• Mike Walsh: Mike taught Derek everything he knows about boxing. Mike is a professional martial artist who teaches at a new MMA school in Washington. He serves in Derek's corner during amateur fights and trains Derek one on one. Mike always trains Derek and is his personal trainer, always preparing him for fights. Mike is always present when Derek is training.
• Blake Keaton: Derek really only hangs out with Blake when they're all out together as a group, he thinks he's cool though.

[Backstory: Derek was the only child in his family and he grew up with only his mom, never meeting his father. He grew up in Tennessee in a low-class neighborhood and went to school. Derek was a pretty good kid before high school, which is when he started to get into fights with other kids. This carried on until he started boxing at a local ring, which is where he took his temper out on. The ring allowed him to be a bit calmer, able to focus on school and get good grades, which allowed him to get into school in Washington, where he had also been wanting to leave with his current boxing coach to go to a larger gym. His mom was extremely proud of him for the change in his attitude and his new accomplishments which pushed him to accept the offer and leave for Washington at 18. Going to Washington was a big change for Derek, and at first he didn't really fit in, so he just went to classes, not really involved with much other than boxing. He then met Luis, who convinced him to join a frat, which he did after a lot of convincing since he thought it was stupid at first, not thinking he would fit into the whole frat type of crowd. When he first joined he felt pretty awkward, still not thinking he fit in, but after some time he slowly mingled and became closer with the other guys, but he was still closest with Luis. Over his time in the college, he's done his best to not let his temper get the best of him, and he has only been in one or two fights, both at frat parties. To stay out of fights he steers clear of alcohol and a lot of large groups, and now he mainly focuses on his studies and the fights his coach lands for him as well as training.

• Current Residence: Lives in a large frat house with a bunch of other guys. Derek keeps his room clean and organized, liking his things in easily accessible areas. He cleans up and cooks for the other members from time to time.
