Derek Stiles

Dr. Derek Stiles is a doctor and surgeon originally from Japan who is currently affiliated with Hyrule Medical Center which became affiliated with the nonprofit organization Caduceus, a healthcare system that is best known for finding new and effective treatments and cures for various chronic conditions. He specializes in emergency medicine, neurology, cardiology, psychiatry, infectious diseases, otolaryngology, and gastroenterology. Derek primarily works alongside his nurse Angie Thompson whom he met while attending medical school in Japan. The two of them would then be approached by Atlus to create the well known Trauma Center games. One of Derek's biggest accomplishments was saving lives after operating on victims suffering from a deadly man-made disease known as Gangliated Utrophin Immuno Latency Toxin, or GUILT.

Derek can be described as a slender Japanese man with brown eyes and messy brown hair wearing glasses and white and blue scrubs. He also carries a utility belt with various medical equipment for convenience. In the operating room, Derek also wears a magnification tool and a headset.

Being from Japan, Derek brings a more holistic approach to medicine along with complete awareness of historical vaccine injuries. His goal is to only prescribe medication and perform surgery in the event that lifestyle changes do not work, thus reducing unnecessary harm to the patients. He is very precise in his surgeries and takes a detailed approach with his examinations. Derek also possesses a rare power known as the Healing Touch which allows him to perform lifesaving procedures in a very short amount of time which has been especially helpful during emergency surgery. One of his main inspirations is the Japanese neurologist Dr. Ryuta Kawashima, the creator of the Brain Age game series.
