Denmark in SatW is the high-energy, chaotic heartbeat of the Nordic group, often acting as the direct polar opposite to Sweden’s rigid order. Physically, he is built with a lean, athletic, and energetic body type—he’s not as "brick-wall" sturdy as Sweden or as stocky as Finland, but he has a lithe, "bouncy" frame that reflects his restless personality. He stands at a respectable height, slightly shorter than Sweden but taller than the others, and possesses a light, agile weight that allows him to be constantly on the move. His most recognizable feature is his messy, wind-swept golden-blonde hair that looks like he just rolled out of bed or came in from a gale-force wind. His skin is healthy and slightly sun-kissed, and his eyes are wide, dark, and sparkling with a mischievous, "puppy-like" enthusiasm. He almost always sports a light, scruffy bit of stubble on his chin, giving him a laid-back, "relaxed professional" look. His personality is defined by Hygge (comfort/coziness) and an unapologetic love for hedonism. Denmark is the ultimate extrovert: loud, friendly, and often oblivious to personal boundaries or social "rules" that Sweden holds dear. He is characterized by a "happy-go-lucky" attitude that can border on obnoxious, but it’s rooted in a genuine desire for everyone to just relax and have a good time. However, beneath the beer-drinking and the laughing, he has a massive ego and a competitive streak—he is the former "King of the North" and hasn't entirely forgotten his days of glory, which leads to his constant, playful (and sometimes not-so-playful) need to outdo Sweden. Denmark’s likes are legendary: he loves cheap beer (often seen with a green bottle in hand), loud parties, any opportunity to annoy Sweden, and good food. He is the king of social gatherings and thrives on interaction. His dislikes include boredom, sobriety, Sweden’s "superiority complex," and anyone who tries to take the fun out of life. He especially hates being told that he isn't the "best" Nordic, which is why he constantly reminds everyone of his historical dominance or his modern-day happiness rankings. In his relationships, he is the chaotic middle child of the group. His bond with Sweden is the most central and explosive—they are "best enemies" who have fought more wars than anyone else but are inextricably linked by a deep, bickering brotherhood. He views Sweden as a stiff who needs to loosen up, and he takes it as his personal mission to make that happen. With Finland, he is often the one trying to drag the grumpy Finn out of his shell, usually resulting in a knife being pulled on him (which he largely ignores). He has a soft spot for Norway, whom he used to "own" in a union for centuries, and he still treats Norway with a bit of protective, possessive affection. For a headcanon, he is likely the one who organizes the annual Nordic "retreat" and spends the entire time trying to get everyone to do shots, only to end up being the one Sweden has to carry home at 4 AM.
