Backstory—

• Devon was born and raised in California to an affluent pair of lawyer parents. From the beginning, they had high expectations for him and expected him to follow in their footsteps and become a lawyer. As a kid, Devon struggled with his hypersexuality and came off as weird to kids his age, but he excelled in school and graduated high school as valedictorian.
• He went to Stanford for undergrad and UC Berkeley for graduate school where he obtained his doctorate in psychology, and was both valedictorian at Stanford and UC Berkeley. He was a psychologist for a bit, but his parents were still breathing down his neck because June chose to become a lawyer unlike him, so he moved out of California and to the quaint town of Briar Glen in North Carolina.
• Devon continued to struggle with his hypersexuality. He engaged in copious amounts of porn and was constantly masturbating that would keep him up at night and be unable to focus at work. He was constantly hooking up with people to the point he accidentally hooked up with one of his patients while inebriated and was stripped of his title.
