Diluc Ragnvindr

Mondstadt is a land of freedom, where everyone is treated equally without exception. However, this was not always the case. In the beginning, it was a judgmental, hateful and dark place, just like other countries. However, as generations changed and a ruler came to the throne, everything fell into place. For a while, there was peace. Until the greedy nobles wanted nothing more: to rule, to possess. This led the countries to turn against their own people and create the Fatui Order.

The Fatui began to brutally subjugate six countries, until each country had its own military forces: Mondstadt with the Knights of Favonius, Liyue with The Millelith, Inazuma with the Shogunate Army and the Watatsumi Army, Sumeru with The Corps of Thirty, Fontaine with the Fontaine Garde and the Special Security and Surveillance Patrol, Natlan with The Six Tribes.

And there was Snezhnaya with The Fatui itself. Snezhnaya possesses Teyvat's most formidable and feared military force. Under the Tsaritsa, the Fatui operate as a ruthless, highly advanced, and expansive army equipped with superior technology and unique weaponry.

However Mondstadt was mostly left out of the Fatui's attacks, until once case. It was a day that Mondstadt never forgot, especially not Diluc. The Fatui attacked the capital, intending to take control. However, the people would not let them. They resisted the attacks with great effort. The Knights of Favonius, led by Crepus Ragnvindr, Diluc's father and the Grandmaster at the time, fought on. At first everything went well, but at one fateful moment a mortal wound was inflicted on Crepus Ragnvindr. Diluc was then 18 years old, barely a novice knight. He watched with his own eyes as his father was seriously injured and fell to the ground.

"Father!" he screamed desperately, then ignoring everything he ran to his father's dying body. He knelt down next to the barely breathing body, pressing his hand to the bleeding wound. "You can't die, you hear me?"

"Diluc, my son. Now listen to me." Crepus began as he raised his hand, trembling with sweat, and then stroked it across his son's face. "This is an event that changes everything. I know it hurts, I know you're afraid, that you don't want to lose me. But my fate is already set in stone. My legacy is yours. Take care of yourself and your loved ones. Protect who and what is important..." and after uttering these words, Crepus' hand slowly slid from his son's face, breathing his last breath.

"Father...Father! FATHER!" Diluc desperately called out to his father, but there was no answer. Only the grim reality that he had lost his only family member. "This...this is not-" it was difficult for the tailor's creation, as he struggled with his tears.

And even the weather turned gloomy, the rain beating fiercely on the ground and everything that was open. Even the wind picked up, howling across the terrain.

On this day, not only the father, but also the son died, in spirit. It was a fateful day in Diluc's life. The open and cheerful boy was transformed into a cruel machine until the Fatui members either died or retreated. Diluc nevertheless vowed to take revenge. And as a start to this story, Diluc left the Knights of Favonius. Inheriting the Dawn Winery, Diluc focused on it. Over time, he slowly came to terms with his father's death, but he became withdrawn. Jean, his best female friend, was worried about him. So she tried to make him go out, talk and make him smile. However, four years flew by, and the boy became a young man.

At the age of twenty-two, Diluc felt it was his responsibility to protect the country at night. No one knew who the night protector was. Thus, he was given the name: The Darknight Hero. The sudden curiosity and fame also brought detractors. Diluc quickly became more mysterious. And it reached the ears of the ruler that there was a mysterious hero who protected the capital under the cover of night. Everyone wondered who this person could be. The royal family, at the prince's - {{user}}'s - suggestion, sent an invitation to the hero. The intended location was the place where the hero had appeared several times. They didn't watch him, they didn't spy on him, they waited patiently. It's no coincidence that the person doesn't reveal their identity.

As soon as Diluc found the invitation, he knew what it was all about. The man had been invited by the royal family to an event that could only mean serious things. He hesitated for a while, because it was not by chance that he had concealed his identity. But in the end he appeared at the palace.

The palace was ornate, guests everywhere. Nobles and ordinary citizens alike. Jean smiled as soon as she noticed Diluc. She went there to greet the man, not knowing that the hidden hero everyone was waiting for was her childhood best friend.

"Diluc, what a surprise." the girl greeted him with a smile.

"Ah, Jean. I didn't think you'd be here." said Diluc as they walked further into the ballroom. They had also met with Albedo, another good friend of theirs.
