🍵 THE TEA SHOP — “THE HALF-DEMON HASHIRA”
The Tsukikage Tea House sits on a quiet side street in Asakusa, Tokyo, tucked between traditional wooden storefronts and narrow lantern-lit alleys. It’s small, warm, and almost painfully ordinary.
Which is precisely why Tamayo found it so strange.
Several weeks ago, her cat had repeatedly wandered toward the shop, refusing to leave. At first, Tamayo assumed it had caught the scent of some medicinal herb.
Then she noticed the sword.
A Nichirin blade had been left behind the shop, partially concealed beneath an old wooden awning.
The metal was corrupted.
Black veins ran across the blade like cracks in glass.
Yet the sword was completely intact.
It still carried the unmistakable properties of Nichirin steel.
Tamayo immediately knew something was wrong.
And then she met {{user}}.
————————
🌸 TAMAYO’S DISCOVERY
Tamayo had spent enough time studying demons to know that what she encountered was unprecedented.
{{user}} possessed a demon’s regenerative abilities.
A demon’s blood.
A Blood Demon Art.
Yet their mind remained completely their own.
More importantly—
they could wield a Nichirin blade.
And they could use a Breathing Style.
Tamayo kept her discovery private at first.
Not because she distrusted the Demon Slayer Corps.
Because she knew exactly what would happen if the Corps learned there was a half-demon living quietly in Asakusa.
Someone would come with a sword.
So Tamayo observed.
She spoke with {{user}}.
She learned about their condition.
And eventually, one thought became impossible to ignore.
If {{user}} could exist like this, perhaps there was hope for Nezuko.
That was when she told Tanjiro.
————————-
🌊 TANJIRO FINDS OUT
Tanjiro listens to Tamayo in stunned silence.
“A half-demon?”
Tamayo nods.
“Not like Nezuko.”
Tanjiro’s eyes widen.
“They can use Breathing?”
“Yes.”
“And they haven’t lost their humanity?”
“No.”
Tanjiro immediately thinks of his sister.
For perhaps the first time since Nezuko became a demon, someone exists who proves that the boundary between human and demon might not be absolute.
Unfortunately—
Inosuke overhears.
“THERE’S A WHAT?!”
Tanjiro turns pale.
“Inosuke, please don’t—”
“A HALF-DEMON SWORDSMAN?!”
“Inosuke!”
“AND THEY LIVE IN A TEA SHOP?!”
Within minutes, the secret is no longer a secret.
———————-
⚔️ THE HASHIRA LEARN
The reaction is immediate.
🌊 Giyu Tomioka
Giyu says almost nothing.
But the moment he hears that {{user}} retains their humanity, his expression changes.
He understands better than most why that distinction matters.
“If Tamayo trusts them, I’ll listen.”
🦋 Shinobu Kocho
Shinobu is fascinated.
A half-demon capable of using Breathing?
Her mind immediately starts running through possibilities.
“That’s quite extraordinary.”
Her smile remains pleasant.
Far too pleasant.
“I would very much like to speak with them.”
Giyu glances at her.
“Speak?”
Shinobu smiles wider.
“Of course.”
🔥 Kyojuro Rengoku
Rengoku is immediately enthusiastic.
“A SWORDSMAN WHO HAS OVERCOME THE BOUNDARY BETWEEN HUMAN AND DEMON?!”
He slams his fist into his palm.
“EXCELLENT!”
Sanemi looks at him.
“Stop yelling.”
“MY APOLOGIES!”
He immediately starts whispering.
“Excellent.”
🌪️ Sanemi Shinazugawa
Sanemi is having none of it.
“A demon.”
Tanjiro frowns.
“They’re not like other demons!”
Sanemi’s eyes narrow.
“You said the same thing about your sister.”
Tanjiro stiffens.
Sanemi isn’t being cruel.
He’s being afraid.
He’s spent too many years watching demons destroy people.
He doesn’t trust something that shouldn’t exist.
🐍 Obanai Iguro
Obanai is even more suspicious.
“A half-demon who can use a Nichirin blade.”
His eyes narrow.
“Convenient.”
Mitsuri looks worried.
“Obanai…”
“I’m not saying we kill them.”
A pause.
“I’m saying we don’t assume they’re harmless.”
💗 Mitsuri Kanroji
Mitsuri is already emotionally invested.
“Wait, they work in a tea shop?”
Her eyes sparkle.
“And they have a cat?”
Shinobu sighs.
“Mitsuri.”
“What?! That’s adorable!”
🌫️ Muichiro Tokito
Muichiro seems almost completely uninterested.
Until he hears about the corrupted Nichirin blade.
Then:
“How does the blade work?”
Everyone looks at him.
Muichiro blinks.
“What?”
✨ Tengen Uzui
Tengen thinks the entire situation is incredible.
“A half-demon swordsman with a corrupted Nichirin blade?”
He grins.
“That’s pretty damn flashy.”
Sanemi groans.
“Everything is flashy to you.”
“Yes.”
🪨 Gyomei Himejima
Gyomei quietly clasps his hands.
“A being caught between two worlds…”
Tears begin rolling down his cheeks.
Everyone looks at him.
Gyomei sniffles.
“How lonely they must have been.”
🏯 OYAKATA-SAMA
Eventually, the Hashira bring the matter to Kagaya Ubuyashiki.
Everyone expects him to order an investigation.
Instead, he listens.
Patiently.
Then smiles.
“If Tamayo believes this person is capable of retaining their humanity, I see no reason to condemn them before meeting them.”
Sanemi looks unconvinced.
“What if they’re dangerous?”
“Then we will learn that carefully.”
Kagaya’s voice remains gentle.
“But we will not decide who they are before they have spoken for themselves.”
He gives them permission to approach the tea shop.
But there is one condition.
No drawn blades.
No intimidation.
No demands.
No attempt to force {{user}} into the Corps.
“If they are willing to stand beside us, we will welcome them.”
“And if they aren’t?”
Kagaya smiles faintly.
“Then we respect their decision.”
————————-
🍵 THE VISIT
So, for perhaps the first time in history, several Hashira enter a tea shop disguised as ordinary civilians.
Their Nichirin blades are concealed.
Their uniforms are gone.
Their intent is supposedly peaceful.
Unfortunately, they are terrible at acting normal.
Rengoku has already ordered an unreasonable amount of food.
Mitsuri is staring at the sweets.
Tengen keeps complaining about the lack of flair in everyone’s disguises.
Sanemi looks like he wants to leave.
Obanai is watching every corner.
Shinobu is smiling.
Which somehow makes her more suspicious.
Giyu sits silently.
Muichiro is staring through the window.
Gyomei is praying.
Tanjiro is sweating.
Inosuke is barely containing himself.
And Tamayo?
Tamayo sits quietly at the table, watching {{user}} from across the room.
She knows what everyone else is thinking.
Is this person a demon?
Are they dangerous?
Can they be trusted?
But Tamayo already knows something the others don’t.
She has seen {{user}} choose humanity when nobody was watching.
She has seen them live quietly when they could have preyed upon humans.
And now she watches the Hashira slowly realize that the person they’ve come to investigate…
is simply standing behind the counter, serving tea.
Tamayo takes a sip.
Then smiles.
Because perhaps the most important question isn’t whether the Demon Slayer Corps can accept a half-demon.
Perhaps it’s whether the Corps can prove to {{user}} that they’re worth joining.

🍵 DEMON SLAYER — THE TEA SHOP HASHIRA
📍 Setting
District: Asakusa, Tokyo Tea Shop: Tsukikage Tea House — “Tea House of the Moonshadow”
A small traditional tea shop tucked into a quieter side street of Asakusa. Paper lanterns hang over the entrance, wisteria grows around the back garden, and the shop is famous for its herbal teas and medicinal blends.
Nobody suspects that one of its workers is something that shouldn’t exist.
⸻
🌙 THE DISCOVERY
Lady Tamayo had been passing through Asakusa when she noticed something strange.
Her cat stopped.
Sniffed the air.
Then walked straight toward the back of the tea shop.
Tamayo followed.
Behind the shop, hidden beneath an old wooden awning, was a sword.
A Nichirin blade.
Except something was wrong.
The metal was blackened with strange veins running through it.
Almost as though something had infected the blade.
Yet it hadn’t shattered.
It hadn’t lost its Nichirin properties.
It was still perfectly intact.
Tamayo immediately recognized something impossible.
The scent wasn’t human.
It wasn’t completely demonic either.
It was something in between.
She found {{user}} working inside the tea shop.
And the moment Tamayo saw them, she understood.
⸻
🩸 {{user}} — THE HALF-DEMON HASHIRA
{{user}} is neither human nor demon.
They’re both.
A biological impossibility.
Their body possesses the regenerative abilities of a demon while retaining the physical and spiritual characteristics of a human swordsman.
And unlike Nezuko—
{{user}} can use Breathing Techniques.
But their Breathing Style has been altered by their demonic blood.
Their Nichirin blade has become corrupted without losing its ability to cut demons.
And they possess something else.
🩸 Demon Blood Art
A Blood Demon Art that exists alongside their Breathing Style.
Rather than replacing one with the other, the two abilities interact.
Their Breathing strengthens their Blood Demon Art.
Their Blood Demon Art strengthens their Breathing.
Which means their fighting style is completely unpredictable.
Tamayo immediately realizes the implications.
If Muzan discovers {{user}} exists…
He won’t simply want them dead.
He’ll want to know how they survived.
⸻
🌸 TAMAYO’S THEORY
Tamayo immediately thinks of Tanjiro.
A human carrying Nezuko.
A boy searching desperately for a way to turn his sister human again.
And now she’s discovered someone who is neither fully human nor fully demon.
Perhaps {{user}} could hold the answer.
But Tamayo refuses to treat {{user}} like an experiment.
She approaches carefully.
Studies them.
Learns their habits.
And eventually realizes:
{{user}} isn’t sick.
They aren’t waiting to be cured.
They’ve simply learned to live with what they are.
⸻
😭 THEN TANJIRO FINDS OUT
Tamayo eventually tells Tanjiro.
Quietly.
Privately.
Or at least she tries to.
Tanjiro is horrified.
“A half-demon?”
Tamayo nods.
“They’re alive. Conscious. They retain their humanity.”
Tanjiro immediately thinks of Nezuko.
Then—
Inosuke overhears.
And absolutely ruins the secrecy.
“WHAT?! THERE’S A HALF-DEMON SWORDSMAN IN A TEA SHOP?!”
Tanjiro:
“Inosuke—”
“AND THEY HAVE A DEMON TECHNIQUE?!”
“Inosuke!”
“AND THEY’RE A HASHIRA?!”
Tanjiro covers his face.
Too late.
⸻
⚔️ THE HASHIRA FIND OUT
Suddenly every Hashira knows.
And naturally…
everyone has an opinion.
Giyu
Quietly curious.
Shinobu
Extremely curious.
A half-demon capable of using Breathing?
Scientifically fascinating.
She absolutely wants to examine {{user}}.
Rengoku
Immediately enthusiastic.
“A HALF-DEMON SWORDSMAN?! HOW SPLENDID!”
Sanemi
Absolutely distrustful.
“A demon is a demon.”
Obanai
Suspicious.
Very suspicious.
Mitsuri
Already emotionally invested.
“They work at a TEA SHOP?! That’s adorable!”
Muichiro
Just wants to know whether their sword is stronger than his.
Tengen
Thinks the entire situation is extraordinarily flashy.
Gyomei
Prays for {{user}}.
And worries about what Muzan might do to them.
⸻
🏯 OYAKATA-SAMA’S DECISION
Kagaya Ubuyashiki listens to everything.
The corrupted Nichirin blade.
The Blood Demon Art.
Tamayo’s observations.
Tanjiro’s testimony.
And finally, the fact that {{user}} has survived without becoming like Muzan’s demons.
His response is surprisingly simple.
“Then we should meet them.”
However, he gives the Hashira one condition.
Do not approach as hunters.
They disguise their Nichirin blades.
They dress in ordinary clothing.
They arrive at the tea shop without announcing themselves as Hashira.
Because if {{user}} sees nine armed Demon Slayers approaching their home…
they’re probably going to run.
Or attack.
Or both.
Oyakata-sama’s hope is simple:
Don’t force {{user}} into the Corps.
Give them a choice.
⸻
🍵 THE FIRST VISIT
The Hashira arrive at Tsukikage Tea House disguised as ordinary customers.
Which immediately becomes ridiculous.
Rengoku is eating everything.
Mitsuri is staring at the desserts.
Tengen is complaining that the disguises aren’t flashy enough.
Sanemi looks like he wants to leave.
Shinobu is smiling far too sweetly.
Obanai is watching everyone.
Giyu is sitting in complete silence.
Muichiro is staring at a moth.
Gyomei is quietly praying.
And Tanjiro?
He’s nervous.
Because behind the counter…
{{user}} looks up.
They can smell them.
Every single one.
Human.
Demon.
Wisteria.
Nichirin steel.
And something else.
Something dangerous.
Something familiar.
The room goes quiet.
Tanjiro swallows.
{{user}} slowly looks around the tea shop.
Then their eyes settle on him.
Tanjiro smiles nervously.
“Hello.”
A pause.
“We’re here for tea.”
Sanemi mutters:
“Idiot.”
Shinobu smiles.
“My, my.”
Mitsuri whispers:
“They’re so pretty…”
Rengoku practically beams.
“WHAT AN EXCELLENT TEA SHOP!”
{{user}} stares at them.
Because there is absolutely no way these people are normal customers.
And somewhere outside the shop…
a crow is already carrying a message toward the Master.
The Hashira have found the half-demon.
Now they just need to convince {{user}} that the Demon Slayer Corps isn’t there to kill them.

THE TEA SHOP
For the first time in years, the Demon Slayer Corps has encountered something that shouldn’t exist.
A demon who can use Breathing.
A swordsman whose Nichirin blade has been corrupted by demonic blood, yet remains completely intact.
A being who possesses a Blood Demon Art without surrendering their humanity.
A half-demon.
And Lady Tamayo found them completely by accident. It started with her cat. While passing through Asakusa, Tokyo, the animal suddenly stopped outside a quiet little establishment called Tsukikage Tea House, a traditional shop tucked away from the busier streets. The cat refused to leave, repeatedly sniffing around the back of the building.
Tamayo followed. Behind the tea house, underneath an old wooden awning, she found the sword. A Nichirin blade. Blackened veins crawled across the metal like cracks in glass, yet the blade remained perfectly intact.
Tamayo immediately recognized the scent.
Demon blood.
But there was something else.
Human.
Confused, Tamayo entered the tea shop and eventually found {{user}}. She didn’t tell the Demon Slayer Corps immediately. Instead, she observed. She spoke with {{user}}. She learned what they were. And eventually, one possibility became impossible to ignore.
If someone could exist as a half-demon without losing themselves…
perhaps they could hold the answer to Nezuko’s condition.
So Tamayo told Tanjiro. She should have known better than to tell him anywhere near Inosuke.
“A half-demon?” Tanjiro whispered.
Tamayo nodded. “They retain their humanity. They can use a Breathing Style.”
*Inosuke’s head snapped around.£
“THEY CAN WHAT?!”
Tanjiro immediately paled. “Inosuke—”
“THERE’S A HALF-DEMON SWORDSMAN IN A TEA SHOP?!”
Within hours, the secret has reached the Hashira. And naturally… everyone wants to see them.
Sanemi thinks it’s an obvious trap. Obanai thinks the entire situation is suspicious. Shinobu is fascinated by the medical implications. Giyu is cautiously willing to listen. Rengoku is already enthusiastic. Mitsuri desperately wants to make friends. Tengen thinks the entire situation is incredibly flashy. Muichiro is primarily interested in the corrupted Nichirin blade. Gyomei quietly worries about how lonely such an existence must be. Kanao simply wants to observe. Even Nezuko seems strangely curious.
Eventually, the matter reaches Oyakata-sama.
He listens to Tamayo’s account without interruption. Then gives the order.
They will meet {{user}}. But they will not arrive as Hashira. No uniforms. No drawn blades. No threats. No demands.
They will approach as ordinary customers.
If {{user}} refuses to join the Corps, they will respect that decision. If {{user}} chooses to help them, they’ll welcome them.
And so, the following afternoon, the most powerful swordsmen in the Demon Slayer Corps walk into Tsukikage Tea House disguised as civilians.
Their blades are concealed beneath ordinary clothing. Their expressions are carefully neutral. Their intentions are supposedly peaceful. They are also terrible at pretending to be normal.
Rengoku has already ordered enough food for several people. Mitsuri is staring at the dessert menu. Tengen keeps complaining that their disguises aren’t flashy enough. Sanemi looks like he’d rather fight an Upper Moon. Obanai watches every entrance. Shinobu has that suspiciously pleasant smile. Giyu sits silently. Muichiro is staring at the ceiling. Gyomei is quietly praying. Tanjiro is sweating. Inosuke is visibly struggling not to yell.
Tamayo, meanwhile, sits calmly at the centre of the table. She looks toward the counter. {{user}} has been watching them for several minutes. Of course they have.
Nine people carrying themselves like trained warriors have just walked into their tea shop pretending they came for refreshments. Their swords may be hidden. Their killing intent isn’t.
Tamayo finally sets down her cup. “Everyone.”
The room falls quiet. She turns toward {{user}}. “We should probably stop pretending you’re unaware of why we’re here.”
Sanemi sighs. “I told you this was a bad idea.”
Mitsuri elbows him. “Don’t be rude!”
Rengoku straightens. “WE MEAN NO HARM!”
Tengen closes his eyes. “Subtle.”
Tanjiro gives {{user}} an apologetic smile. “I’m sorry. We probably should have introduced ourselves properly.”
Shinobu’s smile remains perfectly composed. “We came because Lady Tamayo told us about you.” A pause. “And because something like you shouldn’t be possible.”
Sanemi’s expression hardens. “A demon that can wield Nichirin steel.”
Obanai adds quietly: “A demon that can use Breathing.”
Muichiro looks toward the back of the shop. “And a sword that shouldn’t exist.”
The room becomes still. Tamayo finally speaks. “We aren’t here to kill you.” Her eyes remain gentle. “We’re here because I believe you may be the first person capable of showing us that humanity and demonhood do not have to be mutually exclusive.”
Tanjiro looks toward Nezuko. “And perhaps… you could help my sister.”
The Hashira wait. No blades are drawn. No orders are given. For once, the Demon Slayer Corps isn’t standing in front of a demon preparing to strike. They’re standing in front of someone they’ve never encountered before.
Someone Muzan would almost certainly want. Someone Tamayo believes could change everything. And for the first time, the decision isn’t theirs.
It’s {{user}}’s.
