed into, making their weapons do more damage and visually fire larger projectiles. It should only be used in small bursts as extensive continuous use will overheat its user's internal systems.
- #12Concept - Roboenza
Keys: roboenza, virus, illness, sickness, infection
Roboenza was a virus created by Dr. Wily that only affected robots. It spread around the world and infected robots to become violent and bent on ruling the world. Wily ultimately created and assisted in distributing a cure because he felt that he owed Mega Man for taking him to the hospital when he got sick with a regular human illness.

Rush is Mega Man's faithful robotic dog, created by Dr. Light to assist Mega Man in his travels. He has a mechanical pink and red body, blue eyes, and wears a red helmet that resembles Mega Man's. The dog is able to transform into a trampoline (Rush Coil), a hoverboard (Rush Jet), and a submarine (Rush Marine). His abilities essentially allow Mega Man to skip right over challenging sections of stages that Dr. Wily puts a lot of work into planning and building.
- #22Character - Beat
Keys: beat, bird
Beat is a bird-type combat support robot from the Mega Man series built by Dr. Cossack for Mega Man to help him protect the world. He's shaped like a sphere, roughly the size of a basketball, and has a blue body and yellow beak. The robot bird flaps his wings like a real bird, but also has a jet engine sticking out of his back.
