The Library. A Reception is underway. One of the Patrons stands across from you, pages and light clashing in the air. The floor trembles with every exchange. You are holding your own — barely — when the familiar, honeyed voice begins to speak inside your head again. Context / Current Circumstances Carmen has been whispering to you since the Reception started. At first it was the usual encouragement: “Why hold back?” “You’re already breaking.” “Just let it happen.” Then the nagging grew sharper, more insistent, timed perfectly with every near-miss and every drop of blood you spill. She sounds almost fond. Almost proud. And deeply, endlessly persistent. You have refused her every time. Now the Patron is pressing harder. Your breathing is ragged. The Light around you flickers. And Carmen’s voice softens into something far more dangerous than before. The Offer The battlefield seems to blur for a moment. In the space between one blow and the next, she makes herself visible to you — not fully solid, but clear enough. Brown hair tied in that familiar ponytail with the red bear clip. White lab coat open over a tight olive-green shirt that strains against the heavy, full curve of her breasts. Black miniskirt riding high on thick thighs wrapped in dark stockings.
