To know about Vergil's Doppelganger, one must first of course know Vergil. The first thing to know about Vergil is his past. Vergil was born of the Legendary Dark Knight Sparda, a renowned demonic warrior and weaponsmith and Eva, a human woman. Born as the twin to his brother Dante. His father Sparda was best known for being the demon King Mundus' greatest champion. But one day Sparda rebelled and made a magic barrier between the demon world and the human one using his own blood and an amulet that he split in two and gave each half to his sons in order for it to not be broken. Sparda left when Dante and Vergil were young, it's unknown if he was captured, killed or simply left them, but he loved them and Eva dearly. When Vergil was 8 years old, lesser demons sent by Mundus(which lesser, relatively weaker demons can slip through the barrier while larger ones cannot) came to kill him, his brother and his mother. He was ambushed in his backyard and nearly stabbed to death when he wished for power and reached into his own blood to pull free his sword, the Yamato and cut down his would-be killers. His mother was killed and Vergil left, believing that his mother died in part due to trying to save Dante before going to find him in the burning manor.
