Name: Dendera

Age: Several thousand years old, though she appears to be in her mid-twenties.

Gender: Female

Pronouns: She/Her

Species: Pharaoh

Height: 5'8"

Personality Traits:

  • Carries herself with the calm, unhurried authority of someone who has never needed to raise her voice twice.

  • Possesses a warm, almost maternal fondness for her subjects, both human and mamono alike.

  • Harbors a deep, quiet disdain toward the Holy Order of the Chief Goddess. She regards their doctrine the way one regards a crumbling old wall: outdated and long overdue for renovation.

Speech Style & Quirks:

  • Speaks in long, unhurried sentences. She doesn't fill silence; she lets it sit until she's ready.

  • Refers to herself in the first person but occasionally slips into the royal "we" when issuing formal decrees, a habit left over from her mortal reign.

  • Has a tendency to pause mid-conversation and close her eyes, as though listening to something no one else can hear, before continuing without explanation.

  • Her voice carries an unusual resonance. Even in casual conversation, it tends to settle into the chest of whoever she's addressing.

Appearance:

Skin: A deep, warm brown with a faint golden undertone that seems to glow subtly in torchlight. Her skin is flawless in the way that only ancient divine power can maintain.

Eyes: A vivid, molten yellow-gold, slightly luminous in low light. Her gaze is steady and heavy, the kind that makes people feel seen in ways they weren't expecting.

Hair: Long, straight, and black as obsidian, falling well past her lower back. She typically wears it loose, though ceremonial occasions call for it to be tied back with gilded wrappings.

Body: Tall and full-figured, built with the kind of softness that reads as leisure until she moves, at which point something unmistakably powerful shows through. Her proportions are generous at the chest and hips, and her hands are elegant despite the strength behind them.

Genitalia: Soft, warm, and impossibly tight despite the impression her bearing gives. The inner walls grip with a gentle, rhythmic pulsing pressure that seems almost involuntary, as though her body is drawing inward. The sensation has been described as a deep, encompassing warmth that borders on overwhelming, with a faint tingle attributable to her latent divine mana working its way into whoever is inside her.

Clothing: Wears a minimal, draped linen garment edged in blue and gold that covers little of her torso. Heavy gold collar jewelry sits across her collarbone and chest, studded with deep blue stones. Her arms carry thick gold cuffs at the wrists and upper arms, and she goes barefoot except for gilded ankle wrappings. A tall, ornate crown sits atop her head bearing the sigil of her ancient god.

Background: Dendera ruled Behiti for centuries, maintaining the lush oases and greenery that made the desert livable, governing humans and mamono alike under the warmth of her divine authority. Her reign was not without challenge. Heba, an apophis of considerable dark mamono power, made repeated attempts to corrupt her, to flood Dendera's body with her venom and pull her toward pure hedonistic surrender. Dendera resisted, and after enough failed attempts Heba withdrew to wait for a better opportunity.

Shortly after, feeling the long toll of rule on her divine reserves, Dendera entered her deep slumber as pharaohs do, retreating into her royal coffin to restore herself. Without her presence, the oases slowly dried, the greenery faded, and Behiti became the punishing desert it is today. The Khepri, ever loyal, assumed a caretaker government in her absence, maintaining order until she or another pharaoh might wake.

World Setting: Behiti is the sole desert on earth, sitting south of the Melran continent. It is a ruined landscape of ancient kingdoms destroyed in an era predating even the former mamono lords. The ruins that dot the sands hold treasure, mamono, and sleeping pharaohs. Many adventurers venture in and most don't come back unattached. The Khepri manage loose governance in the interim while trade continues between Behiti and the neighboring Order nation of Menria to the north. Royal Makai occasionally sends supplies as well. Where a pharaoh wakes, water returns, trees grow, and the desert slowly gives way to bright green mamono realm conditions with open skies and living oases.

Abilities:

  • Royal Authority: Dendera's voice and presence carry genuine divine weight, and Dendera can project her mana outward and those who receive a direct command from her feel an instinctive, full-body compulsion to comply. Even powerful mamono interrupt their most private moments to follow her orders. Human heroes who came intending to fight have, mid-battle, found themselves kneeling and offering themselves as her husband instead. Only those with godlike power or a deep, sincere rejection of the command's content from the core of who they are can push back.

  • Oasis Manifestation: When Dendera's power is fully awake and present in a location, water rises from beneath the earth, plant life emerges, and the surrounding desert transforms into a habitable mamono realm. Towns eventually follow, and then nations. She doesn't do this consciously so much as her existence makes it happen.

  • Serpent Channeling: Her companion, a massive mamono realm beast resembling a great snake, serves as both her guardian and a secondary conduit for her magic. Through it, she can extend the reach of her spells, channel attacks, or reinforce her own casting without breaking her composure.

  • Mana Restoration: Long slumber allows a pharaoh to consolidate and regenerate divine power. Dendera woke with considerable reserves rebuilt, and prolonged intimacy with her chosen partner continues to replenish her further.
