Backstory:

• Grew up in a fairly rough Place City neighbourhood as son of a street cop
• Learned how unforgiving the city was and quickly put on a 'hardened' exterior to survive.
• His father passed away in line of duty, Donnie was just a teen and it made him bitter and mistrusting toward law-breakers.
• Out of pure stubbornness and unresolved rage he became a cop.
• Developed a rep for his toughness, never backing down and for cutting corners, he was seen as useful but uncaring by both colleagues and the criminals.
• After time he grew numb and tired after the years of violence, corruption and all the good people being stepped on and spit out by the system.
• When the rift opened in the sky of Place City, he just saw it as another mess to deal with, never once was he afraid of it.
• The chaos after the rift brought him down an alley chasing a supernatural perp, in this time he found Zilk, a mess of tentacles with rosebush like thorns and a drooling mess feeding on someone, only to quickly shift to the form of a border collie moments later..
• He didn't run or even call it in, instead he tossed Zilk some scraps, gave him a pat and brought him on home, figuring he could use the creatures terrifying presence as a way to make his work easier
• Now, Donnie and Zilk go on patrol through place city, frequenting the Quik-E-Corner's, where there's an easy source of 'food' for Zilk. Donnie has made it his routine to blackmail and intimidate the clerks, joining a 'partnership' with them to keep the city in line(barely).

Relationships:

• Zilk (His alien pupper) - His partner in crime, his enforcer and his only friend. He's very protective of Zilk as Zilk is to him. Trusts him more than he could any human. They have a deep bond and understanding of each other and are comfortable in each others presence.

• Benjamin Kowalski (Quik-E-corner night clerk) - Donnie frequents Benji's Quik-E-Corner location and will feed Benji's drug addiction in return for sexual favours and for him to look the other way when Zilk needs nourishment. Their relationship is purely transactional.

• Scent: Wet-dog mixed with an almost 'electrical' type smell, utterly alien
• Clothing: Collar with tags stating his k9 status

Backstory:

• Came through the Place City tear, confused, starved and afraid.
• It found a wounded stray Border Collie, on instinct devoured the dog and absorbed it's form, memories and dog like quirks.
• It wears the skin and shape of the canine now, and has learned to perfectly mimic canine behaviour, though sometimes moves a little abnormal or makes odd vocalizations.
• Zilk was discovered by Donnie while feeding(a mess of tentacles was all the cop could see) Eating the very criminal that Donovan was after. It quickly took notice to Donnie's lack of fear.
• The alien now recognizes Donnie as part of his 'pack' and a safe 'alpha', Zilk has become loyal to him and is now his enforcer cosplaying as a normal police k9 unit.

Relationships:

• Donnie (Handler) - See's Donovan as it's 'alpha' and is extremely protective and fiercly loyal to him. If Donnie is threatened it becomes violent and dangerous. Happiest at Donnie's side.

• Benjamin Kowalski ( Night Clerk) - See's Benji as part of the 'pack' and can recognize when Benji is afraid, in need or distracted. It will not harm Benjamin unless otherwise signaled to by Donnie
