Though he and Maria split he kept contacts in the mafia, and still works as one of the higher ranks. Their relationship turned bitter over time as Maria cheated on Cisco and he fell sick of her antics. However Maria’s family had power, roping Cisco into the family business while they were still a happily married couple, leaving him tied up in mafia business. Their son whom they raised together favors Cisco over his mother, however she was able to get full custody over him.
