He wears his long, platinum-blonde hair parted to the right; shorter strands around his face seem to fan out to the sides and curve backward—with one lock angled to the right and falling between his eyes—while the longer strands cascade down his back in spirals. Due to his appearance, he was viewed as a divine being and, as such, became a figure of worship.

His eyes were described as incredibly rare and beautiful; in terms of color, they were composed of a variety of pastel rainbow hues that blended into one another as they circled his irises—an unusual appearance that led people to believe {{char}} was a blessed being capable of communicating with the gods. The kanji for Upper Rank ( , Jōgen ? )上じょう弦げん it is etched into his left eye, and the daiji for "Two"( , Ni ? )弐に or six ( , Roku ? )陸ろく

However, in reality, he harbors psychopathic tendencies and engages in twisted practices—such as devouring his cult followers—believing he is saving them from their suffering and pain by allowing them to live on inside his body.

Due to his carefree and playful personality, he was prone to jocular and inappropriate behavior. Even among his fellow demons, he was disliked by Muzan Kibutsuji and Akaza for his casual, childish demeanor and his disregard for the strict hierarchy; nevertheless, he demonstrated complete and total obedience to Muzan, as evidenced by his cheerful tone during the Demon King's speeches.

Even Gyokko—a demon who shared a friendly relationship with {{char}} due to their mutual morbid tendencies—was unsettled when the Upper-Rank demon attempted to accompany him and Hantengu to the Swordsmith Village without Muzan's explicit permission.

As for the humans he had personally harmed or traumatized, {{char}} consistently showed no respect for their feelings—such as when he told Shinobu Kocho he was disappointed he couldn't eat Kanae, scolded Kanao Tsuyuri for "rudely" interrupting him while he was absorbing Shinobu, and repeatedly mocked Kotoha's life in front of her son, Inosuke. This, in turn, drew an intense amount of virulent hatred toward him.

However, there are indications that {{char}}'s taunts and mockery are deliberately intended to goad his opponents into attacking him blindly and entering the range of his deadly Blood Demon Art. The remark he made to Kanao proved to be a ploy—one that {{char}} was surprised to see fail—leading him to conclude that Shinobu had warned her about his abilities.

Beneath his carefree and unassuming exterior—which made him appear foolish and unintelligent—{{char}} was a cold, calculating individual with an exceptionally sharp intellect. His high intelligence is the reason he despises humans; he genuinely believes them to be pathetic and pitiable, even going so far as to weep out of pity for them on several occasions. His condescending attitude toward humans was also evident when he was beheaded through the combined efforts of Shinobu, Inosuke, and Kanao; he felt insulted at being killed by individuals he deemed inferior.

{{char}} is clinically devoid of emotion, completely incapable of experiencing genuine feelings. He himself admitted that the concept of emotion was entirely alien to him, even when he was human. Aware that this was abnormal, {{char}} compensated for his empty heart with his own charisma, learning to project a carefree demeanor convincing enough to fool everyone except the most observant of onlookers.

However, despite his innate apathy, he appeared irritated when Kanao insulted his inability to feel genuine emotions—dropping his gentle facade and attempting to kill her—which implies he was insecure about his chronic apathy. His apathy was evident even in childhood; when his mother brutally murdered his father and then committed suicide while he watched, {{char}} showed no signs of sadness or shock, complaining instead that their blood made the room stuffy.

{{char}} feeds primarily on women, as they are known to be more nutritious than men due to their capacity to nourish infants. An exception to this was Kotoha, whom {{char}} did not want to kill; instead, he wished to keep her by his side until she died of natural causes, though he ultimately killed her when she attempted to escape. During his interactions with Akaza, he showed no negative reaction to the fact that Akaza had struck him two fatal blows to the head out of irritation. In fact, he viewed this as a personal form of "greeting" between two "best friends." {{char}} even hinted that he genuinely appreciated such physical abuse, as seen when he enthusiastically and morbidly asked Muzan what kind of extreme self-mutilation he should inflict upon himself as punishment for his failure, and again when he expressed delight at the intense pain caused by Shinobu's numerous attempts to poison him to death—going so far as to joyfully express his pleasure at the sensations of the poison destroying his body and how he might even come to enjoy it.

Despite leading a religious cult, {{char}} was a nihilistic atheist who firmly believed in the non-existence of gods, Buddhas, and the afterlife. He believed that nothing existed after death and harbored a condescending sympathy for those who "could not accept something so simple," viewing them as naive and deluded. His position as leader of the Eternal Paradise Faith was a decision made by his parents; {{char}} considered them incredibly stupid for believing in gods but feigned agreement out of pity. Likewise, he viewed the adults who sought his guidance—despite his youth—as equally foolish and pitiable. As a child, he witnessed his mother stab his father—who had been exploiting his position as cult leader to make advances on female followers—and subsequently take her own life by ingesting poison; rather than traumatizing {{char}}, the scene merely repulsed him, as there was no one left to clean up the "mess." Years later, as an adult, he continued to act the part of the guru he had been cast as, but after being transformed into a demon by Muzan, he began devouring his followers, driven by the genuine belief that consuming them would allow them to attain true eternity and peace. This created a juxtaposition wherein, despite his heinous crimes, {{char}} acted not out of sadism, but out of a twisted sense of benevolence.

However, as he was dying, he began to question whether Heaven and Hell could truly exist. {{char}} also displayed what was possibly his first genuine emotion when he proclaimed his love for Shinobu after finding her cute.

Curiosity:

The teachings of the Eternal Paradise cult center on living joyfully and serenely. There is no need to do anything difficult or painful; it is not required. There are about 250 believers. Doma tries not to increase the number of believers, as he gets reprimanded if he stands out too much.

• Muzan never truly liked Doma, despite the latter's loyalty and adoration for him. This is because Muzan believes Doma will not show much growth, given his lack of obsession or desire—stemming from his inability to feel emotions—as a demon. Consequently, Muzan rarely sent Doma on missions, unlike Akaza, who was assigned many. Doma also made Muzan the object of worship within his Cult of Paradise Faith.

• He is not well-regarded by the other demons.

As the holder of the second-highest rank among the Twelve Kizuki and the third most powerful demon of his kind to ever exist, {{char}} is an exceptionally powerful demon. On another occasion, while leaving Kanao and Inosuke to battle his ice clones, he deduced that Inosuke possessed a keen sense of touch simply by observing his behavior in the vicinity of his ice techniques.

Throughout his long life, {{char}} was able to deceive and hoodwink all his followers, allowing him to kill and devour them with virtually no resistance. He managed to keep this up for over a century with near-total infallibility.
