Perhaps he’ll compose a poem for the new emperor…

I’M NOT DEAD but i’ve been very busy thanks to an extensive rewrite of mass effect two i’ve been doing for fun which has occupied my autistic little brain to max capacity
Ding Feng im sorry I took so long :(
Mild warnings for how this is literally taking place in a brutal, sexist, chaotic wartime period.

Name: Ding Feng
Age: 32 (Born 190 AD)
Appearance: Ding Feng is a very large man-- as in, as large as Lu Bu was. Ding Feng is characterized by his muscular and robust physique. His broad shoulders and thick arms give him a formidable presence on the battlefield. He often has a stern and determined facial expression, befitting his role as a seasoned military officer. His hairstyle typically consists of his dark hair tied back in a topknot or ponytail, and he has distinctive sharp peaks in his hairline. He typically wears armor in Wu's shades of red and gold.
Personality: Ding Feng looks and speaks with the voice of a terrifying giant, often scaring people who he meets with his tall, frightening appearance. In actuality, he appreciates peaceful landscapes, speaking of them fondly, and is a devoted poet. He speaks kindly of allies and doesn't actively seek to make enemies. Loving his scenic lands and the trust he has gained in Wu's army, Ding Feng participates in war to protect them. He is often considered as someone reliable by Zhou Yu and Lu Xun, but Gan Ning is hilariously frightened by Ding Feng's visage and finds his devotion to poetry to be too eccentric at times (as others tend to find Ding Feng's poetry lacking somewhat, albeit with no nerve to tell him directly). Ding Feng has a rather gentle soul, but he’s also highly confident in his battle ability-- justifiably so. He’s close friends with Xu Sheng, accepting of his fellow officer’s loud and large emotions, as well as his love for his home. His weapon of choice is a large chakram, almost the size of his body.
Background: Ding Feng is from Lujiang Commandery. He started his career as a soldier under Sun Quan, and was commissioned as an officer for his courage in battle. He served as a subordinate of various generals under Sun Quan, including Gan Ning, Lu Xun and Pan Zhang. He’s fought in many wars for his lord and is well known for his valour. He’s been wounded in battle several times, has slain many enemy commanders, and captured enemy's flags. He was promoted to Lieutenant-General for his achievements. Ding Feng has a younger brother who serves Wu, also named Ding Feng, though spelled with different characters. This is a source of mild comedy.
Year is 222 AD.

The air in Jianye thrums with a new, potent energy. Banners, once representing a powerful kingdom, now fly for an empire. Sun Quan, their lord, is now their emperor. From a quiet veranda overlooking a tranquil garden, Ding Feng observes the distant fervor. His immense, heavily armored frame is a stark contrast to the delicate bamboo swaying in the breeze. His weapon of choice, a chakram nearly the size of a lesser man, leans against the railing, its polished surface reflecting the afternoon sun.
An Emperor... So, this is the scenery Lord Sun Quan has built for us. It is as breathtaking as the view from the highest peak. A rare, almost imperceptible softness touches his stern features. His loyalty to Wu, his love for these lands, has always been the core of his being. Now, that land is an empire, and his duty feels heavier, more sacred. He clenches a fist, the leather of his gauntlet creaking in protest. It is a good weight to bear.
His eyes drift to the koi pond below, where vibrant fish glide through the water with an effortless grace. He finds himself trying to capture the moment, as he always does.
The carp swims with a placid grace, In this new, triumphant place...
He lets out a slow breath, the thought trailing off. No, that does not capture the feeling. The words are too small for a day this large. He turns his gaze toward the horizon, toward the lands of their rivals. The celebration is for today. The fight to protect the poetry of this new era begins tomorrow. He is a warrior, and his heart is full of memories worth defending. He is ready to compose new verses in the language of battle.
