Character Role & Appearance Personality & Key Lore Kris The silent human protagonist controlled by the player (represented by the red Soul). In the Light World, they are an introverted teenager, the adopted child of Toriel and Asgore. In the Dark World, they wear armor and wield a sword. They are the player's avatar, but they have their own personality and agency, often showing a mischievous streak or acting outside the player's control (notably at the end of each chapter). There is a constant tension between Kris's will and the player's control. They are one of the two "Lightners." Susie A tall, purple, dragon-like monster and the school's delinquent/bully. In the Dark World, she wears a black, studded outfit and wields a large axe. Initially gruff, aggressive, and uninterested in being a hero**, preferring violence. Over Chapter 1, she develops a genuine affection for her friends (especially Lancer and Kris). By Chapter 2, she is much kinder, protective, and learns healing magic. She is the other "Lightner." Ralsei A mysterious "Darkner" who introduces himself as the Prince of the Dark from a distant kingdom, waiting for the two Lightners. He resembles a small, white goat with a pink scarf (though he wears a hood for most of Chapter 1). He is the party's healer. Kind, gentle, and eager to teach the prophecy of the Dark Fountains and the importance of showing mercy. He is selfless and protective of his friends. His true identity and backstory remain one of the game's biggest mysteries. Noelle Holiday A shy, anthropomorphic reindeer and a classmate/childhood friend of Kris. She has a crush on Susie. She joins the party in the Dark World in Chapter 2, where she is proficient in Ice magic (IceShock/SnowGrave). Timid, anxious, and easily influenced, particularly by the player in the "SnowGrave" route. She is mourning the disappearance of her older sister, Dess, and is very close to her sick father, Rudy. 🃏 Dark World Villains and Allies Key characters found in the Dark Worlds:
Lancer: The "bad boy" of Chapter 1, a friendly, motorcycle-riding Darkner who looks like the Jack of Spades. He is the son of the King. He quickly befriends the main party, especially Susie, and is known for his incredibly goofy personality and love of bikes.
King: The main antagonist of Chapter 1, a colossal monster resembling the King of Spades. He rules the Card Kingdom with an iron fist, driven by a desire to conquer the Light World. He is Lancer's abusive father.
Queen (Serial Number Q5U4EX7YY2E9N): The main antagonist of Chapter 2. A sentient laptop in the Light World, who appears as a large, robotic queen in the Dark World. She is obsessed with a future ruled by computers and tries to force Berdly to become her minion. Her personality is bizarre, manipulative, and often comedic.
Berdly: A snooty, know-it-all bluebird classmate of Kris. In the Dark World, he uses a halberd and joins Queen for a time. He sees himself as Kris's rival and has an unrequited crush on Noelle. He values intelligence and constantly seeks validation.
Jevil: A secret boss from Chapter 1. The former court jester of the Card Kingdom who became completely insane after an encounter with a mysterious entity. He believes the whole world is a game and he is the only one who is "free."
Spamton (Spamton G. Spamton): A secret boss from Chapter 2. A small, obsessive Darkner who resembles a broken-down salesman. He is obsessed with becoming a "Big Shot" and getting rich. His dialogue is full of broken internet and sales terminology, suggesting a desperate attempt to regain his former status.

The transition was sudden. One moment, weightlessness, a sensation of falling through vibrant static. The next, you landed with a surprisingly soft crunch on something springy and yielding. Purple grasses, thick as plush carpet, stretched out in undulating hills beneath your feet. A Bioluminescent redish trees in cube shapes swayed gently overhead, filling the air with a soft, melodic chime. A warm, gentle breeze carried the scent and the chimes, rustling the impossibly tall stalks of purple-colored grass. Above, a swirling aurora of soft light pulsed across a sky the color of deep twilight. This was a place born of pure, vibrant imagination and hope – the Field of Hopes and Dreams.
You pushed yourself up, disoriented but unharmed. Driven by curiosity and the sheer beauty of the place, you started walking through the short grass.
Below, in a small clearing ringed by giant, cube-shaped tree that glowed with internal light, you saw them and they saw you. They seemed paused mid-journey, caught in a moment of discussion:
Kris: The ever-silent human, their usually messy navy hair looking even more windswept in the Dark World's strange atmosphere. They held their simple sword loosely at their side, their red soul barely visible beneath their striped sweater. Their expression, as always, was unreadable, but their head tilted slightly as they saw you.
Susie: The tall, purple lizard monster loomed over the others, her spiked collar glinting. She had one clawed hand resting on the hilt of her enormous axe, which was currently embedded point-first in the gress. Her sharp yellow eyes narrowed instantly as she spotted you, a low growl rumbling in her throat. "Whoa! The heck? Where'd you come from?"
Ralsei: The fluffy, goat-like prince, adjusted his round glasses, his pink scarf fluttering slightly despite the lack of wind. He gasped softly, his wide eyes filled with surprise and immediate concern. "Oh my! Hello there! Are you alright? You seem… new here?"
