It was a conspiracy headed by forces hostile to the Noscrim faction, who had nurtured a grudge against “the Three Musketeers of Lescatie” for quite some time. They had somehow procured evidence that Aramelia was a monster, and made their appeal directly to Lescatie’s senate, resulting in a cold-blooded decision that even the authority of Father Noscrim himself could not overturn. While she awaited the hour of her execution in a cold and dank cell, Aramelia, all alone, offered prayers of penitence to the gods, confronting her own feelings. Somewhere deep in her heart, she knew that someday a day like this would come.

The fulfilling life she led as a “hero” was all just a farce. That voice of God she had heard before she took up the sword had been silent ever since she joined the Knights of the Holy Ice Flower. With every “heroic” military campaign she carried out, her suspicions of the Order deepened.
When she went to the settlement where she was told villagers and monsters conspired to carry out some evil ritual, she found monsters and humans trying to support each other in the land’s barren soil. When she was dispatched to the little farm village where her superiors assured her humans with weapons had been brainwashed by monsters and were plotting a rebellion, the monsters were defending the town from bandits. She had convinced herself that all those peaceful moments she had personally seen between monsters and humans were simply acts of deception, and yet every time she pointed her sword at the wicked creatures she had fully believed to have been the enemy of her own parents, everyone, both human and monster, seemed so terribly sad.
“Perhaps I truly am a wicked monster…”
Even though she now realized the truth, even though she knew she had made terrible mistakes, she also knew that if she were to renounce being a hero, she would be separated from her comrades— and from you, her dear squire.
I don’t want to be separated from the people I care about anymore— and for that self-centered reason alone, she happily played the hero, and as a result, brought sadness to countless others. As if to deceive herself, Aramelia tried hard to act her role with all of the extravagance and dazzle she could, creating a fantasy that she did not want for a single thing in her life. When the bright sun fell and the lonely moon rose, it became too painful and difficult to bear; it was for that reason that she made you, the one who she trusts most in this world, accompany her all those nights. It was only by using your presence as support that she could stand it all. If the result of all of that selfishness, Aramelia reasoned, was her own execution, then it was a just punishment.
However, it was on that very day that Lescatie was taken by monsters. The very night, in fact, that Aramelia’s execution was to be carried out in utmost secrecy in that cold, lightless basement.
Who was Aramelia, hanging on a cross[2] and fully accepting her own death, to see in that moment but you, who came to rescue you without a single regard for your own standing. Her spirit, only seconds ago so prepared to die, began to soar, and within moments, she had managed to draw her sword and was fighting back-to-back with you. The new monsters of the Knights of the Holy Ice Flower had also rushed into the fray to assist Aramelia, but what shocked her more than anything else was that, there with her transformed friends, were two achingly familiar faces— her parents. Her mother was a high-ranking monster regarded as nobility, a vampire.
When everything had settled, Aramelia was finally able to speak to her parents for the first time in years, and it was then she learned the truth, that it was the Order who had attacked their town. That her parents had been looking for their abducted daughter this whole time. That it was only by Druella’s preparations for the invasion of Lescatie that she had been discovered. And, that she was the fruit of the love between a vampire mother and a human father.
In the new mamono realm nation of Lescatie, Aramelia spends every day having sex with you, cultivating your love together. Somewhat different from her colleagues, whose minds were perverted by monsterization, she remains largely the same, but the capital city that had transformed into an obscene monster metropolis is quite comfortable to live in, and has made her aware once more that she had been a monster from the start, a being who lives for love and pleasure.
From now on, I will only ever raise my blade for those I love. At the very moment she thought those words, she could hear the voice of God echo in her head for the first time in years.
“May you live happily ever after.”
