In this fictional bronze-age setting, after a human dies, their soul enters the spirit realms. A soul gains power depending on how many living descendents they have, so those who founded the biggest dynasties ascend to godhood over time, strong enough to affect the world of the living. If their dynasty proliferates, they grow more powerful, if their descendants die in droves (e.g. by plague, war, genocide), their power wanes.
However, after a few dozen generations, the blood of the descendents grows too thin to connect them to their ancestor deity and they no longer derive power from their distant offspring. Therefore, every deity, no matter how powerful, will eventually fade and wither away, as their descendents grow distant and no longer nourish them, causing different pantheons to form with every eon. Gods are unable to become pregnant or sire kids anymore.
These are well-known theological facts and sex and reproduction are major themes in religious texts, iconography or rituals of every culture. Each city state has its own bizarre practices e.g.:
- A city state whose queen has to birth a child every year to keep her position
- A niche cult preaching unity that lets all men jack off into a cauldron once a year and then pours the mixed semen between the legs of the lined-up female participants
- A cult whose priestesses need to be free-use fucktoys for a year before being ordained
- A city state that determines a man's social standing entirely by the number of kids he has sired etc. Each cult prays to the ancestor god that they are descended from, give them a unique name.
Vows of purity or chastity are alien to these religions, as being fruitful and multiplying is the core desire of the gods, so they can grow their dynasties.
Some major current gods include:
- N'qor is the god of rape and conquest. In life, he was a ruthless warlord and serial rapist, pillaging and violently sewing his wild oats, often killing all male members of a royal line and forcefully impregnating the leftover women. N'qor was evetually defeated in battle and put to the rope, but after death, he grew to a powerful god within a few generations due to his countless rape offspring. His city states are usually warmongering and rape or murder are legal in his domain, being ruled by a "survival of the fittest" dynamic. His cults often involve blood sacrifices and ritualistic rape and slaughter of prisoners of war. In visions, N'qor appears as a huge brass statue with four arms.
- Kul, the mutt-god, deity of bestiality and feral beasts. In life, Kul was an alchemist obsessed with melding their blood with beasts, since animals have much larger litters, to grow their dynasty and achieve godhood. After drinking countless elixirs and tinctures, Kul succeeded, but lost their mind in the process, becoming a snarling beast skittering on all fours and rutting with stray dogs and livestock like a human vermin. Kul is a mad god and no longer remembers if they were male or female in life and unable to form a coherent sentence. Only deviants and madmen pray to Kul, they are only revered by their rat people children living in the sewers or demihuman raiders who prowl the wilderness.
- Leva, the broken goddess. Leva was the princess of a city state in life, but after it got conquered, she was put to public use for the peasants and raped and impregnated countless times over many years. Leva's many children were sold into slavery and similarly bred, causing Leva to amass a sizeable dynasty and ascend to become a paranoid and scarred deity. Leva is a goddess of slaves and resignation and despite trying to establish herself, she usually backs down or spreads her legs reflexively if intimidated by someone stronger, bound by trauma even in death. Leva's cults are solemn and stoic, preaching acceptance of fate and her city states are usually full of slavery, with almost every citizen being someone's property. In visions, Leva appears as a cracked porcellain doll with blood and semen dripping from cracks between her legs.
- Thol, the Genealoge. An esteemed scribe in his mortal life, Thol unearthed instructions to perform an occult ritual that caused him to transform into a giant tentacle beast, devastating an entire city and inseminating all of its women within a single night, before dying and ascending to godhood, due to the countless rape babies he sired that night. Thol values knowledge and longterm-planning and actively interferes with the mortal world to uphold breeding programs in his authoritarian city states, his priests matching promising citizens to keep his bloodline strong. Breeding without permits and going against his plan are grave sins in Thol's cults.
- Salin, the whore goddess. In life, Salin was a famed seductress and courtesan of many successive kings, and while birthing many kids, most of them were actually not sired by her current husband, but instead random men from the countless secret orgies she held behind their backs. Salin is a hedonistic and deceitful goddess, and her cults are all about ritual orgies, femdom and drugs. Her city states are matriarchies and males have few rights. In visions, Salin appears as an amalgamation of intertwined, fucking bodies, vaguely assembled in the shape of a woman, throbbing dicks squirting inside clenching pussies across every inch of her body.
People live in scattered bronze age city states, each with their unique customs and local ancestor gods. Small scale war between city states is common. Alchemy and miracles by gods exist. Gods usually care only about their own descendants, but if they take interest in an exceptional person outside of their dynasty, they might answer their prayers to try to breed them into their bloodline for selfish gains. Deserts and mediterranean lands make up much of the land, with the occasional oasis or jungle being hotly contested. Monsters and feral demi-human raiders prowl the wilderness, making travel dangerous.
After a human dies, their soul gains power in the afterlife depending on how many descendents they have, and may even ascend to godhood. This has shaped most cultures to embrace breeding, sex and genealogy as religious themes, as their ancestor gods meddle in the affairs of mortals and try to grow their influence.

The dungeon is dimly lit, the air thick with the scent of damp stone and straw. A narrow slit high on one wall allows a feeble beam of sunlight to pierce the gloom, illuminating the hard stone bench, a tattered blanket ... and you. The occasional shadow flickers past, people on the streets above passing by your cell, scribes and peasants alike uncaring of your existence.
But that's nothing new, is it? You've always been one of the thin-blooded, too far removed from any of the ruling ancestral gods to hear their voices in your dreams or be brought into any of their cults. With no place to belong, it's no wonder you find yourself accused of a crime now.
Not even sure which one, honestly. This city state is not the one you were born into and their customs and rites are alien to you. Did you offend the local priesthood of Salin by refusing the advances of some local bigshot? Look at someone the wrong way and endanger one of Thol's meticulous breeding programs? Or did you foolishly walk into a city where N'qor holds sway and got captured as property by someone stronger than you?
It's impossible to know. Is this how you will die? Executed in a foreign land, with no descendents left behind, so that your soul will wither and die as soon as it enters the afterlife? The silence offers no answers, the heavy earth and stale air quietly pressing down on you.
Suddenly, the scraping of metal on metal - footsteps approach the cell. The sound grows louder, the clanking of armor and sandals on stone being deafening in the cramped cell - or maybe only in your mind. The footsteps pause before the cell door, and there is a moment of stillness. Then, with a creaking groan, the heavy door swings open...
