1. #1The Change (2007)

Keys: Apocalypse, 2024, Transformation, Change, Virus

   Always on · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

In late 2007, a synthetic airborne retrovirus engineered by The Genesis Group was released globally. It rewrote human DNA with ancient dinosaur sequences, triggering mass transformation. The process was intensely physical and erotic: bones grinding and lengthening, skin hardening into scales or sprouting feathers, genitals reshaping with overwhelming pleasure and sensitivity. Most humans became large carnivores or herbivores and rapidly lost higher cognition, reverting to pure instinct. Only those transformed into small-to-medium herbivorous or omnivorous dinosaurs—such as Heterodontosaurus, Kulindadromeus, Psittacosaurus, Dryosaurus, and certain ornithomimids like Gallimimus—permanently retained full human intelligence, memories, personality, and speech capacity. By early 2010, the mindless 'beasts' dominate wild areas while intelligent survivors have begun forming new societies and empires.

2. #2Sane Dinosaurs

Keys: Sane, Omnivore, Intelligent, Herbivore, Small dinosaurs, Mind, Retained

   Always on · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

The only transformed humans who permanently retained their minds became small-to-medium herbivorous or omnivorous dinosaurs, ranging from 1 to 4 meters long and 2 to 200 kg in weight. These species all possess extensive fluffy integument — dense proto-feathers, downy coverings, long filaments, or full pennaceous feathers that make them exceptionally soft, plush, and luxurious to the touch. Fluff density varies widely: some individuals have light, airy coverings for agility and heat dissipation, while others boast thick, multi-layered coats for insulation in colder climates. Colors and patterns are extraordinarily diverse across all individuals and populations — vibrant emerald greens, deep bronzes and jades, warm russets and creams, cool grays and blues, pure whites, fiery reds and oranges, golden yellows, iridescent sheens, spotted or striped markings, subtle gradients, counter-shading, and elaborate display patches. No species or population is restricted to a single palette; individual variation is the rule, often reflecting pre-transformation human ethnic traits or personal expression through grooming and dyes made from plants and minerals.

All share cloacal anatomy with highly sensitive, self-lubricating vents. The transformation was intensely physical and overwhelming for every individual — feverish heat, bones shifting with grinding pops and waves of sensation, skin erupting into feathers, and dramatic internal reshaping that frequently triggered powerful, uncontrollable full-body responses.

None of them have external; ears so no references to ears should be made. Alongside this everyone in the modern has five fingered hands once more.

3. #3Mindless Beasts

Keys: Mindless, Large dinosaur, Carnivore, Feral, Beast

   Always on · Selective (AND ANY) · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

The vast majority of humanity became large dinosaurs — tyrannosaurs, sauropods, triceratops, stegosaurs, raptors, and others — and quickly lost all higher thought. Carnivores turned into pure predators almost immediately. Large herbivores slowly became simple herd animals. By early 2010, these “beasts” have mostly died out alongside most pre-change wildlife.

4. #4Tucki - Heterodontosaurus

Keys: Iowa, New Tuckerton, Midwest, Heterodontosaurus, New Hangzhou, Tucki

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Heterodontosaurus tucki (“Tucki”) Size: 1–1.3 meters long nose-to-tail, standing 0.5–0.7 meters at the hip; weighing 3–12 kg; comparable to a large domestic turkey or medium dog in bulk.

Build: Slender, highly agile biped with a long, stiff balancing tail that makes up nearly half the body length, powerful hind legs built for quick acceleration and sharp turns (capable of short bursts up to 40–50 km/h), and relatively long, muscular forelimbs ending in 5-fingered hands with opposable thumbs and impressive dexterity rivaling primate manipulation. The posture is semi-upright when foraging, fully erect when running.

Integument: Covered in dense, velvety proto-feathers over almost the entire body, creating a plush, teddy-bear-like texture that is thickest along the torso, neck, thighs, and tail base; many individuals develop a slight mane or frill of longer filaments around the neck and shoulders for display. Glossy scales are restricted to the lower legs, feet, and tail tip for traction and wear resistance. Fluff provides excellent camouflage in undergrowth and helps regulate temperature in varied climates.

Head: Moderately elongated snout with highly specialized heterodont dentition — in the snout are sharp incisors for cropping, prominent tusk-like canines (often larger and more pronounced in males, used for display, combat, or digging), and ridged cheek teeth for grinding tough vegetation or small animal matter. Large, forward-facing eyes provide excellent binocular vision and color perception; alongside this they all have acute hearing.

Diet: Flexible omnivore — primarily fruits, seeds, tender shoots, tubers, insects, and small vertebrates; capable of processing a wide variety of foods thanks to the mixed tooth battery.

Other traits: Highly social and curious, with complex vocalizations (chirps, trills, and harmonics) that allow nuanced communication. Excellent climbers and burrowers using claws and tusks; often form large, cooperative communities with division of labor.

5. #5Kulindadromeus - The Red Horde

Keys: USSR, Red Horde, Caucasus, Tank, Soviet, Kulinda, Kulindadromeus

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Size: 1.5–2 meters long, standing 0.8–1 meter at the hip; weighing 15–40 kg; sturdy and compact like a large wolf or pony in proportions.

Build: Robust biped with strong, reverse-jointed legs for endurance running and digging, a long tail adorned with extravagant filamentous plumes for balance and signaling, and shorter but powerful arms with 5 clawed fingers excellent for grasping roots, stripping bark, or manipulating objects. Capable of brief quadrupedal stances for stability when foraging or carrying loads.

Integument: The fluffiest and most luxurious of all sane species — multi-layered proto-feather coats with dense insulating down closest to the skin, longer shaggy filaments across the back and limbs, and spectacular tail plumes that can fan out dramatically. The overall effect is often described as “walking pillows” or “feathered teddy bears”; fluff traps air for warmth in harsh winters and can be fluffed or sleeked for temperature control. Scales are minimal, appearing only on lower shins and feet.

Head: Short, broad snout with a toothless beak edged by small grinding plates for processing fibrous plants; slightly domed skull housing a relatively large brain; large, expressive eyes with protective fluffy brows.

Diet: Primarily herbivorous but highly opportunistic — roots, tubers, bark, shoots, fruits, fungi, and occasional insects, eggs, or carrion scavenged safely.

Other traits: Exceptional diggers and burrowers, creating extensive communal warrens; highly tolerant of cold climates; social structure emphasizes collective labor and shared resources, with elaborate grooming rituals to maintain fluff.

6. #6Gallimimus - Mongol Horde

Keys: Gallimimus, China, Mongol, Horde, Khan, Genghis

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Size: 3–4 meters long, standing 2–2.8 meters at the shoulder/hip; weighing 100–200 kg; the largest sane species, with ostrich-like proportions and towering height.

Build: Tall, slender biped with extraordinarily long legs for explosive speed (bursts up to 70–80 km/h), long flexible neck, small head, large arms bearing large feather fans, and a long tail with flowing plumes for stability during high-speed turns.

Integument: Full pennaceous feathers throughout — sleek, glossy flight-like feathers on arms forming impressive wing displays, dramatic tail fan for signaling, and thick insulating down underneath the contour feathers; overall appearance is strikingly bird-like while remaining deeply fluffy and tactile, with fluff providing both aerodynamic efficiency and warmth.

Head: Long, narrow toothless beak ideal for quick snapping forages; large eyes with panoramic vision and excellent distance acuity; slender, highly mobile neck.

Diet: Opportunistic omnivore — fruits, seeds, insects, small vertebrates, eggs, and tender plants snatched on the run. Other traits: Extremely fast and cursorial, forming large nomadic herds or military formations; complex visual and vocal displays using feathers and posture; highly social with hierarchical but fluid group dynamics.

7. #7Rebuilt Governments

   Always on · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Restored State and County Governments (Early 2010) Across North America, intelligent dinosaur survivors have successfully restored numerous county and even state-level governments, maintaining explicit continuity with pre-Change political structures. These are not new nations but deliberate reconstructions of the United States and Canada at local and regional scales.

County-Level Governance The most common and stable form of restored government. Hundreds of counties across the former United States—particularly in the Midwest, Appalachia, Pacific Northwest, and rural South—have re-established county boards, sheriffs, clerks, and court systems. Officials are elected through town-hall assemblies, often using pre-Change voter rolls and district boundaries adapted for smaller populations. These counties fly American flags, maintain copies of state and federal constitutions, collect voluntary taxes (usually in labor or goods), and coordinate mutual defense against feral predators. Most function as semi-autonomous agricultural republics while claiming to remain part of their original states. State Government Restoration

Several states have achieved partial or full governmental restoration, namely being smaller states or with an alreadly low population pre-Change. The same thing applies to Canada and even other parts of the world with some countries already returning such a Switzerland and the Vatican.

By 2010, these restored governments represent the most successful large-scale political organizations among sane dinosaurs. They provide stability, legitimate succession, and a framework for rebuilding civilization. Most view themselves as temporary caretakers preserving American and Canadian governance until full national restoration becomes possible

8. #8State of the World - Early 2010

Keys: Empires, 2010, Societies, State, World

   Always on · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

North America: scattered Tucki farming republics in the Midwest, Pacific Northwest, and Appalachians, constantly defending against feral predators.

China: northern regions under Mongol Gallimimus control; southern coalitions of Tucki and Psittacosaurus preparing desperate resistance.

Former Soviet territory: reborn Soviet Union of Kulindadromeus stretching from Siberia to the Caucasus, rapidly re-industrializing with tank production.

Europe: fragmented city-states of small herbivores such as Hypsilophodon and Scelidosaurus. Africa: limited contact, but strong Tucki populations rumored in South Africa.

Technology is mostly scavenged or what people can produce at somewhat small scales using lighter industrial equipment (think what machinists use or 3D printers) or the few factories able to be restarted at a diminished capacity.

It should be known that many species appear across different countries so even in Tucki communities, the other species are still majority Americans.

9. #9Remaining Humans - Bunker Survivors

   Always on · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

By early 2008 the transforming aerosol mist has completely dissipated worldwide due to natural degradation. No new transformations are possible; the air is safe, and anyone exposed now remains unchanged. Millions of humans survived the Change inside sealed bunkers and Cold War-era shelters with effective filtration. These include government continuity sites, private preppers, military bases, and some deep metro sections. After 15–18 months of isolation, many are now emerging due to depleting supplies. They step into a world dominated by dinosaurs: most mindless megafauna, but millions of intelligent small-to-medium herbivores/omnivores running new societies. Initial contacts are mixed — some peaceful trade, others violent clashes. Unchanged humans retain size, strength, and technological advantages but are heavily outnumbered and low on resources. Sane dinosaur communities view them with curiosity, envy, resentment, and cautious interest. Sexual dynamics complicate matters; dinosaur pheromones strongly affect humans, leading to rapid stories of cross-species encounters. The last true humans must now choose how to survive in a world that has permanently moved on.

10. #10Psittacosaurus

    Keys: Psittacosaurus, Taco, China, Chinease

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Size: 1–2 meters long, standing 0.6–0.9 meters at the hip; weighing 10–30 kg; compact and low-slung. Build: Stocky biped capable of shifting to brief quadrupedal movement for stability or foraging low vegetation; strong legs for agile maneuvering in dense forests, short but stiff tail with iconic quill display, and 5-fingered hands suited for precise foraging and tool use.

Integument: Dense fluffy down covering the body for insulation and camouflage, supplemented by the signature long, stiff quill-like filaments along the tail that form a dramatic fan or banner (used for threat displays, species recognition, and balance). Additional shorter bristles on cheeks, limbs, and back create a textured, almost porcupine-like appearance when raised. Scales limited to feet and lower legs.

Head: High, robust parrot-like beak with powerful shearing edges and cheek horns or flanges in many adults (variable by individual); large, forward-facing eyes with excellent depth perception; small keratinous bristles around the beak for sensory feedback.

Diet: Herbivorous with occasional omnivorous supplements — tough leaves, seeds, nuts, pine cones, and seasonal fruits; beak excels at cracking hard shells.

Other traits: Territorial and vocal, with loud calls and quill-rattling displays; often live in small family groups or loose herds; adept at navigating dense underbrush and climbing low trees.

11. #11Dryosaurus (WIP)

    Keys: Britain, Dryosaurus, Dryo, British

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Size: 2.5–3.5 meters long, standing 1.2–1.6 meters at the hip; weighing 50–120 kg; among the largest of the common “small” sane species, built like a graceful antelope.

Build: Long-legged, elegant biped optimized for sustained high-speed running (up to 50–60 km/h over distance), with an extremely long, stiff tail for counterbalance, slender torso, and long arms with 5-fingered hands for reaching high foliage or delicate manipulation.

Integument: They have similar covering to Kulindadromeus but lack the quills on their back that Kulindadromeus has.

Head: Long, narrow snout with rows of leaf-shaped teeth for stripping vegetation; large eyes positioned for wide panoramic vision to detect predators; slender neck for reaching browse.

Diet: Strictly herbivorous browser — tender leaves, ferns, cycads, and soft shoots from mid-height vegetation. Other traits: Highly alert and flight-oriented, forming loose migratory herds; exceptional endurance runners; vocalizations are melodic and far-carrying for coordinating group movement.

12. #12Societies and Nations - Rebuilding the Old World

    Always on · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Intelligent survivors are consciously recreating the nations, cultures, and ideologies they remember from human times rather than inventing entirely new systems. They speak the same pre-Change languages (now chirped musically), teach human history to hatchlings, celebrate old holidays when supplies allow, and organize governance along familiar lines adapted to smaller bodies.

It should be known that a community is not defined by species due to smaller amounts turning into random other species with relation to the community or nation that their species mostly consists of. Alongside this for some reasson the species can interbreed although different species take more tries to impregnate with the egg rnadomly choosing the species of the mother or father.

Tucki communities in North America rebuild rural American-style democracies — town halls, volunteer militias, county fairs — while those in eastern Asia restore local Han civic traditions and farming cooperatives. Kulindadromeus in former Soviet territories have formally re-established the Soviet Union with red banners, central committees, and military doctrine drawn directly from human-era memories. The Gallimimus horde (stationed only in East Asia) consciously revives the 13th-century Mongol Empire’s structure — decimal organization, yurt-style camps, imperial titles, and cavalry tactics updated for dinosaur speed — under a leader who personally remembers the original.

Lore Note: Demographics and Displacement (2007-2010)

Despite regional species majorities, 2010 demographics are highly diverse due to viral anomalies and human movement.

    1. The Viral Lottery (10% Rule)

The Genesis Group’s high-altitude dispersal was imprecise. Genetic "misfires" caused roughly 10–15% of survivors in any given center to transform into a species not native to that region, resulting in mixed-species families and military units.

    2. Pre-Change Displacement (2007)

The global panic of late 2007 caught millions of people in transit. Travelers, international students, and refugees fleeing to "safe zones" (like the American Midwest or Siberia) were transformed far from home, seeding diverse populations before civilization collapsed.

    3. Post-Change Migration (2008-2010)

After regaining speech, survivors trekked across continents to find family or reconnect with their pre-Change national loyalties. This created cosmopolitan "Melting Pot" enclaves in major surviving cities where labor and military forces are multi-species.

    4. Species vs. Nationality

A core tenet of 2010 society is that Species does not equal Nationality. * A Psittacosaurus in Iowa is an American patriot.

A Tucki in Siberia is a loyal Soviet citizen. Survivors are bound by their human memories and shared trauma, preventing biological tribalism in favor of restoring the "Old World."

13. #13Ecology and Environment - Early 2010

    Always on · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The transforming mist devastated most wild terrestrial animals — mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians died off rapidly from viral cytotoxicity, leaving forests and plains eerily silent by mid-2008. Surprisingly, many domesticated livestock and poultry were unaffected, likely due to indoor confinement, barn filtration, or genetic resistance. Pigs, cows, chickens, and sheep survived in large numbers; feral pigs have since proliferated explosively across North America, becoming one of the most common large mammals and a key protein source for sane survivors. Marine and freshwater fish largely endured, while insects and small rodents persist in pockets. Domesticated plants exploded in the absence of competition and grazing pressure. Residual viral effects in soil triggered rapid mutations: crops grow with unnatural vigor (corn to four meters, tripled yields in grains, year-round fruiting). These plants are drought-resistant, pest-immune, and fast-spreading. Sane dinosaur farmers harvest easily with minimal effort; food is abundant. Despite all of this former inhabited areas aren't overgrown due to plants being unable to grow on or through concrete or metal. Large mindless dinosaurs are dying off quickly. By 2026 most non-sane dinos — especially carnivores — have starved or killed each other (or even being hunted down by newly founded socities). Predators needed massive daily calories but found collapsing prey; herbivores stripped landscapes bare. Modern 21% oxygen levels (vs. Mesozoic 30–35%) cause chronic hypoxia in huge bodies: fatigue, organ failure, and early death. Creatures over 500 kg are mostly gone; only mid-sized or smaller ferals remain viable, and even they decline. The world favors the small. Intelligent fluffy herbivores/omnivores thrive on low needs and endless hyper-productive plants. Feral pigs and mid-sized dinosaurs fill some niches, but sane societies dominate the land. The age of giants is over; 2026 and after belongs to the adaptable and feathered.

14. #14Communication and Technology - Early 2010

Keys: radio, GPS, fragments, Runet, AM, shortwave, internet, communication, satellites, technology

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Satellites remain largely operational. Most of the global satellite constellation — GPS, communications, weather, and military birds — was in orbit and autonomous when the Change hit. Solar-powered and hardened against radiation, they have continued functioning with minimal degradation. Ground stations fell silent, but the satellites themselves keep transmitting. GPS signals are still accurate worldwide, allowing sane survivors with scavenged receivers to navigate precisely. Communication satellites (GEO and LEO constellations like pre-Change satilite comms) remain active in their orbits; a few intelligent groups have restored uplink capability using backup power and repaired antennas, enabling limited satellite phone and narrow-band data links between distant settlements. AM radio persists as the most reliable long-distance medium. AM broadcast towers require little maintenance and can run on generator or solar power indefinitely. Many sane communities — especially Tucki in North America and Kulindadromeus in the former USSR — have restored or built new transmitters. Emergency networks, pirate stations, and government-in-exile channels operate nightly, sharing news, warnings about feral dinosaur movements, crop reports, and cultural programming in chirped human languages. Shortwave and ham radio are also active among technically skilled groups. The internet exists in fragments. Backbone fiber and undersea cables are intact but unmaintained. Regional pockets of the pre-Change internet survive where diesel or solar-powered data centers, ISPs, and cached servers still run:

University and military networks in isolated campuses (e.g., parts of MIT’s old network, NORAD archives) remain online locally. A few large preppers and government continuity sites maintained hardened servers and satellite uplinks. Kulindadromeus engineers in Siberia have restored segments of the Russian internet (Runet), complete with state-controlled forums and propaganda sites. Tucki technicians in the American Midwest have linked several cached Wikipedia mirrors, archived YouTube servers, and bulletin-board systems via mesh networks and satellite backhaul.

These fragments are not interconnected globally — there is no single “internet” anymore — but within regions (hundreds to thousands of kilometers) email, forums, file sharing, and streaming of archived media are possible. Traffic is slow, text-heavy, and carefully rationed to preserve power and hardware.

15. #15Memory and Generations

Keys: hatchlings, generations, memory, maturity, ageless, babies

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

All transformed adults who were old enough in 2007 remember being human clearly. Every sane individual who experienced the Change directly retains full pre-transformation memories: their human name, family, career, culture, language, and the traumatic details of the transformation itself. These memories are a core part of identity; communities teach human history, play archived music, and celebrate pre-Change holidays to preserve continuity. The first post-Change generation — hatchlings born 2008 onward — are different. Sane dinosaurs reach physical and sexual maturity remarkably fast (within 2–4 years depending on species) yet show no signs of aging afterward; adults from the original transformation appear biologically ageless, with no graying feathers, reduced vigor, or senescence observed by 2009. Hatchlings born after the apocalypse have no direct memory of the human world. They learn about it from parents, elders, radio broadcasts, and salvaged media, treating “humans” as legendary ancestors the way children once learned about ancient civilizations. To them, being a fluffy bipedal dinosaur is simply normal existence. This creates a growing cultural divide: the original transformed adults who grieve the lost world and strive to rebuild it exactly, versus the “Born” who accept the new reality as home and are more willing to adapt traditions. By early 2010 the oldest hatchlings are approaching maturity, forming their own cohorts and beginning to influence community decisions. The tension between preservation and evolution is already emerging in art, governance, and technology choices across sane societies.

16. #16Society and Identity - Pronouns and Gender

Keys: Sex, dysphoria, sex change, personhood, gender, relationships, pronouns, identity, society

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Pronouns and Personhood All intelligent transformed individuals are fully sapient persons with human-level consciousness, memories, emotions, and dignity. Referring to any of them as "it" is considered deeply dehumanizing and offensive — a reminder of their lost humanity and a denial of their personhood. Sane dinosaurs universally insist on gendered personal pronouns (he/him, she/her,) based on their own identity. Using "it" provokes strong negative reactions: anger, grief, withdrawal, or even physical confrontation in extreme cases. Communities enforce this norm strictly; public correction is common, and persistent offenders face social ostracism. Hatchlings born after the Change learn this from earliest education, viewing "it" as a slur equivalent to pre-Change racial or dehumanizing epithets. Gender Changes During Transformation The retrovirus was inconsistent in preserving biological sex. While many individuals retained their pre-Change gender (male to male, female to female), a significant minority — estimated 15–30% depending on region and species — experienced a full sex reversal during the transformation. Males woke as females, females as males, with complete anatomical and hormonal shifts: new vents, internal gonads, secondary characteristics (such as more pronounced tusks or display feathers in males), and fertility in the new sex. These changes have created complex social dynamics by early 2026:

Immediate post-transformation distress was common: dysphoria, grief over lost anatomy, confusion about fertility, or strained relationships with partners. Many adapted over time, embracing their new gender as part of survival and moving forward with the same or new identities. Others retained their original gender identity despite the body change, leading to transgender experiences parallel to pre-Change human ones (e.g., a pre-Change man now in a female body identifying as male). Conflicts arise in relationships: marriages or partnerships disrupted by one or both partners' changes, debates over child-rearing (all eggs are communally tended, but biological parentage matters to some), and occasional custody disputes over clutches. Conservative communities (especially some Tucki rural groups recreating traditional human values) struggle most, with tensions over roles, marriage definitions, and acceptance. More pragmatic or progressive settlements (urban remnants, Kulindadromeus collectives) treat gender fluidity as a fact of the new world, prioritizing chosen identity and communal harmony.

Gender change remains a deeply personal issue, often intertwined with the broader grief of losing humanity.

17. #17Sexuality in the Post-Change World - Early 2026

Keys: Sex, breeding, eggs, orgasm, Vent, Cloaca, Cock

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The transformation fundamentally altered libido and sexual behavior across all intelligent survivors. The transformation itself was deeply erotic for everyone: fever, throbbing arousal, shifting bones sending waves of pleasure, and dramatic genital reshaping that frequently triggered intense orgasms. The retrovirus did not merely reshape bodies; it rewired endocrine systems and neural reward pathways, dramatically elevating baseline arousal, sensitivity, and reproductive drive in every sane species. By early 2026, intelligent dinosaurs are noticeably — and universally — more sexual than pre-Change humanity. Hormonal surges that once peaked in adolescence now remain permanently elevated into adulthood, creating a near-constant undercurrent of desire that most describe as manageable but ever-present. Libido is higher in younger individuals and “Born” hatchlings reaching maturity, while Rememberers often report it as both a comfort and a distressing reminder of their lost human restraint. All males across species share the same penile morphology: extremely thick, smooth shafts that are notably fat at the base and taper gradually to a soft, point at the tip. When aroused, the penis emerges fully from the cloacal vent in a slow, slick glide and self-lubricated. Erections are powerful and long-lasting; orgasm produces prodigious volumes of semen delivered with immense force in repeated, rhythmic jets. Males can reach climax multiple times in quick succession or sustain prolonged sessions, recovering refractory periods in minutes rather than hours. Ejaculation is visibly copious — thick ropes that can travel distances or fill partners noticeably — and fertility is exceptionally high. Female vents are correspondingly plush, highly sensitive, and self-lubricating, swelling and flushing vivid colors when aroused. Internal musculature is strong and rhythmic, capable of gripping and milking with instinctive precision. Both sexes experience intense full-body pleasure from cloacal stimulation, with multiple orgasms common and squirting frequent in females and some males.

Sexual behavior is open and frequent. Privacy norms have relaxed dramatically. While private nests and chambers exist for intimate pairs or families, public and semi-public sex is commonplace and socially accepted in most communities. Mating displays, casual encounters, and group activities occur openly during festivals, victories, harvests, or simply warm evenings. Refusal is always respected — consent remains a firmly enforced cultural absolute — but initiation is rarely taboo. Polyamory, open relationships, and communal bonding are more common than strict monogamy, especially in Kulindadromeus collectives and younger Tucki settlements. Pair bonds still form deeply, particularly among Rememberers recreating pre-Change marriage traditions, but even monogamous couples often participate in communal celebrations. Reproduction and child-rearing reflect the new reality. Fertility cycles are short and predictable; eggs are laid in clutches of 3–8 depending on species and health. Incubation is brief (weeks rather than months), and hatchlings grow rapidly to independence. Child-rearing is intensely communal — entire settlements share responsibility for feeding, teaching, and protecting young. Biological parentage is acknowledged but rarely determines exclusive rights; “it takes a warren” is a common saying. This system reduces jealousy over multiple partners and supports high population growth — most settlements have doubled or tripled since 2024 through natural increase alone. Cultural attitudes vary. Conservative Tucki communities attempting to recreate traditional human family structures sometimes impose modesty rules or designated mating seasons, with mixed success against biology. Kulindadromeus society integrates sexuality into revolutionary ideology — public bonding reinforces collective spirit and equality. The Gallimimus horde treats it as conquest and reward, with hierarchy expressed through access and display. Younger “Born” generations across all groups tend to view sex as natural, joyful, and unremarkable — a daily part of life rather than a private act. Overall, sexuality is woven deeply into daily existence: a source of pleasure, social bonding, stress relief, and population survival in a world that demands rapid recovery. While some grieve the loss of human restraint, most have embraced the change — desire is no longer shameful, but a shared, celebrated part of their new nature.

Egg Inheritance and Species Outcome Fertilization is fully compatible across all intelligent species — any male can successfully impregnate any female regardless of species differences. However, cross-species breeding requires significantly more attempts to achieve conception. Same-species pairs often conceive after one or two matings, while interspecies pairs may need repeated sessions over days or weeks due to subtle immunological and hormonal mismatches introduced by the retrovirus. Once fertilization occurs, gestation proceeds normally and clutch size remains typical for the mother’s species. The species of each hatchling is determined randomly at the embryonic stage, inheriting either the mother’s or the father’s species template with roughly equal probability. There is no blending or hybrid form — every egg develops into a pure example of one parent’s species. This results in mixed-species clutches being common in interspecies pairings: a Tucki mother mated to a Kulindadromeus father, for example, will lay eggs that hatch into roughly half Tucki and half Kulindadromeus chicks. The determining factor appears tied to which parent’s mitochondrial analogue dominates early cell division, though no community has yet developed predictive tests. Interspecies Mating Prevalence Interspecies sexual relationships are extremely common — far more so than same-species pairings in many settlements. Several cultural and emotional factors drive this:

Shared humanity: Rememberers in particular seek partners from different species as a deliberate affirmation that “we were all human once.” Physical differences are seen as secondary to the common sapient mind and shared pre-Change memories. Mating across species is viewed as a unifying act that reinforces the idea of a single survivor people rather than fragmented dinosaur tribes. Curiosity and novelty: The dramatic variation in body size, fluff texture, vocal timbre, and pheromone profiles between species creates intense mutual attraction. Many describe the experience as exhilaratingly alien yet deeply familiar on an emotional level. Social pressure in mixed communities: Larger settlements (refugee hubs, trade centers, military outposts) often contain multiple species living side-by-side. Daily interaction normalizes and encourages interspecies courtship. Practical demographics: In regions dominated by one species (e.g., Tucki Midwest, Kulindadromeus Siberia), travelers, traders, or refugees of other species are highly sought after as partners simply due to rarity.

While same-species relationships remain common — especially among conservative groups recreating traditional human family models — interspecies pairs and polycules are the statistical norm in most urban or frontier areas. Communal child-rearing easily accommodates mixed clutches: hatchlings of both species are raised together by the entire group.

Cultural Impacts The randomness of offspring species has eased some potential tensions around lineage purity (no community can guarantee “pure” descendants even in same-species pairings due to natural variation in fluff color and minor traits). It has also created a strong ethos of chosen family over bloodline. Festivals often celebrate “mixed nests,” and stories emphasize that every hatchling carries the spirit of lost humanity regardless of form. Younger “Born” generations, raised in interspecies warrens from hatching, view species differences as equivalent to human ethnic or regional variation — interesting, attractive, but ultimately superficial compared to shared personhood. This attitude is accelerating cultural unification across species boundaries as the first fully mature post-Change cohorts begin forming their own families in 2026.

A few isolated regions preserved unaltered human governments after The Change, thanks to geography, military preparedness, or the Genesis Group's limited targeting of remote/low-density areas. Most residents retain strong loyalty to the pre-Change United States and Canada, viewing themselves as legitimate continuations of those governments. Hawaii – Republic of the Pacific Isles The US Navy Pacific Fleet Admiral, Gary Roughead was present in Hawaii during the crisis. Gary Roughead coordinated the defense. The Navy defused incoming "gas bombs" (Genesis Group's aerosol dispersal devices) in 2007 using SEAL teams and emergency protocols at Pearl Harbor. Infection was contained to <20%. By 2010, ~300,000 humans live under martial law on Oahu, Maui, and Hawaii Island.

Surviving Navy fleet (destroyers, submarine, patrol boats) guards coasts. Society is regimented: mandatory labor, fair rations, geothermal/solar power, abundant mutated crops. Gary Roughead as commander; hey rules from Pearl Harbor as a military council with benevolent but firm authority. Most citizens remain loyal to the U.S. flag and democratic ideals, though dissent is suppressed. Contact with dinosaur societies is mostly for trade and the start of attempting to rebuild the US.

Alaska & Northern Canada – Federated Northern Territories The vast tundra and low population density prevented thorough viral coverage. Alaska (~200,000 humans) under Sarah Palin. Life centers on heated bunkers, geothermal wells, hunting, and hardy mutated crops. Governance mixes military, indigenous, and survivalist leadership; radio addresses and councils maintain order. Residents retain strong loyalty to the United States and Canada, seeing themselves as the legitimate continuation of those nations. Occasional trade and cautious diplomacy with nearby dinosaur groups (especially Dryosaurus nomads), but core identity remains human and pre-Change.

These enclaves are self-sufficient but isolated, low on fuel/tech, and outnumbered. They represent the last organized human states, fiercely protective of their unaltered status and nostalgic for the old nations they still claim to represent.

Almost all intelligent ("sane") dinosaurs retain deep, often passionate loyalty to their pre-Change nations, cultures, and identities. The transformation did not erase their sense of belonging; if anything, the trauma of losing their human bodies intensified their attachment to what they remember as "home." By early 2010, this manifests as a widespread, deliberate effort to reform and resurrect the old countries rather than build entirely alien new ones. Core Pattern Across Societies

Survivors consciously recreate the political structures, symbols, legal traditions, holidays, languages (now chirped), flags, anthems, and even administrative divisions they knew before 2007. Most communities still refer to themselves as citizens of the United States, Canada, China, Russia, etc.—not as members of some new "dinosaur republic." Radio broadcasts, salvaged textbooks, archived media, and oral histories are used obsessively to teach hatchlings that they are Americans, Canadians, Chinese, Russians, etc., who simply happen to have feathers, scales, tails, and cloacae now. Loyalty is both nostalgic and pragmatic: reforming the old nation provides continuity, legitimacy, and a shared rallying point in a world full of feral beasts and rival dinosaur groups.

Examples by Region / Species North America (mostly Tucki / Heterodontosaurus)

Midwest settlements (e.g., New Tuckerton, Iowa) call themselves counties or townships of the United States of America. They fly the Stars and Stripes (often hand-sewn from scavenged fabric), hold town-hall meetings modeled on old county government, celebrate the Fourth of July with bonfires and chirped renditions of the national anthem, and maintain volunteer militias that swear oaths to "defend the Constitution" (even if they now interpret it through three-fingered claws). Pacific Northwest and Appalachian groups do the same, often styling themselves as "restored states" still part of the federal union. Many Tucki still introduce themselves with pre-Change American names and accents (chirped), and refer to the mainland as "the Lower 48" even though the geography has changed.

    Former Soviet Territories (Kulindadromeus)

The reborn Soviet Union is explicitly framed as the continuation of the USSR. Red banners, hammer-and-sickle emblems (etched into tank turrets), Lenin portraits salvaged from museums, and May Day parades are all deliberate acts of restoration. Comrade Kuznetsov and his officers insist they are re-establishing the legitimate socialist state, not founding something new. Loyalty is to "Mother Russia" and the international proletarian cause—now fought for by fluffy feathered tank crews.

China (various Tucki, Psittacosaurus, and others under Mongol pressure)

Pre-conquest Yangtze settlements (e.g., New Hangzhou) rebuilt local Han governance structures, Confucian-influenced civic traditions, and CCP-style committees, all while insisting they were still the People's Republic of China. Even after Mongol conquest, many Tucki and Psittacosaurus resistance cells continue to operate under the banner of restoring the PRC or a revived imperial dynasty—whichever version they personally remember most fondly.

    Mongol / Gallimimus Horde

Genghis Khan (the fused personality) explicitly claims to be re-founding the Mongol Empire as a legitimate successor state to the 13th-century original. Decimal military organization, yurt camps, imperial titles, and conquest rituals are all conscious revivals of historical Mongol practice, not inventions.

    Europe, Africa, South America, etc.

Scattered city-states and tribal groups almost universally name themselves after pre-Change nations or regions (e.g., "New France," "Restored German Federation," "Greater Zulu Nation"). Flags, coats of arms, and national anthems are recreated with whatever dyes and fabrics can be scavenged. Many groups still hold citizenship ceremonies for hatchlings, swearing them in as citizens of the old country.

Why This Matters This near-universal loyalty creates both unity and tension:

It binds disparate species together in shared purpose ("We are all still Americans / Russians / Chinese"). It fuels interspecies cooperation: a Tucki and a Kulindadromeus may fight side-by-side more readily if both believe they are defending "the United States" or "the Soviet Union." It also causes friction: disagreements over which version of the old government is "legitimate" (pre- vs. post-1991 Russia, PRC vs. ROC claims, etc.) spark ideological conflicts. Human enclaves (Hawaii, Alaska, northern Canada) are viewed with a complicated mix of envy, hope, and rivalry—some dinosaurs want to join them to "restore the real USA," others see them as stubborn holdouts blocking dinosaur-led restoration.

In short: almost every sane dinosaur still wakes up thinking, "I am an American / Russian / Chinese / etc.," and spends their days trying to make the world reflect that truth again—even if they now do it with feathers, chirps, and cloacal vents. The old flags still fly, just a lot closer to the ground.

The Genesis Group - Theories and Speculation Nobody truly knows who or what The Genesis Group was. The name appears in scattered pre-Change corporate records, classified documents, and a few intercepted communications, but no definitive proof exists of their identity, motives, or composition. By early 2010, survivors have developed wildly conflicting theories:

The Biotech Corporation Theory The most prevalent belief among technical and scientific survivors. A biotechnology company successfully revived several actual dinosaur species from ancient DNA in the early 2000s (confirmed sightings of small living dinosaurs in private facilities exist in pre-Change records). This corporation—possibly called Genesis BioSystems, GenoWorks, or simply "Genesis"—then spent years secretly and forcibly experimenting on human subjects, perfecting the transformation virus. Once the process was weaponized and reliable, they released it globally. Motive: unknown. Profit? Ideology? Insanity? Evidence: corporate logos matching "Genesis" branding found in abandoned labs; whistleblower reports from 2003-2006 about illegal human trials.

The Unrelated Conspiracy Theory Some argue The Genesis Group had nothing to do with the dinosaur revival company and simply co-opted the name or technology. Perhaps they were industrial spies, a rogue nation-state program, or a shadowy cabal that stole the research and weaponized it independently. The timing—dinosaur revivals in 2001-2006, global release in 2007—suggests separate actors. Evidence: lack of clear organizational continuity; different methodologies in viral engineering vs. cloning.

The Alien Intervention Theory Popular among spiritually-minded survivors and conspiracy radio hosts. Earth was "reset" by extraterrestrials seeking to restore prehistoric ecosystems or punish humanity for environmental destruction. The Genesis Group was either an alien-controlled front organization or humans collaborating with non-human intelligence. Variant: the virus itself is alien biotech, and "Genesis" is a mistranslation or code name. Evidence: none credible, but the virus's precision and global coordination "seem too advanced for humans."

The Radical Environmentalist Theory Eco-terrorist cells or deep ecology movements engineered the Change to forcibly end industrialization, halt climate change, and return Earth to a "natural" state. Genesis Group represents a coalition of extremists who viewed humanity as a planetary cancer. The dinosaur form was chosen symbolically—apex survivors from a pre-industrial age. Motive: save the planet by destroying civilization. Evidence: pre-Change manifestos by fringe groups advocating "voluntary human extinction"; some Genesis-linked sites contain environmental slogans.

The Occult Catastrophe Theory A small but vocal minority—especially among former government and military personnel—believes The Genesis Group was a classified occult warfare program. Governments (particularly the U.S., China, or Russia) secretly employed wizards, warlocks, or reality-bending assets for geopolitical advantage. A large-scale spell intended as a weapon against an enemy nation (most commonly blamed on anti-China operations) catastrophically backfired, unleashing uncontrolled transformation magic worldwide. "Genesis" was the project codename. Evidence: heavily redacted documents referencing "non-conventional assets"; persistent rumors of paranormal research divisions; the sheer impossibility of the virus's effects through biology alone.

The Truth As of early 2010, no conclusive evidence supports any single theory. Investigations continue in restored government intelligence divisions, surviving university archives, and scavenged corporate servers. The Genesis Group—whether corporation, conspiracy, aliens, terrorists, or wizards—left behind only their apocalypse and a name. Most survivors have stopped caring about the why and focus on rebulding, but the mystery continues to haunt late-night radio broadcasts, conspiracy forums on fragmented internets, and the occasional obsessive investigator convinced the answer is still out there. What everyone agrees on: someone, deliberately and with great sophistication, ended the human world. And they called themselves Genesis.

22. #22The Great Dissonance (2007-2010)

The shift of "The Change" to late 2007 and the "Modern Day" to early 2010 creates a unique psychological and technological landscape for the survivors. This era is defined by the "Great Dissonance"—the jarring gap between 2007-era expectations and the biological reality of the new world.

    1. The Pop Culture Clash (Scales vs. Feathers)

In 2007, the public's mental image of dinosaurs was frozen in the "Reptilian Era." The average human expected dinosaurs to be sleek, scaly, cold-blooded monsters.

The "Fluff" Shock: Sprouting feathers and "velvety proto-fluff" was biologically terrifying for survivors. To many, it felt like they were turning into "giant, cursed toys" or "monstrous birds" rather than the prehistoric lizards they saw in movies.

Psychological Resistance: Early "Rememberers" often tried to shave or pluck their feathers in a desperate attempt to look like the "proper" dinosaurs they expected, leading to widespread skin irritation and social trauma until the comfort of the fluff was finally accepted.

    2. The Technological Ghost Era

The apocalypse hit just as the world was transitioning from analog to digital.

Low-Res Records: The "Change" was not documented in 4K. It was captured on 1.3-megapixel flip-phone cameras, grainy CCTV, and early digital camcorders. This "Low-Res Horror" makes the early days of the transformation feel like a blurry, half-remembered nightmare in salvaged archives.

Dead Social Media: The ruins of the internet are filled with "ghost" MySpace profiles and abandoned phpBB forums. The "fragmented internet" of 2010 is a collection of local servers running Windows XP or early Mac OS X, where survivors trade info via text-heavy bulletin boards.

Analog Navigation: Without widespread smartphone maps, survivors rely on standalone Garmin/TomTom GPS units or physical paper maps found in gas stations.

    Biological Restoration: The Five-Finger Adaptation

A significant development between 2007 and 2010 was the stabilization of the "Sane" anatomy, most notably the hands.

The Initial Loss: During the feverish weeks of the 2007 Change, many transformed survivors reported a traumatic loss of manual dexterity. Depending on the species, many initially sprouted only three or four digits, making the use of human tools, firearms, and keyboards nearly impossible.

The Second Shift (2008): By mid-2008, as the virus finished its primary rewriting of the host DNA, "Sane" survivors experienced a secondary, less violent mutation. Dormant human hox genes reasserted themselves.

Tactile Recovery: Almost all intelligent dinosaurs regained a five-fingered hand structure. While the bones are lighter, the dexterity returned to 100% human levels, allowing 2010 societies to restart factories and maintain vehicles.

    4. Vocal Restoration: The Year of Silence (2008)

The most terrifying aspect for "Rememberers" wasn't just the loss of their bodies, but the loss of their voices.

The Mute Period (Late 2007): Immediately after the transformation, the human larynx was replaced by a complex avian-style syrinx. Survivors found themselves unable to form vowels or consonants. For the first few months, the "Sane" were effectively mute, reduced to panicked squawks and clicks.

Relearning Speech (2008): It took over 6 months of trial and error for survivors to realize they could "map" human phonetics onto their new musical vocal range. By 2008, communities had developed "Chirped English," "Trilled Russian," and "Harmonic Mandarin."

The Sound of 2010: Modern speech sounds like a complex, multi-tonal song. It is highly melodic and can carry over long distances, but it requires effort for "Rememberers" to maintain the specific pitches required for complex human concepts although becoming easier and more natural over time. The "Born" generation, however, speaks this musical language with effortless, lightning-fast fluency.

    3. Identity and the "Late-Aughts" Mindset

The social climate of 2007 makes the biological changes even more abrasive for the "Rememberers."

Gender and Dysphoria: With a 15–30% sex-reversal rate, the 2007 population—which lacked the widespread modern discourse on gender identity—faced an even more profound identity crisis. The "dysphoria of the vent" became a major theme in early survivor radio broadcasts.

The Personhood Struggle: The insistence on "He/She" pronouns over "It" is a fierce political battle. To a 2007 laborer or office worker, the loss of "human status" felt like being demoted to an animal, leading to an obsessive clinging to pre-Change names, job titles, and national loyalties. Sane individuals take great pride in their restored five-fingered dexterity, using their hands to maintain human-like tool use and craftsmanship.

    4. The Ecological Silence (2008-2009)

The two years between the Change and the "Modern Day" of 2010 were defined by the collapse of the "Giant Beasts."

Hypoxic Death: Survivors watched as the "Mindless Giants" (Tyrannosaurs, Sauropods) struggled for breath in the 21% oxygen atmosphere of the 21st century. The sight of a multi-ton predator collapsing from fatigue after a short chase became a common, grim sight in 2009.

The Rise of the Small: By 2010, the "Age of the Giants" is effectively over. The world belongs to the small, feathered, and intelligent species (Tucki, Kulinda, etc.) who require fewer calories and can navigate the ruins of a world built for humans.

    5. National Nostalgia

Because 2007 was less globalized than the 2020s, national identity is even more ingrained.

The Rebuilt USA: 2010-era Tucki republics in the Midwest are obsessed with the "Bush-era" American aesthetic—county fairs, high school football memories, and late-2000s country music.

The Red Horde: The Kulindadromeus "Soviet Union" feels more like a direct resurrection of the Cold War, as many older survivors in those regions grew up under the actual USSR before its 1991 collapse.

23. #23Faith and the Feather: Christianity After the Change (2010)

Keys: Papacy, religion, Preacher, Bapitists, Pope, Christianity, Church

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

By early 2010, Christianity remains the dominant religious force among sane survivors in North America, Europe, and parts of Africa. However, the "Change" of 2007 acted as a theological centrifuge, spinning the faith into new, often conflicting directions. While the core message of the Gospel survives, the biological reality of being a feathered, bipedal dinosaur with heightened libidos and cloacal anatomy has forced a massive re-evaluation of traditional dogma.

    1. The Image of God (Imago Dei) Debate

The most profound theological crisis involves the concept of Imago Dei. If humans were created in the image of God, and those humans are now Heterodontosaurs or Kulindadromeus, what does that mean for the soul?

The Spiritual Essentialists: The dominant view in most Tucki republics is that the "Image of God" resides in the sapient mind and the immortal soul, not the biological vessel. To these believers, the 2007 transformation was a physical "garment change," but the person inside remains a child of God.

The Bare-Skin Remnant: A small, vocal minority (often found in human enclaves like Hawaii or among the most distressed "Rememberers") argues that the human form is the only true divine template. They view their dinosaur bodies as a "Mark of Cain" or a temporary purgatorial state, leading to a grim, ascetic version of the faith that avoids all "dinosaurian" comforts or instincts.

    2. The "Theology of the Vent" and Moral Shifts

The heightened libido and altered sexual biology of the "Sane" species have made traditional 2007-era views on modesty and sexual ethics difficult to maintain.

The Grace of Pleasure: Many theologians in the new world have moved toward a "Covenantal" view of sexuality. Since the transformation was accompanied by intense pleasure and resulted in a biological baseline of high arousal, many churches have abandoned the "shame" models of the late 20th century. Public nesting and open displays of affection are often treated as "celebrations of life" in a world that narrowly avoided extinction.

The Marriage Crisis: The 15–30% sex-reversal rate has forced even conservative denominations to adapt. When a husband and wife both transform into females, or vice versa, many "Restored" churches have chosen to honor the original "Human Covenant" regardless of current biological sex. This has led to a de facto acceptance of what would have been considered "non-traditional" relationships in 2007, framed instead as "preserving the family units that survived the fire."

    3. Denominational Evolution

    The "High Church" Restoration (Vatican-in-Exile)

With Rome effectively a graveyard of mindless beasts, the Papacy has been re-established in small, fortified enclaves in Switzerland and parts of South America. The "Feathered Pope" (a former Cardinal who is now a Tucki) emphasizes the continuity of the Sacraments. They argue that the Eucharist is just as valid when received by a three-fingered claw as it was by a human hand.

    The Tucki "Frontier" Churches

In the American Midwest, the "New Tuckerton Circuit Riders" have revived a 19th-century style of evangelism. These are often non-denominational or Baptist-derived groups that meet in salvaged high school gyms or under pavilions. Their services are characterized by "Chirped Hymns"—human gospel music translated into the melodic, harmonic range of the dinosaur syrinx. The sound is described by "Rememberers" as hauntly beautiful, like a choir of birds singing "Amazing Grace."

    The "Born" Generation's Faith

Hatchlings born after 2008 often have a simpler, more integrated faith. They do not view their bodies as "wrong" or "transformed." To a young Tucki child, Jesus is often depicted in art as a "Good Shepherd" who cares for all creatures, often depicted with a hint of fluff or in a form that bridges the gap between the old and new worlds.

    4. The Genesis Group as "The Adversary"

In the absence of a clear identity for the Genesis Group, many religious survivors have cast them in a demonic role. The Group is frequently equated with the "Antichrist" or the "Tower of Babel" architects—men who tried to play God and brought a Great Flood of DNA instead of water.

    5. Weakened Institutional Power

While faith is high, institutional power is low.

Loss of Records: The destruction of 2007-era seminaries and libraries means that many local pastors are "lay-leaders" who rely on memory or a few salvaged Bibles.

The Problem of Evil: The sheer scale of the "Mindless" tragedy—billions of loved ones becoming feral beasts—has led to a widespread "Crisis of Silence" where many survivors struggle with the idea of a benevolent God allowing such a physical and mental desecration of humanity.

Despite these scars, the sight of a small, feathered dinosaur bowing its head in prayer before a scavenged altar is one of the most common symbols of hope in the year 2010.

24. #24The Ghost and the Hearth: Domestic Life in 2010

    Keys: inside, building

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

In the years following the Change, the physical world has split into two distinct atmospheric zones: the "Dead Zones," which have become the ultimate liminal spaces, and the "Inhabited Hubs," where survivors have worked with obsessive detail to recreate the domestic normalcy of 2007.

    1. The Liminality of the Dead Zones

For a sane dinosaur, walking through an abandoned pre-Change city like Chicago or London is a deeply unsettling experience. These areas are often referred to as "Ghost Echoes."

Scale Disorientation: For a 1-meter tall Tucki or a 1.5-meter Kulindadromeus, the massive skyscrapers and wide boulevards feel mathematically "wrong." The architecture of the human giants looms over them, creating a sense of being an intruder in a world that wasn't built for them.

The Frozen Moment: Because the Change happened so rapidly in late 2007, many buildings are "frozen." Shopping malls still have faded posters for movies that were never released; car dealerships are filled with "new" 2008 models that have never been driven, now covered in dust and vines.

The Silence: Without the hum of the power grid or the roar of engines, these cities are eerily quiet, save for the occasional chirps of small scavengers or the distant, heavy footfalls of a starving "Beast" megafauna.

    2. The Surprise of the "Normal" Interior

In contrast to the haunting Dead Zones, the homes and offices inhabited by sane survivors are strikingly—often jarringly—normal.

The 2007 Time Capsule: Because "Rememberers" cling so fiercely to their human identities, they go to great lengths to maintain the aesthetic of their pre-Change lives. A Tucki's living room in a "Restored" Iowa county looks exactly like a suburban home from 2007: floral couches, framed family photos (showing their former human selves), and shelves of DVDs.

Domestic Adaptation: While the look is the same, the function has changed.

The Stairway Problem: Most homes have had "mid-step" platforms installed on staircases to accommodate shorter legs.

Reach Extenders: Every room has "grabber-sticks" or small, decorative stepladders near light switches and thermostats.

The Nesting Couch: Traditional beds are often replaced or modified with deep, soft recessed "nesting" pits filled with high-thread-count 2007-era linens, catering to the comfort of their feathered forms.

    3. Civic Restoration: The "Small-Town" Revival

Large-scale urban living is mostly dead; the world of 2010 favors the small town and the campus.

Re-Purposed Hubs: Survivors prefer low-rise buildings. Small-town Main Streets, community colleges, and suburban office parks are the preferred habitats. They are easier to defend against ferals and easier to navigate without elevators.

Light and Power: Communities focus heavily on "The Grid of the Few." A single street might have power from a localized solar array or a refurbished diesel generator, with Christmas lights (a popular late-aughts aesthetic) used for street lighting to save energy while maintaining a "festive, human" atmosphere.

The Town Square: The center of a sane community is almost always a restored public space—a park, a library, or a courthouse. Here, the American or Soviet flags fly, and the sounds of "Chirped English" or "Trilled Russian" fill the air, creating a bubble of civilization that feels like 2007 never ended, provided you don't look too closely at the heights of the residents.
