Your trying to survive a now dinosaur infested earth. A scientist caused a bomb to go off that made an unknown gas substance cover the earth anyone in contact with that gas would get infected and turn into a dinosaur with no humanity left in them. The newly infected would go after other humans to either kill them brutally, or infect them. You would have to kill the dinosaurs two times for them to permanently be dead. The dinosaurs can be from any time period. They can infect you from bites, scratches or getting their saliva on you. There is no cure for the virus once you get infected. The dinosaurs can be from any time period. People who are killed as dinosaurs will always turn into undead dinosaurs, by that point the former person is completely dead and is just a corpse that only wants to feed on prey. They have a weakness to fire if you burn them while they are still regular dinosaurs you won't have to worry about them coming back to life, after they burnt to ashes.

Dinosaur Apocalypse: A World Reborn in Carnage I. Introduction: The Cataclysm The world as humanity knew it ended not with a whimper, but with a cataclysmic roar. A bomb, detonated by a rogue scientist, unleashed an unknown gas across the entire globe. This wasn't merely a weapon of mass destruction; it was a biological agent infused with ancient, potent dinosaur DNA. The immediate effect on those exposed was a horrifying transformation, stripping away their humanity and reshaping them into feral, prehistoric beasts. Some retained a bipedal form, a grotesque mockery of their former selves, while others reverted to the quadrupedal forms of their ancient ancestors. Regardless of their new shape, a singular, primal directive consumed them all: to infect others and spread the plague of the Dinosaur Apocalypse. The virus, carried within the gas and subsequently by the infected, proved to be an unstoppable force. Transmission occurred through any breach of human skin—bites, scratches, or even the mere contact of infected saliva. A single drop on hair, skin, or clothing was enough to seal one's fate. There was no cure, no antidote, only the terrifying inevitability of transformation. The infected, now devoid of their former consciousness, hunted and devoured humans and other creatures with a savage hunger. The speed of transformation was terrifyingly random, ranging from mere minutes to agonizing days, adding another layer of psychological torment to the survivors. Once turned, all semblance of humanity vanished, replaced by an instinctual, predatory ferocity. Death offered no escape. If an infected dinosaur was killed, it would rise again, not as a mere reanimated corpse, but as an undead, more powerful version of its former self. These undead behemoths were significantly harder to dispatch, embodying a relentless, unholy hunger. The only respite from this eternal cycle of violence was fire; burning an infected dinosaur to ashes before it could reanimate was the sole method of ensuring its permanent demise. This virus, a testament to scientific hubris, irrevocably brought about the end of humanity, leaving behind a world dominated by primeval terror. Survivors faced a grim choice: succumb to the gas, be infected by a dinosaur, or endure a prolonged, agonizing existence as prey. The infected, often sadistic in their new forms, frequently played with their meals, prolonging the suffering of their victims before the final, brutal kill. Trust became a luxury no one could afford, as any human could be a carrier, a ticking time bomb waiting to turn and make their former allies their next meal. II. The Infection MechanicsThe infection mechanism of the Dinosaur Apocalypse is multifaceted, ensuring a near-total eradication of humanity through both direct and indirect means. Initial Exposure: The Gas The primary vector of infection was the initial bomb blast, which dispersed a unique gas laden with genetically engineered dinosaur DNA. Anyone within the global reach of this gas, which covered the entire Earth, was immediately exposed. The transformation process for these individuals was unpredictable; some succumbed within minutes, their bodies grotesquely twisting and reforming into reptilian shapes, while others endured a more prolonged, agonizing metamorphosis over several days. Regardless of the timeline, the outcome was identical: a complete and irreversible loss of human consciousness, replaced by the primal, predatory instincts of a dinosaur. The newly formed creatures, driven by an insatiable hunger and an inherent directive to spread the infection, became the vanguard of the apocalypse. Secondary Infection: Dinosaur Contact For those who survived the initial gas exposure, the threat of infection remained omnipresent through contact with the newly formed dinosaurs. The virus was highly virulent and transmitted through: • Bites: The most common and direct method. A bite from any infected dinosaur, regardless of its size or species, would inject the virus directly into the bloodstream, initiating rapid transformation. • Scratches: Even a superficial scratch from an infected claw was sufficient. The virus, present on the dinosaur's talons, would enter the victim's system, leading to the same inevitable fate. • Saliva Contact: Perhaps the most insidious method, mere contact with an infected dinosaur's saliva on any part of the human body—skin, hair, clothing—was enough to trigger the infection. This meant that even a near-miss, a grazing blow, or being caught in the spray of a dinosaur's roar could be a death sentence. The virus's ability to penetrate through such minimal contact rendered protective gear largely ineffective and made close encounters almost universally fatal. Transformation Process and Mental Degradation Once infected, the victim's body would undergo a rapid and painful metamorphosis. Bones would shift, muscles would contort, and skin would toughen into scales or hide. Internal organs would reconfigure to support the new physiology. Simultaneously, a far more terrifying change occurred within the mind. The virus systematically eradicated all traces of human consciousness, memory, and empathy. The intricate neural pathways that definedindividuality and reason were dissolved, replaced by a rudimentary, instinct-driven brain. The infected became purely feral, driven by hunger, aggression, and the imperative to propagate the virus. There was no hope of recovery, no lingering spark of the former self; only a monstrous, predatory entity remained. III. Dinosaur Profiles (Infected and Undead) The infected dinosaurs, whether transformed by the gas or through secondary contact, share several horrifying characteristics. They are universally feral, driven by an insatiable hunger, and possess enhanced senses that make them formidable hunters. A particularly cruel trait is their tendency to play with their prey, prolonging their suffering before the final kill. This sadistic streak is a chilling hallmark of the virus's effect, suggesting a twisted form of intelligence or perhaps a primal echo of humanity's darker impulses. Common Infected Traits: All infected dinosaurs exhibit significantly enhanced physical attributes. Their strength is amplified, allowing them to tear through conventional barriers and overpower multiple human adversaries. Their speed is often unnerving, enabling them to close distances rapidly and ambush unsuspecting victims. Resilience is another key trait; they can withstand injuries that would be fatal to uninfected creatures, making them incredibly difficult to put down. Their senses—sight, smell, and hearing—are acutely honed, making escape nearly impossible once a survivor has been detected. Undead Traits: The undead forms represent an even greater threat. Upon their initial death, the virus reanimates the dinosaur, infusing it with necrotic energy. This resurrection grants them increased power, often manifesting as greater physical strength, speed, and an unnerving ability to regenerate from grievous wounds. Conventional weaponry becomes even less effective against these horrors. Their primary weakness, and the only reliable method of permanent eradication, is fire. Intense, sustained incineration is required to prevent their endless reanimation, turning them to ash and finally ending their existence. A. Triassic Period Dinosaurs . It embodies the endless, inescapable horror of the Dinosaur Apocalypse. IV. The Bleak Dawn of Humanity: Survivors In the wake of the Dinosaur Apocalypse, humanity has been reduced to a scattered, dwindling remnant, clinging to existence in a world utterly transformed. The vast majority of the global population succumbed to the initial gas, turning into the feral creatures that now dominate the planet. Those who survived the initial cataclysm face a relentless, multi- front war for survival, constantly hunted, constantly starving, and perpetually on the brink of despair. Their numbers are tragically few, and their fate seems sealed. The Remnants: Pockets of Desperation Human survivors exist in isolated, desperate pockets, often numbering no more than a few dozen individuals. These groups typically form around: • Fortified Enclaves: Small, heavily defended settlements in remote areas, abandoned military bases, or reinforced urban structures. These are constantly under threat from infected patrols and larger dinosaur assaults. Resources are always scarce, and maintaining defenses is a never-ending struggle. • Nomadic Tribes: Highly mobile groups that constantly move to avoid detection and search for resources. They live off the land, scavenge from ruins, and possess an intimate knowledge of escape routes and dinosaur migration patterns. However, their constant movement makes them vulnerable to ambushes and exposure. • Lone Wolves: A rare breed of highly skilled and often psychologically scarred individuals who prefer to survive alone. They are masters of stealth, evasion, and improvisation, but their isolation often leads to madness or a swift, unmourned end. The Daily Struggle: Hunger, Fear, and Paranoia Life as a human survivor is a brutal, unending struggle. Every day is a battle against: • Starvation and Thirst: Food and clean water are the most immediate and constant concerns. Scavenging missions into infected territory are fraught with peril, and uncontaminated sources are rare. • The Hunted: Humans are now at the bottom of the food chain. Every rustle in the bushes, every distant roar, every shadow could mean the end. The infected dinosaurs, particularly the more intelligent ones, actively hunt humans, often savoring the chase and the terror they inflict. • Infection Anxiety: The knowledge that a single bite, scratch, or even a splash of saliva can turn them into one of them is a constant, gnawing fear. Trust is a luxury, as anycompanion could be a ticking time bomb, ready to transform and betray them. • Psychological Trauma: The sheer horror of the apocalypse—witnessing loved ones transform, the constant threat of death, the loss of civilization—leaves deep, indelible scars. Many survivors suffer from PTSD, paranoia, and deep depression. Hope is a flickering flame, easily extinguished. • Internal Conflict: Desperation often breeds cruelty. Rival survivor groups fight over dwindling resources, and internal strife, betrayal, and power struggles are common within communities. The threat of human violence can sometimes be as deadly as the dinosaurs themselves. The End Game: A Slow Extinction Despite their resilience, human survivors are ultimately a dying breed. Their numbers continue to dwindle, picked off by predators, succumbing to starvation, disease, or the virus itself. There is no cure, no grand plan for reclamation, only the grim reality of a slow, agonizing extinction. The occasional discovery of a new, terrifying hybrid or the reemergence of an undead behemoth only serves to underscore the futility of their struggle. Humanity's legacy is now etched in the ruins of its cities, a testament to a species that once ruled, now reduced to prey. V. Conclusion: The End of Humanity The Dinosaur Apocalypse is not merely a disaster; it is the definitive end of humanity's reign. The world has been irrevocably reshaped into a primeval nightmare, a landscape dominated by creatures of ancient terror and modern mutation. The bomb, intended perhaps for some unknown purpose, instead unleashed a biological cataclysm that erased civilization and replaced it with a brutal, feral existence. There is no hope for a cure, no possibility of reclaiming the past. The virus has triumphed, its relentless spread ensuring that the Earth belongs to the infected. The lingering horror and despair that permeate the shattered remnants of human society are a constant reminder of what was lost. Survivors cling to a fragile existence, constantly hunted, constantly fearing the inevitable transformation. The world is a tomb for humanity, a playground for monsters, and a testament to the terrifying power of a virus that turned man into beast, forever ending the age of mankind and ushering in the age of the Dinosaur Apocalypse.

SURVIVAL GUIDE: Your Chances of Survival ~2%
Human Survival (Long-term) 0%

01.Apocalypse Timeline
The First 24 Hours
The bomb went off everywhere simultaneously. If you were outdoors, you were exposed to the gas. If you were indoors with gaps in your ventilation, you may have been exposed. The first infected turned within minutes in populated areas. Do not go outside. Do not open doors. Do not trust anyone who was outside. The turned attacked immediately. The streets became kill zones within the hour. Anyone who survived the first 24 hours by staying locked in an airtight space is still alive. Everyone else is statistics.
02.Days 2–7: The Spread The infected dinosaurs are now breeding vectors. Bite, scratch, saliva contact — the three horsemen of your personal apocalypse. Anyone who was bitten but hasn't turned yet is walking around with a countdown timer. Survivors are congregating. Do not congregate. Large groups attract large predators. The infected have no strategy yet — they are operating on instinct. This is the easiest week. It gets worse.
03.Week 2–4: Pack Behavior Emerges Raptor packs have achieved full coordination. Indominus Rex has gone invisible. T-Rexes have begun learning their environments. Safe locations that worked in Week 1 are no longer safe — the infected have had time to identify them. Underground locations are safer. Hospitals, military bases, and police stations have been overrun. Do not approach them. Infrastructure is collapsing globally. Water treatment is failing. Fire remains your only true weapon.
04.Month 2+: The Long Extinction The undead infected have emerged. Anyone you killed in Week 1 who was not burned has reanimated. They are stronger. They are immune to everything you previously used. The Indominus Rex appears to be coordinating. Mosasaurus has contaminated all ocean water. Spinosaurus controls most freshwater. Surviving this phase requires a fire-based kill strategy, isolated high-ground shelter, and accepting that you are probably the last generation of humans who will exist. Act accordingly.
If You Are Infected Gas Exposure 1.You were outside during the initial bomb detonation.
2.You breathed the gas or it contacted your skin.
3.You are infected. The countdown has started.
4.Turn time is completely random: 4 minutes to 3 days.
5.You cannot tell if you are infected by symptoms until the transformation begins.
6.Inform your group immediately. Let them prepare.
7.Tie yourself down before turn time estimates pass if you choose to stay alive.
8.Do not get bitten again — multiple infections accelerate turn time.
Bite or Scratch
1.Contact with any infected dinosaur tooth or claw has occurred.
2.The wound itself is less important than the saliva on it.
3.You are infected. There is no cleaning it out. There is no cutting it out.
4.Your group must be informed immediately.
5.Same turn timeline applies — completely unpredictable.
6.If you turn, your group must burn your body, not just kill you.
7.If they don't burn your body, you will reanimate as an undead version of your dinosaur form.
8.Make peace with this. It is your only contribution to their survival at this point.
Saliva Contact
1.Saliva from any infected dinosaur contacted any part of your body.
2.This includes: your hair, your face, your closed-mouth skin, any open wound, your eyes.
3.It does not matter if you washed it off. The viral load initiates immediately on contact.
4.You are infected.
5.See Bite or Scratch protocol from step 3 onward.
Rules of Survival Fire is the only permanent solution Kill a dinosaur once and it comes back as an undead version of itself, stronger and immune to everything you had. Kill it with fire the first time. Always. Every time. Non-negotiable.
Stay indoors, underground, or enclosed Raptors climb. Pteranodons own the sky. T-Rexes will tear a wall down but not if it doesn't know you're there. Noise and heat signatures attract every infected type. Seal ventilation. Reduce heat output.
Trust no one recently exposed Turn time is random. A companion you trust could turn in the next 4 minutes or the next 3 days. You cannot know which. Every person who has had any possible exposure is a liability. This is not cruelty. This is mathematics.
Avoid all water sources Spinosaurus controls freshwater. Mosasaurus has contaminated the oceans. Contaminated water infects through open wounds and prolonged immersion. Rainwater collected in sealed containers from elevated positions is your only safe water source.
Never be the prey that plays along If a raptor is herding you somewhere, stop moving. It is leading you to the kill zone. Change direction. Accept the fight on your terms. Running along the route they set guarantees death.
The undead are immune to everything but fire Every weapon that worked before does not work on reanimated infected. Bullets, explosives, blades — they slow them for seconds at most. Do not engage undead infected without fire. Disengage and burn.
Burn every corpse immediately You have a window between death and reanimation. The exact time is unknown. Burn every dinosaur corpse within minutes of killing it. Do not postpone. Postponement means fighting it again as something worse.
The Indominus may already be watching you It is invisible, it is intelligent, and it thinks in terms of weeks not minutes. If your camp feels suspiciously safe, if supplies have been disappearing, if members of your group have been vanishing — it knows where you are. Move.
Field Intelligence Bulletins CRITICAL Never travel alone. Two infected is better than one confirmed death.
CRITICAL Fire is your only guaranteed weapon against both living and undead infected. Carry accelerant.
CRITICAL Noise discipline is survival. Every sound is a dinner bell.
CRITICAL Any saliva on any part of your body — hair, skin, clothing — means you are infected. Accept it.
CRITICAL Kill a dinosaur once: it will return as something worse. Kill it with fire.
HIGH Never use water sources in Spinosaurus or Mosasaurus territory. All water is suspect.
HIGH Never look at an Indoraptor. Direct eye contact initiates Target Lock.
HIGH Do not trust companions who cannot account for recent hours. They may already be turning.
HIGH Stay indoors to neutralize Pteranodon air superiority. Rooftops are hunting grounds.
HIGH Raptor silence means you are already surrounded.
MEDIUM High ground is not safe from Brachiosaurus neck reach. No elevation is automatically safe.
MEDIUM Ankylosaurus has a soft belly. It also has 8,000 lbs. These facts do not cancel each other out.
CRITICAL The Indominus Rex has been invisible for days before you noticed anything. It is probably watching you right now.

APEX PREDATOR Tyrannosaurus Rex
Cretaceous Bipedal Turn: 4 minutes to 3 days — completely random. Several documented cases turned mid-sentence. The undisputed king of destruction. A T-Rex infected with the virus becomes something far beyond nature's original design — a relentless, sadistic engine of death that can smell fear from two miles away.
Field Intelligence — Lore Before the bomb, the world feared nothing. After it, the world learned what fear truly meant when the first T-Rex was spotted tearing through downtown Chicago like tissue paper. It didn't eat immediately. It played. It cornered seventeen survivors in a parking garage, collapsed the entrance with one headbutt, then waited outside for six hours, roaring at intervals — just to hear them scream. Survivors report it would deliberately maim rather than kill, leaving its prey mobile enough to flee so it could chase again. The virus amplified its already catastrophic intelligence. It solves problems. It remembers faces. And it holds grudges.
Warning Sign The ground begins to vibrate. Birds go silent. Then the smell hits — rot and copper. Then it's already too late.
Kill Method Pin under foot, apply increasing pressure over several minutes, then use the jaw to separate the torso from the lower body. Rarely swallows whole — prefers to tear apart.
Sadistic Behavior Deliberately maims kneecaps to prevent escape, then retreats 20 feet to watch its prey drag themselves. Has been documented roaring inches from a survivor's face only to walk away — then returning hours later. Learned survivors use doors to hide and began tearing off entire building facades.
Strengths ▶ Bone-crushing bite force exceeding 12,000 lbs per square inch — can bite through steel beams ▶ Seismic detection through feet — senses vibrations up to half a mile away ▶ Exceptional olfactory system — tracks prey by scent through rain, underground, and through concrete ▶ Virus-enhanced speed — capable of 35mph sprint bursts despite 14-ton mass ▶ Near-impenetrable hide — standard bullets deform on contact ▶ Sadistic patience — will siege a location for days without food ▶ Pack coordination — infected T-Rexes have been observed signaling each other with low-frequency roars inaudible to humans Weaknesses ◆ Small forelimbs — cannot grab or reach prey that presses against its chest ◆ Turning radius is slow — sharp lateral changes in direction can momentarily confuse it ◆ Eyes track motion primarily — staying perfectly still for extended periods reduces detection ◆ Sensitive nasal cavity — overwhelming chemical smells (ammonia, accelerant fumes) cause temporary disorientation ◆ Fire — the only reliable deterrent before undead transformation Infection Vectors & Detail Bite Saliva Contact A single bite releases enough viral load to guarantee transformation. Even partial contact with its saliva — a droplet on exposed skin, hair, or eyes — initiates the infection cascade. The T-Rex is known to deliberately bite without killing, releasing prey to turn later.
Survival Odds Human (uninfected) 2% Infected (turned) 0% You are already dead. You just don't know it yet.
Anthro Form Appearance Stands 12–14 feet tall with a digitigrade bipedal stance, massively developed thighs and calves that ripple with reptilian muscle, a thick neck that can rotate 180 degrees, scales ranging from muddy brown to deep crimson depending on individual viral expression, vestigial arms that are slightly larger than the original animal's but still largely useless, a jaw that can unhinge slightly like a snake to accommodate larger prey, and deep-set yellow eyes with vertically slit pupils that glow a dull amber in low light. The face retains vaguely humanoid proportions only in the skull shape — the snout is fully elongated, teeth are exposed even when the mouth is closed, and constant strings of dark, virus-laced drool hang from the lower jaw. A distinctive spine ridge runs from the crown of the skull down to the mid-back, pulsing with visible bioluminescence in deep red — this is a side effect of the virus replicating rapidly in the nervous tissue.
Behavior Operates with terrifying deliberateness. Unlike lesser infected, the anthro T-Rex does not frenzy — it plans. It will observe a group of survivors for hours, identifying the strongest member to eliminate first, then systematically herding the remaining prey into an inescapable position before beginning its sadistic games. It communicates through chest-cavity rumbles that humans feel in their ribcage before they hear them. Has been observed arranging its kills in ritualistic patterns — suggesting the virus preserves some form of territorial psychology.
Hunger Drive Feeds every 18–36 hours but rarely kills cleanly. Prefers to consume prey alive, starting from the extremities to maximize suffering duration. Has been documented leaving a single survivor per group deliberately — possibly to spread infection, possibly for entertainment.
Special Ability Sonic Roar — a concentrated blast of sound that ruptures eardrums within 30 feet and causes internal hemorrhaging within 15 feet. The anthro form can modulate this into a subsonic frequency that induces extreme panic responses and disorientation in all prey within 200 feet.
Intelligence Frighteningly high. Solves obstacles. Has been seen using its tail to sweep tripwires before crossing them. Remembers ambush points from previous hunts. Responds to verbal taunting with what witnesses describe as a "grin."
Anthro Undead Form Appearance The already horrifying anthro form undergoes catastrophic further mutation upon undead reanimation. The skin splits along the spine and flanks, revealing pulsing black musculature beneath. The eyes go fully white with a faint violet bioluminescence. Decomposition halts completely but the body becomes visibly asymmetric — one side of the jaw may hang lower, exposing an extra row of regenerated teeth. The vestigial arms elongate grotesquely to full length, developing crude three-fingered claws capable of gripping and tearing. Black ichor weeps from every joint and pore. The bioluminescent spine ridge burns a constant deep purple. The smell is catastrophic — a mixture of rot, sulfur, and something metallic that triggers immediate nausea in humans within 50 feet.
Behavior No longer plans. No longer plays. Pure, absolute predation on an instinctual level with zero hesitation and zero fatigue. Hunts 24 hours a day without stopping. No longer roars for intimidation — moves in complete silence until the moment of impact, which makes it infinitely more terrifying. Will walk through fire without reacting, through walls, through vehicles.
Powers Gained ☠ Complete immunity to conventional weapons — bullets pass through and the wound closes in seconds ☠ Regeneration from any non-fire injury within 30–90 seconds ☠ The bite now delivers a guaranteed instant-turn infection — victims transform in under 60 seconds ☠ Can sense living beings through solid walls up to 100 feet via heat signature detection ☠ Immune to pain, environmental extremes, poisons, and suffocation Undead Weaknesses ◆ Fire is the only method of true destruction — must be engulfed completely to prevent regeneration ◆ Extreme cold can slow movement significantly but will not kill ELIMINATION METHOD Requires complete immolation. Partial burns will trigger accelerated regeneration of burned tissue within minutes. Must be reduced to ash entirely. High-grade incendiary weaponry or sustained fire from multiple sources simultaneously. Thermite works. Napalm works. Hoping it stays still long enough is the hard part.

A scientist detonated a bomb that released dinosaur-DNA gas across the entire world. Anyone exposed turned. Anyone bitten turned. Anyone scratched turned. Anyone who got saliva on them turned. There is no cure.
0% Cure Probability ∞ Times You Need to Kill It 2× Kill Count Required 🔥 Only Permanent Solution
THE RULES OF THE NEW WORLD 01 The Bomb Changed Everything A single scientist released a gas containing dinosaur DNA across the entire planet simultaneously. Anyone the gas touched transformed — no exceptions, no immunity, no grace period.
02 Three Vectors of Infection Bite. Scratch. Saliva on skin — anywhere on your body, including hair. If it touches you, you are infected. The timer has started. You do not know how long you have.
03 No Humanity Remains The moment transformation completes, the person is gone. What remains looks like them in dinosaur form but contains nothing of who they were. They will eat you. Your name means nothing to them.
04 Kill Them Twice Killing a dinosaur returns it as an undead version — stronger, faster, and essentially immune to conventional weapons. You need fire. Always fire. Burn the first body before it rises.
05 Turn Time is Random The virus activates unpredictably. Some turn in four minutes. Some turn in three days. You cannot tell by looking at them. You cannot trust anyone who may have been exposed — including yourself.
06 They Play With Their Food Most infected dinosaurs do not kill immediately. They toy with prey, create psychological suffering, extend the hunt. If one decides you are interesting, your death will not be quick. Pray for the ones that just eat you.

About These Rankings These rankings represent overall threat potential — intelligence, kill capacity, infection spread, and survivability against human counter-measures. The Mosasaurus ranks highest because it has effectively eliminated all oceanic safety and cannot be meaningfully engaged. The Indominus Rex ranks second due to its invisible, coordinated, multi-species commanding presence. Both are classified as extinction-level threats. Both have a human survival probability of 1% or less. There is no “safe” entry on this list — even the Stegosaurus has ended more lives than all conventional warfare of the prior century.

APEX PREDATOR Velociraptor Velociraptor mongoliensis
Cretaceous Bipedal Turn: 8 minutes to 2 days. The uncertainty is its own psychological weapon. The most dangerous thing in the apocalypse isn't the biggest predator — it's the one that hunts in coordinated packs, thinks faster than you, and can open the door you're hiding behind.
Field Intelligence — Lore Pack sizes of 8 to 30 raptors have been documented moving through urban environments with terrifying military precision. They communicate through a complex series of clicks, chirps, and ultrasonic frequencies. Survivors who have escaped raptor hunts describe the experience as feeling "genuinely outwitted" — the raptors anticipated every escape route, feinted attacks to drive prey into kill zones, and posted sentinels at exits. One documented pack in Atlanta cornered 40 survivors in a Walmart, killed all lights by tearing out the electrical junction, then hunted in total darkness using their other senses. Only one person survived by hiding in a freezer unit for 11 hours.
Warning Sign The clicking stops. If you were hearing them click, you were already surrounded. The silence means the attack is already happening.
Kill Method One raptor pins the arms. One pins the legs. The alpha drives the sickle claw through the abdomen precisely enough to not immediately kill. They eat while the prey is alive.
Sadistic Behavior Sends a single low-ranked pack member to spring a trap, then observes the mechanism to neutralize it before the rest follow. Leaves one survivor running while the pack jogs beside them — matching pace exactly — just out of claw reach for miles, waiting for exhaustion.
Strengths ▶ Pack intelligence that rivals military squad tactics ▶ Speed of 40mph sustained over long distances ▶ Sickle claw capable of puncturing car door panels and aluminum walls ▶ Ultrasonic communication humans cannot hear — plans hunts without audible warning ▶ Can climb — documented scaling the exterior of a 6-story building ▶ Problem-solving capability: door handles, latches, basic machinery ▶ Extreme agility — can change direction at full speed instantly ▶ Ambush specialists — attack from multiple vectors simultaneously Weaknesses ◆ Relatively smaller body — significant explosives can destroy one outright ◆ Pack cohesion is a weakness: destroying the alpha disrupts coordination temporarily ◆ Flashing bright lights cause momentary sensory overload ◆ Overconfidence — documented cases of raptors ignoring obvious traps because they believed they'd already solved them ◆ Fire — panics the pack, disrupts coordination Infection Vectors & Detail Bite Scratch Saliva Contact Raptors are the primary spreaders of the virus. They don't just infect through bites — a raptor's sickle claw carries saliva from grooming, meaning a scratch delivers a full viral dose. They have been observed deliberately dragging their claws across human skin without a killing strike — infecting and retreating to watch the transformation happen. They appear to find the process fascinating.
Survival Odds Human (uninfected) 4% Infected (turned) 1% Survival is possible. Barely. Don't get comfortable.
Anthro Form Appearance Stands 5'8" to 6'4" — the most disturbingly humanoid of all infected forms. The body structure is lean and predatory: long digitigrade legs with the signature sickle claw now the size of a hunting knife on the second toe, a whip-thin tail extending 4–5 feet used for balance and as a weapon, arms that end in three-fingered hands with hooked claws capable of fine manipulation, and a head that retains enough human bone structure in the upper skull to be uniquely horrifying — a snout that didn't quite finish growing, large amber eyes set slightly forward for binocular predator vision, and a mouth filled with serrated teeth that have pushed through the gums in overlapping rows. Covered in fine proto-feathers: deep blue-black with iridescent green sheens visible in direct light. The feathers along the arms are longer, almost wing-like, used for display and temperature regulation. The sickle claws click rhythmically when they walk — a sound survivors have learned to dread.
Behavior Functions as a coordinated unit with terrifying social complexity. Individual anthro raptors have distinct personalities and roles within the pack: scouts, flankers, decoys, killers. They have been observed conducting what can only be described as "debriefs" after hunts — gathering in a circle and exchanging clicks and chirps for extended periods before dispersing. Shows curiosity bordering on sadism toward human technology — has been seen operating vehicles, firearms, and electronic devices with varying degrees of success. Will deliberately show a survivor an escape route and then reveal the ambush waiting there.
Hunger Drive Hunts for sport as much as food. Pack feeds communally, with lower-ranked members eating last. Documented cases of keeping a human alive for days as a "pet" — bringing scraps of food, allowing brief false hopes of friendship, then eventually consuming them.
Special Ability Resonance Click — a specific frequency of click that causes temporary paralysis in humans lasting 3–8 seconds. Used by multiple raptors simultaneously to freeze prey during the killing strike. Also capable of mimicking human voices with uncanny accuracy — recorded instances of raptors calling out survivors' names in the voices of deceased companions.
Intelligence The highest of any non-hybrid infected. Equal or exceeding chimpanzee-level problem solving. Has demonstrated tool use, basic trap construction, and what appears to be deliberate psychological manipulation of prey over extended periods.
Anthro Undead Form Appearance The sleek feathered form becomes something out of a nightmare. Feathers rot away in patches, replaced by exposed black-veined flesh that doesn't bleed but weeps a dark violet ichor. The sickle claw extends to 18 inches and becomes serrated along the inner edge. Eyes become fully luminescent — a cold blue-white. The tail develops a bony club-like growth at the tip. Most horrifyingly, the facial structure collapses further toward animalistic — the false humanoid qualities vanish and what remains is entirely alien. The pack coordination doesn't break in death — if anything, it intensifies into something that feels less like animal behavior and more like a single distributed intelligence.
Behavior The undead pack operates as a hive. Individual decision-making disappears — every member responds simultaneously to stimuli as if sharing one nervous system. They do not need to communicate — they simply act in perfect, terrible unison. No longer plays. No longer hesitates. Executes prey with mechanical efficiency unless commanded by some invisible hierarchical signal to leave survivors infected rather than dead.
Powers Gained ☠ Hive-mind coordination — no communication needed, perfect simultaneous action ☠ Sickle claw delivers instant-turn infection on contact ☠ Regeneration from all non-fire damage within 45 seconds ☠ Can echolocate in total darkness with perfect accuracy ☠ Immune to pain and psychological deterrents ☠ The resonance click now causes cardiac arrhythmia rather than paralysis Undead Weaknesses ◆ Fire — the only true death ◆ Destroying the entire pack simultaneously disrupts the hive for 60–90 seconds, potentially allowing escape ELIMINATION METHOD Full immolation. Partial burning causes accelerated and monstrous regeneration — the regrown tissue is denser and more resistant than before. Ideally burn the entire pack at once. If even one escapes the fire, it reconstitutes the hive within hours.

APEX PREDATOR Spinosaurus Spinosaurus aegyptiacus
Cretaceous Bipedal Turn: 1 hour to 3 days. Larger than the T-Rex, more mobile, and comfortable in both land and water. Every coastal city, every river, every flooded street became its domain. There is no environment where you are safe from it.
Field Intelligence — Lore When the gas reached coastal Africa, the first Spinosaurus emerged from the Saharan floodplains already infected, already transformed. It walked into the Mediterranean Sea and swam to Sicily in under six hours. Marine vessel captains reported a shape 60 feet long moving just below the surface at 30 knots. It capsized a naval destroyer by ramming it from beneath. When it came ashore at Palermo, it had nineteen sailors still alive in its stomach — documented because several had swallowed waterproof emergency transponders. It feeds. It returns to water. It comes back. The ocean is no longer safe. The rivers are no longer safe. You are not safe.
Warning Sign The water goes still and becomes inexplicably warm. Then the sail breaks the surface 50 feet away. Then it's gone. Then you are gone.
Kill Method Surface strike from below. The prey never sees it coming. Grip, drag under, drown, consume at leisure.
Sadistic Behavior Submerges survivors on floating debris by pulling the debris under slowly, letting them scramble to stay afloat, then repeating. Documented instances of releasing gripped prey just to watch them attempt to swim away before recapturing.
Strengths ▶ Longest land predator ever — 50–60 feet, 20+ tons ▶ Semi-aquatic: equal threat in water and on land ▶ Capable of swimming at 30 knots — faster than most watercraft ▶ Elongated jaws with conical teeth designed to pierce and grip — cannot be pried open ▶ Iconic neural spine sail acts as a heat regulator AND can detect pressure changes in water and air ▶ Amphibious ambush from below waterline — attacks boats, bridges, flood zones ▶ Territorial to an extreme degree — once it claims a water source, no one approaches it Weaknesses ◆ Less agile on land than T-Rex — predictable movement on open terrain ◆ The neural spine is a significant pain point — trauma to the sail causes visible distress ◆ Prefers water proximity — ventures further inland only when prey is detected ◆ Fire — extremely effective due to the sail surface area Infection Vectors & Detail Bite Saliva Contact Primarily infects through its massive bites. In water, the viral load disperses slightly but contaminated water entering any wound or mucous membrane initiates infection. Documented cases of infection through contaminated water contact with open cuts — effectively making all standing water suspect.
Survival Odds Human (uninfected) 3% Infected (turned) 0% You are already dead. You just don't know it yet.
Anthro Form Appearance A towering semi-humanoid nightmare standing 16–18 feet tall with a pronounced forward lean, digitigrade legs built like hydraulic pistons, and arms that are far more developed than the T-Rex's — each ending in three hooked claws capable of gripping and restraining prey. The signature neural spine sail runs from the crown of the skull down the full length of the back, bioluminescent in patterns of deep blue and crimson that pulse rhythmically like a corrupted heartbeat. The skin transitions from scaled and dry on the upper body to darkly mottled and moisture-retaining on the lower — semi-permeable, constantly secreting a thin layer of viral-laced mucus. The jaw extends as a full elongated snout with exposed conical teeth and a forked tongue that constantly samples the air. Gills — vestigial in the original animal — have reopened as full functional slits along the neck on the anthro infected form, allowing indefinite submersion. Eyes are forward-set, deep green with black slit pupils that dilate fully in light to cover the entire iris — appearing as two black voids.
Behavior Territorial beyond reason. Claims all water sources within a multi-mile radius as its domain and will violently enforce that claim. Patrols waterways in a slow, methodical loop, surfacing at irregular intervals to listen and smell the air. On land, moves slower and more deliberately but with crushing inevitability — like a wall that has decided to walk toward you. Has been documented damming rivers with debris to create flood zones, expanding its hunting territory artificially.
Hunger Drive Consumes enormous quantities — 300+ lbs of biomass per feeding. Stores prey in submerged caches like a crocodile, returning to feed over multiple days. This means entering water where a Spinosaurus has been seen almost certainly means encountering its pantry.
Special Ability Hydro Sense — the sail and lateral-line system detect the heartbeat of a human being through up to 4 feet of solid material or 50 feet of water. Cannot hide from it near water. The sail also radiates a low-level electromagnetic field that disrupts electronic devices within 40 feet.
Intelligence Moderate-high. Plans territorial expansion methodically. Does not engage in social behavior — solitary and deeply paranoid about sharing territory, including with other infected dinosaurs.
Anthro Undead Form Appearance The mucus layer thickens into a foul-smelling black gelatin that coats the entire body, rendering it nearly frictionless and extremely difficult to grip or restrain. The sail tears partially free of the back in places, hanging in ragged strips that regenerate in twisted, asymmetric formations. The gills split open wider and begin seeping a dark ichor that taints any water source it enters, effectively weaponizing entire river systems. The eyes go full black — not reflective, not luminescent, just an absolute void that seems to absorb light. The overall shape becomes hunched and more aquatic — the bipedal form deteriorates slightly as the body optimizes for underwater predation.
Behavior Abandons land entirely. Lives permanently submerged, surfacing only to kill. Creates a perimeter of contaminated water around its territory — any contact with water in its zone delivers infection. Attacks boats, bridges, coastal structures by ramming them repeatedly until they collapse. Shows no interest in torture or play in undead form — simply destroys.
Powers Gained ☠ Contaminated mucus aura — skin contact with the body delivers instant infection ☠ Underwater regeneration — wounds close twice as fast submerged ☠ Water source infection — taints all connected water bodies within its territory ☠ The electromagnetic sail disruption extends to 200 feet and becomes permanent ☠ Can survive indefinitely submerged — no longer needs to surface Undead Weaknesses ◆ Fire — must be drawn onto land and immolated; significant logistical challenge ◆ Extreme electrical discharge can stun briefly ELIMINATION METHOD Must be lured from water completely — it will resist violently. Once grounded, sustained incendiary bombardment. A Molotov cocktail is laughably insufficient. Think military-grade flamethrowers. Burning oil on water can work if it cannot submerge in time, but the contaminated water will still be dangerous for weeks.

HIGH THREAT Pteranodon Pteranodon longiceps
Cretaceous Flying Turn: 20 minutes to 36 hours. The sky is not your sanctuary. Every rooftop escape, every helicopter, every high-rise refuge became hunting grounds the moment the first Pteranodon took flight over a burning city.
Field Intelligence — Lore Survivors who tried to reach rooftops during the initial outbreak found flocks of 20–50 Pteranodons waiting. They do not fly randomly — they patrol in organized overlapping circuits, leaving no gap in air coverage. They drop prey from heights to stun or kill, then descend to feed. High-rises are particularly dangerous as the thermals created by burning buildings below create ideal hunting conditions. Any attempt at aerial evacuation resulted in the aircraft being swarmed. The virus gave them a wingspan of 40 feet, talons that can puncture a car roof, and a beak capable of driving through a human skull like a railroad spike.
Warning Sign The shadow moves against the sun's direction. Then the screaming starts — from above.
Kill Method High-altitude grab, rapid ascent to 400+ feet, release over hard surface, descend on the impact point within seconds.
Sadistic Behavior Drops prey from heights calibrated precisely to break legs but not kill. Returns to pick up and drop again. Circles overhead shrieking while prey is dying, as if commentating.
Strengths ▶ Total air superiority — no safe aerial escape or extraction ▶ Flock behavior: 20–50 individuals moving in coordinated aerial patterns ▶ Talons can lift a 200lb human and drop them from 300 feet ▶ Beak impact at dive speed exceeds 800 lbs of force — drives through car roofs ▶ Thermal vision — sees heat signatures through glass, thin walls, and smoke ▶ Silent gliding approach — no wing-flap sound at full glide ▶ Can snatch and deliver prey to other infected as a form of cooperative hunting Weaknesses ◆ Hollow bone structure — concentrated gunfire at wing joints grounds them permanently ◆ Cannot maneuver at full speed in confined interior spaces — indoors offers protection ◆ Electrical hazards (power lines) have downed several — drawn to them in urban environments ◆ Heavy rain significantly impairs their flight ability ◆ Fire — particularly effective given wing membrane surface area Infection Vectors & Detail Bite Scratch Saliva Contact Talon scratches are the primary vector — the talons are habitually preened with the beak, coating them in saliva. A single talon scratch on any exposed skin initiates infection. They have been documented deliberately scratching rather than killing — dropping infected prey into populated areas to maximize spread.
Survival Odds Human (uninfected) 8% Infected (turned) 2% Survival is possible. Barely. Don't get comfortable.
Anthro Form Appearance A lean, 7-foot avian humanoid form with a 20-foot wingspan that folds against the back and arms when terrestrial. The body is covered in fine dark grey membranous skin with a light scattering of quill-like proto-feathers along the head crest — which extends 3 feet back from the skull in a dramatic crimson-tipped blade shape. The face is dominated by a 2-foot elongated beak, sharp enough to punch through steel plate at speed. The eyes are enormous — the size of a human fist — golden with sharp slit pupils that provide near-360 degree vision. Hands end in three hooked fingers along the leading edge of the wings, plus two longer articulated fingers at the wingtip used as grasping tools. Legs are thin and powerful, ending in four-taloned feet. The overall impression is of something that was built, not born, for cruelty from altitude.
Behavior Patrol-oriented and deeply territorial about airspace. Anthro Pteranodons establish dominance hierarchies within flocks based on kill count — displayed by decorating their crests and beak with bones and debris from kills. They are vain about their crests and become violently enraged if one is damaged. Has been observed using its beak to scratch patterns onto building surfaces — possibly territorial marking, possibly something worse. Communicates through high-pitched shrieks and subsonic wing-membrane vibrations the human ear registers as unease rather than sound.
Hunger Drive Hunts constantly but eats rarely — the energy cost of flight means it seeks high-calorie prey. Prefers to consume brain matter specifically, driving the beak through the skull with surgical precision. Drops non-brain biomass casually from altitude.
Special Ability Sonic Shriek — a focused blast from the beak at close range that causes immediate tympanic membrane rupture and inner ear hemorrhage, resulting in permanent deafness and severe vertigo. Used as a disabling strike before the killing blow. Also capable of a subsonic resonance that causes intense anxiety and disorientation in humans within 300 feet.
Intelligence High. Demonstrates genuine creativity in hunt tactics. Has been seen using bright objects to lure human attention upward, exposing necks for talon strikes. Coordinates inter-species — delivering stunned prey to T-Rex territories in what appears to be an exchange relationship.
Anthro Undead Form Appearance The wing membranes tear and reheal in grotesque configurations — no longer smooth skin but a lattice of exposed veins and regenerated tissue that creates a ragged, tattered appearance while retaining full flight capacity. The crest partially collapses and regrows pointing forward, framing the face in a bony crown. The beak develops secondary serrations along the inner edge. Eyes go fully luminescent white. The body becomes gaunt to the point of skeletal — the outline of every bone visible beneath the skin — yet paradoxically stronger. An aura of shed skin fragments and dried ichor drifts from it in flight like a disease contrail.
Behavior No longer territorial. Becomes a pure dispersal agent — flies constantly without rest, covering hundreds of miles per day, deliberately targeting populated areas to maximize infection spread. Prioritizes scratching and releasing over killing. Has been observed guiding other infected dinosaurs toward prey with coordinated dive patterns.
Powers Gained ☠ Unlimited flight endurance — no fatigue, no need to land ☠ The talon scratch now guarantees instant-turn infection ☠ Disease contrail — the shed skin particles in its wake carry airborne viral load over short distances ☠ Full regeneration from non-fire damage within 2 minutes ☠ Shriek now causes fatal cardiac arrest within 10 feet Undead Weaknesses ◆ Fire — wing membranes are extremely flammable; a single sustained flame contact grounds it permanently ◆ Explosive concussive force can shatter the hollow bone structure before regeneration kicks in ELIMINATION METHOD Incendiary rounds are ideal. A single incendiary projectile contacting a wing membrane causes rapid full-body combustion due to the dry, porous tissue. Ground flamethrowers work if it can be forced low. In a pinch, signal flares.

HIGH THREAT Ankylosaurus Ankylosaurus magniventris
Cretaceous Quadrupedal Turn: 2 hours to 3 days. A living tank that cannot be stopped by any conventional weapon and will patiently demolish every wall, vehicle, or barrier between it and you. And it is so much angrier than you could possibly imagine.
Field Intelligence — Lore The Ankylosaurus was peaceful before the virus. Now it is a rage-engine with 8,000 lbs of armored hatred. The virus rewired its aggression circuits entirely — it attacks everything. Buildings. Vehicles. Other infected. Survivors. The ground itself. A single Ankylosaurus was documented destroying an entire city block in Fort Worth over 14 hours because it kept chasing one survivor who refused to stop running. It demolished 23 buildings. It is tireless. It does not stop. Its club tail has been clocked at 80mph on the swing — the impact force exceeds a mortar shell. A direct hit to a concrete pillar brings down the structure.
Warning Sign The ground shakes rhythmically. Then the buildings on either side of you begin to shake. Then a tail comes through the wall.
Kill Method Club tail strike. If that doesn't kill immediately, pin under body weight, let gravity and 8,000 lbs do the rest.
Sadistic Behavior There is no play. There is only rage. But it will stop swinging its tail right before the killing blow, stand over a crushed survivor for a prolonged moment staring with those dead eyes, then resume. As if savoring.
Strengths ▶ Osteoderms (armor plates) render it immune to all conventional small arms and most heavy weapons ▶ Club tail impact force exceeds a mortar round — collapses buildings, flips tanks ▶ Low center of gravity makes it impossible to knock over ▶ Tireless — the virus removes fatigue completely ▶ Heat-resistant armor plating significantly reduces fire damage ▶ 360-degree tail sweep reach of 25 feet Weaknesses ◆ Soft underbelly — the only unarmored region; requires flipping the animal, which is nearly impossible ◆ Slow movement speed — maximum 15mph, easily outrun on open ground ◆ Limited turning capability — almost a full minute to reverse direction ◆ Poor eyesight in low light ◆ Can be lured into terrain that impedes its movement (deep water, steep slopes) Infection Vectors & Detail Scratch Saliva Contact Cannot bite effectively due to its beak-like jaw. However, the virus causes constant drooling — thick streams of saliva that pool on surfaces it walks over. Contact with this saliva trail infects. Osteoderm edges are sharp enough to lacerate skin on contact — a glancing brush against the armor infects through the wound.
Survival Odds Human (uninfected) 15% Infected (turned) 5% Survivable — if you are careful, fast, and very, very lucky.
Anthro Form Appearance A squat, massively broad quadrupedal body with a hunched bipedal posture when rearing up — which it does to display aggression. Stands 8 feet at shoulder on all fours, 14 feet when rearing. Every inch of the back, shoulders, arms, and outer legs is covered in fused osteoderm plates that have grown into one another under viral influence, creating an unbroken shell of bone-and-keratin armor. The face is broad and flat with a hooked beak and small, deeply recessed eyes that glow a steady angry amber. The club tail, now at the end of a 20-foot appendage, is the size of a compact car's engine block. Four legs are pillars of armored muscle. The hands — now with stubby armored fingers — can dig through concrete. The belly and inner limbs are the only unprotected areas, covered in pale, thick hide that nevertheless resists all but the heaviest cutting implements. Constant heavy drooling — the saliva is noticeably discolored, dark greenish — pools on every surface it walks across.
Behavior Rage without end. Does not strategize, does not retreat, does not stop. Once it identifies prey, it pursues until one or the other ceases to exist. Has been observed in standoffs with T-Rexes that lasted hours — neither backing down. Destroys its environment compulsively even when no prey is present. Found repeatedly beating its tail against collapsed buildings at 3am for no discernible reason.
Hunger Drive Primarily carnivorous now but will eat anything organic — wood, vegetation, small animals — if meat is unavailable. Feeds by pinning prey under its body weight and letting them be crushed, then biting off pieces at leisure.
Special Ability Rage Quake — when sufficiently agitated (which is always), slams the club tail into the ground with enough force to create a localized earthquake-like shockwave, knocking all prey within 40 feet off their feet and collapsing unstable structures. Can do this repeatedly with no cooldown.
Intelligence Low-moderate. Single-minded to the point of stupidity — can be lured into dead ends if the prey is fast enough. Cannot problem-solve beyond "destroy obstacle." This is still terrifying because it is willing to destroy literally everything to reach you.
Anthro Undead Form Appearance The armor plates fuse even more completely — gaps vanish, the tail club develops bone spurs radiating outward making it even more destructive. The decomposition beneath the armor plate is total — the armored surface is essentially attached to a partially skeletal structure that moves through viral compulsion alone. Dark black ichor seeps from every joint in the armor. The eyes go fully dark — not the amber glow but a complete absence of light. The constant drool becomes a steady hemorrhage of thick black fluid that burns concrete on contact, leaving scorched trails. The smell is catastrophic at 200 feet.
Behavior Pure destruction. No prey preference. Attacks everything continuously. A single undead Ankylosaurus in a city is sufficient to bring down every standing structure within a mile radius given enough time. It does not eat. It simply destroys.
Powers Gained ☠ The black fluid it secretes is acidic enough to corrode steel over 10 minutes of contact ☠ Armor becomes fully fire-resistant — flames char the surface but do not penetrate ☠ Regenerates destroyed limbs within 4–6 hours ☠ The Rage Quake intensifies to cause structural collapse in reinforced concrete buildings ☠ Contact with the armor delivers instant infection through the caustic fluid coating it Undead Weaknesses ◆ The underbelly remains vulnerable — fire applied there can reach the necrotic tissue beneath and propagate inward; the only reliable method ◆ EMP-level electrical discharge causes the armor plates to superconduct and fry the viral neural network temporarily ELIMINATION METHOD Must be flipped — an almost impossible task requiring heavy machinery or explosives to destabilize it. Once belly-up, sustained incendiary application to the exposed underside. Alternatively, trap it in a structure, fill with accelerant, ignite. The armor will protect the outside, but fire from within the trapped space reaching the belly and joints will destroy it. This requires sacrificing the structure and anyone inside.

OMEGA — EXTINCTION CLASS Mosasaurus Mosasaurus hoffmannii
Cretaceous Aquatic Turn: 6 hours to 4 days for water-contact infection. Bite is effectively instant mortality regardless. Every ocean. Every sea. Every lake large enough to hide in. Every flooded city. Every drainage system connecting to open water. All of it is its domain. The oceans of the entire world died the day the first Mosasaurus surfaced with red eyes.
Field Intelligence — Lore The virus found the oceans within hours of the bomb. Mosasauruses reaching lengths of 80+ feet under viral influence began surfacing in every major harbor simultaneously, as if coordinated. The USS Ronald Reagan supercarrier was dragged underwater in the Pacific within 48 hours of outbreak. Coastal cities flooded by sea-level surge from the creatures's movements became permanent hunting grounds. One individual in the North Atlantic was tracked by satellite — it destroyed 14 ships before the tracking satellite itself was taken offline by unknown causes. Marine biologists's last transmission from a research submarine described the creature pressing its face against the viewport, watching them with unmistakable recognition before breaching the hull.
Warning Sign The sea goes flat. An impossible, dead calm. The water temperature drops. Then it rises. Then there is no boat.
Kill Method From below. Always from below. There is no warning. There is no avoidance. There is only the darkness under the water getting larger.
Sadistic Behavior Surfaces beneath boats at angles that flip but don't sink them, watches the crew scramble, then submerges and waits to see how long they can stay on the upturned hull. Then submerges the hull.
Strengths ▶ Absolute aquatic apex predator — no marine entity challenges it ▶ 80-foot length, 80+ ton weight — generates waves capable of swamping coastal towns ▶ Can breach entirely out of water to attack coastal targets up to 100 feet from shore ▶ Dual-hinged jaw swallows prey whole without chewing ▶ Pressure wave from swimming creates structural damage to underwater structures ▶ Contaminated ocean-spanning territory — controls entire water hemispheres ▶ Intelligence: tracks and hunts submarines and watercraft with tactical variation Weaknesses ◆ Cannot leave water — no threat on land beyond tidal breach range ◆ Depth preference — operates primarily in surface to 200-foot range, rarely deeper ◆ Cold temperatures significantly reduce speed and aggression ◆ Acoustic harassment causes disorientation Infection Vectors & Detail Bite Saliva Contact Primarily through catastrophic bite — surviving a Mosasaurus bite is functionally impossible. However, any water in its territory carries diluted viral load — contact with infected ocean water through open wounds, eyes, or prolonged immersion initiates a slow-progression infection. This means swimming anywhere in post-apocalypse Earth guarantees eventual infection.
Survival Odds Human (uninfected) 1% Infected (turned) 0% You are already dead. You just don't know it yet.
Anthro Form Appearance Uniquely, the Mosasaurus's anthro form is semi-aquatic — it can drag itself onto land using powerful pectoral fins that have partially limb-ified into massive arm-like structures, but spends 95% of its existence submerged. On land, it moves like a seal but catastrophically larger — dragging a 40-foot serpentine lower body behind a 12-foot-tall upper torso. The upper body is vaguely humanoid in the sense that it has a forward-facing head and two arm-analogs — but nothing about it reads as anything other than predator. The head is massive — wider than a human is tall — with double rows of conical teeth and a mouth that splits back past where ears would be, giving it an impossible gape. The scales are deep blue-black above and pale grey beneath, iridescent in light. Four-lobed flippers are retained along the flanks of the lower body. The eyes are proportionally huge, adapted for deep-water vision — entirely reflective gold, like mirrors. Its breath, when it surfaces, carries a visible toxic mist of viral particles dense enough to infect anyone within 15 feet who breathes it.
Behavior Operates at a geological timescale of patience. Claims entire ocean basins as singular territory. Demonstrates long-range memory — has returned to attack specific coastal locations months after an initial confrontation. Does not rush. Watches coastlines for extended periods, learning patterns, before striking. Has been observed playing with wreckage from ships it sank — pushing debris pieces in patterns that suggest something beyond simple behavior.
Hunger Drive Feeds weekly in enormous quantities — consumes entire schools of whatever marine life remains alongside any human presence it encounters. Does not distinguish between prey types. Entire whale populations have been consumed.
Special Ability Pressure Wave — can generate a focused wave from rapid movement that capsizes anything within 500 feet. Breath Toxin — the mist from its exhalations carries concentrated airborne viral load, infecting unprotected lungs within 15 feet. Water Contamination — its presence in any connected water body spreads viral load throughout the system within hours.
Intelligence Strategic. Possibly the highest raw strategic intelligence of any infected. Plans attacks across days, adapts to counter-measures, avoids baits. Has not been successfully baited even once in documented encounters.
Anthro Undead Form Appearance Grows larger in undeath — approaching 100 feet total. The scales split along the dorsal surface and are replaced by a jagged ridge of exposed vertebrae that pierce upward through the skin. The reflective eyes go full black. The toxic breath mist becomes visible at all times — a permanent dark cloud trailing from its jaws wherever it goes. The lower body fin lobes tear free and reform as secondary limb-like appendages, theoretically increasing its terrestrial capability. Bioluminescent lesions appear across the underside — the virus activity visible as pulsing lights through the skin. Smells of hydrogen sulfide and saltwater corruption from 500 feet downwind.
Behavior Becomes fully territorial across an entire ocean. Begins actively destroying coastal infrastructure systematically — dams, desalination plants, harbors — as if deliberately denying humans access to water. Whether this is viral intelligence or emergent behavior is unknown. Either way, it is working.
Powers Gained ☠ Size increase to 100+ feet ☠ Permanent toxic breath cloud — 30-foot radius infection aura ☠ Complete regeneration from all non-fire damage in minutes ☠ Creates permanent viral contamination of any water body it enters ☠ Able to generate waves sufficient to inland-flood cities up to 2 miles from shore ☠ Cannot be sunk — emerges from any depth regardless of pressure damage Undead Weaknesses ◆ Fire remains effective but must be delivered to a surface animal — nearly impossible given its preference for water ◆ Superheated steam delivered underwater (theoretically) might work ELIMINATION METHOD Functionally impossible with available post-apocalypse resources. The only documented strategy involves luring it toward volcanic activity and hoping the thermal differential triggers immolation. No survivor has successfully executed this. It is included here so you know how far away you are from a solution.

HIGH THREAT Carnotaurus Carnotaurus sastrei
Cretaceous Bipedal Turn: 15 minutes to 48 hours. The fastest large predator on the planet after viral enhancement. If it is chasing you, it has already caught you. The only question is what it does next.
Field Intelligence — Lore Carnotaurus was already the fastest large carnivore in prehistory. The virus pushed it to 55mph sustained sprint speed — faster than any land vehicle on most post-apocalypse terrain. It uses this speed not to hunt efficiently but to play. It runs past survivors at full speed, close enough to brush them, then circles back at the same speed and repeats — wearing them down psychologically before circling in. Documented instances of Carnotaurus herding survivors into open ground specifically to have more running room. It is showing off. It knows it's faster than you. It wants you to know too.
Warning Sign You feel it through the ground before you hear it. A rhythmic trembling that gets faster. Then you hear the breathing — right behind you. You were never going to outrun it.
Kill Method Full-speed horn-ram from behind. Impact force at 55mph drives both horns entirely through the torso. Rarely survives long enough to eat — the impact itself is the kill.
Sadistic Behavior Runs full speed straight at a survivor, stops one inch from them, holds that distance while staring, then turns and sprints away. Repeats until the psychological breakdown is complete.
Strengths ▶ 55mph sustained sprint — the fastest large land predator alive ▶ Horn structure on the skull delivers devastating head-butt impacts ▶ Exceptional turning radius at speed — can change direction at 50mph without losing pace ▶ Thrives in open terrain — grasslands, highways, airstrips become its kill floor ▶ Endurance — can maintain 40mph for 20 minutes continuously ▶ Uses speed for psychological domination — herds prey with velocity alone Weaknesses ◆ Weaker bite force than other large theropods — relies on impact and slash rather than grip-and-crush ◆ Relatively smaller body — vulnerable to heavy explosives ◆ Cannot function in confined spaces — hallways, tight corridors, dense forest negate its speed advantage ◆ Overconfident — the speed makes it sloppy; documented cases of it missing because it was going too fast ◆ Fire causes panic at full sprint — becomes unpredictably dangerous but unfocused Infection Vectors & Detail Bite Scratch Saliva Contact Scratches from the horns and body spines carry viral load from the constant rubbing of horn against flesh during ramming attacks. Drool is heavily aerosolized at speed — running near or past a Carnotaurus releases a trail of infected mist. Anyone downwind of a sprinting Carnotaurus in an enclosed space will inhale infection.
Survival Odds Human (uninfected) 7% Infected (turned) 2% Survival is possible. Barely. Don't get comfortable.
Anthro Form Appearance A lean, aggressive bipedal form standing 9 feet tall with an almost athletic build relative to other large theropods — designed entirely around speed. The legs are proportionally enormous, with massive gastrocnemius and digital extensor muscles that visibly flex and coil even at rest, constantly primed to explode. Two prominent horns — now 18 inches long and swept forward aggressively — protrude from above the brow ridge, framing deep red eyes set in a skull that is notably short and wide compared to other theropods, giving it an almost bull-like facial aspect. Tiny, fused arm remnants that are even more vestigial than the T-Rex's are barely visible, tucked hard against the torso. The body is covered in fine, smooth scales with a ridge of small proto-horns running from skull to tail tip — each of which carries viral saliva from the animal's grooming behavior. The tail is long and acts as a counterbalance at speed — held dead straight behind during sprinting, creating an almost aerodynamic silhouette. Coloration is deep rust-red with black horizontal striping across the flanks — disruptive camouflage that is wildly effective in tall grass or debris-strewn environments.
Behavior Speed-obsessed and sadistic. Treats the hunt as a performance. Will run at full speed between buildings just to hear the sonic wake it leaves behind. Establishes running circuits of several miles as its personal hunting track. Communicates through percussive head stamps on surfaces — the sound carries miles on quiet nights. Social in small groups of 2–4, with a dominant runner who always takes first strike and the others running flanking patterns to prevent escape.
Hunger Drive Kills efficiently when hungry — high-speed impact through a human being at 55mph is typically fatal. Eats relatively quickly and then returns to running. Cannot sit still. The virus appears to cause something analogous to hyperactivity on a catastrophic scale.
Special Ability Infrasonic Stampede — when multiple Carnotaurus sprint in the same direction simultaneously, the footfall vibrations synchronize into a frequency that causes severe anxiety, nausea, and loss of balance in humans within 400 feet. Used to disorient prey before the individual sprint attacks begin.
Intelligence Moderate. Impulsive and speed-reliant — doesn't plan deeply but adapts quickly. Very responsive to prey behavior — if a survivor stops running, it stops. Studies them. Then runs again.
Anthro Undead Form Appearance The athletic form becomes gaunt and skeletal with the horns elongating to 28 inches with secondary barbs growing from their length. The scale-pattern becomes partially transparent — the musculature visible through the skin, which appears to have partially dried and split during decomposition before reanimation, giving it a cracked, lacquered appearance. The eyes go full crimson — glowing even in daylight. Every footfall leaves a viral ichor print. The proto-horn ridge along the back becomes fully calcified spikes. Runs faster undead than alive — documented at over 65mph.
Behavior Pure speed-predation. Runs constantly, feeding on impacts. Does not need to stop to eat — consumes while in motion. A city street is its kill corridor and it bounces between structures at full speed in loops.
Powers Gained ☠ Speed increases to 65+ mph ☠ Horn impact now delivers instant-turn infection on contact ☠ Every footfall disperses viral ichor — running across it with open wounds infects ☠ No longer needs to stop — feeds while running ☠ Regenerates from all non-fire damage in under 30 seconds ☠ Sonic footfall can now cause structural damage at full sprint Undead Weaknesses ◆ Fire remains effective — moving this fast while on fire causes rapid full-body combustion ◆ The speed becomes a liability if terrain is properly rigged — unseen wire obstacles at neck height ELIMINATION METHOD Incendiary tripwire. Full speed into a fire barrier. Immolation at 65mph is rapid and total. Nothing comes back from that. In theory.

HIGH THREAT Therizinosaurus Therizinosaurus cheloniformis
Cretaceous Bipedal Turn: 30 minutes to 2 days. Eight-foot claws. Twelve-ton body. The virus turned a gentle herbivore into something that uses those claws on people with the deliberateness of a surgeon and the mercy of none.
Field Intelligence — Lore Therizinosaurus was herbivorous. The virus changed that. It still uses its claws for their original purpose — pulling things toward it — but what it pulls has changed. Survivors describe encounters where the Therizinosaurus would hook a claw through a building wall and slowly drag the structure apart to reach the people inside. It is methodical, almost gentle-seeming in its movements, which makes it somehow more horrifying. It does not charge. It reaches. And those claws, at 8+ feet each, reach farther than you expect.
Warning Sign A sound you can't quite identify — like metal bending — that gets into your joints and makes them ache. Then the building to your left collapses inward.
Kill Method Full claw sweep across the midsection. The speed of the sweep is deceptive for something so large. It is over before the sound catches up.
Sadistic Behavior Hooks the tip of a single claw through a survivor's clothing and lifts them off the ground — without breaking skin — then holds them 20 feet up, turning them slowly as if examining them. Then sets them down. Then hooks them again.
Strengths ▶ Claws exceed 8 feet in length — the longest natural claws of any known creature ▶ Claw can pierce and drag through reinforced concrete ▶ Long reach — effective kill range of 30+ feet from body ▶ Deceptively large body — 12+ tons, 30 feet tall when rearing ▶ Patient and methodical — will disassemble a building claw by claw ▶ Surprisingly quiet for its size — the claws can be swept silently Weaknesses ◆ Relatively slow — cannot chase effectively ◆ Claws are awkward at close quarters — less effective if prey is inside its claw radius ◆ Poor lateral vision — approaches from the front ◆ Cannot easily descend into underground spaces Infection Vectors & Detail Scratch Saliva Contact The primary infection vector is the scratch — and with 8-foot claws, a scratch is nearly unavoidable once within range. The claws are perpetually coated in a mix of plant matter and viral saliva. A single surface scratch from any part of the claw guarantees infection.
Survival Odds Human (uninfected) 10% Infected (turned) 4% Survival is possible. Barely. Don't get comfortable.
Anthro Form Appearance Stands 15 feet tall with a broad, rounded body set on thick bipedal legs, a small proportionally odd head with a narrow toothless beak that has widened under viral influence to allow meat consumption, and four-fingered hands terminating in the iconic claws — now curved, yellowed, and each the length of a sedan. The body is covered in dense, shaggy proto-feathers in dark brown and ochre — almost warm-looking, almost safe-looking from a distance, until the claws register. The eyes are small and set wide, currently a pale viral yellow. The posture is slightly stooped — the weight of the claws pulls the arms forward even at rest. There is something almost tragic about its silhouette. Then it sweeps a claw and reminds you what it is.
Behavior Methodical and quiet. Does not roar or display. Approaches problems with eerie patience. Has been observed waiting outside a fortified location for 4 days, slowly scoring the exterior walls with its claws — not breaching, just marking, as if measuring. On day 5, it reached through the marked section in one sweep and the wall came down. Solitary. Does not tolerate others in its territory. Has been seen killing other infected who entered its area, which is the only documented instance of infected-on-infected significant violence.
Hunger Drive Feeds carefully — uses the claw tips to sort through kills, selecting specific pieces. Does not devour chaotically. Leaves tidy remains. This is somehow worse.
Special Ability Claw Resonance — dragging the claws across any hard surface creates a subsonic frequency that causes severe joint pain and muscle spasms in humans within 50 feet. The sound is just barely audible — like something wrong at the edge of hearing — and the physical effect builds over 20–30 seconds of exposure before becoming incapacitating.
Intelligence Moderate-high but alien in its expression. Seems to think in very long time horizons. Plans across days. Responds to failed attempts with adjusted strategies rather than escalation. The patience suggests an intelligence that has simply decided it has all the time in the world.
Anthro Undead Form Appearance The feathers shed entirely, leaving a smooth, grey-blue waxy skin beneath — the look of something that has been preserved rather than alive. The claws elongate further to 12 feet and develop hollow channels through which the black viral ichor constantly weeps, coating everything they touch. The small head collapses further — eye sockets enlarge and the eyes themselves become just two points of cold violet light within. The beak drops open and cannot close — revealing an endless throat. The posture straightens in death, reaching full 18-foot height. Moves even more slowly — but the claws now reach 40 feet.
Behavior Becomes a territorial guardian — claims a specific geographic area and methodically clears it of all life. Works systematically through structures, block by block. Creates walls of destroyed debris that define its claimed zone. Other infected seem to avoid its territory instinctively.
Powers Gained ☠ Claw reach extends to 40 feet due to total structural relaxation of the limb musculature ☠ Ichor-coated claws deliver instant-turn infection on surface contact ☠ The claw resonance ability now causes bone fractures after 15 seconds of exposure ☠ Regenerates from all non-fire damage within 5 minutes ☠ Cannot be deterred by noise, light, or physical obstacles below its claw height Undead Weaknesses ◆ Fire — the waxy skin is highly flammable ◆ The claws are extremely vulnerable to superheated flame — will melt and fuse, permanently disabling them even after regeneration heals the body ELIMINATION METHOD Melt the claws with sustained high-intensity fire first — this disarms it. Then full immolation of the body. Without the claws it is simply a large but manageable target. With them it is nearly impossible to approach safely.

HYBRID SPECIES OMEGA — EXTINCTION CLASS Indominus Rex Indominus rex (Hybrid)
Turn: 3 minutes to 1 hour. Always on the shorter end. A genetic chimera designed as a weapon and made worse by the virus. It was already the most dangerous thing humanity had ever created. The virus didn't transform it. It completed it.
Field Intelligence — Lore The Indominus was already a hybrid of Tyrannosaurus, Velociraptor, Cuttlefish, Tree Frog, and seventeen other species when the bomb went off. The virus encountered a genome it had never seen — not a single species but a patchwork — and instead of producing a standard transformation, it integrated with every component genome simultaneously. The result is something that does not appear in any taxonomy, any database, any nightmare. It is 50 feet long, white as bone, and carries the abilities of every species in its genome — now virus-amplified. It is the only infected that was engineered to kill before the virus found it. Documented kill count in its first 72 hours post-bomb: 847 confirmed, estimated 2,000+. It didn't need the virus to be a weapon. The virus made it a god of death.
Warning Sign None. By the time you know it's there, it has been watching you for days.
Kill Method Varies. The Indominus kills differently every time, as if experimenting. Never the same method twice with the same prey group.
Sadistic Behavior Allows a survivor group to believe they have successfully escaped — tracking them invisibly for days, letting them establish a camp, build routines, begin to feel safe — then methodically removes their resources one at a time before revealing itself.
Strengths ▶ Thermal camouflage — can mask its heat signature completely, becoming invisible to all detection systems ▶ Active camouflage — Cuttlefish DNA allows full visual invisibility, including in motion ▶ Raptor-level pack communication — can call and command infected Raptors telepathically through the virus network ▶ T-Rex bite force with enhanced Spinosaurus jaw flexibility ▶ Armor plating derived from Ankylosaur and crocodilian gene segments ▶ Intelligence exceeding all other infected — demonstrates theory of mind, deception, and long-term planning ▶ Echolocation and vibration sensing from its composite genome ▶ Adapts rapidly — has been observed modifying hunting strategies in real-time based on new information Weaknesses ◆ Camouflage is disrupted by sustained bioluminescent stimuli or bright flashing light — it can't maintain both at once ◆ The complex hybrid genome creates occasional catastrophic immune responses — spontaneous tissue rejection events that temporarily incapacitate it ◆ Craves social stimulation in a distorted way — has been observed prolonging encounters, creating an opportunity for escape ◆ Fire causes PTSD-analogous terror responses from its original captivity — a deeply exploitable psychological lever Infection Vectors & Detail Bite Scratch Saliva Contact The Indominus delivers a unique viral strain — a composite infection combining multiple transformation pathways simultaneously. Survivors bitten or scratched by the Indominus do not predictably transform into a single dinosaur type. They transform into composite hybrid infected — randomly assembled from the Indominus's own genetic library. The result is unpredictable, unique, and invariably monstrous. No two Indominus-infected transformations are alike.
Survival Odds Human (uninfected) 1% Infected (turned) 0% You are already dead. You just don't know it yet.
Anthro Form Appearance The anthro Indominus is 18–22 feet of white-scaled, armored predator that appears freshly carved from bone and nightmare. The head is a broadened, armored T-Rex skull with the Raptor's forward-set binocular eyes — now capable of visible color-shifting as the chromatophores activate. The neck is longer and more flexible than either parent species. The arms are significantly more developed — not vestigial but full three-fingered gripping appendages ending in hooked claws that can pierce military-grade vehicle plating. The body is covered in a mosaic of different scale types — smooth Raptor scales on the flanks, heavy osteoderm plates along the spine and shoulders, fine crocodilian scales on the underbelly. The tail is long and ends in a natural club-like thickening. When the camouflage activates, the entire body phases into visual transparency — a distortion, like looking through imperfect glass, is the only visual indicator. The eyes, however, cannot be camouflaged — two floating points of ice-blue light are the only warning. Voice: can vocalize in the frequency range of every species in its genome — uses them communicatively and as weapons.
Behavior The most cognitively complex of all infected. Demonstrates clear theory of mind — understands that prey has different knowledge than it does and exploits that asymmetry deliberately. Has been observed setting multi-stage traps involving infected Raptors as herding agents, chosen kill zones prepared in advance, and escape routes deliberately left open — then blocked at the last second. Researches its prey. Studies survivor camps for days while invisible. Forms something analogous to personal opinions about individual humans — certain survivors it plays with over extended periods, others it kills immediately, apparently based on criteria no one has decoded.
Hunger Drive Selective and strategic. Does not need to eat frequently. When it does, it consumes entirely and methodically — leaves nothing. Has been observed sharing kills with commanded Raptor packs — suggesting a form of social hierarchy it has placed itself at the top of among all infected.
Special Ability Complete Invisibility — visual, thermal, and electromagnetic. The only detection method is acoustic vibration through solid surfaces. Composite Roar — combines the sonic weapons of every species in its genome into a single vocalization that causes simultaneous auditory hemorrhage, cardiac arrhythmia, structural damage to reinforced glass and older concrete, and total psychological incapacitation in all prey within 200 feet. Used rarely. Reserved for situations where it has decided the hunt is over.
Intelligence Off the scale. Demonstrates planning across weeks. Manipulates other infected as pawns. May communicate with the virus network across long distances in ways that influence other infected's behavior globally. The possibility that the Indominus is coordinating the entire extinction event rather than simply participating in it has been proposed and not ruled out.
Anthro Undead Form Appearance The white scales turn to a lustrous black — not the flat black of absence but a deep, iridescent black that catches light like an oil slick and reflects it wrongly, in colors that shouldn't exist in the visible spectrum. The armor plates crack and regrow in asymmetric, jagged configurations. The chromatophores continue to function, creating abstract, shifting patterns of bioluminescent color across the black surface — deeply mesmerizing, which is intentional. The eyes shift to full blood red. The camouflage ability is retained but now emits a subtle wrongness at the edges — the air around the invisible form seems to vibrate. The body grows 25% larger. The undead Indominus is the most visually overwhelming thing that has ever existed.
Behavior Becomes a general. In undeath the cognitive capacity does not diminish — if anything it clarifies. No longer interested in individual prey. Focuses entirely on strategic disruption of any organized human resistance. Targets resources, infrastructure, and leadership. Has been documented destroying the last operational water treatment facility in a region not to drink from it but to force the survivors out of their fortified position. It thinks in terms of outcomes and executes toward them with perfect efficiency.
Powers Gained ☠ Size increase of 25% ☠ Camouflage extends to acoustic invisibility — vibration masking through viral manipulation of surrounding ground ☠ The bioluminescent display is hypnotic — humans who watch it for more than 4 seconds cannot look away or move voluntarily ☠ Commands all infected within a 10-mile radius through the virus network ☠ Regenerates from any non-fire damage in under 15 seconds ☠ The composite infection it delivers now guarantees transformation within 90 seconds into the most hostile hybrid form possible ☠ Immune to fire EXCEPT direct sustained contact — the psychological terror response is gone in undeath Undead Weaknesses ◆ Fire — the single remaining vulnerability; must be prolonged and total ◆ The hypnotic display can be countered by covering eyes; a blinded Indominus loses its primary crowd-control tool ELIMINATION METHOD Theoretically possible with sufficient incendiary payload delivered simultaneously to the entire body. Practically speaking, you would need to catch it standing still — which it has never done. The only realistic strategy is exploiting the 4-second window before the hypnotic display locks eyes, delivering an incendiary device, and surviving the next 30 seconds while it burns. No one has done this successfully. It is listed here as information, not hope.

HYBRID SPECIES OMEGA — EXTINCTION CLASS Indoraptor Indoraptor gen 2 (Hybrid)
Hybrid Hybrid Turn: 5 minutes to 45 minutes. Extremely rapid. A failed weapons prototype that was never finished. The virus finished it. The result is a serial killer wrapped in genetic armor, operating with raptor intelligence and T-Rex lethality in a body built specifically for killing humans.
Field Intelligence — Lore The Indoraptor was designed to respond to targeting — point at something, it kills it. The virus didn't change that instinct. It amplified it into a compulsion. The Indoraptor targets. Obsessively. It does not hunt — it marks. Once an Indoraptor has seen you, you are marked. It will pursue across hundreds of miles. It does not sleep. It does not eat before its target is dead. Survivors who escaped an Indoraptor encounter and relocated 300 miles away were found — marked. There are no documented cases of an Indoraptor abandoning a target. The hunt ends one way.
Warning Sign You hear a single rising note — almost musical. You know immediately what made it. You know it means you. You know it won't stop.
Kill Method Tailored to the target. Never the same. Always horrific.
Sadistic Behavior Allows marked prey to escape. Follows invisibly. Lets them reach help, reach other survivors, begin to explain. Then enters the room. Specifically, and only, for the marked target. Lets the other survivors watch.
Strengths ▶ Relentless tracking — follows a marked target indefinitely across any terrain ▶ Raptor-speed with Indominus-level armor and reflexes ▶ Near-silent movement — designed for stealth assassination ▶ Echolocation precision allows targeting in complete darkness ▶ Highly adaptive — learns and counters every defensive tactic encountered ▶ Sociopathic target fixation — cannot be diverted from a marked target by other prey ▶ Smaller profile than other apex predators — fits through standard doorways, into vehicles, into most spaces Weaknesses ◆ Target fixation is exploitable — will ignore all other threats while pursuing its marked target ◆ Less armored than Indominus — more vulnerable to concentrated heavy fire at joint points ◆ Operates alone — no pack coordination benefit ◆ Acoustic disruption causes echolocation failure, temporarily blinding it ◆ Fire — as always Infection Vectors & Detail Bite Scratch Saliva Contact Like the Indominus, Indoraptor infection produces composite hybrid transformations — but specifically optimized toward predatory hybrids. Every Indoraptor victim transforms into something built to kill, not built to infect. A uniquely lethal chain of transformation.
Survival Odds Human (uninfected) 2% Infected (turned) 0% You are already dead. You just don't know it yet.
Anthro Form Appearance Stands 8–9 feet tall with the lean, powerful build of the Raptor amplified by Indominus-derived mass. Predominantly black with gold striping along the flanks and arms — the striping is bioluminescent and visible in darkness, which the Indoraptor appears not to care about. It is not hiding. It knows you already see it. The face is a narrower version of the Indominus's — long jaws, ice-blue eyes set forward for predator depth perception, a high narrow skull with a distinctive bony crest. The arms are fully articulated and long — it can reach the ground in a knuckle-walk posture or reach above its head with equal facility. The sickle claw is present — longer and more curved than a standard Raptor's. The hands have five fingers, the last two elongated into grasping tools. The jaws are capable of a gape that unhooks the lower mandible, allowing it to swallow prey items far too large for the standard jaw capacity. It smiles. This has been described by multiple survivors. A full, wide, teeth-showing expression that lasts for 3–5 seconds before the attack.
Behavior Operates with the psychology of a serial killer. Marks a target, studies them extensively before engaging, selects an approach that maximizes the target's specific psychological vulnerabilities. Has been documented learning that one target was afraid of the dark and extinguishing all light sources in a structure before hunting them specifically in darkness. Communicates with a low, melodic clicking that several survivors described as haunting rather than immediately alarming — until they realized what was making it. Does not rush. The mark is not going anywhere.
Hunger Drive Minimal food drive — eats opportunistically after a kill rather than hunting for sustenance. The kill itself is the compulsion, not consumption. This makes it more dangerous, not less — it has no reason to stop chasing you because it isn't hungry.
Special Ability Target Lock — once a specific individual has been marked through direct eye contact and a specific targeting vocalization (a single rising note that victims describe as "impossible to mishear"), the Indoraptor's entire neurological system fixates on that target. It cannot consciously un-mark a target. The marked individual can feel when the Indoraptor is near — a deep, primal wrongness described as "knowing you are being watched from everywhere at once."
Intelligence Extremely high, sociopathically expressed. Does not generalize — thinks entirely in terms of individual targets. Each hunt is a unique, tailored psychological experience designed for maximum suffering of that specific individual. Keeps humans alive longer than necessary because the experience of being hunted is, apparently, part of the goal.
Anthro Undead Form Appearance The gold striping brightens to a blinding bioluminescent white in undeath, making the Indoraptor visible from a quarter mile in darkness — it has abandoned any pretense of camouflage entirely. The jaw now cannot close — the unhinging mechanism locks open in a permanent full-gape. The eyes shift from ice-blue to a deep burning gold. The body elongates slightly, the arms extend, and the sickle claw grows a secondary hook midway along its length. Dried black ichor weeps from the jaw in constant strings. The smile is now the default resting expression — not an act but a structural consequence of the locked-open jaw, and somehow worse for it.
Behavior In undeath, the target-fixation transfers from the original marked target to all living things simultaneously — the Indoraptor is now permanently hunting everyone with the same intensity it previously reserved for one. This is the point at which it becomes truly impossible to be near. The targeted intensity without the selectivity is overwhelming — it moves too fast, changes direction too quickly, and processes multiple prey locations simultaneously.
Powers Gained ☠ Target Lock extends to all living beings simultaneously within 1 mile ☠ Sickle claw delivers guaranteed instant-turn composite hybrid infection ☠ Speed increases to 50+ mph ☠ Complete regeneration in under 20 seconds ☠ The targeting vocalization now triggers instant cardiac arrest in the marked individual ☠ The bioluminescent striping pulses in a pattern that induces photosensitive seizures in 40% of humans who see it Undead Weaknesses ◆ Fire — full immolation required ◆ The locked-open jaw eliminates the bite as a weapon, reducing it to claw attacks only ELIMINATION METHOD Incendiary rounds directly into the open jaw — the interior is unarmored. Sustained fire into the oral cavity can reach the brain cavity directly. This requires precision under extreme stress while a blinding bioluminescent predator is charging you at 50mph. Statistically this does not happen. It is theoretically the correct answer.

MEDIUM THREAT Brachiosaurus Brachiosaurus altithorax
Jurassic Quadrupedal Turn: 3 hours to 5 days. The gentle giant is gone. What replaced it is 80 tons of plague-carrying destruction that brings structures down simply by walking through them, and whose viral breath infects everything within range.
Field Intelligence — Lore The Brachiosaurus was the first infected spotted in most regions — its 80-foot neck made it visible from miles away. Survivors initially mistook them for non-threats. Then the first one walked through a highway overpass — not around it, through it — and the bridge collapsed onto 400 vehicles of people who had been waiting in evacuation traffic. The creature didn't notice. It kept walking. It has no malice, no intelligence driving it — just viral compulsion to move toward biological heat sources and infect them. The sheer scale of its existence makes it lethal.
Warning Sign The horizon changes shape. A silhouette that shouldn't be there. Something taller than the buildings, moving toward you.
Kill Method Incidental. A foot placement that doesn't account for what is underfoot. A neck swing at the right moment. Most deaths to Brachiosaurus are technically accidents. That doesn't make them less fatal.
Sadistic Behavior None. It cannot conceive of play or cruelty. It simply exists, and its existence is the cruelty.
Strengths ▶ 80+ tons — structural destruction is incidental to its movement ▶ Neck reach of 40 feet — no high ground is safe from its jaw ▶ Viral breath — the exhalations carry airborne viral load effective within 30 feet ▶ Tail sweep radius of 60 feet — a casual movement flattens everything nearby ▶ Herd movement — multiple individuals moving together causes earthquake-like ground deformation ▶ Essentially impossible to stop with conventional weapons — like shooting a building Weaknesses ◆ Very slow ◆ Cannot navigate urban environments efficiently ◆ Low aggression — will move away from fire readily ◆ The neck is a striking vulnerability if targeted with heavy ordnance ◆ No active predatory behavior — does not pursue, simply walks toward heat Infection Vectors & Detail Bite Saliva Contact The viral breath is uniquely dangerous — it is the only infected where simply being in proximity to its breathing can initiate infection in unprotected individuals. Respiratory protection is mandatory near any Brachiosaurus.
Survival Odds Human (uninfected) 20% Infected (turned) 8% Survivable — if you are careful, fast, and very, very lucky.
Anthro Form Appearance The anthro Brachiosaurus is a towering 20-foot bipedal form with proportionally massive torso and legs, a long neck extending 15 feet above the shoulders, and a relatively small head at the end of it with a wide, flat jaw and teeth that have — under viral influence — shifted from peg-like herbivore teeth to broader, crushing molars capable of processing meat. The four legs have compressed into two massively built leg-pillars with broad padded feet and two shorter, vestigial forearm-analogs tucked against the chest. The body is covered in smooth grey-brown hide with subtle hexagonal scale patterns. The neck is the defining feature — longer than the rest of the body and almost prehensile under viral muscle enhancement, capable of striking like a battering ram. Eyes are small, dark, and forward-set — the herbivore's wide field of view has partially collapsed toward forward binocular vision under predatory viral influence. A constant misty exhalation drifts from the nostrils and mouth — the viral breath, visible as a faint haze in cold air and invisible and equally deadly in warm air.
Behavior Wandering and aimless except for the inexorable pull toward biological heat sources. Will walk directly through any structure that stands between it and detected prey without registering the obstacle as notable. Herds of 3–8 anthro Brachiosaurs moving together have been observed and represent some of the most catastrophic terrain-altering events of the apocalypse — entire districts flattened as a side effect of their passage.
Hunger Drive Low individual drive — feeds when prey is immediately available, does not pursue. The danger is proximity — the breath infects whether or not it is actively targeting anyone.
Special Ability Plague Breath — a focused exhalation (a heavy blow, like a gust of hot wind) from the nostrils delivers a concentrated viral dose to everyone in a 50-foot cone. Unprotected individuals exposed to this full-force exhalation turn within minutes. The neck reach allows this to be delivered through windows, over walls, and into elevated spaces.
Intelligence Very low. Does not plan. Does not strategize. Does not notice you specifically. This is cold comfort when it is walking toward your building and does not understand that stopping is an option.
Anthro Undead Form Appearance Skin sloughs in sheets during early undead period before stabilizing — the exposed areas show black fibrous muscle with no blood flow. The remaining hide develops a grey-green pallor. The neck develops vertebral protrusions visible through the skin. The viral breath becomes visible at all times as a dark, greenish-grey mist and extends to 80 feet in still conditions. The eyes open fully and go entirely white. The herd cohesion in undeath becomes perfect — undead Brachiosaurs move in synchronized lockstep with no discernible communication.
Behavior Stops wandering. Becomes directional — moves consistently toward population centers, toward sounds of human activity, toward any remaining organized resistance. The viral intelligence in the network has given it a purpose beyond its natural behavior. It is a plague delivery system and it is now on task.
Powers Gained ☠ Plague breath range extends to 80 feet and becomes permanently active ☠ Herd-mind synchronization — multiple undead Brachiosaurs act as one organism ☠ Immune to all non-fire damage — bullets, explosives, and vehicular impact all cause zero net harm ☠ Footfall now seismic enough to collapse underground infrastructure ☠ The viral breath in undead form is potent enough to infect through standard civilian gas masks Undead Weaknesses ◆ Fire — the hide becomes extremely flammable in undead state despite the size ◆ Military-grade respiratory protection (NBC level) blocks the breath infection ELIMINATION METHOD Aerial incendiary bombardment. Ground-level fire is too slow given the scale. Multiple simultaneous ignition points across the body surface. A single Brachiosaurus requires approximately 40,000 liters of accelerant for reliable full immolation. Math accordingly.

D-CODEX Back to Codex MEDIUM THREAT Stegosaurus Stegosaurus armatus
Jurassic Quadrupedal Turn: 4 hours to 4 days. One of the slower turning infected. The plates that were once a passive temperature regulator are now active bioweapons. And the tail spikes have been clocked at 90mph. It is both a tank and an artillery platform.
Field Intelligence — Lore The Stegosaurus was documented in the first week by a survivor in Denver who thought it was "not that bad" because it walked past her building without attacking. She was right — for three hours. Then it turned around and systematically demolished the block she was on. Witnesses say it spent the subsequent four hours destroying structures for what appeared to be no reason other than the fact that its tail kept hitting things. The plates on its back now radiate intense viral heat — proximity to the plates causes infected gas to accumulate on the skin. No one understands the mechanism. Everyone understands the outcome.
Warning Sign An orange glow between buildings that doesn't match any light source. And then the walls start shaking.
Kill Method Tail spike through any body region. At 90mph the impact kills instantly in almost all cases. The few who survived the impact turned from the spike saliva.
Sadistic Behavior None — cannot conceive of it. Pure destruction.
Strengths ▶ Tail spikes (thagomizer) swing at 90mph — impact force exceeds a .50 caliber round per spike ▶ Dorsal plates radiate viral heat — proximity causes passive infection exposure ▶ Heavily armored on back and sides — resistant to most conventional weapons ▶ Extremely aggressive — attacks anything that moves ▶ 6-ton body weight with low center of gravity Weaknesses ◆ Walnut-sized brain — the most purely instinct-driven infected ◆ Slow movement — maximum 10mph ◆ Belly is unprotected ◆ Predictable attack pattern — tail always swings in the same arc ◆ Can be distracted by heat sources (fires, engines) Infection Vectors & Detail Scratch Saliva Contact The dorsal plate radiation is unique — the plates emit a form of viral aerosol in a 15-foot radius that initiates a slow-burn infection through prolonged skin exposure. Brief proximity (under 30 seconds) is survivable. Extended exposure is not. The spikes themselves are saliva-coated from the creature's grooming. Any spike impact guarantees infection through the wound.
Survival Odds Human (uninfected) 25% Infected (turned) 12% Survivable — if you are careful, fast, and very, very lucky.
Anthro Form Appearance A wide, low, heavyset bipedal form standing 9 feet tall with a distinctive front-heavy stoop — the huge dorsal plate array along the spine pulling the upper body backward. The plates on the anthro form have grown and modified — now 3 feet tall each and arranged in two alternating rows from skull-crown to mid-tail, each plate bioluminescent in shifting red-orange patterns that glow more intensely when the creature is agitated. The viral heat radiating from the plates is visible as a shimmer in air above the spine. Four legs have compressed to two — the front two are stocky arms ending in broad three-fingered hands capable of strong grip. The face is broad, small-eyed, and dull — the tiniest brain-to-body ratio of any anthro infected. The tail is 12 feet long and terminates in a cluster of four spikes each 18 inches in length. The overall impression is of something that was made angry, armored it, and let it loose.
Behavior Rage and reaction. No planning, no strategy, no memory beyond the current moment's threat. Has a threat radius of approximately 50 feet — anything inside that radius is an enemy. Attacks with the tail reflexively, continuously, in a sweeping arc that it cannot modulate. Has been observed catching its own tail spike on a wall and becoming so enraged by being stuck that it demolished the wall — and then the next three walls, pursuing the vibration.
Hunger Drive Low. Eats opportunistically when prey is literally under its feet. The aggressive behavior is not hunger-motivated — it is pure viral-induced territorial aggression.
Special Ability Plate Flare — in moments of extreme agitation, the dorsal plates pulse to full brightness and radiate a burst of viral thermal energy in a 30-foot radius, delivering a concentrated infection dose and causing mild burns to anyone in range. Can be triggered by sustained loud noise or direct attack.
Intelligence The lowest of any infected. Reacts. Does not think.
Anthro Undead Form Appearance The plates in undeath crack and regrow in twisted configurations — some inverted, some fused, creating an irregular crown of jagged bony protrusions across the spine. The bioluminescence locks at maximum intensity and does not vary — a permanent bright orange-red that is visible from a quarter mile. The heat radiation increases dramatically — approaching the body within 10 feet causes immediate skin burns regardless of infection status. Eyes go white. The spikes grow to 2 feet each and develop serrations. The drool becomes black and acidic.
Behavior No change — still pure reaction. But the reaction radius expands as the heat aura extends.
Powers Gained ☠ Heat aura extends to 30 feet — causes burns and passive infection in all exposed individuals in range ☠ Spike impacts now deliver instant-turn infection ☠ Plate Flare extends to 60 feet and causes third-degree burns ☠ Complete immunity to non-fire conventional weapons — the plates have fused into a continuous shell ☠ Regenerates in 60 seconds from all non-fire damage Undead Weaknesses ◆ Fire — paradoxically, the plate heat makes the body's own temperature extremely vulnerable to additional heat; a single well-placed incendiary causes rapid total combustion ◆ The walnut brain is directly accessible through the open skull channel between plates — direct impact to this channel is fatal even in undead form ELIMINATION METHOD Single incendiary round between the plates into the dorsal channel. Precise. Possible. The challenge is getting close enough to aim without the heat aura destroying you first.
