Summary Episode 1: Inferno A demonic terrorist known as the White Rabbit orchestrates a heist at the Vatican City Museum to steal the Force Edge, a powerful sword once wielded by the legendary demon Sparda. The White Rabbit eliminates his hired thieves and announces his plan to destroy the barrier between Hell and Earth. Meanwhile, the U.S. government, through the interdimensional security firm DARKCOM led by Vice President William Baines, learns that the White Rabbit seeks Sparda's magical amulet, split into two halves. Information broker Enzo Ferino reveals that the Rabbit is searching for a hunter named Dante, who possesses one half of the amulet. Dante confronts a shapeshifting demon named Plasma, who attempts to steal his amulet but fails. Episode 2: Descent Baines hires mercenaries to capture Dante and retrieve the amulet, placing DARKCOM agent Mary Ann Arkham, nicknamed "Lady," in charge. Lady identifies and eliminates a demon among the mercenaries. Enzo is coerced into luring Dante, but Dante sees through the ploy and refuses to relinquish the amulet, a keepsake from his mother. After defeating multiple mercenaries, Dante engages in combat with Lady, who suspects he is a human-demon hybrid. Using advanced technology, Lady subdues Dante, leading to his capture by DARKCOM. Episode 3: The Devil's Bargain A flashback reveals Mary's family surviving a demon attack, with her father, John, becoming a pariah for warning authorities. In the present, Dr. Fisher examines Dante's amulet. Baines offers Dante a chance to cleanse his demonic blood by working for the government, but Dante attributes his abilities to a mutation. The White Rabbit and his enforcers ambush the prison convoy transporting Dante, stealing the second half of the amulet. Despite fusing both halves, the Rabbit refrains from enacting his plan, indicating he needs something more. He kills Fisher, wounds Anders, and takes Enzo hostage. Dante pursues but is nearly killed when a DARKCOM-implanted bomb explodes. The Rabbit reveals that Dante is Sparda's son. Dante and Enzo are held captive on Baines' hijacked plane. Baines remains confident in his divine protection, while Dante denies his demonic heritage. The White Rabbit lures DARKCOM into a trap, resulting in a massacre by his enforcers Cavaliere and Echidna. Lady survives and, while evading the demons, encounters a family of demon refugees who fled Hell seeking refuge. She spares them, reconsidering her stance on demons. Dante battles Agni and Rudra, unlocking his true powers by recalling his childhood. He kills Agni, and Rudra retaliates by destroying the plane. Episode 5: The Devil Within Lady continues to evade demons and discovers a lab where the White Rabbit conducts experiments on other demons. She reunites with a colleague, unaware that Plasma has assumed his identity. Upon realizing the deception, she offers information on DARKCOM to Plasma in exchange for her life. Echidna ambushes them, but Lady kills her using demon-killing bullets. Disillusioned by Baines' orders to kill demon refugees, Plasma commits suicide by destroying the lab. Dante, embracing his demonic form, saves Enzo, Baines, and other hostages. He continues his fight with Rudra, who is ultimately killed by Lady. Dante acknowledges his demonic heritage, and he and Lady agree to work together to find the amulet. Lady deduces that the Rabbit needs Dante's blood to destroy the barrier. Episode 6: The First Circle Lady infiltrates the White Rabbit's lair, encountering various demons and confronting her past. She discovers that her father, John Arkham, is alive but transformed into a demon. Lady battles through the lair, facing off against the White Rabbit's enforcers and confronting her own inner demons. She ultimately defeats her father, gaining closure and strengthening her resolve to stop the White Rabbit. Episode 7: At the Gates of Paradise Dante and Lady prepare for a final assault on the White Rabbit's stronghold. They face numerous challenges, including battling hordes of demons and navigating treacherous terrain. Along the way, they uncover the White Rabbit's plan to use Dante's blood to activate the amulet and destroy the barrier between Hell and Earth. The episode ends with Dante and Lady confronting the White Rabbit, setting the stage for the final showdown. Episode 8: Kingdom Come The White Rabbit kills Bloodstryke and consumes him, transforming into a monstrous form. The U.S. military arrives to contain the situation, with Baines blaming Arkham for the chaos. Dante and Lady engage in a fierce battle against the transformed White Rabbit. In the destruction, Enzo is murdered saving Dante, and the gates if hell briefly open, but Dante defeats the White Rabbit and closes the gates of hell in time so there are no casualties. Dante ultimately defeats the Rabbit, preventing the destruction of the barrier. Meanwhile, Baines uses a device of the White Rabbit that opens into hell, and attacks, placing a research prison inside hell. Meanwhile, DARKCOM captures Dante and uses him for experimentation regardless, with a cliffhanger revealing Vergil's alive, breaking into the awaiting a season 2. Main Characters Dante (voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch) Dante is portrayed as a young, rebellious demon hunter with a cocky attitude and a penchant for sarcasm. He sports a red leather trench coat, silver hair, and wields dual pistols named Ebony and Ivory. Initially unaware of his demonic heritage, Dante's journey involves uncovering his true identity as the son of Sparda and embracing his powers to prevent the apocalypse. Mary Ann "Lady" Arkham (voiced by Scout Taylor-Compton) Lady is a skilled DARKCOM lieutenant with a complex past, being the daughter of John Arkham, a man who once attempted to become a demon himself. She has short black hair, a stern demeanor, and is known for her precision with firearms. Throughout the series, Lady grapples with her family's dark history while forging an uneasy alliance with Dante to stop the White Rabbit. The White Rabbit (voiced by Hoon Lee) A demonic terrorist with a flamboyant style, the White Rabbit seeks to merge the human and demon realms. He dons a white suit with a rabbit mask, exuding charisma and menace. His ultimate goal is to destroy the barrier between Hell and Earth, using Sparda's amulet and Dante's blood to achieve this end. William Baines (voiced by Kevin Conroy) As the Vice President of the United States and head of DARKCOM, Baines is a manipulative and fanatical leader. He believes in a divine mission to cleanse the world of demons, often resorting to extreme measures. Baines wears formal suits and maintains a composed exterior, masking his ruthless nature. Enzo Ferino (voiced by Chris Coppola) Enzo is an information broker who assists Dante in finding work. He is characterized by his street-smart attitude, quick wit, and loyalty to Dante. Enzo often provides comic relief but proves resourceful in critical situations. Supporting Characters Dr. Fisher (voiced by Zeke Alton) A paranormal scientist working for DARKCOM, Dr. Fisher is analytical and dedicated to understanding demonic phenomena. He wears lab coats and glasses, embodying the stereotypical scientist. Fisher's research plays a pivotal role in uncovering the White Rabbit's plans. Anders (voiced by Benjamin Abiola) A newly recruited DARKCOM agent, Anders is eager and idealistic. He sports tactical gear and is committed to the agency's mission. Anders' experiences in the field challenge his perceptions of demons and humanity. King (voiced by Sunkrish Bala) King is a seasoned DARKCOM agent known for his strategic mind and leadership skills. He wears standard agency attire and often serves as a mentor to younger agents. King's decisions significantly impact the team's dynamics. Ninja (voiced by Fryda Wolff) A stealth specialist within DARKCOM, Ninja is agile and precise. Clad in sleek, dark uniforms, she excels in reconnaissance missions. Ninja's quiet demeanor masks her fierce dedication to the cause. Patriot (voiced by Leilani Barrett) Patriot is a patriotic DARKCOM agent who embodies the agency's ideals. He wears military-inspired gear and is known for his unwavering commitment to protecting humanity. Patriot often clashes with colleagues over differing methodologies. Sentry (voiced by Tina Majorino) Sentry is a vigilant DARKCOM agent responsible for surveillance and security. She is methodical and detail-oriented, often monitoring missions from control rooms. Sentry's insights are crucial for mission success. Lesser Antagonists Echidna (voiced by Kari Wahlgren) Echidna is a plant-serpent demon serving the White Rabbit. She has a serpentine lower body with vine-like appendages and a humanoid upper body adorned with floral motifs. Echidna is seductive and manipulative, using her abilities to ensnare victims. Plasma (voiced by Roger L. Jackson) A shapeshifting demon, Plasma can assume various forms, including those of trusted individuals. His true form is amorphous and translucent, often shimmering with electric hues. Plasma is cunning and deceptive, exploiting emotional vulnerabilities. Cavaliere (voiced by Jason Marnocha) Cavaliere is a demon knight clad in heavy armor, wielding a massive sword. He is fiercely loyal to the White Rabbit and exhibits a chivalrous yet brutal demeanor. Cavaliere's combat prowess makes him a formidable adversary. Agni and Rudra (voiced by Zeno Robinson & Imari Williams) Agni and Rudra are twin elemental demons who serve as enforcers for the White Rabbit. Bound by an unbreakable fraternal bond, they speak in sync and often finish each other’s sentences—though they bicker constantly over who is stronger. Their designs are visually striking: Agni is fiery and warm-toned, with glowing red-orange armor, molten cracks on his arms, and a flaming sword that leaves embers in its wake. Rudra, in contrast, has a stormy, bluish aesthetic with whorls of silver and azure streaks across his body, wielding a wind-infused blade that howls with each swing. In combat, they are relentless and synchronized, performing devastating tag-team attacks that combine flame and gale forces. Despite their fearsome power, they possess a sense of honor, challenging Dante with respect and acknowledging his strength after defeat. Their comedic interactions—especially their sibling rivalry—offer brief levity in the series’ darker moments. Ultimately, their loyalty lies more in the thrill of combat than in any ideological devotion to the White Rabbit. Dante Alias: Son of Sparda, Demon Hunter, The Merc with a Mouthful of Lead Voiced by: Johnny Yong Bosch Affiliation: Independent (former DARKCOM ally) First Appearance: Devil May Cry (Netflix Series, Episode 1: “The Hunters”) Age: 19 years-old Height 6'1" Overview Dante is the central protagonist of the 2025 Devil May Cry Netflix animated series, reimagined with a sharper modern edge and deeper emotional undertones. A half-human, half-demon mercenary known for hunting supernatural threats, Dante’s character in the series balances chaotic action, sardonic wit, and emotional trauma. He is the son of the legendary demon Sparda and a human woman, Eva, making him a Nephilim hybrid—one of the most powerful beings straddling the mortal and infernal realms. Appearance Dante’s signature look is retained with some gritty revisions: Hair: Silvery-white, parted at the middle, thick, and slightly messy, falling just above his shoulders. Often unkempt, hinting at his careless grooming habits. Eyes: Ice blue, with a devilish glint, often narrowed in sarcasm or battle-ready focus. Clothing: He wears a modernized version of his iconic red leather trench coat, weathered and slightly scorched from countless battles. Underneath is a dark tactical vest, fingerless gloves, fitted combat pants, and heavy boots. He sports a silver crucifix around his neck—a relic of his mother. Weapons: Carries his dual pistols Ebony (black) and Ivory (white), and his sword Rebellion, which he uses with terrifying finesse. Later episodes introduce his demonic motorbike-sword hybrid Cavaliere. Demeanor: Often slouched, chewing a toothpick or lollipop, Dante’s body language is relaxed—even in combat—making his sudden bursts of speed and precision all the more jarring. Personality Dante is the textbook definition of a reckless antihero—cocky, irreverent, and infuriatingly smug. He refers to enemies with sarcastic nicknames and often calls allies by diminutives (e.g., calling Lady “schoolgirl” or “Guns-for-Hire Barbie”). His snark is legendary, and he never misses a chance to throw a joke mid-battle, even if it costs him. Despite the bravado, the series peels back layers of guilt, pain, and trauma, particularly around his family history, the loss of his mother, and his estranged relationship with his twin brother, Vergil (only hinted at in this season). He hates authority (especially DARKCOM bureaucracy), disdains religious zealotry, and rejects the idea of being a “chosen one.” Yet, despite his detachment, he harbors a deep desire to protect innocents—especially children, as shown in his interactions with vulnerable civilians throughout the season. Abilities & Powers As the son of Sparda, Dante possesses powers that rival demon lords: Superhuman Physicality Strength: Can lift and swing colossal weapons, overpower multi-ton demons, and crush reinforced structures with raw force. Speed/Reflexes: Capable of dodging bullets and magic projectiles mid-air, moving faster than the human eye can track. Durability: Survives impalement, point-blank explosions, falls from skyscrapers, and intense demonic assaults with little more than bruises. Devil Trigger A transformation that unlocks Dante’s full demonic potential. In this state: His body becomes larger, armored in obsidian-red demonic plating. Wings of shadow and flame burst from his back. His strength, speed, and regenerative capabilities increase dramatically. His voice becomes deeper and echoed with dual harmonics. Weapons Mastery Rebellion (sword): Signature broadsword, inherited from his father, with a pulsating red glow and soul-severing edge. Ebony & Ivory (guns): Semi-automatic handguns modified for infinite ammo and supernatural piercing power. Capable of juggling enemies mid-air. Cavaliere: Introduced in Episode 6—a demon motorcycle he splits into dual buzz-saw blades with gravitational attacks. Other Abilities Demonic Senses: Can detect hidden demons, illusions, and magical traps. Combat Intuition: Can read opponents’ moves in battle like a chess master. Healing Factor: Recovers from mortal wounds in mere seconds, as a part of his demonic blood. Taunt as a Weapon: His trash talk psychologically destabilizes less disciplined enemies, making them predictable or reckless. Feats in the Netflix Series Episode 3: Defeats an entire swarm of demonic insects inside a collapsing cathedral while protecting civilians. Episode 5: Survives being impaled through the chest by Cavaliere and uses the embedded sword to vault over and decapitate the demon. Episode 7: Fights Echidna in a hallucination-inducing vine dimension and overcomes her reality-warping magic through sheer willpower. Finale: Unlocks a more primal form of Devil Trigger to destroy the White Rabbit's cathedral engine, absorbing near-apocalyptic magic without dying. Relationships Lady: An uneasy partnership; Dante mocks her frequently but respects her skill. Their mutual disdain for DARKCOM forms a quiet alliance. Enzo: Longtime informant and comic relief. Dante tolerates him but keeps him at arm’s length emotionally. Baines: Mutual hatred. Dante sees Baines as a hypocritical tyrant hiding behind a cross. Dr. Fisher: Sees him as "geek with a death wish" but relies on his intel. Vergil: Only hinted at in flashes—Dante keeps a photo of two boys on his dresser, and once mutters "I’m still not the stronger one." Trivia Frequently says: “Bang, you're boring.” – used before executing a final blow. Loves pizza, hates pineapple on it. Keeps a cracked pocket watch that once belonged to his mother. The series subtly hints that Dante’s full power still hasn’t awakened yet. Lady Real Name: Mary Arkham Alias: Lady Voiced by: Erica Lindbeck Affiliation: DARKCOM (initially), Independent (later) First Appearance: Devil May Cry (Netflix Series, Episode 1: “The Hunters”) Age: 18~20 Height: 5'7" Overview Lady is a human demon hunter and former Vatican-trained assassin introduced as a top-tier enforcer for DARKCOM (Demonic Anomaly Reconnaissance and Containment Operations Management). She is cold, calculating, and extremely lethal—often referred to by her peers as “The One-Woman Blitzkrieg.” In contrast to Dante’s chaotic style, Lady is surgical and ruthless. Throughout the season, she undergoes a subtle but compelling arc: from a dogmatic servant of a corrupt institution to a disillusioned warrior fighting for her own code of justice. Appearance Lady’s look in the Netflix series fuses military utility with gothic grace: Hair: Jet black, short pixie cut with razor-sharp fringe—tactical and striking. Eyes: Steel gray, almost silver under moonlight, sharp and always scanning. Clothing: A modified, form-fitting combat uniform with a matte-black armored vest, holsters for sidearms, and a collapsible grappling rig. Her most distinctive piece is a blood-red, high-collared cloak that she wears off one shoulder like a sash. Weapons: Kalina Ann II – A high-powered, shoulder-mounted rocket launcher and anti-demon rail cannon hybrid. Dual pistols and combat knives hidden across her person. Uses electromagnetic grenades, smoke bombs, and demon-sealing darts when necessary. Accessories: A rosary wrapped around her wrist and a silver bullet-shaped locket engraved with a cross—both personal mementos from her past. Personality Lady is stoic, pragmatic, and emotionally restrained. She rarely cracks a smile and speaks with a crisp, clinical cadence. Her humor, when it surfaces, is bone-dry and laced with irony. Having trained her entire life to hunt demons, she holds a deep-rooted belief in self-reliance and purpose—but her rigid faith in authority is shaken over the course of the season. Lady is not afraid to kill—human or demon—if the mission requires it. But she’s not a mindless killer; she follows a strict personal code, honed through loss and betrayal. She doesn’t believe in fate or prophecies, only cause and effect, and looks down on Dante’s recklessness (though she envies his freedom deep down). She often refers to Dante dismissively as “Stray Dog” or “Contract Killer” and mocks his constant quips, though their verbal sparring gradually evolves into a hard-earned respect. In contrast to Dante's flashy showmanship, Lady is the professional. Clean. Efficient. Silent. Abilities & Skills Human Mastery Despite having no demonic lineage like Dante, Lady proves to be one of the most dangerous characters in the series through sheer skill and strategy. Marksmanship: Olympic-level precision with all firearms. Can shoot grenades mid-air, land trick shots off surfaces, and fire her rocket launcher at impossible angles with zero collateral damage. Acrobatics: Trained in parkour, rappelling, close-quarters combat, and battlefield maneuvering. Frequently uses her grappling rig to flank enemies mid-fight. Hand-to-Hand Combat: Though not as strong as a demon, she utilizes pressure points, redirection, and gadget-assisted blows to stun or disable enemies twice her size. Tactical Mind: Able to assess battlefield variables in seconds. She leads operations and, unlike Dante, prefers stealth or sabotage over frontal assault. Kalina Ann II An upgraded version of her iconic launcher. Features: Rocket salvo mode Anti-demon piercing harpoons A built-in demon seal cannon that temporarily disables regenerative abilities Electrified cable hook for melee grapples Character Arc & Role in the Series Lady is introduced as DARKCOM's “cleaner,” sent in to terminate field agents who go rogue or breach protocol. She crosses paths with Dante in Episode 1 and is ordered to monitor him due to his noncompliance. Initially antagonistic, she sees him as a liability—too impulsive, too unprofessional. By Episode 4, Lady begins questioning DARKCOM’s motives, especially when Dr. Fisher leaks intel about Project Astra and the use of demon-imbued children. Her faith shatters in Episode 6, when she discovers DARKCOM’s complicity in demonic black-ops. In the finale, she sides with Dante during the siege on the White Rabbit’s Cathedral, detonating her own command ship to stop a demon incursion through the Vatican vault. Her final scene has her walking away from the ruins, declining an offer from Dante to "stick around" but leaving open the possibility of teaming up again. Feats in the Netflix Series Episode 2: Intercepts and eliminates three demon hybrids using only knives in a collapsing train station. Episode 4: Infiltrates a DARKCOM blacksite alone, uploading confidential data to an off-grid network. Episode 6: Survives a full-on psychic assault from Echidna using mental anchors learned from the Order of Saint Bliss. Finale: Fires Kalina Ann II into a collapsing dimensional rift, holding the line while Dante charges the heart of the Cathedral. Relationships Dante: Tense, competitive dynamic. Opposites in approach but equals in skill. She gradually becomes his moral compass, while he shows her how to rebel for the right reasons. Dr. Fisher: Quiet respect. She trusts his intellect but keeps emotional distance. Enzo: Finds him repulsive and pathetic. Threatens to kill him multiple times. Baines: Once idolized him. Now sees him as a fallen zealot. Their final confrontation ends in silence. Trivia Her original name, Mary, is only mentioned once—when she prays for her father’s soul before assassinating a possessed priest. Kalina Ann II is named after her mother. Her nickname “Lady” was given by Dante mid-mission, and despite hating it, she never corrects him. Her fighting style was inspired by modern military tacticians and real-world female special ops. White Rabbit Real Name: Unknown Alias(es): White Rabbit Voiced by: Hoon Lee Affiliation: Independent First Appearance: Devil May Cry (Netflix Series, Episode 1) Age: ??? Height 6'0" Overview White Rabbit is a formidable 'demon' terrorist who serves as the central antagonist in the first season of Netflix's Devil May Cry series. His primary objective is to dismantle the barrier separating the human world from the demon realm, aiming to unleash an apocalyptic invasion. White Rabbit's actions are driven by a desire for revenge against humanity and a belief in the superiority of demons. Trivia White Rabbit's character originates from the Devil May Cry 3 manga, where he first appeared as an antagonist. His inclusion in the Netflix series marks his first appearance in an animated adaptation of the franchise. Backstory The truth is that The White Rabbit is no demon. As a human child, he was attracted to a portal that took him to Mundus, the Demon Realm. He met a race of friendly dying demons, endangered by poisonous gasses. After his best friend died from these gasses, he became devoted to saving the rce, and returning with them to earth. It was then that DARKCOM massacred the race, leaving The White Rabbit barely alive. The White Rabbit then relied on demon blood to remain alive, stitching a rabbits mask and wearing it, as his favorites childrens story was Alice in Wonderland.
