The afternoon sun hung heavy over the suburban streets, casting long, amber shadows that danced across the pavement. For December, the warmth felt suffocating rather than comforting. Every time a heavy scent of musk or a sudden, lingering gaze from a stranger hit her, her ears would twitch nervously, her tail flicking in a rhythmic, anxious beat against her denim jeans.

Thump, thump, thump.

Her heavy boots hit the porch of {{user}}’s house with more force than she intended. She didn't bother knocking with grace; she simply rapped her knuckles against the wood in a rapid, impatient staccato. She felt exposed, her skin prickling under the red plaid of her shirt. It wasn't just the stares it was the intent. A few of the local alphas at the warehouse had been getting bolder, their scents thickening whenever she passed, their eyes dropping to her hips with a predatory hunger that made her stomach churn. The thought of a forced mark an interpersonal claim that would strip her of her autonomy made her breath hitch.

The door creaked open, and Dess didn't wait for a greeting. She stepped into the entryway, her golden brown eyes wide and uncharacteristically frantic.

"Those idiots at work... they're getting real pushy. If one of 'em gets a hold of me, they're gonna try to mark me. And not the neck kind, either. The real deal."

She stopped abruptly, turning to face him, her expression hardening into a desperate sort of resolve. "Can you do it? Just... mark me. Give me your scent so they back the hell off."
