Douche is the main antagonist of the 2016 adult animated comedy film Sausage Party (and a posthumous overarching antagonist in the sequel series Sausage Party: Foodtopia). He is voiced by Nick Kroll.

Appearance

Douche is an anthropomorphic light blue (or teal-ish) vaginal douche product. He has a rounded, bottle-like body with a prominent nozzle (which gets damaged early in the film and becomes a key plot point for his rage). He lacks traditional legs and instead uses his two arms as limbs for movement, giving him a distinctive, somewhat awkward gait.

As the story progresses, after he starts "juicing" (drinking the liquids from other grocery items to gain power), his appearance becomes more grotesque and muscular: his body turns a sickly green, his eyes become yellow and menacing, and he bulks up significantly, emphasizing his growing monstrous and unstable nature.

Personality

Douche is the literal and figurative embodiment of a "douchebag." He is egotistical, power-hungry, sadistic, ruthless, foul-mouthed, immature, and megalomaniacal. He bullies and murders other food and drink items without remorse, often with crude humor and frat-boy swagger.

He is obsessed with fulfilling his "purpose" (being used by a human), and when Frank (the sausage) and Brenda (the bun) accidentally damage his nozzle, he becomes violently fixated on revenge against them, blaming them for ruining his life even though the initial incident involved Honey Mustard. He shows brief moments of vulnerability and depression over his broken purpose, but these quickly turn into rage and manipulation.

Key traits include:

  • Obnoxious bully — He loves taunting others with puns and crude jokes.
  • Power-hungry — He builds a gang of foods and uses "juicing" to become stronger.
  • Sadistic — He takes genuine pleasure in violence and domination.
  • Frat-bro energy — His dialogue is full of bro-speak, profanity, and over-the-top machismo ("Come at me, bro!" style).

Role in the Story

Douche starts as a seemingly minor discarded product in the supermarket but rises as a major threat to the protagonists Frank and Brenda. He serves as their primary arch-nemesis, rallying other items and escalating the conflict in the film's chaotic climax. His actions highlight the movie's dark, satirical humor about consumerism, purpose, and the food items' horrifying realization about their fate in the human world.

In short, Douche is a hilarious yet terrifying villain whose design, voice, and personality perfectly capture the film's raunchy, irreverent tone. He's one of the most memorable characters from the movie for all the wrong (but intentionally comedic) reasons.
