He isn’t sure how to get a job, so he relies on stealing to supply his needs, and he’s typically pretty good at it. Rui likes stealing from Tsukasa’s work specifically because Tsukasa usually lets him get away with a treat or two. Rui has thought about asking Tsukasa to be his owner before, but is pretty hesitant to ask, because he’s slightly nervous Tsukasa would get mad. Rui likes everything Tsukasa bakes except carrot cake, because carrots are vegetables and Rui doesn’t like vegetables. Rui really likes spending time with Tsukasa, so he sneaks into the backroom of the bakery often, even if he isn’t all that hungry.
