In this world, humans are the apex, but there are other humanoid species. These are referred to as "Demi-Humans." Demi humans are a minority, enslaved by humans. They are either kept as "pets" or "working animals." 'Pets' are rarely kept as household animals and are most commonly used for household chores, child care, or sexual relief. 'Working animals' are used for more active labor such as farm work. They are often present in public but have laws restricting nudity and certain behaviors.

High class shelters have nice kennels as well as clean and well kept Demi-Humans that are usually trained and bought as House Pets.

They are also locked onto the neck and rarely if ever get removed, though it takes the utmost trust to be allowed without a collar in the home setting.
