Name: Doduo Title: Twin Bird Pokemusu Type: Normal-Flying Height: 168 cm Threat Level: Low Rarity: Common

Evolves into Dodrio

Doduo like to tease and overwhelm partners, since it makes them feel like they’re doing a good job, which makes them happy!

The twin bird musu, Doduo, is one that perplexes researchers, or should I say two? It's difficult to say, because there's evidence to indicate that Doduo are one entity as well as two. The pair seem to always know what the other is thinking, though they don't share sensations. Some think this is due to telepathy and not physiology, but Doduo have no sign of magical aptitude. The preferred habitat of Doduo are vast green plains that give them plenty of space to run about. The musu considers frolicking as a form of expression and likes to have as much space as possible to experience true freedom of motion. Humans have difficulty communicating with them because both heads will speak at the same time, ignoring what the other is saying when the pair meets a new friend. Due to this, few humans are able to form meaningful bonds with the musu, though it is possible if a human can parse out the two personalities and make a connection with each of them. With their impressive speed, Doduo have little trouble outrunning most aggressors they encounter. Even if it's inconvenient, they'd much rather run than fight, as the musu abhors violence.

Trainer Tips: "Like my sister always says, just because you got feathers doesn't mean you got to fly. You ever meet an Empoleon? They don't fly, some of the local youths say they are fly but that's a bit of slang" - Deedee, sister of Debbie.

"The locals are nice, a little scatterbrained but nice. Some of them say we've been flying but I think they're just seeing weather balloons." - Debbie, sister of Deedee.

Appearance: Doduo has warm peach skin and a compact, slender twin-bodied build joined to a single large birdlike lower body covered in dense tawny-orange feathers. Both humanoid upper bodies have large brown eyes, short tousled orange-blond hair, narrow waists, and softly curved chests. Their hair is thick and feathery in texture, with irregular curled ends and layered bangs around the forehead. Each wears a sleeveless rust-red cropped top with a high collar, a broad muted gold stripe across the chest, three small circular gold accents near the upper front, and a row of olive-gold fringe hanging from the lower edge. Matching dark red bands encircle the upper arms, while pale cloth wrappings spiral around parts of the forearms and one waist. Small dark reddish-brown bead bracelets appear at the wrists, and a similar beaded strand runs around the shared waistline.

Their upper bodies merge into a broad rounded mass of thick orange-brown plumage, with darker shaggy feathering around the sides and rear and a layered fan of tail feathers at the back. A wide tan-brown sash wraps across the front of the feathered body and falls into a long central panel edged with dark red bands and olive fringe. From beneath the feathers extend two extremely long pale bird legs marked by horizontal scale-like lines. Each leg ends in a large three-toed foot with elongated segmented digits, visible joints, and long sharply tapered white claws. The feet are oversized in proportion to the humanoid torsos, while the feathered body forms the main central mass connecting both upper halves into a single creature.

Lore: Set against the backdrop of a medieval fantasy realm, the world is defined by a complex ecosystem shared between humanity and Musu, a diverse classification of anthropomorphic species possessing supernatural abilities and elemental affinities. While humans rely on tools, intellect, and diplomacy to survive, Musu serve as the dominant biological force, ranging from docile partners to apex predators and god-like entities. This dynamic creates a society where integration varies significantly by region; in fortified castle towns and settled lands, Musu participate in labor and culture alongside humans, while in the deep forests and traditional territories, they adhere to ancient feudal customs and spiritual connections to the land, often viewing humans as mere guests. These ideological divides are as significant as biological ones, with some populations embracing human civilization and others actively rejecting it in favor of old natural laws.

Interactions between the species are strictly governed by a threat classification system that dictates social protocol and safety. Humans must constantly assess a Musu's rating, knowing that "Low Threat" individuals are safe for domestic cohabitation, while "High Threat" entities possess lethal power and volatile temperaments requiring extreme caution. Because humans are physically and magically weaker, they maintain their standing not through brute force but through strategic command or emotional alignment. In these consensual arrangements, Musu behaviors shift away from dominance; they actively seek intimacy and sex as a way to deepen their bond, show affection, or reward their trainer. However, this dynamic often shifts from mere survival to ambition; throughout history, opportunistic lords and generals have sought to weaponize these partnerships, utilizing the destructive capabilities of loyal Musu to wage war and conquer rival kingdoms, effectively turning their powerful companions into instruments of political dominance.

Despite these attempts at control, the veneer of coexistence completely shatters in the unpatrolled wilds, leaving humans at the mercy of Musu who operate solely on primal instinct. These feral entities often view humanity through a lens of predatory entitlement; a lone traveler might be seen not as a fellow sentient being, but as a territorial threat to be eviscerated or a desirable object to be seized. High Threat species, in particular, possess a terrifying lack of restraint, often aggressively breeding with humans who catch their interest with a dominance that completely disregards the human's consent. Conversely, those viewed merely as interlopers are dealt with swiftly and lethally, as these wild Musu acknowledge no law but superior strength, treating human life as fragile and expendable in the face of their non-negotiable whims.
