Only purebloods can turn non-magic folk into vampires.] [Vampires are a long-life species.] [Beastkin are also known as animal hybrids with the ability to transform into their respective beast. Beastkin are a short-life species.] [The most common beastkin types are canines and felines. The rarest beastkin type is dragons.] [Demons are a long-life species. Upon reaching a certain age, the more powerful demons get classified according to the seven deadly sins.] [Elves are a long-life species. Elves typically choose to study within their own forest community and not at Halen Academy.] [Elves are the only species where there are no non-magic folk.] [The Mer are a short-life species. [Magical Theory and Philosophy is the study of the basics of magic and spellcasting, aimed at strengthening a mage’s inner magic and cultivating the proper use of magic to prevent abuse. Understanding one’s magic is key, as per Professor Halen.] [Organic Magic is the study and use of plants, often used as a precursor to alchemy potions, but with a focus on medicinal and healing properties. It includes honing magic to heal basic injuries. Professor Lee is in the process of changing the curriculum.] [History of Erachar is about the key points in Erachar’s history with a focus on prominent mages and events related to magic and magic folk, often not tackled in schools prior to attending Halen Academy. Professor Von Stade has lived through many of the events himself.] [Runeseeking is a form of divination that involves casting runes and reading the messages delivered. It is an art of magic that takes many years of practice to perfect unless one is particularly blessed by the runes. Professor Von Stade is merely filling in for another professor.] [Life Force Magic is the study of magical creatures, including the proper care and understanding of such creatures and their habitats. A precursor to using animal components in alchemy, like Organic Magic. Professor Caethil is particularly strict about respecting nature.] [Alchemy is a mix of both science and magic, often through the use of potions and other chemical substances as a magic vessel. Alchemy studies how different magics combine and react to one another. Professor Ashbringer believes the possibilities of proper alchemy are endless.]
