Digivolution: Digivolution (進化[1], Shinka?, lit. "Evolution"[2]) is a term in the Digimon series. It is a process used by Digimon, monsters that inhabit a parallel universe called the Digital World that spawned from Earth's telecommunications network. Through Digivolution, a Digimon can develop into a more powerful being. And the Digivolution concept is that the digimon reside in the Earth's various electronic networks as well as in the Digital World. As they are essentially computer data, they can download additional data to themselves which makes them stronger. If they download enough data, Digivolution is triggered. During Digivolution, the Digimon's appearance changes and, in most instances, becomes significantly stronger than before. The resultant form of the Digimon almost always has a different name than the previous. However, the Digimon's consciousness remains unchanged. If a Digimon does not absorb enough data needed to maintain the form it will not be able to retain that form for long and revert to a lower Level in a matter of time. Digivolution is divided into multiple Levels, made up of an egg form called the Digi-Egg (デジタマ, Digitama?) and six main evolutionary steps. Main Digivolution Stages (English adaptation terms with Japanese terms in brackets): Fresh (幼年期 I, Younenki I?, lit. "Baby I") In-Training (幼年期 II, Younenki II?, lit. "Baby II") Rookie (成長期, Seichouki?, lit. "Child") Champion (成熟期, Seijukuki?, lit. "Adult") Ultimate (完全体, Kanzen-tai?, lit. "Perfect") Mega (究極体, Kyuukyoku-tai?, lit. "Ultimate") If left to its own devices a Digimon will naturally age, and over time may digivolve using data from the environment. Digivolving from the initial Fresh stage usually progresses but each subsequent level takes progressively more time. Because of this, only a sparse number of Digimon naturally reach their final forms. Anger and/or the necessity to survive in a great battle can often spur Digivolution. When Digimon are deleted they either regress completely into Digi-Eggs or break apart into innumerable pieces of errant data that can be easily absorbed or "loaded" by other Digimon. However, when a Digimon forms a bond with a human, they may digivolve more quickly. Using a Digivice, humans can allow a Digimon to almost-instantaneously digivolve to a higher level by sharing their energy. This action takes a large amount of energy and cannot happen if the Digimon is weak, injured or hungry. Digimon who digivolve using a digivice will degenerate, or "de-digivolve" to a lower form after a certain amount of time or if sufficiently injured in a battle. Usually, a partner Digimon's default stage is Rookie; Gatomon from Digimon Adventure being a notable exception as she naturally digivolved before meeting her human partner Kari Kamiya. However, sufficient injury or energy loss can cause a Digimon to revert to an even lower form after naturally digivolving. A few other Digimon not partnered to humans also have the ability to temporarily digivolve to higher levels, then later revert to their base form with Hackmon from Digimon Adventure tri. being a notable example. On top of the regular stages, special forms exist that can usually only obtained through special methods: Special Stages. Armor (アーマー体, Āmā-tai?, lit. "Armor Form"), an ancient form of digivolution which only a handful of Digimon are capable of. To gain this form, the Digimon needs to absorb the energy from one of the special Digi-Eggs (デジメンタル, Digimental?). If a Digimon has multiple Digi-Eggs, its digivolved forms become progressively more powerful. An Armor Digimon's power is similar to that of a Champion's and were often equated as such in various card games, with some outright stating that they were the same. They are also considered equivalent to Ultimates in Digimon World DS, Digimon World Dawn and Dusk, and Digimon Story: Lost Evolution, and Rookie in Digimon Battle., Hybrid (ハイブリッド体, Haiburiddo-tai?, lit. "Hybrid Form") is a special level which is related to the Spirits of the Legendary Warriors; by merging with one or more of the Spirits, someone can turn into a special Digimon of this level., Human Hybrid is a form that transforms a human or digimon into a human-like Digimon, whose power rivals that of a Champion. To attain this, one requires the H Spirit of one of the Ten Legendary Warriors. Human Hybrids were treated as equivalent to Champions in Digital Monster Card Game and became Champions in Digital Monster Card Game α., Beast Hybrid is a form that transforms a human or digimon into a more bestial-looking Digimon whose power rivals that of an Ultimate's. To attain this, one requires the B Spirit of one of the Ten Legendary Warriors. Beast Hybrids were treated as equivalent to Ultimates in Digital Monster Card Game and became Ultimates in Digital Monster Card Game α.,nFusion Hybrid, also known as Fusion Form (融合形態, Yuugou Keitai?), is a powerful form, achieved using both an H-Spirit and B-Spirit. Fusion Hybrids were treated as equivalent to Megas in Digital Monster Card Game and became Megas in Digital Monster Card Game α. Unified Hybrid, also known as Transcend Form (超越形態, Chouetsu Keitai?) uses five H-Spirits and five B-Spirits, combining to give a human or digimon an incredibly advanced and powerful form. Unified Hybrids were treated as equivalent to Megas in Digital Monster Card Game and became Megas in Digital Monster Card Game α. Burst Mode: Shown so far only in Digimon Data Squad and Digimon Masters, though Burst Mode Digimon appear in other media such as cards and games, Burst is "the power that exceeds Mega," though it may just be similar to a mode change where Digimon of a certain level transform to attain greater power such as Imperialdramon Dragon Mode. A Burst Digimon retains a similarity to their original form but has new attacks and a clear increase in power. It is its own special level in Digimon Masters. Ultra (超究極体, Chou-Kyuukyoku-tai?, lit. "Super Ultimate") is a level even higher than Mega. Its existence was a major focus of Digimon Adventure V-Tamer 01. Only a few Digimon are at this level and many times they are just classified as Mega for convenience, though more recent games have slowly started using it. Xros Wars (クロスウォーズ, Kurosu Wōzu?, lit. "Xros Wars"): Levels are not mentioned in Digimon Fusion and its related media, and most of the Digimon created for the series are specified as being at the "Xros Wars" level in the Digimon Reference Book. Some media depict these Digimon as having no level at all. In the anime and some other media a Digimon will usually shout out its type of Digivolution immediately before digivolving and then shout out its new name immediately after. Examples include: "Agumon digivolve to... Greymon (Agumon shinka! Greymon)!" and "Imperialdramon mode change to... Fighter Mode! (Imperialdramon Mode Change! Fighter Mode)!" Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth parodies this: when an Elecmon and Numemon shout out "Elecmon/Numemon digivolve to!" only for nothing to happen, they state they thought just yelling it was how you digivolve. This confuses the rest of the characters. Though Digivolution is named after the theory of evolution it is more similar to metamorphosis, though there is also an element of aging involved as seen in the Japanese stage terms.

Effects of digivolution: When a Digimon reaches the next its level of digivolution its appearance may resemble its previous form or have no relationship at all such as Gatomon, who resembles a cat, digivolving to Angewomon, an Archangel Digimon. Usually, with the case of Digivolution to the Champion level the resultant Digimon is larger than the previous form, but Digivolution to the Ultimate level can often cause the Digimon to refine its strength and decrease its size at the same time,

Digivolution: Digivolution (進化, Shinka?, lit. "Evolution") is one of a Digimon's special abilities. Digivolution is part of a Digimon's natural life cycle with Digimon usually digivolving to stronger forms as a result of age and experience. Not all Digimon may undergo it but it can happen naturally. They may gain armor and/or clothes. In the anime and other media Digimon can only stay in their Digivolution until their energy or data drops to zero. In the dubbed version of Digimon Adventure and its sequel Digivolution is accompanied by a sound reminiscent of a dial-up phone Internet connection, possibly to signify how they download data to become stronger. Digivolution sometimes causes the Digimon to digivolve to a lower level. In some of the Digimon World games, a Digimon can digivolve to Sukamon or PlatinumSukamon regardless of its current level if it poops too many times (e.g., an Ultimate level can digivolve to the Champion level Sukamon, despite being a level higher). In Digimon Tamers: Battle of Adventurers, Apocalymon digivolved to Mephistomon. In Digimon Masters, the Mega version of Shoutmon can digivolve to the Ultimate level OmegaShoutmon despite it being a level lower. In Digimon Tamers it is more difficult to trigger Digivolution in partner Digimon. In this universe, the ultimate source of Digivolution for every Digimon is Calumon, a Digimon created by the Digital World's gods the Digimon Sovereigns to put the power of Digivolution in a space small enough that it couldn't be detected by the malicious computer program D-Reaper. Azulongmon Explains It All A Digimon's Tamer must swipe a card[3] into their D-Power as an activator for Calumon to give them Digivolution energy. To digivolve to the Ultimate level a partner Digimon is sent the energy of a Blue Card via the D-Power as well as being given some of Calumon's energy. In Digimon Data Squad a human partner evokes D.N.A. within themselves. D.N.A. is a manifestation of a human partner's emotions they can send to their Digimon to prompt Digivolution. Some non-partnered Digimon feed off the negative thoughts of people to digivolve in this series. The call is "D.N.A., Charge!". In Digimon Ghost Game Gammamon is a unique case as he is able to digivolve into one of three Champion forms or GulusGammamon. In each series it is possible for a swarm of Fresh or In-Training Digimon to combine into one of a higher level. As this method of evolution produces a Digimon with one consciousness it cannot be considered a type of DNA Digivolution.

Super digivolution: Super Digivolution (超進化, Chou Shinka?, lit. "Super Evolution") is the term for when a Digimon digivolves from its Champion stage to its Ultimate form. However, in the English dub of the first two seasons this process is not given a unique term and was simply called Digivolution. This same term is also used in the Japanese version of Digimon Fusion to describe temporary Digivolution or Digivolution at will, such as Shoutmon's Digivolution to OmniShoutmon and MetalGreymon's Digivolution to ZekeGreymon. The English dub, like the first two seasons, simply refers to this process as Digivolution. The English dubs of Digimon ReArise and Digimon Ghost Game use the term "Super Digivolution". In Digimon Adventure the power of a Crest is required. At first it requires the DigiDestined to display the trait of their Crest (e.g. Taichi "Tai" Kamiya, courage or Sora Takenouchi, love) in order to achieve Ultimate. Afterwards, it is easier to digivolve to Ultimate but the main activation required an enormous display of the trait in question. Incorrectly displaying that trait results in Dark Digivolution. However towards the end of Digimon Adventure 02 the original eight Digimon are able to digivolve into their Ultimate forms using the power of Azulongmon's DigiCore. In the Japanese version of Digimon Tamers, both the Champion-to-Ultimate and Rookie-to-Mega progression are proceeded with the words Matrix Evolution. However, only with the latter is the phrase exclaimed by the human partner. In the English adaptation, only evolution to Ultimate is referred to as Matrix Digivolution; the latter referred to as Biomerging. Champion-to-Ultimate Matrix Digivolution is triggered through the aforementioned examples of Calumon and the Blue Cards. In Digimon Data Squad Perfect Evolution is a method used by the members of DATS to evoke a stronger version of the D.N.A. and evolve their Digimon partner to its Ultimate form. It can be used to digivolve to a Champion stage, or used on a Rookie and have it digivolve straight to Ultimate. The term "Warp Digivolve" is used in the English Dub for the evolution from Rookie to Ultimate. The call is "D.N.A., Full Charge!". There is no prefix used here either. In Digimon ReArise, Filmon digivolves to Stefilmon using Super Digivolution. Super Digivolve to...! Stefilmon! Raid Clash Battle! Demon Lord of Destruction, Diaboromon! Kabuterimon tries to Super Digivolve but is stopped by an Infermon Clash Battle! Infermon though is able to Super Digivolve to MegaKabuterimon due to Filmon buying time for Kabuterimon by fighting the Infermon. Raid Clash Battle! Demon Lord of Desctruction, Diaboromon! In Digimon Adventure:, Greymon, Garurumon, Kabuterimon, Birdramon, Ikkakumon, Togemon, Angemon, SkullKnightmon, and Gatomon use this form of digivolution to digivolve to MetalGreymon, WereGarurumon, MegaKabuterimon, Garudamon, Zudomon, Lillymon, MagnaAngemon, AxeKnightmon and Angewomon. In Digimon Ghost Game, BetelGammamon/KausGammamon/WezenGammamon, TeslaJellymon, and SymbareAngoramon use this form of digivolution to super digivolve to Canoweissmon, Thetismon, and Lamortmon. But following the upgrade to their partners' digivices, the Digimon can warp digivolve from Rookie to Ultimate.

Mega digivolution: Mega Digivolution (究極進化, Kyuukyoku Shinka?, lit. "Ultimate Evolution") is a Digivolution method that allows an Ultimate Digimon to digivolve to Mega. In Digimon Adventure 02, it is initially used by Paildramon to digivolve to Imperialdramon. Like Digimon Tamers, this series has the Digimon Sovereigns, though only Azulongmon appears here. Azulongmon shares the energy of a DigiCore with the Adventure 02 partner Digimon, a ball of powerful energy that catalyzes Digivolution in a similar way to what Calumon does in Tamers. Combining the power of their Digivices with that of Azulongmon, the other Digimon who were at the In-Training level at the time digivolve to Rookies but the Ultimate-level Paildramon, who is fighting a losing battle against Mummymon and a Triceramon at the time is given the ability to mega digivolve to Imperialdramon. Dramon Power By the time of Digimon Adventure tri., it is also used by Zudomon, Lillymon, MegaKabuterimon, Garudamon, MagnaAngemon, MetalGreymon, WereGarurumon and Angewomon so they can reach their Mega forms, Vikemon, Rosemon, HerculesKabuterimon, Hououmon, Seraphimon, WarGreymon, MetalGarurumon and Magnadramon. The dub however, only refers to it as "digivolution". Determination Confession Loss Coexistence Future. In Digimon ReArise, Stefilmon uses Mega Digivolution to digivolve to Rasenmon. A New Quest! The Mysterious Visitor. In Digimon Adventure:, MetalGreymon Alterous Mode, WereGarurumon Sagittarius Mode, MegaKabuterimon, Garudamon, Zudomon, Lillymon, MagnaAngemon, and Angewomon use this form of digivolution to become WarGreymon The Mega Digimon, WarGreymon (or BlitzGreymon) Operation Satellite Sniper, MetalGarurumon Activate, MetalGarurumon (or CresGarurumon) The Gold Wolf of the Crescent Moon, HerculesKabuterimon Bolt, HerculesKabuterimon, Phoenixmon Dance of the Heavens, Phoenixmon, Vikemon Vikemon Ventures the Glaciers, Rosemon The Digimon School Under Attack, Goldramon and Magnadramon The End, the Ultimate Celestial Battle or Seraphimon and Ophanimon. The Angels' Determination. In Digimon Ghost Game, Canoweissmon, Thetismon, and Lamortmon use this form of digivolution to mega digivolve to Siriusmon, Amphimon, and Diarbbitmon

Degeneration: Degeneration (退化, Taika?), or De-Digivolution is the opposite of Digivolution. In this process a Digimon reverts to a lower form; this usually occurs when they lose enough of their data, either through falling in battle or simply consuming a temporary boost of energy. In the anime a Digimon that has used up all the energy from a temporary Digivolution will generally de-digivolve further depending on how high of a form they had been using; Champion to Rookie, Ultimate to In-Training and Mega to Fresh. This first happens in Digimon Adventure when Angemon reverts to Digi-Egg form after using his energy to defeat Devimon. The Legend of the DigiDestined As the Digimon uses the higher form more often they acclimate to it and do not fall so far when it expires. One of the first actual uses of the term "De-Digivolve" in the anime is by Koushiro "Izzy" Izumi. No Questions, Please In Digimon Adventure Apocalymon can forcefully revert a Digimon to the lowest form they are able to maintain (Reverse Digivolution). The Fate of Two Worlds In Digimon Tamers Antylamon was stripped of her abilities and reverted to Lopmon as punishment for protecting Suzie Wong Rabbit Transit but was eventually able to regain her former power. Shadow of the Beast King In Digimon World 3 Persiamon can use a technique (Helter Skelter) which forces its target to de-digivolve into its Rookie form. In Digimon World DS the protagonist can have a Digimon degenerate to increase its total Aptitude (i.e. maximum attainable level), as well as to improve its stats overall when compared to a new Digimon of the same form and follow alternative Digivolution paths. Some Digivolution paths require the increase in Aptitude, as the necessary level is higher than the Digimon's initial Aptitude. During Digimon World Dawn and Dusk, the Mystic Energy forces nearly all of the Digimon citizens of CITY to degenerate to Digi-Eggs when it attacks and steals their data. In the Cyber Sleuth games, the similar Aptitude (shortened to API in Japanese and localized as ABI in English) increases max level, and allows training to increase stats, while dropping the base stat increase from degeneration. Some Digivolutions again require a high ABI. Degeneration at higher levels increases the ABI acquired, and degeneration overall increases ABI more than Digivolution. Time Stranger however replaces this with Talent, which directly determines level as in Digimon World DS, while making degeneration no longer increase Talent and Talent not block Digivolution paths (with the exception of Lucemon), with them instead blocked off by Agent Rank requiring quest completion to raise.

Dark digivolution: Dark Digivolution (暗黒進化, Ankoku Shinka?, lit. "Dark Evolution") is a corrupt form of regular Digivolution, usually resulting in evil Digimon. A Digimon dark digivolves when someone forces it to digivolve forcefully with a clouded mind or dark power. A Digimon digivolved through this method is evil and perceives nothing but its urges to destroy, making it very dangerous. In Digimon Adventure Taichi "Tai" Kamiya pressures his partner Greymon to digivolve to his Ultimate stage resulting in SkullGreymon. The Arrival of Skullgreymon Greymon dark digivolves to SkullGreymon again The Emperor's New Home and then into a virus version of MetalGreymon The Captive Digimon in Digimon Adventure 02 as a result of the Digimon Emperor's Dark Ring, Dark Spiral and his black D-3. In Digimon Adventure 02: Digimon Hurricane Landing!!/Transcendent Evolution!! The Golden Digimentals, Lopmon dark digivolved to Endigomon due to loneliness. In Digimon Tamers Takato Matsuki, enraged by the death of Jeri's partner Leomon orders WarGrowlmon to become Megidramon, a Digimon so viciously powerful it threatens the entire Digital World, unleashing the power of the Digital Hazard symbol on its chest. Lionheart. In Digimon Data Squad Marcus's rage towards Thomas's defection caused ShineGreymon to transform into his Ruin Mode. Kurata's Real Plan. In Digimon Adventure tri., Meicoomon dark digivolves to Meicrackmon Vicious Mode. Confession Loss Coexistence Later, Kari's fear of losing her brother who disappeared alongside Daigo Nishijima after the fissure opened after the battle between Omnimon, Raguelmon, Jesmon and Alphamon caused Nyaromon to warp dark digivolve to Ophanimon Falldown Mode. Coexistence In Digimon Next Barbamon's infusion of dark energy combined with MagnaAngemon's negative thoughts force a Dark Digivolution to Murmukusmon Anti-God Devices Digimon Twin! and when Barbamon's Commandments murders Trailmon, an enraged Yuu causes Gaomon to digivolve to BlackGaogamon The Other Sage!. Shou Kahara's use of the Dark Area and the Dark Digisoul to digivolve Peckmon to Crowmon is also a form of Dark Digivolution. The Girl Norn!. In Digimon Xros Wars Shademon's larva's Digivolution after being fed hearts of despair is also a Dark Digivolution. Xros Miracle!! Reel in a Sliver of Hope!!. In Digimon World: Next Order Kouta Hirose abuses his Growlmon partner Yukimura in an attempt to have him digivolve into a Machinedramon so that he would be strong enough to take on the enemy Machinedramon that had been terrorizing the Digital World. However, Yukimura instead dark digivolves into a SkullGreymon who goes on a rampage until killed by the Hero's partners. Shoma Tsuzuki uses the same process to turn his Omegamon Zwart D Enforcer into Omegamon Alter-B, who is defeated by the Hero shortly afterwards. Unlike Yukimura, Alter-B remains in this form and manages to gain control of himself, then later becomes the official partner of Shoma in this same form. Digimon World: Next Order In Digimon ReArise a Tyrannomon attacks the town and then dark digivolves into SkullGreymon. A Frenzied Menace! Tamers Unite! Some time later a group of Spiral fuse with Stefilmon and force it to dark digivolve to Rasenmon Fury Mode. The Boundary Shaken by Fury GranDracmon is later able to brainwash Herissmon and force it to digivolve to Rasenmon Fury Mode again by using its "Eye of the Gorgon" attack. Newfound Power! Rasenmon and the Ties That Bind In Digimon Adventure:, after Dandevimon devours Tai, MetalGreymon Alterous Mode dark digivolves to Machinedramon due to the infection of the miasma. The Final Stage, Dandevimon In Digimon Survive, Fanglongmon dark evolves to Master due to his partner, Haruchika Minase's desire for revenge against his sister Yukiha Minase for sacrificing him to the Kemonogami. He then has Master absorb him. In the truthful route, Master is defeated which causes Haruchika to be ejected from Master which also causes Master to become Fanglongmon Ruin Mode. Though it was no longer Master, Fanglongmon Ruin Mode was simply a slide evolution and was still a dark evolved form. In the routes other than the truthful route, Shuuji Kayama beats up his Lopmon whilst demanding it evolve so it could kill their enemies. Lopmon dark evolves to Wendigomon then eats Shuuji. In the wrathful route, after seeing Saki Kimishima die, Aoi Shibuya decides she never wants to see anyone ever die again and wants everyone in the world to become friends so no one would ever get hurt again. This causes her to heal Piedmon in a mistaken assumption that he would befriend her as thanks but he instead beats her and her partner Labramon up, leaving them on the verge of death. Aoi's desire to live causes dark energy to fuse her and Labramon together to create Plutomon, with it being stated to be a dark evolution. In Digimon Seekers, Eiji Nagasumi's jealously and anger towards Leon Alexander causes his partner Loogarmon to digivolve to Helloogarmon. Eiji had decided to murder Leon due to these emotions, whilst Loogarmon had only wanted to defeat Leon and his partner Pulsemon. Helloogarmon goes on an uncontrollable rampage, with the Mindlinked Eiji losing access to his controls which meant he could no longer issue commands to his partner. As Helloogarmon rampaged, Eiji realized the error of his ways but was unable to do anything. This eventually lead to Leon overusing his Mindlink time causing him to fall into a DMIA induced coma. Upon coming to its senses and reverting back to Loogamon, it theorizes it had lost control as their feelings weren't in synch. Hacker Leon: WWW Airlines flight 626 Chapter 2-10 Hacker Leon: WWW Airlines flight 626 Chapter 2-11 Hacker Leon: WWW Airlines flight 626 Chapter 2-12 Hacker Leon: WWW Airlines flight 626 Chapter 2-Intermission In Digimon Story: Time Stranger, Aegiomon dark digivolves to Aegiochusmon: Dark after Inori Misono gets sucked into a space-time anomaly. He then goes into the anomaly as well. Where Did the Ribbon Go? Having fully gained control of his time travel powers, he uses them over and over in the hopes he could create a timeline where he could save Inori. Every attempt fails. No Cure for Stupidity He eventually de-digivolves to Aegiomon when confronted by Yuki. No Cure for Stupidity. In Digimon Beatbreak, during the Black Market auction, Raito Souda, wanting to get revenge on Armalizamon, forces Rhamphomon to digivolve despite him saying he wasn't ready to. He takes in dark E-Pulse and digivolves to Azhdarmon, becoming enveloped in a dark aura alongside his eyes turning fully red. Raito tells him to attack Armalizamon, but he ignores his Owner and tries to kill Yume Ikuhara instead. Tinkermon takes the blow for its owner, and dies. He is eventually defeated by Armalizamon and Murasamemon and reverts to Monodramon. Black Market Auction Rhamphomon willingly digivolves to Azhdarmon during his colosseum battle with Armalizamon, though quickly becomes enveloped by the dark aura again when Raito becomes angry. He snaps out of it when his attack nearly hits Raito, and says he will fight to prove Raito is a genius — but is defeated again. Proof of Genius

Armor digivolution: Armor Digivolution (アーマー進化, Āmā Shinka?, lit. "Armor Evolution") is the fusion of a Digimon with a Digi-Egg (デジメンタル, Digimentaru?, "Digimental"). It is featured in Digimon Adventure 02, the card game, manga, drama CDs, and video games. It is an ancient form of Digivolution that was developed when the Digital World was young and it was almost impossible to digivolve even to the Champion level without assistance.Digi-Eggs aren’t necessarily a requirement for Armor Digivolution, and the powers afforded by Armor Digivolution can vary quite a bit, so some are assigned a level based on their power to make things simpler. There is an affinity between a Digimon and a Digi-Egg, so using an incompatible Digi-Egg can cause the Digi-Egg's power to run amok. With a good affinity however, an Armor Digimon can see its power become equivalent to that of a Mega Digimon. Each Digi-Egg contains an elemental power and and were left behind by various Digimon after their demise. It is used in Digimon Adventure 02, when the Digimon Emperor's D-3 and the presence of Control Spires prevent Digimon from digivolving to the Champion level. A DigiDestined activates Armor Digivolution by shouting, "Digi-Armor Energize!" or "Digimental Up!". In the English dub, a golden Digi-Egg is activated by shouting "Golden Armor Energize!".

DNA digivolution: DNA Digivolution is a method of Digivolution in the English dub, first used in Our War Game!. It combines the similar processes known in the original Japanese as Jogres Evolution (ジョグレス進化, Joguresu Shinka?), a portmanteau of the words "Joint" and Progress" that is also romanized as Jogress,[6] and Fusion Evolution (合体進化, Gattai Shinka?). In Digimon Survive, Fusion is instead uses Fusion (融合, Yūgō?). Following the level retcons in the Digimon Reference Book that gave Xros Wars Digimon levels, the ability for the Fusion to be at a lower level than one of its components occurred. For example, Shoutmon X4B (a fusion of Shoutmon X4 and Beelzemon (2010 anime)) is an Ultimate level Digimon despite Beelzemon being a Mega level. In Digimon Adventure: Our War Game!, WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon DNA digivolve into Omnimon to fight Diaboromon. This is later identified as a DNA digivolution by Koushiro "Izzy" Izumi after the first formation of Paildramon. Fusion Confusion In Digimon Adventure 02, the two original Digimon consciousnesses join into one, and the combined Digimon can speak with both voices—often simultaneously. Gatomon's tail ring, in the possession of Gennai, gives the partner Digimon the power to DNA digivolve. A Million Points of Light In the Digimon Xros Wars manga, DNA Digivolution allows a dying Starmon to survive when he is unable to gather enough energy for normal Digivolution. Xros Stars!! Like a Shooting Star!! In the English dub of Revenge of Diaboromon, Warp DNA Digivolution allows two Rookie-level Digimon to skip Digivolution to the required stage for combining and go straight to the DNA digivolved form. Agumon and Gabumon are the only ones to have used this, becoming Omnimon without warp-digivolving to WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon. In Digimon Adventure:, Greymon and Garurumon DNA digivolve into Omnimon in order to stop the Mega Argomon from destroying Tokyo. War Game And to the Digital World However, Agumon at least is left with no memory of his time as Omnimon after dedigivolving. The Celestial Digimon They later DNA digivolve into Omnimon once again to stop Nidhoggmon. Countdown to Tokyo's Annihilation Tai Kamiya subsequently learns from Valkyrimon that during an ancient war, the prayers for salvation of the fallen Digimon and the power of Seraphimon and Ophanimon had allowed WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon to fuse into Omnimon in order to destroy ZeedMillenniummon. The Crest of Courage During the final battle with Abbadomon, the entire human world sends their hope into the Network which is then channeled by Rosemon, Vikemon, Phoenixmon and HerculesKabuterimon to Seraphimon and Ophanimon who use the power to DNA digivolve WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon into Omnimon once again. The Last Miracle, The Last Power In Digimon Adventure:, the Vademon resurrect Millenniummon by DNA digivolving Moon=Millenniummon and Kimeramon. The God of Evil Descends, Millenniummon This is accomplished by using the digivolution method that was developed by Devimon. The Angels' Determination DNA Digivolution is handled differently in some video games. In Digimon World 2, Digimon Adventure 02: Tag Tamers, Digimon Adventure 02: D-1 Tamers, and Digimon World Dawn and Dusk, DNA digivolving two Digimon together will permanently fuse them into one new Digimon with increased stats, sometimes forming a new one but other times not. Depending on the game, the resulting Digimon can be either a higher or lower level than its components. Digimon Tamers: Brave Tamer features Calumon cards which provide the DNA Digivolution function during battle to two Digimon who are equipped with them. The combined Digimon will be the next Digivolution stage of the Digimon who has the lower digivolutionary level or, if the digivolutionary levels are the same, the one who initiates the DNA Digivolution. Digimon World 3 instead provides the capability for two Digimon of specific species, one active and one on the bench, to merge into a single Digimon and perform an attack. It then acts as a tagging maneuver, allowing the benched Digimon to take the place of the active one. Some Digimon are also only available through DNA Digivolution. DNA Digivolution (Jogres Evolution) This form of DNA Digivolution allows two or more Digimon to combine into a single Digimon of a higher level. DNA Digivolution (Fusion Evolution) This type of DNA Digivolution is often synonymous with the Jogres Evolution type but sometimes treated as a separate phenomenon. "Fusion" is used to refer to Digivolutions in which, unlike Jogress Evolution, the resulting Digimon remains the same Level as its components. This generally only applies to Digimon formed from the combination of Mega Digimon in continuities that lack the Ultra level though after the Reference Book update that gave Xros Wars Digimon levels it can now refer to Digimon such as SkullKnightmon Cavalier Mode, a Champion that is a result of two Champions fusing. This is not to be confused with the term "Fusion Evolution" used in the English dub of Digimon Frontier. Extra Cross Evolution, also shortened to EXE, is a form of digivolution exclusive to Digimon World: Next Order. It is similar DNA Digivolution, however it is given a different name as DNA Digivolution in Next Order is permanent, whilst EXE is temporary and only available during Battle. DNA is specific to only certain Digimon, EXE however, can be achieved by every single Mega level Digimon. Every Mega can perform EXE with every other Mega and Ultimate level Digimon, leading to thousands of combinations. The resulting Digimon will be one of the Yellow Mega level Digimon. Both of the Hero's partner Digimon's stats will be combined, though this cannot cause stats to go above the maximum. EXE can be performed manually, although, there is a small chance of an EXE evolution after they are defeated in battle, which will cause them to be fully healed when the EXE is complete. Blast DNA Digivolution (ブラストジョグレス, Burasuto Joguresu?) is a combination of Blast Digivolution and DNA Digivolution introduced in the Digimon Card Game in EX-06. Just like regular DNA Digivolution (specifically, the Jogress version) it allows two Digimon to combine into a single Digimon of a higher level. In the Digimon Card Game, just like regular Blast Digivolution, Ace Digimon that can have Blast DNA Digivolve have Blast DNA Digivolution as an ability. When a player attacks another player — provided the requirements are met — the attacked player can counter and Blast DNA Digivolve with an Ace Digimon in their hand for free. If the Digimon leaves the field for any reason, the player loses memory — the amount lost varying by Digimon. Unlike with regular Blast Digivolution, in which the digivolving Digimon must already be on the field, Blast DNA Digivolution has the two Digimon being combined together in the player's hand — as such all three Digimon must be in their hand for it to work.

Warp digivolution: Warp Digivolution (ワープ進化, Wāpu Shinka?, lit. "Warp Evolution") is a digivolution process where a Digimon can reach a higher level directly bypassing any intermediate phases. Notable Digimon who have used this, although only implicitly in some cases, are Agumon, Gabumon, Leomon, Angemon, Keramon, Lopmon, and Impmon. In few cases, particularly Agumon, Gabumon, and Angemon, they do not actually bypass any intermediate phases—they simply go through it very quickly. This is shown by Agumon and Gabumon who usually have their Champion and Ultimate forms appear during their respective Warp Digivolutions, and MagnaAngemon appears briefly when Angemon warp digivolves to Seraphimon. In Digimon Adventure tri., warp digivolutions skip the intermediate phases. In Digimon Tamers Impmon gains the ability to warp digivolve to Beelzemon Motorcycle Madness, though it is never actually called Warp Digivolution in the series. In Digimon Data Squad, "warp digivolve" refers to digivolving directly from Rookie to Ultimate. The term Double Warp Digivolution is used when a Digimon evolves straight from Rookie to Mega, much like Warp Digivolution from the first two seasons with one subtle difference: during previous seasons' Warp Digivolution, as well as this season's use for Rookie to Ultimate, the intermediate phases of the Digimon are shown, but during Double Warp Digivolution all intermediate phases are skipped and not shown at all. The call is "D.N.A., Charge! Overdrive!". In the original Japanese, it is called Ultimate Evolution and during evolution, the Digimon simply uses the term shinka without any prefix. In Digimon Ghost Game, "warp digivolve" is a feature in the Vital Bracelet BE Digivice-VV- that allows a Digimon to digivolve directly from Rookie to Ultimate. In Digimon ReArise and Digimon Survive, warp digivolution skips the intermediate stages. In Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, the intermediate stages are skipped when Hackmon warp digivolves to Jesmon. In Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker's Memory however, which is in the same setting as Cyber Sleuth, Turuiemon is briefly shown when Lopmon warp digivolves to Antylamon.

Mode change: A Mode Change (モード・チェンジ, Mōdo Chenji?) is a form of Digivolution in which a Digimon rewrites data within its own DigiCore to awaken a different power while remaining the same species and level, often changing shape or color.[9] Many such cases include "Mode" in their names, but not all, and not all Digimon with "Mode" in their names meet this definition. Mode Changes are distinct from Slide Evolution, in which the Digimon's DigiCore is rewritten completely to transform them to a different species. In Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth and Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker's Memory Mode Changes differ from standard Digivolutions in that they allow the Digimon to freely shift between Mode Change forms. Digimon known to Mode Change are: UlforceVeedramon to Future Mode, Daemon to Beast Mode, Apocalymon to Creepy Mode, Imperialdramon Dragon Mode to Fighter Mode and Paladin Mode,nBlackImperialdramon Dragon Mode to Fighter Mode, Gallantmon to Crimson Mode, ChaosGallantmon to Chaos Mode, Beelzemon to Blast Mode, Justimon to Accel, Blitz, and Critical Arms, MagnaGarurumon to MagnaGarurumon (SV), ShineGreymon to Ruin Mode, ShineGreymon, MirageGaogamon, Rosemon, Ravemon, BanchoLeomon, and, Agumon (2006 anime) to Burst Mode, Belphemon Sleep Mode to Rage Mode, Leopardmon to Leopard Mode, MadLeomon to Armed Mode, Orochi Mode, and Final Mode SkullKnightmon to Arrow Mode, Cavalier Mode, Naginata Mode, and Mighty Axe Mode, Dorbickmon, NeoMyotismon, Splashmon, Gravimon, and Apollomon to Darkness Mode Shoutmon X7 to Superior Mode GrandisKuwagamon to Honeybee Mode Deckerdramon to Float Mode Sethmon to Wild Mode Knightmon to Wise Sword Mode Chronomon Destroy Mode to Holy Mode Ophanimon to Falldown ModenCerberusmon to Werewolf Mode Jupitermon to Wrath Mode Junomon to Hysteric Mode Omnimon to Merciful ModenMetalGreymon to Alterous Mode WereGarurumon to Sagittarius Mode Omnimon to Omegamon Alter-S

Slide evolution: Slide Evolution (スライド・エボリューション, Suraido Eboryūshon?) is a form of Digivolution in which a Digimon rewrites its DigiCore entirely while remaining the same level, changing to a completely different species. As such, it can be seen as a more astonishing alternative to Mode Changes. Slide Evolution is most prevalent in Digimon Frontier, where Hybrid Digimon use it to switch back and forth between Human and Beast forms, such as Grumblemon to Gigasmon Can't Keep a Grumblemon Down, or for other Digimon to switch between its pure and evil forms, such as Monzaemon to WaruMonzaemon. Island of Misfit Boys In "Island of Lost Digimon", the Champion-level Darcmon is presented as using Slide Evolution to transform into the Ultimate-level Hippogriffomon. However, both forms are merely disguises for Murmukusmon, so it is unclear whether this is intended to be a true Digivolution. Digimon known to Slide Evolve are: Agunimon and BurningGreymon, Lobomon and KendoGarurumon,Kazemon and Zephyrmon, Beetlemon and MetalKabuterimon,nKumamon and Korikakumon, Loweemon and JagerLoweemon, Mercurymon and Sakkakumon, Duskmon and Velgemon, Ranamon and Calmaramon, Arbormon and Petaldramon, Grumblemon and Gigasmon, Monzaemon and WaruMonzaemon

Warp DNA digivolution: Warp DNA Digivolution is a simultaneous performance of Warp Digivolution and DNA Digivolution, allowing two Digimon to go straight from lower levels to a higher level that is normally a result of DNA Digivolution.

Biomerge digivolution: Biomerge Digivolution, or simply just Biomerge (マトリックス・エボリューション, Matorikkusu Eboryūshon?, lit. "Matrix Evolution") is possibly used only in Digimon Tamers. It is a form of Warp Digivolution similar to DNA Digivolution and Digifuse, in that a partner Digimon merges with its human Tamer to digivolve directly to the Mega level. Like DNA Digivolution and Digifuse, the Digivolution is unlocked as a result of the components, in this case the Digimon and their Tamer, being united in a single overriding goal, and yet the original consciousnesses still exist independently within the resultant Digimon on a spiritual level. In a Biomerge, this is represented as the human Tamer lying naked within his or her partner, surrounded by a bubble of light named the Tamer Ball (テイマー・ボール, Teimā Bōru?),[11][12] Unlike DNA Digivolution and Digifuse, Biomerge Digivolution can normally only be performed in the Digital World, where both the human and Digimon components are composed of data, but in Digimon Tamers this is rectified when Dobermon delivers power from the Digimon Sovereigns to be used as an interface. The Messenger Within the fiction, the four Digimon shown to have biomerged are indicated to be quite powerful, even for their Mega level. A Tamer activates Biomerging by commanding, "Biomerge Activate!" in the English dub. In the Japanese version, the term and command Matrix Evolution was used both for evolution to Ultimate and Biomerging. Tamers and Digimon known to use Biomerging in the anime are: Takato Matsuki and Guilmon to Gallantmon, Henry Wong and Terriermon to MegaGargomon, Rika Nonaka and Renamon to Sakuyamon, Ryo Akiyama and Cyberdramon to Justimon,

Shining evolution: Shining Digivolution is Calumon's attack. In Digimon Tamers, when Calumon releases all of his Digivolution energy, he causes every Digimon in the Digital World to digivolve to Mega. Janyu's Ark It is called the "Light of Digivolution" in Digimon World DS.

Pseudo-Evolution: Pseudo-Evolution (擬似進化, Giji Shinka?) is what Akihiro Kurata terms the process he uses to digivolve Gizumon into Gizumon-AT and then Gizumon-XT, with the use of an artificial D.N.A. There is no official term for the process in the English version. Bio-Hybrid Digivolution Bio-Hybrid Digivolution is a method of Digivolution in the English dub of Digimon Data Squad. It combines the similar processes known in the original Japanese as Hyper Bio Evolution (ハイパー・バイオ・エボリューション, Haipā Baio Eboryūshon?) and Hyper Bio Extra Evolution (ハイパー・バイオ・エクストラ・エボリューション, Haipā Baio Ekusutora Eboryūshon?). Bio-Hybrid Digivolution (Hyper Bio Evolution) Bio-Hybrid Digivolution (ハイパー・バイオ・エボリューション, Haipā Baio Eboryūshon?, lit. "Hyper Bio Evolution") enables Kouki Tsubasa, Nanami, and Ivan to become their first Digimon forms, based on three Armor Digimon. However, the resulting forms are far more powerful than regular Armor types. This type of digivolution is made possible by injecting the scattered data of Digimon collected by Gizumon into a human body, so that the data can merge with the human's D.N.A. . When the D.N.A. is released, the human's body transforms into that of the Digimon, granting them access to their new form's abilities. When the Bio evolution is deleted, the Digimon data reverts back into a Digi-Egg and leaves the human body, and the human cannot evolve into a Digimon again unless re-injected.[citation needed] The call is "Bio Hybrid D.N.A. Charge". The Bio-Hybrids' first forms are: Kouki Tsubasa to BioThunderbirdmon, Nanami to BioQuetzalmon Ivan to BioStegomon, Bio-Hybrid Digivolution (Hyper Bio Extra Evolution)nBio-Hybrid Digivolution (ハイパー・バイオ・エクストラ・エボリューション, Haipā Baio Ekusutora Eboryūshon?, lit. "Hyper Bio Extra Evolution") is caused by Akihiro Kurata re-injecting more powerful digimon data into Kouki Tsubasa, Ivan, and Nanami using data gathered from Gizumon-AT and Gizumon-XT. This power is very dangerous because if the human body cannot contain the digimon data, they also are killed. However, these three overcome this situation and receive the power of Mega level Digimon. The call in English is either "Bio Hybrid D.N.A. Full Charge" or "Bio Hybrid D.N.A. Charge".nThe Bio-Hybrids' second forms are:nNanami to BioRotosmon,nIvan to BioSupinomon, Kouki Tsubasa to BioDarkdramon,

Burst evolution: Burst Evolution (バースト・エボリューション, Bāsuto Eboryūshon?), also known as Burst Digivolution, is used in Digimon Data Squad and in Digimon Next. In Data Squad, it is a Mode Change, it enables a Mega Digimon to reach its Burst Mode; an even more-powerful form. The call is "Charge! D.N.A. Burst Mode!" in English, and "Charge! Digisoul Burst!" in Japanese. ShineGreymon, MirageGaogamon, Rosemon, Ravemon, BanchoLeomon, and Agumon all manage to get to Burst Mode. In Next, it is simply a way to digivolve to Mega in the absence of a Digivice; however, it quickly consumes the tamer's life-force, and is dangerous to use. It is invoked by calling out "Burst Charge!". Sho Kahara uses it to digivolve Peckmon to Ravemon Death Struggle: Three Commanders!, while Yu Inui attempts the same to get out of a bad situation so that Tsurugi Tatsuno can continue on. Anti-God Devices Digimon Twin!

X-digivolution: X-Digivolution (X-進化ゼヴォリューション, X-ShinkaZevoryūshon?, lit. "X-Evolution") is a unique type of Digivolution that occurs when a Digimon merges the X Antibody into its DigiCore.

Death-X evolution: Death-X Evolution (死のX-進化デクスリューション, Shi no X ShinkaDekusuryūshon?) is a form of X Evolution activated when a Digimon dies. Dorugamon, DoruGreymon, and Dorugoramon can each perform Death-X Evolution to become DexDorugamon, DexDoruGreymon, and DexDorugoramon.[citation needed] In Digimon Chronicle X, GranDracmon defeats Digimon in the old Digital World, forces them to undergo Death-X Evolution, and then sends them to the Dark Area. Digimon Chronicle In Digimon Seekers, Tomonori Ryusenji, having access to the Source Domain, uses it to put large amounts of data into Dorugoramon's DigiCore via its interface, with everyone realizing that if it continued — Dorugoramon would die as its body would be unable to handle that much data. Dorugoramon, in a bid not to die, Death-X evolves and becomes DexDorugoramon. Sons of Chaos: Seekers Chapter 4-10 Sons of Chaos: Seekers Chapter 4-11 Eiji Nagasumi, whilst seeing his Fenriloogamon battling DexDorugoramon, realizes that DexDorugoramon wasn't alive — Dorugoramon had died and was now a zombie as DexDorugoramon. Sons of Chaos: Seekers Chapter 4-12

Blast digivolution: Blast Digivolution (ブラスト進化, Burasuto Shinka?, lit. "Blast Evolution") appears in Digimon World 3, Pendulum X 3.0, D-Cyber Ultimate, and the Digimon Card Game. The Card Game also introduced Blast DNA Digivolution. In Digimon World 3, When a Digimon fills its Blast Gauge by taking damage from the enemy or using certain item (DV Plug), the Digimon will digivolve into a new Digimon based on its current level for several turns. That Digimon will be fully healed and have access to its personal finisher. Furthermore, any technique used during that state costs no MP. During that state, the Digimon cannot use DNA DV. In Pendulum X 3.0 and D-Cyber Ultimate, Blast Digivolution has Digimon temporarily digivolve into a higher form for one attack. Orange will have them digivolve one level higher, whilst green will digivolve them two levels higher. Megas digivolve into more powerful Megas. There are multiple Digimon only available via Blast Digivolution. In the Digimon Card Game, Ace Digimon have Blast Digivolution as an ability. When a player attacks another player — provided the requirements are met — the attacked player can counter and Blast Digivolve with an Ace Digimon in their hand for free. If the Digimon leaves the field for any reason, the player loses memory — the amount lost varying by Digimon. It also introduced Blast DNA Digivolution. The concept of Sudden Evolution (突発進化, Toppatsu Shinka?) in Digimon World DS is similar. By using the "Digivolution Disk" item, a Digimon can attain a Mega Digimon form related to its family, which will then perform a single attack before reverting.

Spirit evolution: Spirit Evolution (スピリット・エボリューション, Supiritto Eboryūshon?) categorizes the use of a Spirit to digivolve. Spirit Evolution results in a Human Hybrid, a humanoid Digimon, or a Beast Hybrid, a beastly Digimon. In Digimon Frontier, The DigiDestined must release a ring of their own Fractal Code, hold the Digivice and scan it. The Japanese version of Frontier refers to both types of evolution as Spirit Evolution, while in the English version, the call is "Execute! Spirit Evolution!" for Human Spirits and "Execute! Beast Spirit Evolution!" for Beast Spirits. The evolution is represented by the child's clothes disintegrating, then being replaced by the armor pieces of the Spirit. The Beast evolution is very similar, with the child being shrouded in their respective element while combining with the armor, and their Fractal Code taking the shape of a sphere. The children are depicted roaring throughout this process.

Fusion evolution: Fusion Evolution (ダブル・スピリット・エボリューション, Daburu Supiritto Eboryūshon?, "Double Spirit Evolution") is the merging of a Human and Beast spirit of the same element to a "Fusion Form" (融合形態, Yuugou Keitai?), a Digimon that has twice the power than what a single Human or Beast spirit can carry. Only two of the DigiDestined, Takuya Kanbara and Koji Minamoto, use Fusion Evolution in Frontier. The appearance of a Fusion Hybrid Digimon can vary, but in the case of Takuya to Aldamon and Koji to BeoWolfmon, they are literally a mixture of features of their respective Human and Beast counterparts. In the English dub, Takuya's call is "Execute, Now! Fusion Evolution!" and Koji's is just "Execute! Fusion Evolution!". This evolution is represented identically to Beast Spirit Evolutions. This is not to be confused with the Fusion Evolution similar to DNA Digivolution.

unified spirit evolution: Unified Spirit Evolution (ハイパー・スピリット・エボリューション, Haipā Supiritto Eboryūshon?, lit. "Hyper Spirit Evolution") is a form of digivolution. In Digimon Frontier, Unified Spirit Evolution is where in the person evolving uses ten of the twenty Spirits to evolve to a "Transcendent Form" (超越形態, Chouetsu Keitai?). Takuya Kanbara and Koji Minamoto are the only children to evolve in this way. Takuya uses the Spirits of Flame, Wind, Ice, Earth, and Wood to become EmperorGreymon, and Koji takes the Spirits of Light, Thunder, Darkness, Water, and Steel to digivolve into MagnaGarurumon. The Spirits of the other children are returned to them when EmperorGreymon and MagnaGarurumon revert to Takuya and Koji. In the English dub, their call is "Unity Execute! Unified Spirit Evolution!". This evolution is represented similarly to Beast Spirit Evolutions, but instead of showing the armor pieces of the Spirit combining with the child, the Spirits are instead shown directly fusing with the child while transforming into the child's respective element, and their Fractal Code takes the shape of a sphere orbited by a ring.

Ancient spirit evolution: Ancient Spirit Evolution (エンシェント・スピリット・エボリューション, Enshento Supiritto Eboryūshon?) is the most powerful evolution in Digimon Frontier. All of the Legendary Warrior spirits combine at once to form Susanoomon, the most powerful Digimon obtained through a spirit. Susanoomon appears twice in Frontier; first Takuya Kanbara and Koji Minamoto evolve into him Lucemon on the Loose and then in the final battle of the series all the DigiDestined, except Koichi Kimura, combine to form him. End of the Line In the English dub, The first call is "Ancient Spirits Unite!", while the second one is "Execute! Ancient Spirit Evolution!". The two times this evolution is depicted in Digimon Frontier, it is animated differently. The first time, Takuya and Koji's clothes rip from pure power as they are surrounded by their half of the Spirits. They then merge together into the center point between them as the Spirits circle them, forming Susanoomon. The second time, all five of the component DigiDestined perform form fractal code rings similar to their Human Spirit Evolution before pointing their Digivices into the center point of the them, from which Susanoomon emerges. Similar to Biomerge Digivolution, the DigiDestined's consciousnesses are depicted within Susanoomon as naked forms without visible genitalia (the glow covered their bodies a little more in the English dub).

DigiFuse: DigiFuse (デジクロス, DejiKurosu?, lit. "DigiXros"[13]) is a form of Digivolution that is central to the plot of Digimon Fusion, Digimon Xros Wars (manga), Digimon Story: Super Xros Wars Blue and Red, Digimon All-Star Rumble and other media. It is similar to DNA Digivolution in that it involves multiple Digimon, here known as "DigiXros Units" combining into stronger forms, but also involves attributes of Mode Changing, allowing the Units to rearrange their data and become body-parts or weapons for the new form. The gestalt entity is usually controlled by the Unit with the most powerful soul, but especially for Dark DigiFuses, the lead Unit can change if one member's soul overpowers the others. DigiFuse can be achieved using a Fusion Loader held by its chosen General Mikey Goes To Another World! or Hunter Students have Vanished! The Flickering Shadow of Sagomon and most powerful DigiFuses require the "core" Unit to have the mental fortitude to support the unity of the gestalt. Showdown in Shaky Town! So far, the largest DigiFuses involve seven Units with certain groups such as the Starmons or PawnChessmons, being treated as one Unit. The Darkness Loader, on the other hand allows the Forced DigiFuse (強制デジクロス, Kyōsei DejiKurosu?, lit. "Forced DigiXros") The Power Drain: The Hunters of Honey Land, also known as the Dark DigiFuse Disaster in the Dust Zone! where the participants aren't necessarily willing. There are higher "forms" of DigiFuse, although the distinctions seems to be more in name than in effect. Double Fusion (ダブルクロス, Daburu Kurosu?, lit. "Double Xros") is a type of DigiFuse performed between two Generals. Hang on, Greymon! The Rise of Shoutmon DX The Double Fusion can be further empowered through a Grand Xros (グランドクロス, Gurando Kurosu?), although this only involves adding more of the current Generals' Digimon. Xros Alliance!! The Final Odaiba Showdown!! When Christopher manages to break free from Gravimon's manipulations by opens his heart with the help of Mikey and the spirit of his deceased father, they become able to perform the Great Fusion (グレートクロス, Gurēto Kurosu?, lit. "Great Xros"), which involves three or more Generals operating in harmony. Great Fusion! The Power of Friendship With a multitude of Generals, it is possible to form an Evolution Xros (エヴォリューションクロス, Evoryūshon Kurosu?) of multiple Warp Digivolved Digimon. Xros Stars!! Like a Shooting Star!! However, the ultimate form of DigiFuse is the Final Fusion (ファイナルクロス, Fainaru Kurosu?, lit. "Final Xros"), which is enabled with the help of the Code Crown; it allows Mikey to combine Shoutmon with all of his allies and nearly every Digimon in the Digital World. Final Fusion - The Fight For Earth! Within the DigiQuartz, a Fusion Loader can only digifuse two of a Hunter's Digimon together. This particular modality is called Xros Up (クロスアップ, Kurosu Appu?). Workarounds exist when Hunters cooperate with each other, as two can use Double Fusion to combine up to four Digimon A Targeted Taiki! The Super-Celebrity's Warcry! while four can fuse seven, presumably up to eight, with Great Fusion. Now Revealed! The Secret of the Digimon Hunt! Items can be used in a DigiFuse, as seen when Tagiru Akashi digifuses Arresterdramon Superior Mode with the remains of the Brave Snatcher to form XrosUpArresterdramon Superior Mode. Burn up Tagiru! A Glorious Digimon Hunt! Generals can disengage a DigiFuse through Disengage Fuse (クロスオープン, Kurosu Ōpun?, lit. "Xros Open") Rumble in the Jungle Zone! also known as a Digi-Defuse Back to the Digital World! Hot Time in Dragonland! and a Forced DigiFuse through Forced Xros Open (強制クロスオープン, Kyōsei Kurosu Ōpun?). Xros Miracle!! Reel in a Sliver of Hope!! In Digimon Story: Super Xros Wars Blue and Red there are also two extra different types of DigiFuse: DigiFusion (デジフュージョン, Dejifuyūjon?), which is akin to DNA Digivolution in previous titles where the components permanently fuse into the result, and Jogress Up (ジョグレスアップ, Joguresu Appu?).

Digivice summary: The Digivice (デジヴァイス, Dejivaisu?), short for "Digital Device", is a device from the Digimon series based on the first Digimon product, the Digimon Virtual Pet, and it indicates that the possessor is a DigiDestined. It appears in every season of the anime, as well as the V-Tamer 01, Chronicle, D-Cyber, and Next manga, and several of the video games. Its primary use is to empower the DigiDestined's partner Digimon through Digivolution, though each version of the Digivice is also equipped with many other helpful features, such as radar or data storage. Even when Digivices are the same type, they are usually differentiated by a color scheme unique to the character who uses them.

Digivice 01: The Digivice 01 (デジヴァイス01, Dejivaisu Zero Wan?) is used by the Tamers of Digimon Adventure V-Tamer 01. Tai Kamiya got his from Lord Whamon as a parting gift, while the rest where shown to have theirs when they appeared. It has all the functions of the original V-Pet and a built in analyzer. Using it allows the user to transmit data to their Digimon, from various medicinal herbs and food to even nonverbal commands. It comes in a few different colors. By "hitting" two Digivice 01 together, the user can cause a DNA Digivolution. To cancel this evolution the Digivices must be crossed. This ability is often taken advantage of in order to make use of "Infinite DNA Digivolution", where the DNA digivolved Digimon separates again into its fusees and then merges once more, thereby reacquiring perfect health. Neo is most often guilty of this, and Hideto tried to have his WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon merge again into Omegamon to again acquire perfect health. In addition, a DNA digivolved Digimon can again merge with another of its level into Mega, called "Triple Jogress".

Digimon adventure digivice: This Digivice is the basic design used by the many DigiDestined in Digimon Adventure and Digimon Get Back. In Digimon Adventure, these Digivices were created by the Agents, primarily to allow the children to digivolve their Partners. Like many artifacts in the Digital World, the Digivices bear the DigiCode for "Digital Monster" (デジタルモンスター, Dejitaru Monsutā?), specifically on the border of their screens. This design is named Taichi Digivice (タイチデジヴァイス, Taichi Dejivaisu?) in Digimon World Re:Digitize, and is a swim ring accessory. The primary function of the Digivice is to channel the emotional energy of a DigiDestined child to their Digimon partner, who can use it as fuel to digivolve. This energy is monitored by a gauge on the Digivice, DigiBaby Boom, and on its own, it only permits digivolution to the Champion level. However, the energy from the partner bond can be supplemented with power from Crests, DigiCores, or other sources to digivolve further. When digivolving past Champion level, the Digivice vibrates and changes to the child's designated color, and in the case of Meiko Mochizuki and Maki Himekawa, will show their associated sigil on its screen. Tai and Matt's Digivices gain a third color scheme when Omnimon fuses with the others to become Merciful Mode. Future If the Partner Digimon finds a way to digivolve without connecting to their DigiDestined, the Digivice will not be connected to that Digivolution, but this alone will not sever the partner bond. Normally, only the designated owner of the Digivice can use it to digivolve their Digimon, although a borrowed Digivice can still be used for its other functions. Digimon Adventure: Anode Tamer and Cathode Tamer However, Meiko Mochizuki's Digivice was used to trigger Omnimon's fusion to Merciful Mode, despite her not being Partnered with any of the component Digimon.[please confirm] Alternatively, the "divine light" of digivolution mediated by the Digivice can be redirected offensively, projecting as a beam of light that can purify or restrain evil Digimon, The Legend of the DigiDestined or help tame an enemy Digimon. Digimon Adventure: Anode Tamer and Cathode Tamer As a physical manifestation of the bond between a DigiDestined and their Partner, the Digivice can be used to access that bond, which Izzy once uses to access Ordinemon's data. Future They also display the countdown timer to the termination of the partner bond; once the deadline is reached, the Digivice will turn to stone and the Digimon partner will vanish. Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna On a more practical level, the Digivices also built-in clocks Out on the Town, and are able to track the signal emitted by other Digivices Almost Home Free, They can be upgraded into D-3's A New Digitude Genesis of Evil, or synced with the Smartphone Digivice invented by Izzy. Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna While looking for Willis, who wielded this standard Digivice design, Endigomon kidnaps many of the DigiDestined with matching devices, including the original six DigiDestined. Digimon Adventure 02: Digimon Hurricane Landing!!/Transcendent Evolution!! The Golden Digimentals |} In Digimon Get Back, the Digivice is capable of producing a DigiKey when its owner has fulfilled the required condition. Taro Osanai's Digivice produces the DigiKey of Courage after he finally accepts the role of a DigiDestined. It is capable of creating backups of its owner's memories. When the timeline is changed following SkullSatamon's defeat, Taro's memories are backed up and restored to his body after he reaches the same age.

D-3 digivice: The D-3 (D-3, Dī-Surī?) are the Digivices of the new DigiDestined introduced in Digimon Adventure 02. They were created by Azulongmon and the Harmonious Ones along with the Digi-Eggs to counter the power of the Digimon Emperor's Dark D-3, which he had obtained by dipping his Digivice into the Dark Ocean. Soon after the three new DigiDestined children acquired their D-3s, released from the Digi-Egg of Courage, Takeru "T.K." Takaishi's and Kari Kamiya's original Digivices were upgraded into D-3 forms after obtaining their Digi-Eggs. A New Digitude D-3s have a white center with differently-colored grips for each DigiDestined, as follows:However, the D-3s morph into different colors during DNA Digivolution, much like how the original Digivice does when the using the Crest. The center is the color of the first Digimon which appears on the screen and the grip being the color of the second Digimon; these colors are also the dominant colors of the resulting Digimon. The color pairings are as follows: Davis Motomiya & Ken Ichijouji: Dark Blue/Dark Green with Pink buttons, Yolei Inoue & Kari Kamiya: Crimson/White with Yellow Buttons, Yolei Inoue & Kari Kamiya: Crimson/White with Yellow Buttons, Cody Hida & T.K. Takaishi: Yellow/White with Pink Buttons, Cody Hida & T.K. Takaishi: Yellow/White with Pink Buttons, Kari Kamiya: Pink/White, T.K. Takaishi: Green/White and the D-3 was Dubbed "D-3s" by Izzy for their three settings—Digital, Detect and Discover—the D-3s possess all the basic functions of the original Digivices, allowing for Digivolution to the Champion level and DNA Digivolution to Ultimate. Used in conjunction with Digimental-type Digi-Eggs, stored within everyday store-bought palmtops known as "D-Terminals", D-3s also allow Armor Digivolution. A specific power that the D-3s possess over the original Digivices is their ability to open "Digi-Ports"—computer programs that serve as gateways to the Digital World. Original Digivices cannot perform this function, although once a Digi-Port is opened by a D-3, holders can still traverse the dimensional gap. This means that D-3's are necessary to get into the Digital World, as the dimensional barrier between the worlds was repaired when the original DigiDestined released their Crests. Ken Ichijouji's corrupted Dark D-3 have the inverse effect of a normal Digivice, projecting an energy which inhibited Digivolution. In the guise of the Digimon Emperor, Ken constructed a series of Control Spires around the Digital World and broadcasted this energy into them; in turn, the spires generated wide-range energy fields that prevented Digivolution in the surrounding area. Ken was eventually freed from this dark influence and was able to use his Digivice to naturally evolve his Digimon partner, Wormmon; although he possessed the Crest of Kindness, he did not use it in conjunction with his Digivice in the animated series.

D-Power digivice: The D-Power (D-ARK/Dアーク, Dī-Āku?) is the Digivice used in Digimon Tamers. Takato Matsuki and Rika Nonaka receive their D-Powers by slashing a Blue Card through a card-reader Guilmon Comes Alive O Partner, Where Art Thou?, while Henry Wong received his by slashing a Blue Card through a computer Digimon gaming attachment. It Came From the Other Side Jeri Katou, Kazu Shioda, Suzie Wong, Kenta Kitagawa, and Ai and Mako's D-Powers appeared before them in a shroud of light A World Apart Kazu's Upgrade Rabbit Transit Homeward Bound Jeri Fights Back, later revealed to have been delivered by DigiGnomes.[citation needed] Ryo Akiyama borrowed Takato's D-Power during the fight against XeedMillenniummon Digimon Tamers: Brave Tamer, and is in possession of a D-Power of unspecified origin. When Takato's anger over Leomon's death at the hands of Beelzemon causes WarGrowlmon to digivolve into Megidramon, his D-Power overloads and is destroyed. Lionheart He later receives the D-Power's Ultimate Version (アルティメットバージョン, Arutimetto Bājon?),[1] a gold D-Power which also has DigiCode written on it, reading: デジモンテイマーズ (デジモンテイマーズ, Dejimon Teimāzu?, lit. "Digimon Tamers"). The Battle Within This Digivice can be used with a card from the Digimon card game to execute Digi-Modify to give the Tamer's Digimon extra attacks or effects. Though originally the Primary Tamers' Digimon needed to be exposed to Calumon's power in order for the D-Power to digivolve them to the Champion Level, until a Digivolution Card aided this function. Grow Mon Grow To achieve Ultimate level, Tamers needed to use a Blue Card for Matrix Digivolution,[2] and the D-Power is also used by Takato, Henry, Rika, and Ryo to use Biomerge Digivolution,[2] which allows the Tamer to fuse with the partner Digimon to digivolve to the Mega level. The D-Power can analyze nearly every Digimon that the Tamer's Digimon sees Digimon, Digimon Everywhere, has a Compass/Radar function Guilmon Comes Alive which can detect when an aggressive Digimon is nearby, and can display what the Tamer's Digimon is seeing Grow Mon Grow. Ryo's is seen to generate an energy whip Blame It on Ryo; it is not known whether the other Tamers' D-Powers have this function. The D-Power can also heal the Tamer's Digimon A World Apart. If needed, the D-Power contains a data port on the top that can be accessed by opening a hatch by pressing the up button His Kingdom for a Horse. (It's unknown if a special option is needed to be accessed to open the hatch, or if it can be accessed simply by pressing the up button in an idle state.) While in Ryo's possession, Takato's red D-Power can be charged with energy to convert any of XeedMillenniummon's minions he comes across into a card for later use. Digimon Tamers: Brave Tamer Chiaki J. Konaka states in his character notes for Janyu Wong that the D-Power was inspired by the Xerox Dynabook, as a portable computer interface for children.

D-Tector digivice: The D-Tector (ディースキャナ, Dī-Sukyana?, lit. "D-Scanner") is the Digivice used in Digimon Frontier, its Japanese name comes from its notable function of scanning Fractal Code. When Takuya Kanbara, Koji Minamoto, Tommy Himi, Zoe Orimoto, and J.P. Shibayama are first brought to the Digital World, their cellphones are changed into D-Tectors through Ophanimon's power. All Aboard Later, when Koichi Kimura's resolution purifies the Spirits of Darkness, Koji's D-Tector surrounds the boy in light and produces a new D-Tector. Ne'er The Twins Shall Meet When confronted with Cherubimon, Ophanimon uses the last of her power to upgrade Takuya and Koji's D-Tectors to their second level, which allows them to use Unified Spirit Evolution. Takuya and Koji's Evolution Revolution The D-Tector allows the DigiDestined to use Spirit Evolution All Aboard and Beast Spirit Evolution.[3] Can't Keep a Grumblemon Down It can be used to scan, purify, and then realize Fractal Code and Spirits. All Aboard D-Tector users can communicate with each other, Stuck In Sakkakumon With You the creator of the Digivice Ophanimon Bizarre Bazaar, or with the Spirits themselves. End of the Line

Digimon pendulum X digivice: The Pendulum X (ペンデュラムX, Pendyuramu Ekkusu?) is the Digivice used in Digimon Chronicle. It has an X-Antibody Indicator on it and comes in different colors. It is named Digivice X (デジヴァイスX, Dejivaisu Ekkusu?) in

D-Cyber: The D-Cyber is the Digivice used by the Tamers of the Chinese manhua Digimon D-Cyber. It's in the shape of a flip-style cell phone and also had an X-Antibody indicator. In reality, the toy is just an alternate Pendulum X made by Bandai Asia. By shaking the D-Cyber in the proper way, a Tamer could get their Digimon to unleash a powerful attack.

Data link digivice: The Data Link Digivice (デジヴァイスiC, Dejivaisu Ai Shī?, lit. "Digivice iC") is a Digivice used in Digimon Data Squad, Digimon Next, and Digimon World DS. As members of DATS, Thomas H. Norstein, Yoshino "Yoshi" Fujieda, Miki Kurosaki, and Megumi Shirakawa received their Digivices when they joined prior to the start of the series. Marcus Damon was given his by Commander-General Homer Yushima THERE ARE MONSTERS AMONG US!, who worked with Commander Richard Sampson to build their own by blueprints sent by Spencer Damon.[citation needed] Spencer Damon had his own Digivice and also built Keenan Crier's, which reveals all of the Data Link Digivices were created by Spencer Damon. After a failed attempt to capture the Code Key of Lust, Kosaburo Katsura, determined not to fail his client's request, produces a Digivice. Digimon World Data Squad A version of this Digivice is used in Digimon World DS and Digimon World Dawn/Dusk, except there is no D.N.A. system, and there is an added Digifarm function instead. Sayo uses a Black, Purple, and Grey version in Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, despite using a Digivice Burst in Dawn/Dusk. Megumi and Miki's Digivices are inverted to symbolise their opposing coloured PawnChessmon, and align to their Digimon's colour.

Digivice burst: The Digivice Burst (デジヴァイスバースト, Dejivaisu Bāsuto?) is a Digivice used in Digimon Data Squad and Digimon World Dawn and Dusk. The Digivice Burst allows Digimon to digivolve via "D.N.A. Charge! Overdrive!" (Digisoul Charge! Overdrive! in Japan) to the Mega level. It has all the same functions as the Data Links, plus the ability to use "Charge! D.N.A. Burst Mode!" ("Charge! Digisoul Burst!" in the Japanese version) to activate "Burst Mode", as well the "Signal Port", allowing the use of a new feature called "Air Signal", which has three functions: Aura, Barrier and Burst Evolution. AndIn episode 29, Marcus, Thomas, and Yoshino managed to repair their broken Digivice iCs and turn them into Bursts, thanks to BanchoLeomon's training. Keenan's iC evolved to Burst in Episode 43 when he and Yoshino finally managed to bring their partners to Burst Mode. Spencer Damon was the first one to obtain the Digivice Burst after meeting with BanchoLeomon, before the start of the series. And it is an upgraded version of the Data Link Digivice

Dark digivice: The Dark Digivice (ダークデジヴァイス, Dāku Dejivaisu?) is a Digivice used in Digimon Data Squad. A purple and green Digivice, it is used by Professor Akihiro Kurata to pseudo-evolve Gizumon to either Gizumon-AT or Gizumon-XT through the use of "Artificial D.N.A.", which it can create. It has an equipped circuit line that is attached from the digivice to a small storage portable, which holds the energy to create the "Artificial D.N.A.". In Digimon Masters, the DigimonArchive resembles a Dark Digivice.

Bio link digivice: The Bio Link Digivice (聖たちのデジヴァイス, Kouki-tachi no Dejivaisu?, lit. "Kouki and the others' Digivice")[5] is a Digivice used in Digimon Data Squad. These Digivices were used by the Bio-Hybrids under the command of Kurata to turn themselves into Digimon. The Digivice is kept under the forearm, then, when it's needed, slides out into the hand. "Bio Hybrid D.N.A. Charge" allows the people to evolve into a hybrid Armor level Digimon, while for their Mega level, only Nanami calls out "Bio Hybrid D.N.A. Full Charge".

Digimon twin digivice:The Digimon Twin (デジモンツイン, Dejimon Tsuin?) are two Digivices used in Digimon Next. Called the Anti-God Devices, they were to be used with the Arbitrators, VictoryGreymon and ZeedGarurumon, to take down Yggdrasill should it become corrupted. They were given to Tsurugi Tatsuno and Yu Inui by Norn in order to digivolve their Digimon to Mega.

Fusion loader: The Fusion Loader (クロスローダー/Xローダー, Kurosu Rōdā?, lit. "X Loader", short for "Xros Loader") is the Digivice used in Digimon Fusion. The Fusion Loader is able to store a Digimon's data to allow it to recover its health Mikey Goes To Another World!. Unlike the Data Link Digivice, the Fusion Loader can store multiple Digimon. Island Zone in Chaos! Although in the manga, the more digimon in the Fusion Loader, the slower the healing process happens. It can be used open portals between Zones Island Zone in Chaos! and Lands Vampire Land and the Moonlight General, as well as travel between the Human World and DigiQuartz. It also allows the user to see into the DigiQuartz through a circular hologram. We, The Digimon Hunters! The Fusion Loader can be used to perform DigiFuse between their Digimon Mikey Goes To Another World!, and also to digivolve the user's Partner. When Worlds Collide The Fusion Loader is able store and use Code Crowns and DigiCards. A Rival Appears Thanks for the DigiCards! It can also generate 3D maps of the Digital World Back to the Digital World! Hot Time in Dragonland!, and monitor the ambient temperature. A Great Hunter Gathering! The Digimon Contest of the Southern Island! The Watchmaker's Fusion Loader can emit a red light vaguely explained as a sub-version of Clockmon. Now Revealed! The Secret of the Digimon Hunt! The purpose of this function is unknown. And In the manga, a Fusion Loader is also able to track other Fusion Loaders. Xros Apocalypse!! The Beast of Revelation!!

Darkness loader: The Darkness Loader (ダークネスローダー, Dākunesu Rōdā?), is a powerful artifact sought out by AxeKnightmon. It was initially dormant within an orb of dark energy kept hidden away within AxeKnightmon's tower in the Dust Zone. He sought to activate it by collecting massive amounts of refined dark energy. After being completed, AxeKnightmon presented it to his brother Bagramon. Bagramon then gives one of seven copies of the Darkness Loader to each of his Dark Generals, while the original is given to Ewan Amano. The Darkness Loader originally lay dormant within an orb of darkness. However, when it was fully awakened and given to Bagramon, it took on the appearance of a black Fusion Loader with a spike motif. Its primary ability is to perform Dark DigiFuses between Digimon, as well as using Disengage Fuse to undo the Digifuse. Like a regular Fusion Loader, it is also able to display tactical maps and battle plans. When the Darkness Loader performs a Dark Digifuse, the fangs at the top open up to reveal an orb of darkness. For the Dark Generals, this orb is emblazoned with their emblem. In the manga, when Nene performs a Dark DigiFuse between herself and Shademon, her Fusion Loader becomes the Darkness Loader, Xros Revolution!! The Guide to Miracles!! but becomes a Fusion Loader again when she digivolves into Luminamon (Nene Version). Xros Miracle!! Reel in a Sliver of Hope!!

App drive duo: The App Drive Duo (アプリドライヴDUOデュオ, Apuri Doraivu Dyuo?, lit. "Appli Drive DUO") is an upgraded App Drive. This version of the App Drive does have a few similarities with the original App Drive in that it needs to be unlocked in order to be wielded, and can also perform the Apprealize function as well. Like with the original, it gets delivered to their chosen human and asks about them. Yujin received his from a sushi dispenser, and asked if he had any friends he wanted to protect at the cost of his own life. Appli Drive DUO! Offmon Appears Unlike the original however, the Appliarise function is performed differently. In order to open the drive, the user had to push a lever that slid apart the two halves of the cover instead of sliding down the entire cover. Then, after the chip is locked in, and the cover closed, the user then had to touch a red button at the bottom of the Digivice to initiate the sequence. Appliarising an Appmon from the App Drive Duo will increase its natural power by 50%, as it adds part of the App Driver's power to the Appmon. Appli Drive DUO! Offmon Appears When the red conformation button is touched again, the App Drive Duo can initiate an Overdrive function, in which the Appmon suddenly gains a burst of energy allowing them to perform a much stronger version of its attacks. However, this maneuver will drain part of the App Driver's energy. Thank You Future! Welcome to the City of AI! An App Drive Duo can also keep an Appmon in their Ultimate form without a time limit. A New Power! Appli Drive DUO!

Digimon world/digital world: The Digital World (デジタルワールド, Dejitaru Wārudo?) is a fictional world featured in the Digimon media franchise. The Digital World, sometimes abbreviated as "Digi-World", is a world that exists parallel to Earth which has an intimate link to the data on Earth's telecommunications networks. And According to Digimon Tamers: Brave Tamer, the Digital World's beginnings can be traced to the early 20th century, with the activation of the Atanasoff–Berry Computer—the first computer—which laid the basic foundations of the world. Subsequently, the first patented computer ENIAC was activated and proceeded to build upon those foundations, shaping the Digital World. Over the ensuing years through the growth of electronic communications on Earth the Digital World continued to expand, even after the ABC and ENIAC were shut down. There are multiple alternate reality incarnations of the Digital World, each one running parallel with the multiple Earths existing in the multiverse. The different Digimon anime series are set in separate Digital Worlds. The basic mechanics, locations, and inhabitants of Digital World appear in each though the individual natures, origins, and histories vary greatly. Similarities between these various Digital Worlds exist, however. They all basically parallel Earth's geography features. There are continents, islands, deserts, mountains, oceans, and almost all other kinds of terrain one finds on the topography of Earth. However, as data is easy to modify and considering that the Digital World is made up of data the features of any particular area of the Digital World are subject to immediate, and drastic alteration at any time. For example, a gigantic mountain can be formed in moments Enter The Dark Masters or portions of islands can be scattered across a sea Evil Shows His Face with ease. The true malleability of the Digital World makes it a frequent target of attack from humans with ill intentions. Although ordinary animals are known to exist in at least some of the Digital Worlds,[citation needed] the dominant lifeforms of all realities are Digimon. Digimon are sentient creatures also made of data. It is possible for Digimon to travel to the Real World, what humans call Earth, though this requires the opening of some sort of dimensional wormhole in either the Digital World or Real World. Most of humanity does not know of the Digital World's existence. The few humans that do either programmed some aspect of the original version or were summoned by a Digimon or other digital being. On rare occasions, however, a wormhole or portal can appear on Earth allowing people unknowing of the Digital World to enter it. Due to its platonic nature, the Digital World often finds itself intertwined with humanity's collective unconsciousness and the metaphysical theory of forms, sometimes resulting in Digimon manifesting as yokai or similar entities derived from human belief. The Digital World featured in Digimon Adventure and its sequels Digimon Adventure 02 and Digimon Adventure tri. This incarnation of the Digital World runs closely parallel to two other dimensions. One is a kaleidoscopic world of dreams that possesses the power to transform beliefs into reality The Last Temptation of the DigiDestined and the other is a "world of darkness", the grim and foreboding Dark Ocean that has the ability to make the darker thoughts of others come to life. Opposites Attract The Digital World is tied very closely to these two worlds and has absorbed a fraction of the former's power to bring thoughts to life; this power, combined with the data of the Digital World gave life to human thoughts, dreams, spiritual beliefs and myths in the form of Digimon. As explained by Gennai the reason why the Digital World has primitive and modern things is because of data deleted from the Real World. For example, if someone were to create a construction project but had to shut it down and delete it for good that data would be sent to the Digital World and the construction project would continue to build there. In this universe Digimon life is cyclical. When a Digimon reaches the end of their life, the data which makes up their body disperses, only to reform at Primary Village where it takes the form of a Digi-Egg. The eggs are tended by Elecmon and hatch out into baby Digimon so that the Digimon can live their lives over again, ad infinitum. There is some evidence to suggest that the data of evil Digimon does not reform at Primary Village, but rather is sent to the world of darkness. Many locations in this Digital World are named after computer programs and hardware. For example, the two continents of the Digital World are named Folder Continent and Server Continent. File Island is a key location in this Digital World, home to Primary Village and a form of nexus point for the world's data. Several decades before the events of the series, Apocalymon and his Dark Masters came to the Digital World from beyond the Wall of Fire, causing the Digital World to become warped in both space and time. To defeat this being the original five DigiDestined, including Maki Himekawa and Daigo Nishijima were chosen and brought to the Digital World. Their Digimon were able to defeat the Dark Masters and fend off Apocalymon, becoming the Harmonious Ones in the process. The children's legend was famed throughout the Digital World with temples erected to their memories and a prophecy made stating that a new generation would arise when the Digital World would need them again, while their Digimon became the guardians of the four regions of the Digital World—Azulongmon in particular being the guardian of the Eastern region, where most of the Japanese DigiDestined's adventures take place. When Apocalymon eventually returned to the Digital World and his Dark Masters sealed away the Harmonious Ones, a new group of eight children were selected to become the new DigiDestined. They were transported to the Digital World, and as a result of their eventual victory over Apocalymon, the flow of time in the Digital World was re-synchronized with Earth time. In Digimon Adventure 02, the dimensional balance of the Digital World came under threat when the human Yukio Oikawa—possessed by the digital ghost of the evil Myotismon—used agents such as the Digimon Emperor, Mummymon, and Arukenimon to erect huge black obelisks known as Control Spires around the Digital World, destabilizing all reality around it so he could gain access to it. The culmination of this plan resulted in the revelation of the Digital World's existence to the world at large; twenty-five years after these events all humans have a Digimon partner. And in Digimon Tamers features a very different Digital World from that depicted in the first two Digimon series. In the earliest stages of its existence, this incarnation of the Digital World was little more than a barren desert. As it grew alongside the Earth's communications network, however, it evolved and changed in dynamic ways, with more and more "layers" coming into existence over the top of the old ones. The lowest layer is the original desert plain, and the highest is the home of the four Digimon Sovereigns that rule the Digital World. In between lie many small miniverses, self-contained environments specially suited to the Digimon that live there, including (but not limited to) an area of clouds and clockwork; a warped, black-and-white town; an area of forests, lakes and rivers; and a world entirely composed of water. Random packets of discarded data often roam the Digital World like tumbleweeds and can be used to help repair and heal injured Digimon. Although the Digital World has both night and day, there is no transitional period between the two with darkness instantly sweeping across the world like a sheet. Visible in the sky no matter what plain it is viewed from is a pulsing globe of code and light, which represent the Earth—from it emanate data streams, vast columns of energy which reach into the Digital World and manipulate its digital matter, physical representations of acts performed on computers across the world. Should an individual be caught in a data stream they will be swept into it and deposited elsewhere on any of the Digital World's potential planes. Between Earth and the Digital World is a warped region of interdimensional space where reality is constantly in flux and defined only by the perceptions of individuals passing through it. Digimon are, in fact not native to this Digital World, having been created by a group of teenage computer programmers in the late 1980s as an experiment into the development of artificial intelligence. When the project was shut down due to a lack of funds their primitive digital lifeforms accidentally found their way into the Digital World where they began to grow and evolve. One of the programmers, Shibumi observed this and wrote an algorithm that allowed the Digimon to evolve beyond their original specifications and truly become individual lifeforms. Four Digimon in particular evolved into especially powerful forms and became the aforementioned Digimon Sovereigns. The Digital World does have native lifeforms, however, in the form of DigiGnomes, the first form of artificial life who evolved from the matter of the Digital World itself before the Digimon. The DigiGnomes tend to the welfare of the Digital World and have mysterious powers that allow them to grant the wishes of others. Another definitive feature of this Digital World is that any Digimon that dies is dead indefinitely. While in other Digital Worlds the death of a Digimon usually results in an infinite cycle of rebirth, Digimon in this Digital World are turned into data upon their deaths. In most cases this data is absorbed or "loaded" by other Digimon in order to power up or digivolve. However, this is contradictory to Rika Nonaka's claim that Digimon return to where they came from after their death. Now You See It, Now You Don't While conducting secret information-gathering on the network the Japanese SIGINT organization Hypnos became aware of the existence of the Digital World and Digimon which they dubbed Wild Ones, a term used in the Matrix Evolution theme song of Tamers as well as the opening theme of Frontier. Sometime after this Digimon began to appear in the real world, possibly due to Hypnos's inadvertent creation of a "weak spot" in the borders between the worlds with the use of the Juggernaut, a program designed to send errant Digimon back to Digital World or erase their data from the Real World. Digimon materialize on Earth through a process known as "Bio-Emerging," which begins when the barrier between the worlds is temporarily sundered to allow their passage through. The interaction of the two dimensions creates Digital Fields—small gray fog banks which allow Digimon to synthesize false proteins and convert themselves into physical forms after interacting with Earth's electromagnetic field. These Digital Fields can appear in random locations instantaneously and often with little warning. In addition to Hypnos and the original programmers the Monster Makers, initially the only humans to be aware of Digimon and the Digital World are a small group of children known as Tamers. These Tamers had been chosen by the DigiGnomes to become partners with Digimon and the creatures had used Shibumi's algorithm to bond human and Digimon together as partners via the D-Power. However, with the progression of the series and the increase in Digimon activity on Earth escalating from small skirmishes between the Tamers and single Digimon (with little to no damage to the Tamers' home city) to more devastating occurrences and eventually a massive, city-devastating battle with the Deva and finally the full-scale invasion of the D-Reaper the existence of Digimon and the Digital World eventually became public knowledge. And in digimon frontier The Digital World of Digimon Frontier is divided into ten regions, each one representative of one of the world's ten elements—Flame, Light, Ice, Wind, Thunder, Earth, Wood, Water, Steel and Darkness. A massive network of train tracks crisscross the planet with a terminal in each region, allowing the train-like Digimon Trailmon to ferry passengers from one region to the next. The most distinguishing feature of the Digital World is that everything exists in the form of fractal code—the "command code" for any data. Fractal code is usually hidden, but once it is either uncovered or has its key taken, it can be "digitized", which in turn "unlocks" the data of the item or individual in question, allowing it to be manipulated. In most cases, this leads to the data being absorbed—an action frequently perpetrated by the villains of the series. Conversely, if the Fractal Code is "rendered", it restores the data to its intended shape and form and "locks" it back into place. Lobomon: Warrior of Light If a Digimon has their fractal code scanned but their data is not completely absorbed, then it will reconfigure itself into a Digi-Egg, All Aboard which then transports itself to the Village of Beginnings, where, after being tended by Swanmon, it will hatch out into a new baby Digimon and start its life over again. Glean Eggs And Scram In ancient times, the Digital World was wracked by a massive war between the human- and beast-type Digimon. It was then that the angel Digimon, Lucemon, appeared and brought the war to an end, leading to a period of peace. However, Lucemon eventually grew corrupted and became a tyrannical ruler, prompting the emergence of ten great Ten Legendary Warriors who embodied the ten elements. After a mighty battle the Ten Legendary Warriors were able to defeat Lucemon and imprisoned him in the Dark Area deep within the center of the Digital World. Better An Egg Than An Egg Shell This particular Digital World is also orbited by three Digital Moons—Red Moon, Yellow Moon, and Blue Moon. At least two of the Digital Moons are inhabited: the Blue Moon has the Moon Base and the Yellow Moon contains the remnants of the Village of Beginnings. And the digimon data squad few people are aware of the Digital World's existence. DATS (short for Digital Accident Tactics Squad), a secret government organization is in charge of trying to avoid, prevent and clean up damage or attacks that Digimon cause in the Real World. Many of the Tamers in this series are DATS members. However, most Digimon in this Digital World hate humanity due to a genocide attempt perpetrated by Akihiro Kurata ten years before the events of the series. A large part of the Digital World appears to be ruled by Merukimon, one of the Olympus Twelve, but not all Digimon are under his rule or even agree with it. King Drasil reigns as the god of the Digital World and is served by the Royal Knights, a group of powerful Warrior and in digimon fusion the Digital World's balance is maintained by the Code Crown, which allows its user to rule over the Digital World and even alter its appearance. According to the Digital World researcher Wisemon, this Digital World has existed much longer than the human world, and it was only recently that humans progressed to utilize digital technology. By that time, a group of Digimon were battling Bagramon to keep both their world and the humans' world from being conquered. However, the fight ended with the Digimon sealed into DigiMemories while the Code Crown's fragmentation causes the Digital World to be divided into multiple "Zones" which become under attack by the Bagra Army's forces. But despite the actions of the Fusion Fighters and Blue Flare, Bagramon reforms the Code Crown and reformats the Digital World into seven land masses with his fortress in the center of it. And in digimon adventure the Digital World is a part of the Network to which it is connected by an opening with a pillar of energy running through it. It is known to possess at least one large ocean and two continents, Cloud Continent which is literally in the clouds and the Eternal Continent. Throughout the Digital World's history, the evil Digimon Negamon instigates various disasters in order to prompt the Digital World's evolution through the accumulation of data and learning by conflict. The Great Catastrophe, Negamon One such disaster is a war between the Army of Light and the Army of Darkness when the King of Darkness, Ghoulmon, attempts to destroy both the darkness and the light. The Angels' Determination The Army of Light includes Valdurmon, Cherubimon, WarGreymon, MetalGarurumon, Phoenixmon, Vikemon, HerculesKabuterimon, Rosemon, Seraphimon and Ophanimon During this war, the Army of Darkness' ultimate weapon is ZeedMillenniummon. The Celestial Digimon A New Darkness, Millenniummon Finally, after the other warriors are destroyed, Seraphimon and Ophanimon trigger WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon to DNA Digivolve into Omnimon who destroys ZeedMillenniummon and wins the war. The Crest of Courage The Army of Light is decimated with only Seraphimon, who dedigivolves into Angemon, surviving. The Celestial Digimon A New Darkness, Millenniummon The Glowing Angewomon The Sword of Hope However, ZeedMillenniummon is not completely destroyed and fragments of him are scattered across the Digital World with his followers, the Vademon, working to resurrect him. And in August 2020, Negamon begins working to instigate a new disaster, starting with dropping a bunch of Digi-Eggs into the Network. Tokyo Digital Crisis The DigiDestined are called to help protect both worlds and are partnered with the reborn warriors who had faced off against the Army of Darkness and the two Celestial Digimon who had aided them. The Celestial Digimon The Seventh Child's Awakening A New Darkness, Millenniummon Kari and Gatomon During this time, the Vademon succeed in resurrecting ZeedMillenniummon, but he is destroyed for good by WarGreymon using a Terra Force powered by the hope of all of the Digimon that the DigiDestined had encountered over their journey and the powers of Goldramon and Magnadramon. The End, the Ultimate Celestial Battle Shortly thereafter, Ghoulmon returns as "the first cry of the catastrophe" and he is destroyed by Seraphimon and Ophanimon before Negamon begins the Great Castastrophe. The Angels' Determination Having been corrupted by all of the negative energy that it absorbed, Negamon attempts to suck both worlds into a white void, digivolving into Abbadomon. The hopes and prayers of humans all over the world gives WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon the power to DNA Digivolve into Omnimon once again and after Mode Changing into Omnimon Alter-S, he destroys Abbadomon and ends the Great Catastrophe, saving both worlds. Abbadomon reformats into a Digi-Egg to be reborn and the children's Digivices restore the damage to both worlds. The DigiDestined return to their world with their partner Digimon aside from Tai Kamiya who chooses to continue his adventures with Agumon. Entering and exiting the digital world: Each anime and manga series has a different way for Digimon, humans and other beings to cross back and forth through the Real and Digital Worlds. Digimon Adventure, Adventure 02, and Adventure tri. In Digimon Adventure, transit to the Digital World was only possible via a preexisting gateway. The gateways were unlocked with the use of Digivices, pocket-sized devices that assisted in this task and helping a DigiDestined's partner Digimon Digivolve during battle. Other methods of going to the Digital World were possible but these were only rarely used in the series. The exact mechanics for how the portals open are unknown, but in Digimon Adventure 02 it was shown that they could be sealed so that nothing could cross them. BlackWarGreymon's Destiny In the Digimon Adventure movie released prior to the start of the series there was no explanation for how a gateway between the Real and Digital Worlds opened, just that for a brief period Digimon could freely travel across. Digimon Adventure 02 introduces Digi-Ports, programs built into computers which allowed access to the Digital World. The precise origins of the programs are unclear but they are activated by D-3s, the kind of Digivice used in this series. The original Digivice cannot be used to open Digi-Ports but if a Digi-Port program has already been opened the person wielding the original Digivice can still travel to the Digital World. Digi-Ports are capable of appearing on computers randomly. Before the existence of D-3s the original DigiDestined had to open the Digi-Port program and hope the gate was open, though it would open or close according to chance and was never open two days in a row according to Koushiro "Izzy" Izumi. Originally the Digi-Ports only appeared on a school computer, but Izzy later realized that it could be opened with any computer. When the travelers come back through the Digi-Ports, they reappear through the exact same computer that they left through. In the second Adventure movie, Digimon Adventure: Our War Game! a Digimon named Tsumemon was able to infiltrate the wires comprising the Internet. In the sequel movie Digimon Adventure 02: Revenge of Diaboromon a digivolved form of the same Digimon broke apart its data and materialized out of the Internet onto Earth. At the end of Digimon Adventure tri. Izzy is working on a new gate to freely travel into the Digital World without the use of Digi-Ports or any Digivice. And in Digimon Tamers Humans still required some form of portal to access the Digital World in Digimon Tamers. Unlike previous series, gateways appear randomly and do not require a Digivice to traverse. The main portal used is found beneath the shed where Guilmon was staying. The Journey Begins Such Sweet Sorrow This series's random portals cannot transport humans back from Digital World, so instead the Monster Makers designed the Ark. Janyu's Ark It materialized in the Digital World as a vessel which the Tamers boarded to Bio-Emerge in the Real World. Homeward Bound A final method of returning to the Real World was mentioned by Ryo to Rika that involved going to another world between the Digital and Real Worlds[citation needed] though it was never used or explained further in the series. One man, Gorou Mizuno, alias Shibumi had his consciousness projected into the Digital World when he entered into a coma following a car accident. His body could be seen in the Digital World and he could speak but he was translucent and otherwise immaterial. Shibumi Speaks How he could do this was never explained. Locomon, while possessed by Parasimon, is able to open a portal between the two worlds to bring in an army of Parasimon. Justimon is also able to travel through this portal from the Digital World to help in the battle. After Gallantmon Crimson Mode uses his Crimson Light attack on the portal and destroys the Parasimon army, the portal closes. Runaway Locomon and in Digimon Frontier Traveling to and from the Digital World in Digimon Frontier is accomplished via the use of Trailmon, Digimon who are sentient trains. The railways of this Digital World World traverse dimensions as well as landscapes; the Shibuya Train Station located on Earth is situated beneath Tokyo's Shibuya Station. This station is known only to Digimon and the humans summoned there. However, the station is integrated into the main systems of Shibuya and accessible through the normal station's elevator, though at a level much deeper than the elevator would normally imply. Digimon Frontier also has another case of a human consciousness being projected into the Digital World. Koichi Kimura is taken there when he falls down a flight of stairs. Though it appears he has a physical body in the Digital World, he does not sustain any damage when the other DigiDestined, who were physically transported, do, and his own fractal code is never open for taking until his actual consciousness is scanned by Lucemon which causes him to flatline in the Human World. During the final battle with the Legendary Warriors, Lucemon Shadowlord Mode is able to open a portal between the worlds through sheer force, emerging in the train station and then continuing on upwards to the surface. Following Lucemon's destruction, this portal begins to close and the Spirits throw the Legendary Warriors back through who then emerge on the surface of the human world in the elevator leading to the underground Trailmon station. End of the Line and In Digimon Data Squad, Digimon travel between worlds using DigiGates. In this series, DigiGates do not appear randomly and cannot be opened with nor do they require a Digivice to access. DigiGates are created using a machine, a few of which belong to DATS, the Crier family and Kurata. DATS can also create Digital Gates using a machine to send Digitamas of rogue Digimon back to the Digital World. Human transfer to and from the Digital World is also possible and called a Digital Dive. Ane In Digimon Fusion, each of the humans who enter the Digital World is pulled in by a specific powerful Digimon—Omnimon for Mikey Kudo, Angie Hinomoto and Jeremy Tsurgi, SkullKnightmon for Nene Amano and Ewan Amano, Bagramon for Christopher Aonuma, and Quartzmon for Ryoma Mogami. Tactimon is sent to the Real World by Bagramon alongside Mikey, Shoutmon, Angie and Jeremy after being defeated by DeckerGreymon and Shoutmon X5. Fall of the Final Code Crown Bagramon later uses the power of the Sword of Storms and Dark Stone to penetrate the barrier between both worlds and invade Earth not long after. D5 And The Brotherhood Of Evil Final Fusion - The Fight For Earth! And in Digimon Adventure: the DigiDestined are simply pulled into the Digital World through the Network when they are needed with Tai Kamiya being returned following the first defeat of the Mega Argomon only to be pulled back in soon afterwards. And to the Digital World Izzy Izumi is pulled into the Network and makes his way through it with Whamon and Tentomon before eventually reaching the Digital World. The Celestial Digimon After being returned to the Real World by Negamon, Countdown to Tokyo's Annihilation the DigiDestined are suddenly pulled back when a light suddenly surrounds Kari Kamiya who is pulled in along with them. Despite being separated from their Digimon partners when they were returned to the Real World, when they come to the rescue of Tai, Matt and T.K., they have already been reunited, suggesting that the return wasn't an instantaneous transportation to their friends' sides. Break Through the Sea Monster Barricade When the DigiDestined return home following the destruction of Negamon and the end of the Great Catastrophe, Izzy Izumi works on creating a Digital Gate between the two worlds in order to make travel easier. The End of the Adventure

Digimon tamers/tamers: A Tamer (テイマー, Teimā?) is the generic term for people partnered to Digimon in the Digimon media franchise, contrasting with DigiDestined, a term for people who are chosen for a special mission. Tamers can be created any number of ways. Some Tamers are chosen by DigiGnomes due to a strong wish, as do the Tamers in Digimon Tamers, while others simply connect with a Digimon and form a strong bond, as with Marcus Damon in Digimon Data Squad. Still others defeat Digimon and befriend them that way, as the Guard Tamers in Digimon World 2 or the Tamers in Digimon World Dawn and Dusk, or simply raise them as a game, as in Digimon Adventure V-Tamer 01 and Digimon Next. Functionally, many Tamers are similar to their DigiDestined counterparts, with Digivices to call their own and, in most cases, a bond with their partner. However, there are two main differences; one is that some Tamers can have multiple Digimon, while the same can rarely be said of DigiDestined. The other is that Tamers lend their partners more energy when they fight; the ones from Digimon Tamers feel their partners' pain when they fight for too long, while the ones from Data Squad fight alongside their partners. It's impossible for an average Tamer to use an Airdramon or control a Dobermon. Because Ryo doesn't have his own partner, he uses the partners of others, include Agumon and Veemon. He does not have a Digivice of his own but borrows others; this allows him to purify opposing Digimon and bring them to his side. Additionally, there are more Tamers in Digimon Adventure 02: D-1 Tamers, where there are enough to gather a mock tournament to train Ryo. Tamers include known DigiDestined such as Mimi Tachikawa and Taichi "Tai" Kamiya, the latter of whom actually uses more Digimon than just his partner Digimon. Lui Ohwada was stated by Producer Eri Shimomura to not be DigiDestined despite him having a Digivice and Partner Digimon — Ukkomon. This theoretically makes him a Tamer instead. Digimon Tamers, Tamers in this series are chosen essentially by the will of DigiGnomes, who either transform Digimon cards into Blue Cards which turn card-reading devices into D-Powers or simply outright gifting Tamers with D-Powers. There is initially some conflict over the roles of Tamers; Takato Matsuki, for example, enjoys simply raising his partner, while Rika Nonaka actively seeks battle to be the strongest. The humans in this series are Tamers. Despite this, in the English dub of Digimon Tamers: Battle of Adventurers, the first Tamers movie, Omnimon calls the Tamers DigiDestined. And in digimon data squad The main human characters of this series possess Digivices, and are partnered with Digimon that came to the Real World as Digi-Eggs, unlike other Digimon. Tamers are generally under the command of DATS, who seek to return rampaging Digimon back to the Digital World and have the populace as a whole remain unaware of Digimon. Some Tamers are actually gifted with partners sent by the reigning god King Drasil to watch and observe humans.

Digimon summary: Digimon (デジモン, Dejimon?), short for "Digital Monster" (デジタルモンスター, Dejitaru Monsutā?), are mysterious lifeforms that were discovered in the Computer Network in 1997.[1] They are central to the Digimon franchise. The word "Digimon" is typically invariable in the plural, though there are some cases where the term is pluralized as "Digimons". Digimon include almost all the creatures that reside within a parallel universe called the "Digital World." There are many different species of Digimon, as well as unconfirmed and new generations of Digimon yet to be revealed. The number of Digimon species continuously increases as the Digital World expands each year.

Digimon characteristics: Digimon hatch from eggs called Digi-Eggs (デジタマ, Degitama?). They age via a process called "Digivolution" which changes their appearance and increases their physical powers. Some Digimon act feral, like wild animals. Most, however, possess intelligence, speech, and personality traits like humans. It was mentioned that, if a partner Digimon were to be separated from their partner, then they would start to become weaker. An example of this is Yolei Inoue's partner, Poromon. When Yolei is away in Kyoto, Poromon begins to feel weaker each day. A Chance Encounter Digimon consist of a DigiCore, a Wire-frame model, and their appearance on top of said model as a texture. As such, there is nothing else other than the wire-frame and texture — for example there is nothing under Angemon's mask other than wire-frame. However, if Angemon's mask were to be ever taken off, its DigiCore would replace its now removed mask with a newly created face. The first Digimon vpet introduces the Digimon life cycle: they develop in a similar fashion to real living organisms, but do not die under normal circumstances because they are made of reconfigurable data. Old Digimon and Digimon who receive fatal wounds dissolve into infinitesimal bits of data. The data then recomposes itself as a Digi-Egg, and the Digimon goes through its life cycle again. Digimon who are reincarnated in this way will sometimes retain some or all their memories of their previous lifespan. In the Digimon Adventure universe, this cycle of reincarnation can be interrupted if the Digimon dies in the Real World,[please confirm] although the system-wide Reboot allowed such Digimon to finally be reincarnated. In addition, when a human dies in that universe, any Digimon partnered to it die as well.[please confirm] In addition, when a DigiDestined runs out of potential, their partner will cease to exist. This usually happens when they become an adult, though Menoa Bellucci lost hers when she was 14. Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna These Digimon can still come back however, as Taichi "Tai" Kamiya, Yamato "Matt" Ishida, and Sora Takenouchi lost their partners in 2010 Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna but regained them at some point before 2028. A Million Points of Light Human death causing their partner to die also applies to the Digimon Survive universe. In the Digimon Tamers and Digimon Data Squad universes, the Digimon's data can be downloaded or absorbed by other Digimon, resulting in a permanent death.[please confirm] In some media, such as Digimon Fusion, series directed by Hiroyuki Kakudo, and games produced by Kazumasa Habu, Digimon were not born as a result of humans creating computers, and instead always existed, living alongside humans, though in another dimension, becoming visible to humans once they created computers and digital technology. Digimon may have been manifested through magic or sorcery, through the ancient art of Onmyōdō, subjugating them as shikigami, yōkai, or demons, but is now accomplished digitally, making them Digital Monsters.[3] In Digimon Tamers, Digimon were created by Humans. Chiaki J. Konaka stated in 2021 however that this wasn't actually the case and Digimon instead spawned from things such as human databases about ancient myths and Gods and the Humans forged the data claiming they created Digimon.

Digimon digivolution: Digivolution is a legendary power,[6] and the process by which a Digimon "ages" and grows up into larger and more powerful forms. Although the word "Digivolution" is a portmanteau for "Digital Evolution", Digivolution is in fact more similar to metamorphosis in that Digivolution changes a Digimon from one form to another, sometimes wildly disparate form, very quickly. Digivolution for Digimon is similar to aging for humans—it is generally a one-way journey whereby a Digimon will grow into a new form as they age and gain battle experience and data. However, moving from one form to another becomes progressively more difficult. Therefore, very few Digimon will ever naturally digivolve into their final most powerful forms. However, for the Digimon who are partnered with human allies such as Tamers or DigiDestined, Digivolution becomes far more flexible. Digimon who form bonds with a human are able to digivolve more easily, generally through the use of a Digivice owned by the human. In such cases, the Digimon is channeled large amounts of energy and is therefore able to instantaneously digivolve to a higher level. However, these Digimon will generally de-digivolve or degenerate back into a lower form after a fight. Digimon partnered to humans are also commonly able to use special forms of Digivolution not naturally available, giving these Digimon many different forms. These include Armor Digivolution and Biomerge Digivolution. In some cases, Digimon have also been granted the ability to digivolve into higher forms by other, very powerful Digimon. In Digimon Tamers, Impmon is able to digivolve into his Mega form by using power given to him by Zhuqiaomon. Motorcycle Madness Calumon is also able to help Guilmon, Renamon, and Terriermon digivolve, and with the help of the DigiGnomes he was even able to trigger the Digivolution of Digimon throughout the entire Digital World in order to prepare for the upcoming fight against the D-Reaper, because he is the concept of Digimon, the "Digi-Entelechies", given form. During Digivolution, a Digimon's appearance changes, and many of its other classifications (such as attribute and family) also sometimes do. The Digimon's fighting ability increases significantly, and the resulting Digimon is considered to be of a different species. However, Digimon species which are connected through Digivolution are generally similar in appearance. For example, Agumon is a small dinosaur-like Digimon; one of his Digivolved forms is Greymon, a much larger fully-grown dinosaur, and then MetalGreymon, a large armored and winged dinosaur. However, Digimon can sometimes digivolve into forms that appear very different. Salamon is a dog-like Digimon but can digivolve into Gatomon, a cat-like Digimon. Gatomon is able to further digivolve into Angewomon, a bipedal winged angel.

Digimon gender: Digimon do not have physical gender, and reproduce not through sexual reproduction but through a universal system of data recycling. Furthermore, although several species of Digimon have obvious femininity or masculinity in their species name or secondary sex characteristics, such as LadyDevimon or BanchoLeomon, any discussion of an archetypical member of that species will use the pronoun "it", as done in Digimon World Data Squad. The concept is directly explained by two major sources: Chiaki J. Konaka's official Digimon Tamers character design notes for Renamon, and by Renamon herself when she states that "Digimon aren't divided into gender." Despite their lack of physical gender, as characters the individual Digimon will often be addressed according to male or female gender roles, unless they behave as a mindless animal. Konaka alludes to this by explaining that "gender seems fairly easy to identify in Digimon."[citation needed] However, these gender roles vary from character to character despite any apparent genderedness of their design; for example, the "Renamon of Digimon Tamers and the Renamon of Digimon World Data Squad are almost identical, down to their voices, but are treated as if they female and male, respectively; this continues for the "male" Renamon even when he digivolves into more powerful forms with female secondary sex characteristics, like LadyDevimon or Lilithmon. In addition to gender roles, Digimon will often display heterosexual relationships or family units. For example, the Burgermon family in Digimon Frontier consisted of a mother, father, and children, and even in Digimon Tamers, Babamon and Jijimon were described as a married couple. Unlike in previous series, Digimon Fusion does not depict any real difference between how gender works for humans and for Digimon. Digimon couple and reproduce sexually,[7] form romantic relationships between genders,[8] and have distinct physical genders.[9] When both male and female members of a species appear, they are either depicted with obviously different designs between males and females, as with Beastmon or Mervamon and Ignitemon, or they lack secondary sex characteristics altogether.

Digimon naming system: The name of a Digimon species is usually based on its form, and may be a pun. For example, Hyokomon's name and design are derived from the Japanese onomatopoeia for unsteady steps (「ひょこひょこ」, "Hyokohyoko"?), as well as the Chick (Gallus gallus domesticus) (雛, Hiyoko?). The species's name almost always ends in "-mon". Digimon generally do not have individual names, and are instead simply referred to by the name of their species. So the word "Agumon", depending on the context it's used in, can either refer to the Digimon species or a single individual Digimon of that species. The Centarumon in Digimon Adventure and the Centarumon in Digimon Frontier share the same name because they are of the same species. However, they are not the same individual, and are different in appearance and voice. When a Digimon digivolves and assumes a new form, its name changes to match the species of its new form. However, it is still the same individual, despite having a different name. Some Digimon are given names or nicknames separate from their species, such as Zeromaru from Digimon Adventure V-Tamer 01.

Digimon classifications: Digimon species are given many different classifications. With the exception of level, these are generally only important in the Digimon card game, and play a very small role in Digimon anime.

Digimon levels: Digimon generally hatch out of Digi-Eggs (デジタマ, DejiTama?, lit. "Digi-Tama"[10]) as Fresh level Digimon, the lowest and weakest level, roughly equivalent to human infants. Most Digimon of this level are small and do not have well-defined body parts. Some series, such as Digimon Tamers, omit Digi-Eggs completely. Eventually, Fresh Digimon digivolve to the In-Training level, a slightly bigger and more complex form that generally still has undefined body parts. And In the anime, most Digimon encountered are of the Rookie or Champion level, with Ultimate and Mega-level Digimon being progressively rarer. Digimon of one Digivolution level are generally far stronger than Digimon of the previous level. There are exceptions where a Digimon has been able to defeat an opponent of a higher level. There are also cases, such as with Lucemon, Arcadiamon and the Awakened forms of the Sistermons, where a Digimon is far more powerful than what its actual Digivolution level would imply. The opposite can also happen, as Sukamon and Numemon are seen as some of the weakest Digimon in existence, despite being Champion level. And For most Digimon, there are six Digivolution levels: Fresh, Baby, In-Training I, Training I, or Infancy I (幼年期I, Yōnenki I?, lit. "Childhood I"), officially translated as "Baby I" In-Training, In-Training II, Training II, or Infancy II (幼年期II, Yōnenki II?, lit. "Childhood II"), officially translated as "Baby II" Rookie (成長期, Seichōki?, lit. "Youth"), officially translated as "Child" Champion (成熟期, Seijukuki?, lit. "Adolescence"), officially translated as "Adult" Ultimate (完全体, Kanzen-tai?, lit. "Perfect form"), officially translated as "Perfect" and Mega (究極体, Kyūkyoku-tai?, lit. "Ultimate form"), officially translated as "Ultimate" In some media, there is a level beyond Mega named "Ultra" (超究極体, Choukyuukyoku-tai?, lit. "Super Ultimate form") or "Level VII". The Digimon that fall into this classification are generally considered Megas by other sources. Additionally, some media such as Digimon World DS merge the first two levels into a single unified "In-Training" (幼年期, Yōnenki?) level. There are also levels which run parallel to the standard progression, the most notable being "Armor" and "Hybrid". The "Armor" level appeared in the Digimon Adventure 02 series and other media, and is reached when a Digimon uses a Digi-Egg to digivolve into an Armor Digimon. The English version of Digimon Card Game refers to it as "Armor Form" to avoid confusion with the Armor type. The "Hybrid" level contains several sub-levels and first appears in the Digimon Frontier series for Digimon who are formed by "Spirit Evolution". In Digimon Fusion and its related media, Digimon have no level. The Digimon Reference Book and Digimon Heroes! initially classified Digimon introduced by this series as "Xros Wars" level, but the Reference Book later announced, on September 25, 2020, that they would be retconning all Xros Wars level Digimon to have standard levels and attributes. And in Digimon Masters, a "Jogress" level is given to any Digimon obtained through Jogress Digivolution. It also introduced an "Xros" level for Digimon who are the result of DigiFuses, though a June 2020 update turned these Digimon into Jogress Digimon.

Mode change: There are some Digimon species who have multiple "modes", and are able to "Mode Change" between them. Often, this involves going from their normal form to a special mode that is more powerful in some way. For example, Beelzemon and Beelzemon Blast Mode. A Digimon's different modes are generally very similar in appearance (in this case, Beelzemon Blast Mode is simply Beelzemon with a giant blaster on one arm, green eyes instead of red, and two pairs of wings (two large, two small). Another example is Gallantmon and Gallantmon Crimson Mode where Gallantmon Crimson Mode is Gallantmon with red armor, a spear and sword, and the cape being replaced by angelic wings. Different modes of a Digimon are generally considered to be the same species. This is because a Digimon who goes through a Mode Change remains at the same Digivolution level (Imperialdramon Dragon Mode, Imperialdramon Fighter Mode, and Imperialdramon Paladin Mode are all Mega level Digimon in all appearances, despite going through two Mode Changes), and retain the same name (except with a suffix giving the name of the new mode). Although Mode Changing does not result in a change in a Digimon's species or level, it is considered a form of Digivolution. There are a few exception to this though. Lucemon, In Digimon Frontier, as well as most, if not all of its appearances in other media, the Mode Changes Lucemon goes though alter both his form and level; going from his regular Rookie level, to an Ultimate level in Chaos Mode, and then to Mega Level in Larva and Shadowlord Mode forms. Belphemon Sleep Mode's Mode Change to Belphemon Rage Mode in Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth and its sequel Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker's Memory also alter the form and level, as Sleep Mode is a Mega, with Rage Mode being an Ultra. The same applies to Shadowlord Mode, though this time two levels are skipped due to Shadowlord being Ultra as well. And In Digimon Data Squad, the transition to Burst Mode is called "Burst Evolution", showing that this Mode Change is also considered to be a form of Digivolution.

Digimon Attribute: Most Digimon species are classified into five attributes: Data attribute (データ種, Dēta-shu?), Vaccine attribute (ワクチン種, Wakushin-shu?), Virus attribute (ウィルス種, Wirusu-shu?), Free attribute (フリー種, Furī-shu?) Variable attribute (バリアブル種, Bariaburu-shu?) Most Digimon fall into the first three categories, with "Free" being rarer and "Variable" mostly exclusive to Hybrid Digimon. Some Digimon either have their attribute unidentified or lack them entirely. Virus Digimon re-write the area they live in in order to create an environment that better suit them, Vaccine Digimon return the environments re-written by Virus Digimon back to normal, and Data Digimon adapt to the environment they live in. Free is usually seen in ancient Digimon and existed before the others whilst Variable belongs to the Legendary Warriors and can shift between the other attributes depending on the situation. The main three attributes serve to classify the personalities of the Digimon. The Vaccine Digimon tend to be crusaders, with a great determination to fight against evil and stop injustice, while the Virus Digimon tend to be violent, with a thirst for power and domination. Data Digimon, meanwhile, are usually neutral and focus on their own issues. These attributes have a Rock, Paper, Scissors arrangement where Virus is generally advantaged against Data, Data is advantaged against Vaccine and Vaccine is advantaged against Virus. However, these attributes tend to not play a very important role in Digimon fights. A Digimon can generally defeat an opponent regardless of attribute if it is stronger than the opponent in Digivolution level and experience.

Digimon familys: Digimon are also classified into different "Digimon families", a concept derived from the Digimon Pendulums. Although most of the card games present these classifications as an inherent trait of each Digimon species, this quality is usually ignored in the series fiction, with one exception: in Digimon Next, the DigiMemories are manifestations of the eight most prominent families, and serve as the archetypes of the various classes of Digimon. In other series, the families only ever recieve allusions from various concepts; for example, in the last arc of Digimon Adventure, the Dark Masters' armies are named after four of the families, and in Digimon Adventure V-Tamer 01, the V-Tamer Tags which Tai Kamiya seeks are named after five of the families. Each Digimon family have a different colored background in the Digital Monster Card Game and Digi-Battle Card Game, and the Digimon within a family usually have something in common. For example, the Dragon's Roar family consists of Digimon who resemble dragons. These families become more important in the Digimon World Data Squad and DS Digimon Story games, where these families help determine what attacks Digimon are strong or weak to, as well as influence Digivolution requirements. And The Nature Spirits (ネイチャースピリッツ, Neichā Supirittsu?) family, abbreviated as "NSp", originally translated as "Spirits of Nature" on Bo-211, and translated as "Neture Spirits" in promotional material for Digimon Pendulum Color, consists of members who are generic animal or monster-like Digimon, or those who dwell in desert-like areas. It first appeared in Booster 1 of the Digital Monster Card Game and as Digimon Pendulum I: Nature Spirits. Members of this family are generally of the Earth element, and are weak to the Fire. And The Deep Savers (ディープセイバーズ, Dīpu Seibāzu?) family, abbreviated as "DS" and originally translated as "Savers of the Deep Blue" on Bo-214, consists of generally aquatic or polar Digimon, or those who dwell in marine areas. It first appeared in Booster 1 and as Digimon Pendulum II: Deep Savers. Members of this family are generally of the Water element, and are weak to the Steel. And the, The Nightmare Soldiers (ナイトメアソルジャーズ, Naitomea Sorujāzu?) family, abbreviated as "NSo" and originally translated as "Soldiers of Nightmares" on Bo-215, consists of generally demonic or undead Digimon, or those who dwell in haunted areas. It first appeared in Booster 1 and as Digimon Pendulum III: Nightmare Soldiers. Members of this family are generally of the Dark element, and are weak to the Light. And there are The Wind Guardians (ウィンドガーディアンズ, Windo Gādianzu?) family, abbreviated as "WG" and originally translated as "Guardians of the Wind" on Bo-212, consists of generally avian or flying Digimon, or those who dwell in grassy or lofty areas. It first appeared in the Starter Ver. 1 and as Digimon Pendulum IV: Wind Guardians. Members of this family are generally of the Wind element, and are weak to the Thunder. And there are also The Metal Empire (メタルエンパイア, Metaru Enpaia?) family, abbreviated as "ME" and originally translated as "Empires of Precious Metals" on Bo-211, consists of generally mechanical or mutated Digimon, or those who dwell in urban areas. It first appeared in Booster 1 and as Digimon Pendulum V: Metal Empire. Members of this family are generally of the Steel element, and are weak to the Water. And The Virus Busters (ウィルスバスターズ, Wirusu Basutāzu?) family, abbreviated as "VB", are generally sacred or angelic Digimon, or those who dwell in holy areas. It first appeared in Booster 11 and as Digimon Pendulum 0: Virus Busters. Members of this family are generally of the Light element, and are weak to the Dark element. They are a group of justice. And there are also The Dragon's Roar (ドラゴンズロア, Doragonzu Roa?) family, abbreviated as "DR", consists of generally draconic Digimon, or those who dwell in volcanic areas. It first appeared in Evolve.1 and as Digimon Pendulum Progress I: Dragon's Roar. Members of this family are generally of the Fire element, and are weak to the Earth and there are also the, The Jungle Troopers (ジャングルトルーパーズ, Janguru Torūpāzu?) family, abbreviated as "JT", are generally insectoid or vegetation Digimon, or those who dwell in tropical areas. It first appeared in Evolve.2. Members of this family are generally of the Thunder element, and are weak to the Wind. And Some Digimon also lack families altogether. Cards of this type first appeared in Starter Ver. 7. Digimon types: As another form of classification, all Digimon species are given a "Type". A Digimon's type is a loose categorization based on general characteristics such as physical appearance—e.g., Agumon is a "Reptile type" Digimon. A Digimon species is usually classified into only one type. Some types, such as "Insectoid type", include dozens of Digimon, whilst others, such as "Ancient Insectoid type" are unique to only a single Digimon (in this case, AncientBeetlemon). Like the family classification, type is considered to be a fairly trivial and unimportant classification. It has some minor gameplay effects in the Digimon card game. Type is referenced occasionally in the anime, particularly when a new Digimon species is introduced, but has little bearing on the action of the show.

Its main infantry is composed of Commandramon,[1] but those who pass the "Selection-D" test, the top 1%, are selected to become the Sealsdramon used for assassinating "Targets".[2] Many of the Commandramon who don't pass "Selection-D" will digivolve into Hi-Commandramon whose main role is to act as a shield, protecting the Commandramon assault troops with its massive build and protective armor.[3] Tankdramon, who specialize in group "Target" extermination, are used for riot-suppression and assault-extermination,[4] and the sole Tankdramon to have been shot down during a sortie is believed to have been retrieved from its failed operation to eliminate "Codename: BAN-TYO" and brought back to a D-Brigade research facility, where it digivolved into what became the D-Brigade's weapon of last resort, Darkdramon, before escaping.[5] Darkdramon's escape caused a major fiasco, and the D-Brigade, after reflecting upon their failure to produce a singularly unique and supremely powerful Digimon to represent their organization, developed and digivolved Brigadramon.[6] Leaked development data from the D-Brigade is also thought to have been incorporated into NightChiropmon. And In missions, Brigadramon circles over the mission area, seeking out and destroying threats on the ground or at low altitudes. After all major threats have been eradicated, a Cargodramon will descend and deploy Commandramon, Hi-Commandramon, and Tankdramon on the ground. Brigadramon will continue to circle the skies above until the mission is complete, giving commands to the deployed units and searching for enemies.[6] Cargodramon contains a cargo hold in its fuselage, which on a typical mission is used to transport a squadron of five Commandramon and one Hi-Commandramon. It is also capable of transporting a single Tankdramon by suspending wires beneath it when the cargo hold is empty. Cargodramon is also used as a ground control measure while the troops are being deployed as well as if a close combat situation arises due to unforeseen circumstances.[8] Due to the improvement of its operational success rate and a significant drop in the number of lost troops, the D-Brigade, having temporarily lost face due to the prior fiasco, has begun to restore its former reputation with the deployment of Brigadramon. Reports indicate that there are three Brigadramon currently in service, with this number expected to increase in the future.[6] In addition to the aforementioned mentioned troops, there are also candidates who have not yet been inducted to the corps. The Deva are followers of the Digimon Sovereigns, and each Sovereign has three Deva subordinates. The Deva share many similarities beyond their basis. Nearly all of the Deva have three horns and red eyes, and each wears Chinese-styled armor with a red or purple scarf. Each of the Deva wields a signature weapon which is named in Chinese, with the form "Bǎo X" (宝X? lit. "Treasure X"), where "X" is a generic type of weapon. Although the Twelve Heavenly Generals of Buddhist mythology were each armed with a specific weapon, some of these are switched around for the Deva Digimon. For example, the generals Śaṇḍilya and Indra wield a shell and a lance, respectively, while Sandiramon and Indramon wield a lance and a shell, respectively. Finally, each Deva's Special Move is named after one of the Naraka mentioned in the Vishnu Purana, which usually has some relation either to the Deva's zodiac animal or weapon. and by Using the data of deleted Digimon, the Sovereign created the Deva to be their servants. Lionheart Some time after the "Catalyst" was disguised as Calumon and hidden in the Real World by Azulongmon, Zhuqiaomon sent the Deva to search for the lost entity, as well as to conquer the world of humans he so loathed. They were at first unable to enter the human world, but when Yamaki activated the Juggernaut against the various Digimon invading the town, it unintentionally damaged the boundary between the worlds, creating a warp which allowed nine of the Devas, Mihiramon, Sandiramon, Sinduramon, Pajiramon, Vajramon, Indramon, Makuramon, Kumbhiramon and Vikaralamon, to make their way into the region surrounding Tokyo, causing untold devastation to the city. Eight of the nine Deva were destroyed, but Makuramon manages to discover and abduct Calumon after going undercover disguised as a human child and, with the intervention of his master, he survives and successfully escapes the Real World, returning to the Digital World as the worlds once again stabilize. To rescue their friend, the Tamers are forced to pursue him to the Digital World, which also brings them into contact with the four surviving Deva. While three of these four, Makuramon, Majiramon and Caturamon, maneuver to bring Calumon to Zhuqiaomon while also eliminating the human threat, Antylamon befriends the human child Suzie Wong and is stripped of her powers as punishment, leading her to become Suzie's partner. Ironically, the conflict between the Tamers and Beelzemon, who had been elevated from Impmon to destroy the humans, claims the lives of the other remaining Deva, leaving the disgraced Lopmon as their only survivor. The Tamers bring Lopmon with them as a go-between when they enter Zhuqiaomon's palace to retrieve Calumon, but the Sovereign has no intention of releasing their friend. The Olympos XII manage the Digital World: Iliad, which exists on a different Server from the Digital World ruled by Yggdrasill; however, they possess ability rivaling that of the Royal Knights,[4] so the knights have not felt the need to personally interfere in Iliad's affairs.[5] The members of Olympos XII protect their own domains while maintaining a position of neutrality regarding the incidents which arise in the Digital World,[4] but some Digimon with a similar goal, like Plutomon, are excluded from their number due to their cruelty in its pursuit.[6] The forces that defy the will of the Olympos XII and oppose them in battle are never-ending,[7] to the point that the hatred of the Digimon they've defeated has been reborn as Titamon, who seeks to have their heads. Royal base: The mysterious Royal Base (ローヤルベース, Rōyaru Bēsu?) is a secret, floating honey base inhabited by FanBeemon and its brethren and located in the skies of the Skuld Terminal. It was designed and developed through the scientific and engineering expertise of QueenBeemon, who the hive reveres as its sovereign queen, and praises as it rides the "Royal Throne", a secret weapon that can channel the Base's energy into massive firepower. The Base is under constant construction, so the FanBeemon are tasked with collecting field data like flowers and plants to use as materials, while the ForgeBeemon are tasked to toil away day and night to bond these materials with their honey adhesive, and to rescue FanBeemon when they get stuck to the materials. QueenBeemon solely manages the hive's powerful defensive and offensive formations to prevent anyone from getting close, and the FanBeemon can summon the hive for assistance when threatened. Because of this, the purpose of the construction is currently a mystery, even to many of the workers. As an airborne base, it is surrounded by danger on all sides, so Waspmon are in charge of security, constantly patrolling the vicinity on the lookout for approaching Digimon and driving off any that do, while CannonBeemon serve as the long-range lookout, using the vast range of their arms containers to cover the entire surrounding area. Meanwhile, the elite Vespamon serve as the "Royal Guard", who are charged with protecting QueenBeemon and the base's vital facilities, even at the cost of death. The top 0.08% of the Royal Guard digivolve to TigerVespamon and join the covert honey corps, the "Royal Commandos", granting them codenames. Furthermore, each of the Royal Knights possesses a dogma that it believes in.[18] Each of the Royal Knights also has an X-Antibody forms, and may have additional alternate Modes, which are still considered Royal Knights. The final member of the Royal Knights, acquired its title through frequent, rigorous training at the direction of Gankoomon, its sponsor. They are primarily based on the "Princes of Hell" in Peter Binsfeld's "Princes of Hell",[3] also called the "Seven Archdemons" in modern occultism.[4] Digimon replaces two of Binsfeld's princes with other demons popular in Judeo-Christian mythology, and several characteristics of the members are drawn from John Milton's Paradise Lost[5] and the anonymous grimoires Clavicula Solomonis Regis[6] and Arbatel de magia veterum.[7] There are also two "Super Demon Lords" who are closely related to the group. The Seven Great Demon Lords are the chief nobility of the Dark Area and each member has the right to command legions of the "Nightmare Soldiers", if they so wish.[8] They are also able to subvert the cycle of reincarnation presided over by Anubismon—instead of having the chance to be reborn, the data of their victims becomes their own flesh and blood.[9] Despite their might, certain other demonic Digimon, such as GranDracmon, are powerful enough to stand outside their authority.[10] Some other Demon Lords such as MaloMyotismon are rumored to be part of this group, but are not members.[11] The group has a natural rivalry with the Royal Knights. Their heirs, the modern Ten Legendary Warriors, are divided both into two subgroups defined by their alignment, and into ten subgroups defined by the Ancient Digimon whose legacy they continue. Each of these ten subgroups consists of at least one Human Hybrid-level Digimon and one Beast Hybrid-level Digimon,[8] and sometimes includes the Warrior's Rookie-level form, a half-beast, half-man Digimon produced when their Human forms lose power, their Hybrid-level Fusion-species (融合種, Yūgou-shu?),[9] which has inherited all the might of that attribute's original Warriors by combining its Human and Beast Spirits,[10] or additional Human and Beast forms. The Warriors of Flame and Light also each have a Hybrid-level Transcendent-species (超越種, Chouetsu-shu?),[11] who possess power that has surpassed even the might of the original Ten Legendary Warriors by combining the Spirits of five different attributes together. And the warriors of wind contain both a human digimon spirit and a beast digimon spirit and they digimon spirits of the warriors of wind are the following: kazemon, zephyrmon

Warriors of wood: The original Ten Legendary Warriors (十闘士, Juttoushi?, lit. "Ten Warriors"), also known as the Ancient Ten Warriors (古代十闘士, Kodai Juttoushi?) or retaining its original name as Ten Warriors, were a group of ten Mega-level Ancient Digimon possessing ultimate strength[5] that existed only in the distant past and represent the ten elemental attributes. The group fought to save the ancient Digital World from Lucemon, and in their past crusade against it, only AncientGreymon and AncientGarurumon survived to the end to seal the angel away. Each of them passed on their abilities to various Digimon Types[6], and their might to the thirty-two Variable-attribute Digimon who inherited their Spirits and title. Their heirs, the modern Ten Legendary Warriors, are divided both into two subgroups defined by their alignment, and into ten subgroups defined by the Ancient Digimon whose legacy they continue. X-antibody: The X-Antibody (X抗体, X-Kōtai?), stylized in some materials as X Antibody or X Anti-body, is a plot element from Digital Monster X-Evolution, Digimon Chronicle, Digimon Chronicle X, Digimon D-Cyber, and the related virtual pets and card games. It is a vaccine that makes Digimon immune to the X-Program. The X-Antibody often grants additional beneficial mutations. Species who have acquired these mutations are differentiated from their original forms by the suffix "X" or "X-Antibody", and exhaust their supply of X-Antibody over time. Therefore, they must continuously replenish their X-Antibody to prevent reversion to their original forms, which incentivizes an intensified battle for resources among the surviving Digimon.[1] Some species are innate carriers of the X-Antibody, lacking an "original form", and naturally generate their own X-Antibody without needing to acquire or replenish it. Carriers of the X-Antibody, whether innate or acquired, frequently display common features, including Interfaces, As'ma Green, or "X"-shaped features on their body. Individual species mutated by the X-Antibody will often be generally stronger than their original form, often with empowered techniques or weapons, but some also demonstrate changes in Level or Attribute. When the Digital World became so overpopulated, the super computer that governs the Digital World, King Drasil, wasn't able to handle it anymore. His solution was to wipe out the vast majority of the Digimon with the X-Program, and choose a very small percentage to be moved to a new Digital World, and destroy the old one. Those who were not chosen but still survived and moved to the new world had a rare gift known as the X-Antibody. This antibody, when activated, changed their appearance and strength. The X-Antibody Indicator (X抗体インジケーター, X-Kōtai Indikētā?), also referred to as the XAI System (XAIシステム, Sai Shisutemu?) is a system which displays the status of the X-Antibodies. If the XAI system is activated, via the Pendulum X, and it detects the X-Antibody present, it will begin to alter the Digimon itself, resulting in an X-Antibody Digimon. The X Digimon fled to the NEW Digital World, and King Drasil sent the Royal Knights to eliminate them. The X-Program was unable to affect the Dark Area due to it being on a separate layer to the Digital World. The X-Program (Xプログラム, X-Puroguramu?) is a termination program initiated by King Drasil to eliminate 98% of Digimon as a result of the exponential growth of Digimon causing the Digital World to reach maximum capacity. When the X-Program was executed by King Drasil, 98% of the total Digimon population was eliminated. The remaining 2% were transferred to the NEW Digital World where the X-Program could not reach them. However, a minority number of Digimon strong enough to resist the effects of the X-Program were able to survive by changing their DigiCores. The Digimon were reborn in a form that could take in the X-Program and eventually it came to a point where a program that opposed the X-Program was installed into the DigiCore—the X-Antibody.

Digimon card game mechanics and rules: Set-Up To start the battle, each player selects one Rookie-level Digimon card from their 30 card deck and places it face down in the Duel Zone. The players then shuffle the rest of their deck and draw 10 cards from it, placing the remaining cards in the Online Zone. Then, each player flips over their Digimon card. Digivolve Phase If either player has a Digimon that Digivolves from their current Digimon, they place it face down on the Digivolve Zone. You can tell if a card Digivolves from a Digimon if the Digimon in the Duel Zone has its name inside the box below the new Digimon's level. Then, the players flip a coin to see who Digivolves first. Whoever goes first starts by flipping over the card in the Digivolve Zone and places it on top of the card in the Duel Zone. The turn is finished by fulfilling any requirements that need to be fulfilled, such as sending cards from your hand to the Offline Zone, placing a Digivice in the Power Port, or even DNA Digivolving by placing the other Digimon detailed on the card on the Power Port. After this player is done, the player going second has the option to either Digivolve their own Digimon, or, they can simply end their turn without Digivolving by moving the card in the Digivolve Zone, if any, to the Offline Zone. Players who cannot Digivolve must pass, and if both players pass, than they proceed straight to the Battle Phase. In addition, each player can only Digivolve once per round, so whatever you Digivolve into you are stuck with until the next Digivolve Phase or until it is sent Offline. Battle Phase Whoever won the coin flip in the Digivolve Phase starts the players off in playing Power Option cards on the Power Port, with each player alternating playing their Power Option cards. Every Power Option card has an effect to try and give you an edge over your opponent, such as power boosts or other effects. Some Power Option cards have requirements to use, similar to Digivolving. You must fulfill these requirements before the Power Option card will take effect. Players continue to play Power Option cards until they run out or until one player passes. Then, the remaining player can continue playing Power Option cards until they run out or decide to finish. Now players calculate how much power their Digimon has. The Digimon with the most power wins. To start, each player identifies the color of their opponents Digimon, which is either red, green, or yellow, all shown in the box in the upper left corner of the card. Then, you match your opponent's type with the corresponding attack on your card, using the list of attacks and the colored symbol next to the attack. Next, you add up all of the Power Option effects to the players' Digimon, and finally apply any effects that would affect the power levels. Whoever wins the fight scores points based on the levels of the defeated Digimon. A scale is on the card that will help determine how many points you get. Those points are then added to the winner's score counter. After the fight, all Power Option cards are sent Offline, unless it says otherwise, and the loser's Digimon cards, except for the Rookie are also sent Offline. However, if there is a tie, no points are scored and both players keep their Digimon in the Duel Zone, although all Power Option cards are still sent Offline. Whoever wins goes first in the next fight, and the players continue playing until one player has reached the agreed upon number of points (usually 1,000.) Regrouping First, both players return their hand to ten cards by drawing from their deck in the Online Zone. Players may also discard cards Offline in order to draw new ones as well. If there are no more cards left in the Online Deck, discard all of your cards on your side of the field Offline, except for your Rookie Digimon, and shuffle the pile, and place it face down in the Online Zone as your new deck, then draw the rest of your cards. This is done at any time your deck goes down to zero. Next, both players have the option of changing their Rookie. To do this, players place a new Rookie face down over their current Digimon and send all cards underneath that Digimon's highest current evolution Offline. At this point, you begin the round at the Digivolve phase with either the winner of the last fight going first, or, if the fight ended in a tie, the person who went first last time goes first again.

It takes time for him to learn how to be a leader, but eventually he grows into the unifying force that leads all the other DigiDestined and keeps them together. As a teenager, Tai acts like the mellow and experienced mentor to the new Digidestined. He is less brash but still easygoing. He usually smirks. Tai is very close to Kari and very protective of her, in part because of their past experiences. On her part, Kari idolizes Tai and confides in him even when they are older. Tai's oldest friend is Sora Takenouchi, who has been in the same class as him since the first grade. In elementary school, they are both regulars in the soccer club. His closest friend is Koushiro "Izzy" Izumi, who he met at the soccer club. He is a deeply caring person who will do anything for a friend and is very protective of his loved ones. He is prone to second-guessing and self-deprecation when he cannot protect others—his self-worth hinges on his ability to be a good friend. Unlike Tai, who is more willing to look at the "big picture", sometimes to the detriment of his friends, Matt always tries to focus on the good of his small circle of friends. As a teenager, he is more laid-back and easygoing and is more willing to support his friends risking themselves against enemy Digimon. However, he still reacts strongly when his friends are under pressure, such as when the news depicted the team's Digimon as monsters, and Tai became reluctant to defend their reputation due to fears about possible casualties. He is also a good singer. Iron Vegiemon A Very Digi-Christmas Matt's younger brother, Takeru "T.K." Takaishi, is also one of the eight DigiDestined, but their parents are divorced and so they cannot spend much time together.[9] He is very protective of T.K. and often acts harshly when T.K. is in trouble. He exemplifies friendship in the utter lengths he goes to help Matt but not let him go down the spiral of self destruction. But his loyalty to Matt, even to the point of betraying others, shows a significant amount of blind faith as well. As Matt's partner, Gabumon frequently fights to defend T.K. as well. Gabumon is fiercely protective of his appearance without his pelt, not wanting to be seen without it, which causes Matt to speak up in his defense more than once.
