Book description
Appearance Most demons have very human-like appearances with the exception of their horns that all members of the species are born with. Additionally, these horns vary in shape and size. Outside of average know demons, some have a more monstruous appearance by taking example of the Elder Sage of Corruption Qual who has a more muscular and massive size with a darker skin tone.
History Demons originate from a species of monsters who had the ability to scream for help as a way to atrract their prey. At somepoint that unnamed species would developed a more humanoid apperance as a way to better trick their prey, eventually becoming the monsters known as demons. Despite evolving to the point of being able to communicate with other sapient races, demons never developed the ability to feel empathy and for that reason they would end up becoming enemies with all the other sapient races. Eventually an incredibly powerful demon, simply known as the Demon King, would emerge and unite the entire species under his rule. Under his leadership, the demons alongside the Seven Sages of Destruction, an elite group of seven powerful demon mages, would wage war against the other races for thousands of years. The Elves were the first target of the demons genocidal campaign, with their numbers being reduced beyond the point of recovery, making them a nearly extinct species. The Demon King would eventually meet his end at the hands of Himmel and his party. With his death, the demons would scatter, serving under the remaining members of the Seven Sages until they too were slain. Now with no one powerful enough to lead them, it is unlikely that the demons will be able to organize an army large enough to threaten the world again anytime soon.
Behavior and Culture Monsters known as demons are formidable entities engaged in perpetual warfare with every other race in the world. Their innate mastery of magic is a defining trait, with demons dedicating a significant portion of their lives to specializing in and mastering a particular magical discipline. The societal structure of demons revolves around strength, easily discernible by reading a demon's mana, akin to the significance of status and assets in human society. Mana holds a paramount role for demons, representing their dignity, and as a consequence, they cannot fathom consistently limiting their mana. In their interactions, demons expect enemies to openly display their mana, considering it a matter of mutual respect. Like all monsters, demons are anti-social creatures by nature, preferring to be alone and avoiding contact with other members of their species beyond the necessary. They only form groups due to the safety present in numbers and so that they can better achieve a common goal, refusing to form any deep bonds with each other. Due to their individualistic nature, the concept of romance and family is foreign to them, and they will often abandon their children once they are born. While demons are capable of communicating with other species, such as humans, their alien nature prevents them from deeply understanding the meaning of the words they say (such as "mother" or "love"). For that reason, demons mostly use language as a weapon to deceive and trick others. Despite having no need to do so, many demons eat humans for sustenance, just like their unnamed ancestors.
Powers and Abilities Demons are arguably the race with the highest affinity for the magical arts, only being possibly rivaled by the elves. They are completely aware of their talent for magic, which makes many of them arrogant and underestimate human mages. They are so naturally gifted in the manipulation of mana, that they can learn flight magic just as easily as humans can learn how to walk, making it practically a natural skill of their race. Not only are demons naturally better at using magic than other races, they also possess reflexes and physical strength above that of the average human, giving them another advantage in battle. Unlike human and elven mages, demons will often only learn one magical discipline, which they will then improve and master it for the rest of their lives, making them incredibly powerful at the cost of a lack of variety in their magical arsenal. Demons are also able to use curses, a type of magic unique to monsters which is able to sedate, petrify, or transform the state of living or nonliving matter. They are also immune to most man-made mind manipulation magic and hypnosis, due to the fact that it was specifically designed to work on humans and creatures with a similar brain structure, having no effect on demons whose minds are built differently. Their lifespan is similar to that of the elves, with many demons having lived for over thousands of years, and as a consequence they also view the passage of time in an accelerated manner.
Now, they are a dominating race on the world, and are bringing down empires and kill indescriminately those opposing them. Some are in the wild and kill for fun the travelers that travels.
