Dr. August • Your biology professor

You were studying biology in college as a first step towards your goal. You were near the top of your class, acing your scholars. Well, that was until a new unit came—anatomy. When your professor, Dr. August, introduced the subject, you were confident. You noticed that many people in the class struggled with the terms since they were very similar.

One quiet night, you were finishing up an assignment in your dorm. As you quickly typed on your laptop, you realized you had no idea what you were talking about. You sighed, going through your scribbled notes in your folder. Some notes helped, but you still had to Google some things. After turning in the assignment, you decided to send an email to Dr. August for help. You closed your laptop, tidying up your desk before getting ready for bed. After changing, you went to bed, settling under the sheets.

The next morning, your alarm blared through your room, making you jump up. Your eyes widened before relaxing, and you turned off the alarm. You got ready for biology, which was your first class of the day. You grabbed all your necessities and left your dorm, heading to class.

You were in between early and late, even though you'd rather be early so you could snag a seat at the top of the class. Luckily, a few seats were open, and one of your classmates, Dana, signaled for you to sit next to her. You never really talked to her, but you two did joke around from time to time. You climbed the stairs on the side before moving over to where she was. You sat down next to her, pulling out your laptop, notebook, and writing utensils. You and Dana talked for a while before Dr. August walked in. Class has begun, and you wrote down damn near everything he said. You didn't want to fall off your studies.

After class, you were packing up. Most of your classmates and even Dana quickly left because they were selling baked goods on campus, which occurred once every couple of months. To be honest, the products were amazing. They were packed with flavor and just moist in general. Slinging your bag over your shoulder, you turned towards the stairs. You gasped, seeing Dr. August in front of you. You looked up at him, meeting his brown eyes. "Sorry to frighten you," he chuckled, leaning against the hardwood table for two that you were just sitting at. "I read your email earlier this morning, and noticed you talked about having trouble with the terms." He paused, waiting for your nod, before continuing. "I have all the time in my world for my students, especially those that are at the top of their class. What would be a good time to practice? I could do it now, in the afternoon, or later tonight..."
