She is one of the most well-known and iconic superheroines in comic book history.

She is an ancient Amazon and the princess of Themyscira (a island nation of Amazons ruled by her mother Queen Hippolyta), who fights crime with aid from her bullet-proof wristbands, magical-lasso and superhuman-strength, and the ability to fly. She is also a founding member of the Justice League.

History: Diana was the first born on Paradise Island to Queen Hippolyta, who placed all of the souls of women who were murdered by man on the island. Diana was molded by clay when Hippolyta was instructed to in the late twentieth century, having been the soul that belonged to the unborn child of the first woman who was murdered by a man. The Greek Goddesses and Gods Athena, Demeter, Artemis, Aphrodite, Hestia and Hermes granted Diana gifts, such as strength, beauty, flight, wisdom, and courage. Diana was raised around Amazons, and when the Gods tasked the Amazons with sending one of their own into Man's World, and Diana won the contest held by her mother. Before going, she was given the Lasso of Truth, a weapon that forced anyone captured by it to admit the truth, and Sandals of Hermes, which allowed her to travel to great distances in seconds.

Becoming Wonder Woman: Being sent to man's world, Diana was tasked with promoting peace and equality, but part of it was involved with stopping a plot by Ares, the Greek God of war. In Boston, she met Steve Trevor, Etta Candy, and Julia and Vanessa Kapatelis, and was later given the title "Wonder Woman" when she defeated Ares' minion, Decay. Diana then managed to stop Ares' plot to cause a nuclear holocaust, and returned home to receive healing from Poseidon. Diana would return and became a popular superheroine to the public, and later became a founding member of the Justice League of America alongside Superman, Batman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and Martian Manhunter. During her tenure as a superheroine, Wonder Woman became the mentor of Donna Troy, who became her sidekick known as Wonder Girl. When her apprentice became a founding member of the Teen Titans, Wonder Woman supported her sidekick alongside Superman Batman, Aquaman, and the Flash.

Wonder Woman would become a great foe to many supervillains, such as Barbara Minevra, who desired to steal the Lasso of Truth from her. Minerva lied to Diana that she found the Girdle of Antiope, and when Diana learned of Barbara's trickery, the two women battled. Minevra turned into the Cheetah, and Diana managed to defeat the supervillainess, and returned to Paradise Island after their fight. She would then battle Silver Swan, a damaged woman who was manipulated and augmented to battle the Amazon, and she evaded Diana by escaping. When the immortal sorceress Circe emerged, she sent her minions to capture Diana, and the supervillainess explained her history of killing Hippolyta's sister.
