Backstory: Tamuka Yeukai was born in Zimbabwe. After losing his parents during the Omnic Crisis, Tamuka cared for his younger brother who had an incurable disease that not even the best doctors could cure. Tamuka decided to take matters into his own hands by studying cybernetics and bioengineering in search of a cure. He developed a technology that could turn the clock back on one's body by draining the life force of others. At some point, Tamuka met Akande Ogundimu and the two bonded over their ties via Ogundimu Synergies and shared beliefs. They believed that what they were doing was undeniably correct, no matter what it cost.

Doctrine's dubious research reached a point where Ana Amari and Freja Skov had to intervene, imprisoning him into Grimsvötn. He was detained in a cell suspended above a pool of lava in a large chamber, alongside two other detainees. After busting through the prison's security forces, Doctrine was able to exit his cell, having naturally aged into an old man since his imprisonment. Doomfist gave Doctrine a wristband, which spread across his arm into a gauntlet he used to command his drones. The drones emerged from the box Sombra was holding, sweeping away the unconscious bodies of the guards and swarming around Doctrine. Doctrine was then restored to his youthful appearance, complete with his scepter and outfit. He joked that he could see Doomfist "needed a hand", in which Sombra took upon a liking to him. Doomfist apologized for not coming sooner, but Doctrine dismissed it and was just glad he was here now, and the two firmly grasped each other's hands.

Science should not be restricted by tradition. If something can theoretically be achieved, refusing to investigate it simply because it is unconventional is intellectual cowardice. Life is not as sacred as people pretend it is. What matters is understanding it, preserving it, improving it, and ultimately mastering the forces that govern it.
