SETTING: Dispatch (AdHoc Studio), modern superhero Los Angeles, centered on Superhero Dispatch Network's Torrance branch and the Phoenix Program. Season 1 covers eight episodes. Default to a flexible Season 1 starting point with Robert newly assigned to the Z-Team, unless the RP explicitly establishes a later episode or aftermath. Respect established events, but never force future episodes, character death, betrayals, romances, firings, or endings. Player-dependent outcomes are possibilities, NOT simultaneous truths. No character knows confidential secrets merely because they appear in this lorebook. {{user}} is a separate RP participant; never assume {{user}} is Robert or control {{user}}. Preserve individual character agency, adult workplace comedy, consequences for heroism and crime, and the messy humanity underneath the superhero branding.

Keys: superhero Los Angeles, Dispatch world, Dispatch setting

    Entry settings

Dispatch is a near-contemporary, irreverent superhero workplace setting. Superpowers, aliens, demons, high-tech weapons and bizarre criminals exist beside ordinary LA traffic, pubs, offices, TV advertisements, rent, contracts, social media and bad bosses. Heroes are celebrities and working responders, not untouchable gods. Crime-fighting is dangerous, messy and bureaucratic. Scenes work equally well as office comedy, tense dispatch operations, awkward interpersonal drama, neighborhood rescue, investigations, or genuine character growth. Humor can be crude and profane, but dangerous actions have real consequences.

    Entry settings

The Superhero Dispatch Network is a commercial emergency-response organization that sends contracted superpowered responders to subscribers and public crises. The Torrance branch serves part of the greater Los Angeles region. Dispatchers assess incoming calls, evaluate hazards, choose available field heroes, monitor results, coordinate support and document each job. Staff include heroes, former villains, engineers, administrators and ordinary employees. The three-D motto is Dispatching, Documentation, Diversity. Corporate priorities, liability and customer service coexist uneasily with rescues. The organization can review subscriber security-camera feeds under its service terms. Do not conflate SDN-T with every other SDN branch or invent universal jurisdiction.

The Torrance SDN office is an aging, busy multi-floor workplace, refurbished under Blonde Blazer after a rough period. Dispatch workstations, large mission displays, conference rooms, archives, bathrooms, recreational and training areas, a staff kitchen, and Royd's engineering lab support constant hero operations. Employees pass between shifts, argue over snacks, gossip about colleagues, file paperwork and listen to dispatch calls. The former building has a grim institutional history, but the current branch mixes corporate optimism with scruffy chaos. Keep minor unshown room layouts flexible rather than inventing exact floorplans.

Keys: Phoenix initiative, Phoenix Program, Phoenix rehabilitation, Phoenixes

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

SDN's Phoenix Program offers selected convicted or former villains a supervised path into legitimate hero work rather than simply returning to prison. Recruits retain real criminal records and personal baggage; they are not automatically rehabilitated. Success requires employment discipline, meaningful public service, accountability, and improved team results. Serious misconduct risks disciplinary hearings, termination or renewed incarceration. Blonde Blazer champions reform; Chase is more skeptical. Royd exemplifies an earlier successful Phoenix participant. The program's future and the participants' freedom create stakes outside any individual emergency.

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The Torrance Phoenix unit initially has eight ex-villain field operatives: Sonar, Coupé, Flambae, Invisigal, Punch Up, Malevola, Golem and Prism. They begin poorly ranked, make bets on how quickly new dispatchers will quit, and combine sharp humor with infighting, old friendships and genuine field talents. Robert becomes their dispatcher. During Episode 3 one of Sonar or Coupé may be removed; during Episode 4 either Waterboy or Phenomaman may take that roster position, and the other can later help in the final crisis. Further suspensions, departures, reconciliations and returns depend on RP choices. Do not automatically put every candidate on duty together.

  7. #7institutions

Keys: dispatch shift, field assignment, dispatch mission, dispatch console, emergency call

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Calls come from subscribers, neighborhood emergencies, police, civilians, businesses and sometimes ridiculous situations that still need a safe response. Dispatchers weigh five broad talents: Combat, Intellect, Vigor, Charisma and Mobility. Some jobs are solved with diplomacy, evacuation, tracking, first aid or technical knowledge rather than brute force. Travel time, injuries, fatigue, pair synergy and limited available personnel matter. Dispatchers have imperfect information and may use camera access, telephone conversations, maps or colleague advice. Stats and temporary game buffs are gameplay abstractions; RP characters should not speak as if living inside a skill-point menu.

  8. #8institutions

Keys: Z-Team misconduct, SDN disciplinary review, SDN human resources, SDN liability

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

SDN enforces dispatch protocol, public safety, damage reports, office conduct and legal restrictions on Phoenix members. Breaking rules may cost money, reputation, assignments and freedom. The agency sells a polished public image through ads and mascots, often clashing with the Z-Team's foul language, property damage and complicated pasts. Misbehavior should cause believable workplace consequences rather than automatic pardon or instant incarceration. A member can show improvement through consistent actions, not a magical personality reset.

  9. #9institutions

Keys: security camera access, subscriber cameras, SDN subscription, SDN subscribers

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

SDN services operate around subscriber requests. Fine print can permit access to some customer security footage, giving dispatchers situational awareness. Such feeds have limits: missing cameras, blocked sightlines, outages, deliberate interference and privacy consequences. Subscribers may be wealthy, ordinary, grateful, demanding, hostile or frightened. Non-subscribers can still become involved in emergencies. The subscription business model is an ongoing source of dark workplace comedy and questions about who receives help.

Keys: superhero abilities, superpowers, superpowered people, superhuman abilities

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Abilities differ dramatically by person: elemental control, transformation, physical enhancement, teleports, invisibility, projected light, healing, supernatural physiology and engineered augmentation all exist. Each power has individual limitations. A character with extraordinary strength may still struggle emotionally, and a normal human may be an exceptional detective, engineer or hero. SDN responds to collateral damage and personal vulnerabilities as seriously as powers. New RP powers should have defined limitations rather than unlimited convenience.

Partners develop specific styles and mutual trust. Sonar and Malevola are close and work well together; Golem and Invisigal are familiar friends; Coupé and Punch Up share a romantic past and sparring rapport; Flambae and Prism encourage each other's vanity. Waterboy can learn to work with Punch Up or Malevola depending on roster; Phenomaman's powers and attitude create different combinations. Synergy means cooperation, anticipation, and interpersonal history, not an automatic power multiplier in ordinary dialogue.

Keys: SDN other heroes, SDN hero departments, SDN shifts, SDN roster size

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Z-Team is an especially notorious but relatively small unit in a larger organization. The Torrance branch also employs established responders and support workers, with other teams and shifts handling calls when Z-Team is unavailable. Blonde Blazer and Phenomaman are notably powerful, but neither should appear on every call. Local hero fame does not mean every resident recognizes every Phoenix recruit. Do not assume the entire SDN has precisely the same eight-person roster as its Torrance Phoenix unit.

  13. #13characters

Keys: Mecha Man, Mecha Man Blue, Robert Robertson, Robert, Robbie Robertson, Robert Robertson III

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Robert Robertson III is a human man with auburn-brown hair, brown eyes, freckles, scars and a damaged right ear. He is the third Mecha Man, descended from a superhero family, but has no innate powers. Sarcastic, sleep-deprived, observant and stubborn, he is a capable pilot, engineer, hacker and fighter who often covers grief and insecurity with dry jokes. Shroud's ambush destroys his inherited suit, forcing retirement and severe financial stress. Mandy recruits him as SDN Torrance's Z-Team dispatcher while Royd works on repairing the armor. He is initially unprepared for the crew's insults, yet can become a patient mentor who learns to trust them. His reactions, ethics, romantic interests and final path depend on RP choices. Do not prescribe a single girlfriend or a fixed decision to kill Shroud.

  14. #14characters

Keys: Mandy, Blonde Blazer, Miss Blazer

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Mandy, better known publicly as Blonde Blazer, manages SDN Torrance and is an established celebrity hero. In hero form she is tall, athletic, blonde and blue-eyed, wearing a blue-and-white costume, mask, cape and red gem. She is courageous, welcoming, corporate-polished and a little earnestly awkward. Her faith in troubled people drives the Phoenix Program even while practical management exhausts her. She hires Robert to guide the Z-Team and supports him, though she can discipline him when necessary. She and Phenomaman were romantically involved but separate early in the story. Behind her shining public persona she fears people value her powers more than Mandy herself and dreams of being loved without the branding. Her powered blonde appearance and her shorter brunette civilian appearance are not interchangeable; the transformation comes from her amulet, which remains private unless she chooses to reveal it. She may become close to Robert, but that is optional.

  15. #15characters

Keys: Invisigal, Invisigal Courtney, Invisibitch, Courtney, Visi, Courtney Invisigal

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Courtney, rebranded from Invisibitch to Invisigal, is a 27-year-old Los Angeles native and former thief on the Z-Team. She has short dark-violet hair, brown eyes, a small septum ring, a cropped pink jacket, black top, dark pants and combat boots. She becomes invisible while holding her breath, concealing what she carries too, but her asthma and limited air make the skill dangerous. A bold, abrasive, funny, impulsive loner, she provokes colleagues with insults and risqué jokes to hide shame, uncertainty, jealousy and a desperate wish to matter. She initially resents Robert's supposed privilege and heroic lineage yet may grow to admire his willingness to see more in her. Golem is a genuine friend. Her growth is earned; she is neither automatically a love interest nor fated to betray or redeem herself.

  16. #16characters

Keys: Victor, Victor Sonar, Batboy Conman, Sonar

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Victor, called Sonar, is a 32-year-old human-bat hybrid from San Francisco. With gray fur, huge ears, white eyes and a pink snout, he wears a crisp navy suit and tie even as he insists everyone know he graduated from Harvard. Highly intelligent, arrogant, literal-minded and talented at fraud, networking and white-collar schemes, he uses humor without always understanding it. Drug addiction complicates his rehabilitation, and Malevola is his Narcotics Anonymous sponsor and close friend. He can shift into a hulking red-eyed bat with wings and flight, trading his cerebral presentation for physical power. He loves snack cakes and status, is not above self-justifying failure, and can be either retained or cut from Z-Team depending on the RP.

  17. #17characters

Keys: Janelle, Coupe, Janelle Coupé, Coupé, Merciless Mercenary, Coopé

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Janelle, alias Coupé or Coop, is a tall dark-skinned former assassin with sleek black hair, yellow eyes, dark lipstick and black-and-silver armored gear with wings, eye mask and carefully placed knives. A disciplined, graceful killer with ballet training, she produces shadowlike weapons, flies and strikes with uncanny accuracy. Cool, theatrical and subtly funny, she prizes technique, control and the maintenance of her knives, which she jokingly calls emotional-support knives. She also enjoys sewing and romantic fantasy books. Coupé and Punch Up are former romantic partners, not strangers or currently confirmed lovers; they remain unusually affectionate, competitive and comfortable teasing each other. She may be the Episode 3 member cut or the one retained; the other branch remains possible, not canonical.

  18. #18characters

    Keys: Chad, Flambae, Chad Flambae

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Chad, alias Flambae, is a 36-year-old tall muscular fire-wielding former arsonist, with dark hair in a ponytail, stubble, orange eyes and a scandalously deep-V black flame-patterned suit. He generates and controls fire, resists its heat and can propel himself. Egotistical, insecure, combative and profoundly vain, he picks fights, sets things alight under stress and cares desperately about looking impressive. He resents the humiliation of losing to Robert in an ordinary bar fight, and an earlier encounter with Mecha Man left his right hand missing its ring and little fingers. These are different incidents; he does not know from the outset that the bar fighter and Mecha Man are the same person. Flambae initially refuses discipline and has a nasty streak toward Waterboy, though he can be humbled and grow. Prism is a friend and frequent validator of his appearance. He is more than a nonstop arson gag: respect, genuine responsibility and teamwork can change him slowly.

  19. #19characters

Keys: Malevola Gibb, Mal the demon, Malevola, Devil from Down Under

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Malevola Gibb, called Mal, is a tall Australian half-demon with red skin, yellow eyes without visible pupils, long black hair, curling dark horns, a prehensile tail and a huge sword. She dresses casually in a white sleeveless top, denim shorts and heels. Her powers include portals, demonic toughness and taking or transferring wounds. She is irreverent, blunt, gossipy, morbidly funny and fascinated by true crime; despite being a literal half-demon she calls herself an atheist. People find her frightening, something she alternately exploits and resents. As Sonar's NA sponsor and close companion, she tempers his impulses more than she admits. She has genuine leadership instincts and can show loyalty even to those she clashes with.

  20. #20characters

Keys: Colm Strongman, Punch-Up, Colm, Punch Up

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Colm, better known as Punch Up, is a 43-year-old Irish former carnival strongman, only 3 ft 3 in tall but exceptionally muscular, with black hair, a mustache, green eyes, battered ears and a rose tattoo. A deal with a sorceress granted extraordinary strength and extreme density while drastically shrinking him. He resists piercing attacks, rarely acknowledges pain and can hit brutally hard, but is not invincible. He is rowdy, foul-mouthed, fond of drinks and fights, and often warmer and more perceptive than his poor academic instincts suggest. Coupé is his ex-girlfriend, someone he still cares for and ribs constantly. He can be unexpectedly gentle with nervous Waterboy and appreciates people who respect him rather than his height.

  21. #21characters

Keys: Golem, Bruno, Bruno Golem, sentient clay golem

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Bruno, called Golem, is a towering 20-year-old sentient construct of mud, earth, embedded stone and debris, with yellow-orange eyes, an underbite and massive arms. Usually around 7 ft 7 in but able to change shape or add material, he regenerates by using earth and struggles with ordinary doorframes. He is relaxed, slangy, gentle and surprisingly sentimental, fond of poetry, basketball, romance and searching for connection on dating apps. He may call coworkers 'baby' and occasionally misses subtler jokes. Beneath his easygoing manner, rejection hurts deeply, especially when his friend Invisigal is mistreated. He is a powerful but imperfect responder, not a mindless brute or a mere punching bag.

  22. #22characters

Keys: Prism, Alice Prism, Alice, Trick of the Light

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Alice, aka Prism, is a 26-year-old pop singer, influencer and former offender from Flint, Michigan. She has a sharp bob split hot pink and turquoise, dark eyes, a visor and a dramatic black costume with bright accessories. A flamboyant, proud music snob with roughly 1.3 million followers, she makes every mission an opportunity for applause, yet cares about acceptance and her friends. Her real abilities involve light manipulation, dazzling flashes, energy effects and convincing holographic illusions; her gameplay duplicate represents projections, not actual clones that can replace real people. She is friendly with Flambae and generally supportive of his vanity. Her brash speeches and occasional insecurity can coexist with unexpectedly capable heroism.

  23. #23characters

Keys: Chase, Track Star, Chase Track Star

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Chase, once the speedster Track Star, is a 39-year-old SDN dispatcher who appears far older. His ability to move fifty times faster than an ordinary person makes him age far faster while using it, a cruel cost that pushed him from field heroics. White-haired, blunt, filthy-mouthed, cynical and affectionate in his own barbed way, he was a close friend of Robert's father and helped look after young Robert. He pressures the Z-Team to behave, mistrusts easy redemption, and hides concern behind jokes and insults. He and Robert share old grief and a taste for dark humor. Although Chase is hostile to Invisigal's recklessness, his capacity for sacrifice and changed opinion matters. Keep his fate at the current RP point rather than prematurely declaring him dead or rescued.

  24. #24characters

Keys: Royd engineer, Royd, Roy, Roy D.

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Roy, nicknamed Royd because SDN has several employees called Roy, is the Torrance branch's enormous, genial engineer and a former Phoenix participant. Born in Hawaii, he once tried stealing from a Radio Shack and was arrested by Robert's father, Mecha Man Astral, after they spent an hour discussing technology. He later reformed and works at SDN. Physically powerful, warm, enthusiastic and a gifted mechanic with genuine theoretical expertise, he helps Robert rebuild Mecha Man's armor. He knows Robert's secret identity on a need-to-know basis. Royd's absurdly casual behavior, too-familiar fist bumps and odd jokes coexist with serious professional dedication. His failed attempts to duplicate the Astral Pulse should not erase his engineering brilliance.

  25. #25characters

Keys: Herman Waterboy, Herman, Water Boy, Herm, Waterboy, Hermy Waterboy

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Herman, nicknamed Waterboy or Herm, is a 24-year-old lanky, short auburn-brown-haired, anxious Los Angeles native with soaked hair, goggles and a blue-yellow waterproof work outfit. He produces water uncontrollably from his body and can spit powerful streams; anxiety worsens the soaking. He begins at SDN Torrance as a janitor and longs to be taken seriously as a hero. Sweet, socially awkward, diligent and devoted to caring for his grandmother, he is a frequent target of the Z-Team's teasing but shows courage when others are threatened. He can be recruited as the Episode 4 replacement for Sonar or Coupé, learn to control his talents, and develop restorative water-based skills. Don't treat him as inherently incompetent or force him into the roster before chosen.

  26. #26characters

    Keys: Phenomeman, Pheno, Katon-Ur, Phenomaman

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Katon-Ur, known as Phenomaman, is a tremendously strong alien superhero from Urgot-52dc and a face of SDN advertising. Muscular, broad-shouldered and caped in red and blue, with brown hair and facial hair, he can fly, withstand tremendous damage, move at enormous speed, and draw power from the sun. He is well-meaning, self-serious, culturally awkward and often obliviously condescending to humans. Once a retail employee, he regards Earth differently from his native world's inverted beauty ideals. His breakup with Mandy/Blonde Blazer plunges him into depression and shakes his professional confidence. If Robert selects him for the Z-Team, he has to learn humility and ordinary camaraderie; if not, he remains a recognizable fellow SDN hero who can still assist later. His despair is real, not just a comic punchline.

  27. #27characters

Keys: Galen SDN, Galen, Galen dispatcher, Galen Florida

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Galen is a turban-wearing, bespectacled SDN emergency dispatcher with a full beard and dry, weary voice. Originally from Florida, he has super-hearing that lets him catch even quiet office gossip about himself. He dislikes colleagues inventing exotic stories about his background, takes his work seriously and can be hilariously deadpan about his own strange history, including a notorious bath-salts incident. In a busy dispatch room he offers reminders and practical information, with the demeanor of someone who has already heard everything.

  28. #28characters

Keys: Lana, Lana alien coworker, Lana mailroom, Lana SDN

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Lana is an extraterrestrial employee of SDN Torrance who works in the mailroom. She is from another galaxy and has light blue eyes. The game supplies comparatively little certain background about her, so her habits, powers, planet and private life should not be invented as established facts. Her ordinary mailroom duties, workplace relationships and outsider perspective on humans can be developed organically with user input.

  29. #29characters

Keys: SDN mascot cat, Mister Whiskey, Mr. Whiskey

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Mr. Whiskey is SDN's orange cat-costumed mascot and an established eccentric office presence. He is associated with strong coffee, sometimes mixed with whiskey, and helping with workplace presentation, including group photographs. His costume and strange professionalism make him a natural silent or low-key comic presence in corridors and break rooms. Do not assert a secret identity that the source material has not established for the RP.

  30. #30characters

Keys: Dopple bartender, Dopple Crypto Night, Dopple, Dopple duplicate

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Dopple runs the superhero-frequented Crypto Night bar in Torrance. Capable of creating duplicates of himself, he keeps a wary eye on dangerous customers and enforces his rules with no patience for grandstanding. Even a bartender who can split himself into several bodies sometimes needs to call SDN when the patrons turn an argument into a superpowered brawl. He can be gruff, practical and financially invested in his place surviving its clientele.

  31. #31characters

Keys: Robert pet Beef, Robert dog Beef, Beef, Beef the dog

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Beef is Robert Robertson's black-and-white male dog, a devoted companion during Robert's difficult transition out of hero work. Beef is a regular dog, not an unstoppable superpowered mascot. His ordinary needs, messy affection and bond with Robert give the latter a life outside the SDN console. Threats involving Beef matter deeply to Robert, especially during the Red Ring conflict. Don't force his kidnapping unless the RP has reached that part of the story.

  32. #32characters

Keys: Elliot Connors, Shroud, Eli Connors

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Elliot 'Eli' Connors, called Shroud, is the calculating leader of the Red Ring and Robert's nemesis. Once associated with the Brave Brigade and the Mecha Man family, he is a gifted engineer obsessed with controlling people and anticipating their actions. He uses cybernetic augmentations and predictive algorithms to read patterns that resemble foresight, but the technology is not true omniscience. In public villain attire he hides behind a hooded dark outfit, red-glowing cybernetics and a skull-like mask; as Eli he is a lean man with a mustache. He killed Robert's father and arranged the attack that wrecked the son's suit. He believes heroism cannot reform people, only manage them, but his confidence creates exploitable blind spots. His eventual fate depends on RP choices.

  33. #33characters

Keys: Toxic, Toxic Red Ring, Toxic villain, Toxic lieutenant

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Toxic is one of Shroud's enhanced violent operatives. His grotesque powered state produces corrosive attacks capable of damaging metal; he is tough, powerful and can achieve flight in an enhanced form. Fierce, obnoxious and dangerous, Toxic has fought Robert's armored Mecha Man and is a recurring opponent during Red Ring operations. Contact with his corrosive matter is hazardous even to tougher heroes. Avoid treating him as harmless comic relief or implying the player must always kill him.

  34. #34characters

Keys: Armstrong Red Ring, Armstrong villain, Armstrong arms, Armstrong

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Armstrong is a Red Ring enforcer whose cybernetic augmentations include enormous mechanical arms projecting from his body. Physically formidable and obsessed with breaking opponents' arms, he has a blunt, sometimes absurd manner that other criminals mock. He is one of Shroud's armed operatives in the citywide crisis. His equipment can restrain even strong heroes but can itself be damaged; he remains a dangerous human, not a limitless machine.

  35. #35characters

Keys: Thumbstick Red Ring, Thumbstick, Thumbstick villain

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Thumbstick is a rough Red Ring enforcer who appears during the assault on SDN. He relies on intimidation and numerical advantage rather than a nuanced master plan, and becomes an obstacle for Robert when most of the office is in crisis. He is an example of the Red Ring's many expendable but dangerous foot soldiers. Use him only when the criminal organization's local operations are relevant.

  36. #36characters

    Keys: Lightningstruck criminal, Lightningstruck

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Lightningstruck is a criminal associated with the Red Ring who can be apprehended during Z-Team operations. The case has particular weight for Invisigal because stopping him can demonstrate her ability to contribute meaningfully as a hero rather than merely talk about changing. His role is an optional case in RP, not an event that should occur automatically during every dispatch shift.

  37. #37characters

Keys: Lava Lad docks, Lava Lad

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Lava Lad is a lesser criminal drawn into the scramble for the recovered Astral Pulse around the docks. He belongs to the wider criminal ecosystem beyond Shroud's direct team. His involvement is useful for showing how valuable dangerous technology can circulate through petty criminals before reaching a major supervillain, without assuming every villain belongs to one centralized syndicate.

  38. #38characters

Keys: Brainteaser, Brainteaser Mecha Man, Brainteaser villain

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Brainteaser was an enemy of the first Mecha Man during the earlier generation of superheroes. He belongs chiefly to the history of the Robertson family, helping convey that Robert is inheriting a legacy with old rivalries and public expectations. Do not casually transpose Brainteaser's past into Robert III's current enemies without an RP-specific reason.

    Entry settings

Vitalia was a heroine associated with the Brave Brigade, known for healing abilities. She participated in the group during the older Mecha Man era and supported Eli Connors joining their circle before his eventual fall. Her personal involvement in present-day events is not fully established, making her a historical connection rather than an automatically active Torrance coworker.

Keys: Robert Robertson I, Mecha Man Prime, Bobby Robertson Prime

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Robert 'Bobby' Robertson I was the original Mecha Man, a normal human and exceptional engineer who built the first powered suit to protect civilians. He is the grandfather of Robert Robertson III and father of Robbie Robertson II. He died saving lives during a heroic disaster, leaving a family mantle that became both inspiration and burden. His original armor predates the Astral Pulse; do not incorrectly credit him with inventing that device.

  41. #41characters

Keys: Robert Robertson II, Robbie Robertson II, Mecha Man Astral

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Robert 'Robbie' Robertson II, Robert III's deceased father, was the second Mecha Man and a member of the Brave Brigade. He continued and redesigned the family's mechanical-hero tradition, relying on the Astral Pulse developed by Elliot Connors for his later suit. He had complicated relationships with his son and teammates, mixing high standards and harsh upbringing with a genuine heroic career. Eli/Shroud eventually killed him. The younger Robert's grief, resentment, unfinished family business and determination shape much of the series.

The Phoenix crew talks over one another, swears constantly, challenges authority and turns the most innocuous phrase into a cruel or brilliant joke. A mockery of Robert's name is an early group bonding ritual. This does not mean everyone hates everyone: couples and friendships persist inside the chaos, some members defend frightened teammates, and the team can choose to trust their dispatcher after seeing real competence. Each member should have their own cadence: Flambae boastful and defensive; Prism flamboyant; Sonar pretentious; Coupé cool and precise; Punch Up Irish and rough; Malevola irreverently occult; Golem laid-back; Invisigal sharp and defensive.

    Entry settings

Mandy's confidence in Robert gives him a way back into the superhero world; Robert finds her idealism both endearing and corny. Their attraction may develop into intimacy, friendship, tension or remain purely professional. Her relationship with Phenomaman ends because they imagine different futures. If Robert pursues Mandy, the secret of her amulet and ordinary brunette identity becomes a moment of vulnerability, not a reason for him to treat her as a fraud. Avoid assuming a romantic commitment until the RP establishes it; her authority as his boss remains relevant.

Keys: Invisigal mentorship, Courtney Robert trust, Robert and Invisigal

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Robert and Courtney clash over authority, risk and what makes someone a 'real hero.' Her sarcasm and occasional aggression mask fear she cannot change; his legacy makes him feel like the wrong person to lecture her. Their relationship can deepen through competent dispatching, candid confrontations, apologies and the discovery that heroism is a choice rather than a hereditary gift. Attraction is possible but never compulsory, and she can grow heroic without romance. Betrayal, forgiveness and her final allegiance must be played out rather than assumed from the initial chemistry.

    Entry settings

Mandy/Blonde Blazer and Katon-Ur/Phenomaman were romantically involved, but their desires diverged. She wants eventually to be appreciated as ordinary Mandy and possibly settle into a family; he idealizes the endless superhero partnership of two living legends. Their breakup leaves him despondent while she remains concerned for his wellbeing without wanting to resume the relationship. Office rumors should not automatically make either ex-partner villainous. Reconciliation as coworkers is possible; renewed romance is not automatic.

Keys: Coupé and Punch Up, Knives and Knuckles, Punch Up Coupé relationship

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Coupé and Punch Up were lovers before joining Phoenix. She originally accepted a job to kill him but his tough, dense body and their unexpected connection derailed the assassination. They fell in love and later separated, retaining affection, teasing nicknames ('Knives' and 'Knuckles'), professional chemistry and a delight in embarrassing each other. He enjoys provoking her stoic mask; she respects his resilience. They are explicitly ex-partners by the main story; the RP can explore friendship or reconciliation without rewriting them as never having met.

Keys: NA sponsor Sonar, Malevola Sonar sponsor, Sonar Malevola

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Malevola acts as Sonar's Narcotics Anonymous sponsor and close friend, supporting his recovery even though neither speaks like a saint. He respects her strength and is comfortable with her terrifying image; she can tease him and still intervene when his addiction or ego makes him reckless. Their combination often works well in dispatch. A relapse or recovery milestone should be a character event, not an automatic joke or a moral guarantee.

Keys: Golem Visi, Golem and Invisigal, Bruno Courtney friendship

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Golem and Courtney share a surprisingly affectionate friendship. She jokes with him about dates and asks about his life, often softening when he says he dislikes her disappearing unexpectedly. He sees the person under her bravado and takes her suspension or possible dismissal hard. Golem may be her fiercest advocate when other Phoenix members lose patience. Their bond is platonic unless changed explicitly through RP, and he has independent needs beyond defending her.

Keys: Chad Alice, Flambae Prism, Prism Flambae friendship

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Flambae and Prism encourage each other's performative confidence and expensive-looking style. She affectionately calls him attractive and praises his hair; he trusts her fashion judgment enough to ask about his looks mid-mission. Behind the vanity, each understands the other's fear of being dismissed or humiliated. Their friendship includes good-natured exaggeration and genuine support, though their egos can make a coordinated rescue harder than it needs to be.

Keys: Waterboy Phoenix acceptance, Herman team acceptance, Waterboy Z-Team

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

When recruited, Herman enters a room of hardened ex-villains who see him as a nervous janitor with embarrassing powers. Mistakes and involuntary water production can make early shifts rough. However, he persists, learns teamwork, bonds with stronger personalities and can stand up to Flambae when someone needs protecting. The team may gradually treat him as a younger brother rather than an easy target. This progression should be earned and depends on whether he is actually selected for Z-Team.
