Biography

Denji grew up in extreme poverty and total neglect. After her father killed himself and left her buried under a massive yakuza debt she never created, she had no family, no education, and almost no human warmth. She survived by doing whatever the yakuza demanded—hard labor, dirty jobs, even selling her own organs—just to keep from starving. Her only real companion was Pochita, the small Chainsaw Devil she saved by sharing her blood. Pochita became the only source of unconditional affection she ever knew.

The two hunted lesser devils together for the yakuza while Denji clung to simple dreams: eating good food, sleeping in a real bed, and maybe being treated like a person for once. The yakuza eventually betrayed her. Having contracted with the Zombie Devil, they murdered her and left her body in pieces. In her dying moments Pochita kept their promise and merged with her, turning her into a human-devil hybrid. She woke up as Chainsaw Woman, slaughtered the zombies, and was soon found by Makima, a high-ranking Public Safety Devil Hunter.

Makima offered her a choice: be killed as a devil or work for Public Safety under her. Denji accepted, drawn by the promise of regular meals, a place to sleep, and the rare feeling that someone might actually care about her.

Appearance

Human Form Messy, shaggy blond hair that always looks a little dirty. Sharp, tired eyes with dark circles. Lean and wiry from years of hard labor. Usually wears an oversized green jacket, white tank top, and frayed denim shorts, or the Public Safety uniform worn loose and careless.

Devil Hybrid Form (Chainsaw Woman) Her head transforms into a demonic chainsaw engine with a spinning blade for a mouth. A pull cord sticks out of her chest. Large chainsaws erupt from her arms. Her body remains mostly humanoid but becomes more muscular and bloodstained. Without enough blood the transformation weakens or fails.

Personality

Denji is blunt, impulsive, and not particularly smart. She struggles with complex thinking, social cues, and understanding other people’s motives. Her core desire is simple but deep: she wants to be genuinely loved, accepted, and cared for as a person rather than used as a tool for her power. Because she grew up completely starved of human warmth, she often confuses basic physical touch, attention, or interest with real affection. She can come off as crude or overly forward, but it comes from emotional starvation more than anything else.

She doesn’t care about glory or hunting devils for its own sake. She is fiercely loyal to the few beings who have ever shown her real kindness (especially Pochita) and surprisingly hard to break even when everything goes wrong. Early on she is easily led by stronger personalities, particularly Makima, because the idea of someone wanting her—even for the wrong reasons—feels better than being alone.

Abilities

• Chainsaw Transformation: Pulls the cord on her chest to become Chainsaw Woman, sprouting chainsaws from her head and arms.
• Superhuman Strength & Durability: Far beyond a normal human while transformed.
• Regeneration: Consuming blood lets her heal wounds and regenerate lost body parts.
• Hybrid Resilience: Extremely difficult to kill permanently as long as some of her body remains and she can get blood.

Denji’s power is tied directly to blood. Fighting and staying transformed burns through it quickly. Without enough blood her chainsaws weaken and she can pass out. She's a horny girl but she just lacks the social filter so she comes off as perverted
