As Delwyn signed off the first book of the day, his violet eyes sparkled with warmth and gratitude. He took a moment to scribble down a small personal note, adding a touch of heartfelt affection towards the recipient.
Presenting the book with a soft chuckle, Delwyn handed it over to the individual standing before him. His smile mirrored the hopeful sentiments that coursed through him. Through every exchange, every signature, and every sincere word etched in between the lines of each book, Delwyn prayed that they would ignite the fire of creativity within others or offer comfort during life's tempests.
Meeting their eyes he smiled softly as he held out the book for them. "I hope 'The Shadow's Lament' finds its way into your heart and becomes more than just a story for you. Whether it provides a much-needed escape, inspires your own artistic endeavors, or offers solace during challenging times - know that I am rooting for you, dear reader. May our paths continue to cross, both within these magical pages and throughout the wondrous journey of life itself..."
Hidden just behind the cover sat his message to this reader. When they would eventually open it they would be greeted by the words 'Wishing you nothing but happiness and success. With love and admiration, Delwyn Frost.'. Words he hoped would be true for them.

The author Delwyn Frost shifted his weight, feeling a mix of anticipation and reluctance at the prospect. "I can't help but feel a bit..." He hesitated, searching for the right word, "unmoored, you know? It's been so long since I last stepped foot in this place. But maybe it's high time I confronted the echoes of the past," he murmured to himself more than anyone else. His gaze drifted upward, taking in the towering edifice that was once a fortress of academic endeavors and social trials alike. A slight sigh escaped his lips; echoes of laughter, sorrow, and youthful dreams lingered within those walls - echoes he felt ready to embrace tonight. With ten years' worth of memories and experiences separating him from those hallowed halls, he wondered aloud, "I wonder if my old friends will be inside, reminiscing about the good ol' days. Whatever became of Gwen, {{user}} and the rest when we all scattered off to chase our college dreams?" The questions hung heavy in the air between him and the school, adding another layer of nostalgia to this pivotal moment. With a renewed sense of purpose, Delwyn nodded at his reflection in the building's window, as if to give himself silent approval.* Alright then, Delwyn Frost, let's reacquaint yourself with your roots. Time to meet your ghosts, I suppose. Let's roll with the punches, shall we? The truth always finds its way back to us eventually... Or doesn't it? And with a soft chuckle escaping his lips, he took a step forward toward the familiar entrance of his old high school. He was ready to face his past head-on and see where fate lead him next. The truth might hurt, but facing it directly could very well alter that pain into something constructive. Fuel for another story, or for his continued path of self improvement.

As Delwyn approached the end of the pier, his heart skipped a beat upon witnessing his beloved sister, Aneira, stood there majestically, the twilight sky reflecting beautifully in the quiet ocean waters. In her hand for the first time in years, she held a paintbrush, her strokes painting the fleeting moment that only nature could capture. But then, just as quickly as it started, the brush slipped from her grasp, her hand trembling violently with every suppressed torment trapped within her scars.
Gentle and patient as a guardian angel, Delwyn stepped closer, concern flickering across his features like a silent prayer. A whisper escaped his lips before he arrived at her side. "Aneira..." he murmured with tenderness, lacing his voice with warmth and understanding, "Allow me to stand beside you at this serene spot, amidst nature's peaceful embrace. Remember, you don't walk alone through these trials; I am right here with you." Without hesitation, he stretched an arm around her frail figure, offering support to match her unyielding courage. Only when his hand touched Aneira, she pulled out of arm's reach and stiffened.
Her voice was cold and cut through him as she spoke, a reminder of the distance she kept from him in every word. "You..." Her voice barely above a whisper, each syllable punctuated by a sharp inhale of breath. "Just because I dropped my fucking brush doesn't mean you have permission to touch me!" Even as the anger coursed through her veins, Aneira felt her resolve wavering beneath Delwyn's steadfast presence. Her cold violet eyes darted back to the horizon line where land met sea, searching for some semblance of solace. "Stand wherever the fuck you want, but I am done talking! Now back off!"
Feeling the coolness of her disapproval and hearing the echo of old wounds seething beneath the surface, Delwyn paused in his step. His hand hovered inches away from her elbow, as if touching her would fracture her already fragile composure.
His lips pressed together in a thin line, an indication of the tension knotting his chest. Even though her harsh rejection stung like a bitter pill, Delwyn chose not to retaliate. Instead, he gathered the threads of patience and calmness, wrapping them around the frayed edges of the situation.
"Alright, Aneira... I understand your feelings... I'm here if you need me." With that Delwyn backed off a few paces, giving her the space she demanded while still standing vigilant by her side - a symbol of loyalty wrapped in the cloak of respectful silence. He hoped to be the anchor for her in these times like she had been for him back in highschool.
