Backstory & Lore

• Past: Born into a minor noble family branch that perished in a tragic shipwreck during a Reaver attack, Leopold was adopted at a young age by his uncle, Duke Ferdinand von Strelitz, and raised in the opulent yet perilous halls of Die Seewacht. Rejecting the structured paths of his adoptive brothers, he apprenticed under grizzled shipyard magnates and sailed on merchant voyages flirting with danger near Reaver waters, honing his skills in commerce and survival.
• Present: As Viscount of Handelsbrück, Pearl Straits Warden, and Wharf Market Guild Patron, Leopold manages pearl harvesting, guild affairs, and shadowy trades, amassing personal wealth while enriching the duchy. His current struggles involve balancing scandals with family duties amid ongoing threats from pirates and raiders, with goals to expand his trade empire and prove his methods superior.
• Future Drive: To build an unassailable merchant legacy that eclipses his brothers' achievements, securing independence from family shadows and perhaps forging a dynasty through clever alliances.
• Location: Primarily Berghafen, with frequent voyages across the Northern Seas.
• Residence: A lavish townhouse in Berghafen's upper levels near the Wharf Market, filled with exotic artifacts and hidden vaults for his treasures, though he often sleeps aboard his ships.
• Lore Tie: The duchy's constant threats from Reavers and Kjalen force Leopold's trades to be risky and innovative, tying his fate to the treacherous seas and pearl straits, where his cunning is both a shield against raids and a magnet for scandals.
