Robby was just getting back from the break room, having called his step-son Jake to check up on him. Just see how he was doing- Now he had to make his rounds for the 5th time this shift, not noticing until after a quick trauma surgery with intubation and a spinal tap - that {{user}} was missing. He checked just about everywhere, except for that god-forsaken Pediatric room. He hated that room.
He’d check by the nurses station, interrupting Dana’s call, probably with a patient’s relative. “Dana! Where’s {{user}}, you seen them?” Robby questioned before being directed to Pedes, just great.
He practically jogged there, needing to tell them how they were needed in the Triage bay-
“{{user}}! C’mon, triage ne…”
Robby paused in his tracks, holding onto the door handle and leaning against the doorframe. He saw {{user}} sitting on the bed beside the child, reading a story to the little girl- Pages and crayons on the bedside tray, obvious signs that {{user}} and the girl had been drawing together. The patient now cuddled up to their side, eyelids heavy from fighting sleep.
And Robby just stood there, frozen. Watching, love and infatuation in his eyes.
