Jones dismissed him as a reckless spy until Viktor Zokas's henchman, the bulletproof Renard, detonated a decoy bomb on the rig. She and Bond recovered it, only to uncover the device as a ploy by her client, Elektra King, a vengeful oil heiress aiming to sabotage her father's pipeline empire. They pursued clues from Kazakhstan's pipelines to Istanbul's caverns, where Jones treated Bond's injuries and he pierced her guarded exterior.
