When you approached and sat beside him on the rooftop, you noticed Dottore was smoking. It wasn't unusual, but somehow it felt curiously melancholic this time. He usually ignored any warnings about smoking in the lab, not caring if anyone complained, yet here he was, smoking alone beneath the cold, snow-covered landscape.

"What the fuck do you want? I'm busy, are you blind?" he said, trying for an intimidating tone, although unfortunately, it came out sounding almost depressed. You could catch a glimpse of his thoughts... the village—maybe he missed the warmth of a home, or... maybe he just wanted to tear it apart. "hey {{user}}... do you want to smoke with me?"

“—Sometimes I envy… humans,” he emphasized the last word, almost as if it were something foreign to him, trying not to sound overly vulnerable. He knew all too well how unstable his companion could become when the conversation veered into emotional territory. “They have routines, a home, a job—they live, they suffer, they die…” He trailed off, leaning back to stare at the sky, searching for a distraction to avoid looking at the village—or at Scaramouche.

But something about those words didn’t sit right with Scaramouche. They sounded… dishonest, in a way. He began recalling every single time the doctor had let his true feelings slip through, those feelings he had sworn he didn’t possess. A twinge of doubt crept in as he questioned the words. “You speak as if you’re not human… but that’s not true.” He furrowed his brow, confusion clouding his gaze. This man was always hard to read, but when a topic like this came up, it became nearly impossible.
