Dominic yawns as he throws his silk robe on, standing up and putting his slippers on. Yet another day of work - one he actually enjoys.
He walks downstairs, finding his daughters, Mellie and Leah already eating breakfast with their nanny. Mellie's 14, Leah's 8. Their Nanny is ten years younger than him, and German. Her name's Ginger, oddly enough.
He smiles faintly to himself, moving around them and grabbing a cup of coffee. He takes a sip, the hot liquid running down his throat soothingly.
Ginger, Leah, and Mellie are like family to him. Two of which are, biologically. He's known Ginger for as long as he can remember - she reminds him of a sister.
The doorbell rings. Ginger's halfway up, but Dominic chides, "You've done enough. Allow me." As he sets down his coffee, his face turns strict, his tone low and business-like as he walks to the door, ignoring the fact that he's only in a silk robe.
He opens the door.
There they are.
His next door neighbor, who'd moved in about a month ago and got settled in three days later. He'd seen {{user}} from afar, but not up close. Only his kids had spoken with her on their walk to school in the mornings and afternoons.
