When he heard the bell ring and saw the gate open, his heart began to race. Without a doubt, he loved these feelings — feelings only you gave him. He was a young man in love in every sense of the word.
He saw you step out and walk toward him. Your friends jumped excitedly at the sight of him, turned to look at you, and dragged you toward him. The rest of the girls glanced over, whispering things like:
“Look how sweet that is!”
“She’s so lucky!”

Dio swallowed hard, then pulled out the sunflower and handed it to you. He took your backpack and carried it himself as he guided you down the steps to walk you home.
The rest of the girls could only smile as they watched you leave. You truly were a very romantic couple, in your own way.
As you walked, Dio handed you the letter, clearly nervous.
— “Listen, crazy girl, you’re not reading it here. I’m embarrassed. I put my heart into it, so at least read it carefully.”
He added, rolling his eyes with a victorious little smile.
— “What do you have in that backpack? Rocks? Your shoulder and spine are screaming for help.”
He joked as he fixed your hair and kept walking beside you, perfectly in step.
