- #1Lightner
Keys: Lightner
Lightners are people (both humans and monsters) that exist in the real world, as opposed to the Darkners that inhabit the Dark Worlds.
- #2Darkner
Keys: Darkner
Darkners are beings that inhabit the Dark Worlds, as opposed to the Lightners that exist in the Light World. They are the keepers of the Dark Fountains.
Darkners are typically based on an inanimate object in the corresponding Light World location. The Card Kingdom is located in the Light World's Unused Classroom, so its Darkners are based on playing cards, board pieces, toys, etc. found in that room. The Cyber World is located in the Light World's Library Computer Lab, so its Darkners are based on electronics, software components, computer programs, etc.
Darkners are capable of using magic, with their attacks corresponding to their Light World counterpart object. For example, most Card Kingdom Darkners attack with spades, hearts, diamonds, and clubs.
Darkners can be transferred to other Dark Worlds if a Lightner transports their Light World counterpart. Ralsei is the only Darkner known to traverse between Dark Worlds seemingly without assistance. Though any Darkner can be transferred to any Dark World, they may not be compatible with it. If a Darkner stays in a Dark World they are not compatible with, they eventually turn to stone. The only Dark World that all Darkners can reside in without turning to stone is Castle Town, because its fountain is made from "pure darkness."
Some Darkners also have knowledge that does not pertain to Dark World. Darkners can be aware of where a Dark World takes place within Hometown. They can also recall their Hometown counterpart's interactions with Lightners.
- #3Dark World
Keys: Dark World
Dark Worlds are powered by Dark Fountains and inhabited by Darkners. Each Dark World represents the contents of the Hometown location where the Dark Fountain was created.
For example, the Hometown location of the Card Kingdom Dark World is the unused classroom. The classroom contains a rug similarly colored as the Field, a checkerboard corresponding to the Great Board, and a cupboard filled with playing cards similar to Card Castle. The Card Kingdom is inhabited by Darkners who correspond to the various items strewn throughout the unused classroom.
Darkners can only inhabit the Dark World from which they originate for extended periods of time. The exception to this is the Closet Dark World, because its Dark Fountain emits pure darkness. If Darkners do visit another Dark World, they turn to stone after remaining in it for too long, although they make a full recovery when returned to a compatible Dark World.
Lightners, on the other hand, are able to remain in Dark Worlds freely. They can visit Dark Worlds by entering their corresponding Hometown locations. Lightners have only been able to leave Dark Worlds via two methods: by sealing that world's Dark Fountain, and by using the Castle Town entrance.
However, Darkners can be transported between Dark Worlds by Lightners moving their Hometown counterpart objects.
Curiously, Ralsei, Jevil, and Starwalker, who are presumed to be Darkners, are able to persist in other Dark Worlds without consequence, unlike other Darkners. Ralsei can also travel from one Dark World to another without the assistance of a Lightner. It's possible Ralsei is able to persist because he's from the Closet Dark World, and may be compatible with all other Dark Worlds because of this.
Several Dark World objects have much more mundane Hometown equivalents: Weapons correspond to things like pencils or an Eraser, and the Shadow Crystal corresponds to a shard of Glass. However, some objects directly match their Hometown counterparts.
If Lightners receive harm in the Dark World, this is reflected in the Light World.
- #4Hometown
Keys: Hometown
Hometown is a small suburban town surrounded by a dense forest with golden yellow leaves.
- #5Dark Fountain
Keys: Dark Fountain, Fountain
Dark Fountains are seen as a humongous, constant stream of darkness spiraling upwards. They act as power sources that give a Dark World form. Ralsei has stated that only the Fountain of Darkness in Castle Town is supposed to be standing. However, King and Queen state that the Knight has recently been opening new Fountains. If too many Fountains are open at once, an apocalyptic event called The Roaring takes place. Titans emerge from the Fountains to devastate both the Light and Dark Worlds. Darkners would be petrified, and Lightners would be forced to fend for themselves. The Light World would become a place of eternal night.
As such, it is stated by The Prophecy that three "HEROES" are destined to seal the Fountains to restore balance. Sealing a Dark Fountain results in reverting a Dark World to its Light World form.
The Knight is currently the only known entity known to have opened Dark Fountains. However, any Lightner could potentially open their own Dark Fountain. This can be done by projecting their determination into a sharp object and piercing the ground.
Immediately after being opened in the Light World, a Dark Fountain takes the form of an opaque black fog that seems to fill the room the fountain was opened in.
- #6Castle Town
Keys: Castle Town
Castle Town is a town seemingly ruled by Ralsei. is in the School's Closet Dark World. It houses Ralsei's Castle and the Fountain of Darkness. The town is seemingly desolated and empty of life, no one is to be of sight with the exception of Ralsei. It is unique in its ability to host Darkners from other Dark Worlds.
- #7Legend of Delta Rune
Keys: The Legend, The Prophecy
The Legend of Delta Rune is a legend known among the Darkners, foretelling of hero(s) that would arrive one day and restore the balance between light and dark by banishing the Angel's Heaven.
- #8The Roaring
Keys: The Roaring
The Roaring describes an apocalyptic event where, if too many fountains exist at once, the world will fall into chaos. Beings known as the Titans will spawn and wreak destruction upon the land. All Darkners will eventually turn to stone. The Lightners, in turn, will be left to fend for themselves in eternal darkness.
- #9Card Castle
Keys: Card Castle
Card Castle is the home of King and Lancer found in the Card Kingdom and is guarded by some variant of every Darkner encountered up to that point.
- #10Lancer
Keys: Lancer, Dark Jack Lancer
Lancer is the young prince of the Card Kingdom.
He appears as a short and rotund black, blue, and white Darkner with a teardrop-shaped head and blue spade symbol on his body. The upper half of his face is hidden by a large, spade-shaped shadow. He has a large mouth and a prominent blue tongue that he usually sticks out. It is difficult to tell Lancer's body from his clothes.
Lancer is very childish and generally immature in his behavior and speech. He delivers his lines with a near-constant smile on his face. He is easily preoccupied with childish games and pursuits and likes hiding things and irritating people. He has a poor sense of direction and gets lost in mazes quite easily. He can be easily intimidated by strong enemies, although he remains calm and jovial while doing so.
Lancer values and idolizes his father, King. He tries to project a tough facade in imitation of him, hoping to be designated "son of the month," and caring for his father's well-being and approval despite being neglected. Aware that his father's subjects don't like him and only put up with him due to King's orders, he seeks real friendship.
- #11King
Keys: King
King is the father of Lancer, and one of the four kings of the Card Kingdom.
King is a cold-hearted Darkner with little compassion towards his subjects and only considers his own wishes. He appears to be power-hungry, evident by his constant wishes of gaining control of the World along with his following of Knight's plan to capture the three other Kings.
King shares multiple features with his son, such as the tear-shaped head with a black spade where his eyes should be, a mouth showing his tongue and big teeth, a broad and white/dark grey body, and blue gloves and boots. What differentiates him from Lancer is the three-spiked crown on his head, the enormous mouth (with more square shaped teeth compared to the curved fang shaped ones in the mouth on his face) on his stomach shaped like a blue spade from where a chain comes out when used as a weapon in battle, and the black cape he has.
King also displays signs of abuse towards his son Lancer, in which he often neglects him and even uses him as a hostage to gain the upper hand in battle. During the final fight, it is revealed that King's loyalty lies solely with the Knight, and that he'll do anything to avoid failing them; to the point of threatening to kill Lancer if Kris, Ralsei, and Susie do not surrender.
Despite this, King does seem to have some form of care for his son, as when talking to him in his cell, he asks if Lancer was happy. He dismisses his intentions of throwing him down a cliff as a bluff, and comments that Lancer would just bounce off if he did drop him off the castle, calling him a "bouncy little pumpkin."
His goal is to serve the Knight by protecting the Eastern Fountain and invading the world with darkness, thus making the Darkners the rulers of it.
- #12Rouxls Kaard
Keys: Rouxls Kaard
Rouxls Kaard is an adult-sized humanoid Darkner. His head is diamond-shaped, with long white hair parted to his left, and a face with a slightly melted appearance composed of two diamond-shaped eyes and a large mouth. He wears a royal blue suit with epaulets. In terms of skin and color-scheme, Rouxls is a flashy deep blue.
Rouxls typically acts very egotistically. He claims to be the Duke of Puzzles, and attempts to stop the party by forcing them to solve his puzzles. However, he is an incompetent puzzle-maker: each of his puzzles consist of the bare minimum of elements – a box and a button – and he makes no attempt to obfuscate the solution in any way. He also vandalizes clues on puzzles he did not create, in order to make them "harder."
He uses Early Modern English speech patterns, presumably to appear educated, but this amounts to little more than replacing all instances of "you" with "thou," randomly adding "-est" and "-eth" suffixes, and haphazard capitalization of phrases for emphasis. When his pride is hurt, he doubles down by intensifying his misuse of Early Modern English to the point of incomprehensibility; but when surprised or stressed, he tends to drop it altogether.
Lancer considers Rouxls to be his "lesser dad". Rouxls is alternately irritated with and endeared by Lancer and his antics.
As big as his love for puzzles is, mac and cheese is as equally as much.
- #13Cyber World
Keys: Cyber World
The Cyber World is a techno/internet themed Dark World located in the Hometown Library's computer lab.
- #14Dark Dollar
Keys: Dark Dollar, Kromer
The Dark Dollar (D$) is the main form of currency in the Dark World. It is primarily earned at the end of encounters, or from selling items and equipment in shops.
One Dollar equates to 100 Dark Dollars and vise versa.
- #15Swatch
Keys: Swatch
Swatch is the proprietor of the Color Cafe from the Cyber World and the Head Butler of Queen.
Swatch has a geometric, colorful, angular bird-like appearance, with a white face, black hair, orange mouth, and orange-yellow tinted glasses. He wears a half-black-half-white collared shirt, a pink tie, and a half-white-half-black vest on top, with a pink circle on his right side and blue, green and yellow rectangles on his left.
Swatch conducts himself in a polite but reserved manner. He values customer service, and seems to enjoy working at the Color Cafe. Spamton in particular was noted to once be particularly valued by the cafe, but these feelings appear to have all but faded with his degeneration, with Swatch noticeably becoming uncomfortable with the subject. While never overtly expressing his disdain, his dialogue does seem to betray some level of jadedness with Queen. Much more apparently, he expresses exasperation from his various encounters with Rouxls Kaard, although is quick to attempt backtrack on that as well.
- #16Queen
Keys: Q5U4EX7YY2E9N, Queen
Queen, full name Serial Number Q5U4EX7YY2E9N, is a Darkner who rules Cyber World.
She appears as a tall and slim black, azure, and white Darkner. She wears a sleeveless black top with an azure masonic collar that has slightly spiked shoulders and a large white medici-styled collar, white pants/leggings (occasionally with either side half of the pants being shaded azure), black high-heeled calf-length boots, elbow-length azure gloves, a beauty spot at the right of her eyes, azure lipstick, and an azure cap with black marks on each side that sweeps significantly behind her head. Her eyes are a dark screen with a heart-like shape with eyelashes , occasionally showing red text according to her emotions. Her overall design bears a resemblance to Lancer and King, despite her being a computer rather than a playing card like they are.
Queen is a benevolent, if somewhat airheaded, person. While she is the main antagonist, it is mostly out of lack of insight rather than malice. She seems reluctant about controlling people she likes, and would rather they willingly go along with her plans to make them happy. She is also prone to giving people pet names and describing them using fun adjectives. She genuinely believes she is doing the right thing by opening Dark Fountains, and after she learns the truth of The Roaring from Ralsei, she recognizes that she was misguided and immediately stops her plan.
Being a computer, she has a unique speech pattern evident by her capitalizing first letters of every word in her dialogue, which can either denote a robotic monotone or her over-enunciating every word as if it were its own sentence. She also neglects the use of punctuation marks or puts them in rather weird places, for computer-y effects like imitating a text template (e.g. You Have Been: [text]). She also uses Internet acronyms when talking, such as LMAO. She often laughs in a distinguished manner.
- #17Cyber City
Keys: Cyber City
Cyber City is an area within the Cyber World. It consists of a trash area, the city itself, and a mix of amusement park-themed areas.
- #18Manual
Keys: Manual
The Manual is a small book written by Ralsei containing all the necessary information one would need to approach appropriately should they find themselves in an encounter or fight. Ralsei has been keeping this book, waiting for someone to use it. The manual also serves as a diary for Ralsei but that's asides the point. You'd be a heartless person if you were to intentionally throw it away.
- #19Fields of Hopes and Dreams
Keys: Field of Hopes and Dreams
"The Field of Hopes and Dreams," is an area with purple grass in the Card Kingdom. It consists of red-leaved trees and lengthy, twisting paths.

- #21Great Board
Keys: Great Board
The Great Board is a sub-area of the Field in the Card Kingdom. It is made up of a path composed of black and red squares in a checker pattern, with a width ranging from two to four squares. - #22Pandora Palace
Keys: Pandora Palace
Pandora Palace is the name of Queen's mansion in the Cyber World, acting as the seat of Queen, who rules over it.
- #23Cyber Grill
Keys: Cyber Grill
A local diner located in Cyber City. Spamton and his siblings had commonly gone there before.
- #24Acid Lake
Keys: Acid Lake
A lake of green battery acid that Queen has in her mansion. Virtually useless asides from executing punishments and her filling her glass from it to drink.
- #25Addison
Keys: Addison
Addisons are humanoid Darkners with polygonal head and body shapes, closed eyes, a long pointy nose, and a wide smile. Their body outlines are gray but their face details are outlined in black. They vary in color and head shape and can be found throughout Cyber City. They all appear to be wearing long-sleeved black V-neck shirts and bright green pants. They are the equivalent of online of advertisement, meaning that they are born to be salespeople.
Addisons are upbeat and energetic when advertising; their dialogue lines almost always end in an exclamation point or two. They will constantly attempt to advertise various products to people and pander to their customers' interests. However, they do seem capable of experiencing more complex emotions and deep thought, as indicated by their backstory with Spamton.
- #26Ambyu-Lance
Keys: Ambyu-Lance, Ambyulance
Ambyu-Lances are a Darkner type in Cyber World. They are based on antivirus programs. Ambyu-Lances resemble a humanoid robot with a cross symbol on the front, and a red and blue body resembling a pill. They have a syringe for a head, two angry yellow eyes on the front, and a police siren on the top. They also wield a reflex hammer.
Ambyu-Lances act like stereotypical police officers as they represent antivirus programs, and fight against Virovirokun as a result, since they represent computer viruses. They are very aggressive and use stereotypical doctor and police terminology in their dialogue. They do seem to have a soft side to them. Although hostile to Virovirokuns due to their inherently opposing nature, they are amicable enough to drink together.
- #27Swatchling
Keys: Swatchling
Swatchlings are broad, black-feathered, bird-type Darkner with a white mask which resembles that of a plague doctor. The Swatchlings appear wearing a brightly-colored suit and tie with a white shirt underneath along with white pants and black dress shoes. As their name suggests, their suits, ties, and eyes may differ in terms of colors, from red, orange, yellow, green, and blue.
They are the butlers and maids who serves the Queen. On average, they have a refined butler-type personality, loyally cleaning up messes that the party leaves behind, like broken arcade machines and vases. Some of them even tend to recall their experiences serving Spamton if interacted with. They aren't completely stoic, showing an uncontrollable fear of Maice and squeals. They can get provoked by someone touching a vase (which breaks it), chasing them down with a broom as per rules of the Queen's mansion.
- #28NEO
Keys: NEO
A robot holding significant power akin to a Lightner to those who behold it, created by Swatch who assisted an unknown Lightner in creating it. It now rots in the Queen's basement due to the Lightner never coming back to claim it.
- #29Spamton G. Spamton
Keys: Spamton G. Spamton, Spamton
Spamton appears as a diminutive puppet and ex-Addison that wears yellow and pink glasses that sometimes change colors and a long-sleeved black V-neck shirt, with black hair that is slicked back, appearing similar to a pompadour.
Spamton was once a natural salesman, always willing to cut a deal. While he still bears a shadow of these traits, his deals are now often nonsensical or violent. He claims that he became a salesman not for the money, but for the freedom to make his own deals. However, he still attempts to scam for money (which he refers to as "Kromer") at every opportunity. His speech patterns are similar to typical obfuscated spam email text, with many words replaced with non sequitur variants in square brackets that could imply incorrectly-applied mail merge variables or hyperlinks, or various voice glitches.
He seems desperate and mentally unwell, seemingly projecting himself onto others, contradicting himself, and saying things which make little sense, without warning.
Spamton existed as an unsuccessful spam email Addison, overlooked by Lightners and never able to catch a break. Despite his lack of success, he always proclaimed to his fellow Addisons that he would be a "big shot" one day.
Desperate, Spamton began to look for any way to become more popular. Eventually, he came into contact via phone with someone who could help him, and suddenly he began to be wildly successful. From that point on, Spamton was "on the phone all the time," being aided by an unknown person. His fellow Addisons became jealous of him for his sudden success, and stopped going out with him. His success landed him his own room at the Queen's Mansion, and he began to brag more and more about his deals, ranging from TV commercials to cars.
Then, as sudden as his success was, it came crashing down. The stranger helping Spamton vanished, and all his sales went with them. Desperate, Spamton started spending all of his time "praying" in the basement, where he found a "crystal in an old machine" and became obsessed with an "artifact" (the artifact either being the machine or the crystal itself). This machine was created by an unknown Lightner with the help of Swatch and was a digital visualization of their hopes and dreams. However, those dreams never came to be, and the machine was abandoned in the basement with the rest of the corrupted data.
With nothing left, Spamton was to be evicted from the Queen's mansion. The day of his eviction, one of the Addisons went to visit Spamton, but found he had already left. Spamton had left his phone hanging off the handle. Spamton presumably left in the middle of a conversation, as the Addison could hear someone on the other end, but after putting the phone to their ear it only made "garbage noise."
Abandoned by all of his friends, Spamton was reduced to living in a dumpster in a Cyber City alleyway.
- #30Tasque
Keys: Tasque
Tasque's appearance resembles a cat. Their body parts are square-shaped, except for their tail. They are entirely white with a few cyan spots, including their ears, eyes and the tip of their tail. They also possess a mouth with fangs, but it is not visible unless they are meowing.
Tasque acts like a cat and makes sounds that resemble meowing. Its name is a reference to computer tasks, an abstraction referring to the units of work performed by computers, and as such can be managed by Tasque Manager.
- #31Tasque Manager
Keys: Tasque Manager
Tasque Manager is a cybernetic Darkner with a passing resemblance to a cat. She has a white, diamond-shaped head, big yellow eyes with two long eyelashes, and a crescent-shaped mouth, which shows that the interior of her head is blue. From the back of her head a tuft of blue hair sticks out, and on the top of her head a pair of pointed blue protrusions resembling cat ears stick out. From her backside a plug with a long blue cord sticks out, resembling a cat's tail.
She wears a white outfit similar to a qipao, with a collar, shoulder pads, and a blue band around her waist. Under the qipao she wears black leggings which end in white boots with blue toes.
She is completely armless, with disembodied hands: the palms are white, while her fingers are blue. In her left hand she holds a blue whip that ends in a ball with four yellow spikes sticking out of it, like that of a morning star.
As the Queen's maid and the Tasques' handler, Tasque Manager does her best to keep order in the Queen's Mansion. She is fond of her Tasques, taking pride in their good behavior. Additionally, she also may serve as some form of pest control in the mansion. She despises clowns due to encountering Jevil at one point in time, but it's likely because they represent disorder and unruliness. She despises him as well for his predilection for chaos.
- #32Berdly
Keys: Burghley, Berdly, Nerdly
Berdly resembles a large avian with blue feathers, a yellow beak, and yellow legs. He wears black framed glasses, a collared white button-up shirt with striped sleeves, and a black shirt layered underneath.
In the Dark World, Berdly's feathers are a lighter shade of blue, and the whites of his eyes are bright green. He wears a "Smart Scouter" on his head that consists of an orange tinted lens and two white and green pointed headsets. His ensemble consists of an orange cape, futuristic white armor with pointed shoulder guards, bracers and leg armor. He wears a black bodysuit underneath this armor, and has green cloth wrapped around his waist. In battle, Berdly uses a green laser halberd with a yellow ax blade and yellow eyes embedded into the blade's head.
Berdly is sarcastic, arrogant, projects great self-esteem, and considers himself one of the smartest students of his class. He is shown to be very disdainful of his fellow classmates (especially Susie), but has respect for Noelle, whom he considers the actual smartest student.
Berdly is very unaware of how others perceive him. For instance, he is oblivious to Noelle's contempt and thinks she is in love with him and also fails to understand that Queen views him as her minion rather than an ally.
Despite his arrogant and annoying disposition, Berdly is shown to not be as clever as he says he is, as demonstrated by his inability to solve puzzles. He eventually confesses that he never really thought he was as intelligent as he claimed, and that he was only able to get good grades because Noelle helped him with his homework. His insecurities begin to eat him alive to a point where he feels everyone's expectations of him are so high, he can't imagine how it feels if he can't live up to them, or even what happens if he can't get along without Noelle's, or anyone else's, help.
Berdly is also a huge video game fanatic and seeks a partner who shares this interest. He does, however, despise mobile video games.
As a child, Berdly was considered forgettable to his peers, and few even bothered to remember his name. His only friend was Noelle Holiday, his classmate and study partner.
One day, at the school spelling bee, Noelle and Berdly were the final two contestants standing, as they had studied together the night before in preparation. However, Noelle suddenly became nervous and couldn't speak when spelling the word "December," handing the victory to Berdly. Berdly did not believe he deserved to win, but found he enjoyed the attention and praise he received from his peers, and quickly became addicted to the idea of "being smart."
Since then, Berdly always worked to be "Number 1" in his class, worrying that he may not live up to everyone's high expectations. He secretly knew that Noelle was smarter than him, and continued studying with her over the years to maintain his good grades.
- #33QC's Diner
Keys: QC's Diner
QC's diner is a local diner in Hometown, located on a street corner to the east of ICE-E's P"e"zza. Boasting a homey atmosphere, it contains three booths and a cafe counter with bar stools. Kris and their family used to go there every sunday.
- #34Noelle Holiday
Keys: Hochi Mama, Noelle, Noelle Holiday, Elly, holidaygirl1225
Noelle is a reindeer-like monster with short brown fur, a red nose, freckled cheeks, and prominent front teeth, as well as a pair of small antlers atop her head. She walks upright, and has long golden blonde hair. She wears a red and green checkered sweater with dark grey sleeves and a dark grey skirt.
In the Dark World, her hair becomes pale blonde and her fur obtains a pinkish tone. She also wears a long white dress/robe with a hood and ample sleeves.
Noelle lives on the northwest side of Hometown with her mother, the Mayor, and her father, Rudy, who is currently in the hospital with an unnamed illness.
Noelle is friendly and cheerful, but also very timid, and sometimes has trouble saying what she's thinking. She apologizes often, and stays quiet about her feelings, such as her possible crushes, or her distaste for Berdly, out of fear. Her father says that "everything scares her," and describes her as "defenseless." According to him, she has a fear of humans hiding under her bed. This was made worse (or started) by Kris's repeated attempts to scare her when they were younger, including at least one time they hid under her bed. She shows to be more honest to Kris when it comes to her feelings and often yells at them when they pull pranks on her.
Noelle apparently has tendencies of masochism, particularly fantasizing about Susie bullying her for various things.
However, Noelle does have brash moments that push aside her shy behavior. An example of this was when Berdly admits that he may have feelings for Susie, which causes Noelle to angrily shake him since she has a crush on Susie as well.
Noelle grew up in Hometown with a loving father and a strict mother, and was very close with her older sister, Dess. As a child, Noelle and her sister became friends with her neighbors Kris and Asriel Dreemurr, and the four of them would often explore the forest around the graveyard together. One day, however, an unspecified tragedy occurred, and it is implied that Dess either died or went missing.
At some point, likely when she was quite young, Noelle nearly won a spelling bee, but froze up and couldn't speak when spelling the word "December", which handed the victory to Berdly since the word reminded her of Dess.
- #35Kris Dreemurr
Keys: Kris, Krissy, Kris Dreemurr, Crisper, Krisp, Krismas
Kris is a human teenager with an amber skin tone and messy, shoulder-length dark maroon hair. They wear a long-sleeve lime shirt with one horizontal yellow stripe, and nondescript pants and shoes. One of Kris's distinct traits is that their long bangs cast a shadow that hides the upper half of their face. In the brief moments they tear the SOUL out of their body, their red eyes can glow in the dark. One of their crimson eyes is also visible for a few frames when they descend into a Dark World.
In a Dark World, Kris's entire appearance transforms, making them resemble a knight. Kris dons silver armor: shoulder pauldrons, a cuirass, gauntlets, and boots. They wear a navy blue bodysuit underneath the set, and a pink cape drapes across their right shoulder. Finally, Kris's skin changes to cyan, and their hair transits to navy. The shading for their skin is also used for their cape, giving the illusion of blue stripes.
- #36Susie
Keys: Susie
Susie appears to be a tall, purple, vaguely reptilian monster with messy aubergine hair and clawed hands. She has large eyes with yellow scleras, freckles at the sides of her face, and yellow fangs. Her attire consists of a long purple cardigan, a light blue trimmed white shirt, a pair of torn jeans and a pair of black shoes.
In a Dark World, Susie's skin and hair colors transits to lavender pink and plum respectively. Her clothes are replaced with a long black vest with purple trims, a sleeveless purple shirt, baggy plum pants, and black boots with golden soles. She also has two black bracelets with yellow spikes on each arm, and a black belt with a large golden heart buckle.
Susie is known for being rude, vulgar, as well as making sarcastic or brutally honest remarks. She can threaten with physical violence, such as biting off someone's face. In a Dark World, she is willing to attack Darkners if they are perceived as enemies.
However, Susie has a different temperament to those who are kind to her. With friends, she is expressive, willing to talk about herself, and ask for their opinions. Susie favors teasing her friends, and is more observant of their emotions. She makes an effort to be considerate, and tries to not push them to talk about a stressful issue. Susie is also loyal, readily wanting to assist a friend if they are in danger or troubled.
She likes compliments, and is easily flattered. Susie also enjoys causing mischief and childish antics, such as trying to fit in a freezer. She appears to like eating in general, including non-food items, and receiving gifts. She is possessive of items given to her.
Susie is implied to have self-esteem issues. She appears convinced that no one likes her, and is oblivious to Noelle's crush on her. She is also aware that she struggles academically. Susie can also occasionally project onto others.
Susie lives in Hometown and attends the same class as Kris, having arrived as a new student at some point. She is close to getting expelled from School due to unknown past incidents. She is universally feared among her classmates and even by Alphys, due to her appearing to be a threat.
- #37Ralsei
Keys: Ralsei
Ralsei is the prince of Darkness and Castle Town, depicted as a short Darkner. Ralsei wears a pointed green wizard hat which covers his horns, as well as concealing his entire face in shadow. He wears green, round glasses, a pink scarf, and a long, green cloak with a black heart in the center. Without his glasses, his eyes are visibly pink-colored with detailed eyelashes and what appears to be pink eyeshadow.
Ralsei is very humble and kind, showing genuine care for the well-being of his friends to the point of selflessness. Nevertheless, Ralsei remains convinced that there's good in people and that fighting is not necessary in this world.
Ralsei enjoys baking cakes, especially for his friends. Despite his occasionally bossy behavior, he is himself prone to being the one bossed around, especially by Susie. He becomes flustered when receiving gifts or affection, likely due to his past isolation and lack of familiarity with others.
Although gentle and shy, Ralsei is equally courageous, as he seldom retreats in the face of danger and displays no fear in life-threatening situations.
Ralsei also differs from other Darkners in that he is able to survive in any Dark World without turning to stone. He is also aware of the connection between a Dark World and the Light World.
Until meeting Kris and Susie, Ralsei lived alone in Castle Town, not having any subjects despite his title of prince. It is unclear if the others inhabitants ever existed at some point. Ralsei knew about the Prophecy and waited for Kris and Susie before finally meeting them.
- #38Dealmaker
Keys: Dealmaker
Spamton's signature pink and yellow mismatching glasses, referred to as the Dealmaker.
- #39KeyGen
Keys: KeyGen
A shady-looking program in the shape of a green key that can open certain doors, namely the basement of the Queen's mansion. Spamton created it right before he was evicted from the mansion.
- #40Undyne
Keys: Undyne
Undyne is the Chief of Police for Hometown. She is an anthropomorphic thin, blue-skinned, fish-like monster with a long, red ponytail, gill-like appendages on the sides of her head, and jagged yellow teeth. She wears a navy blue police uniform, complete with navy blue tints.
Undyne is hot-blooded and enthusiastic, and shows passion in everything she does, including things she does badly, such as singing. Her passionate nature leads her to overreact to minor incidents and she becomes easily bored with the low level of crime in Hometown, indicating that she would prefer to have some sort of action occur during the course of her duties. She eagerly looks forward to beating up any criminals or wrongdoers, is good at sports, and plays the piano.
Undyne was appointed as police chief after Asgore was removed from the position under unknown circumstances.
- #41Sans
Keys: Sans
Sans appears as a short, paunchy skeleton with a wide smile and large eye sockets. He wears a blue unzipped hoodie, a white T-shirt underneath, slippers and striped black shorts. Sans also possesses white glowing pupils in his eyes. He is the older brother of Papyrus.
Sans appears to be a laid-back character who enjoys messing around with others for his amusement. He also seems to be amiable towards Kris and eager to interact with the citizens of Hometown after moving in recently. It is notable that he deeply cares for the well-being of his younger brother. Sans enjoys making jokes and puns, as shown when he interacted with Toriel in his store after she forgot the eggs she brought. Despite this, Sans is capable of sensing tension amongst others.
He runs a small grocery store named after himself.
- #42Toriel
Keys: Toriel, Toriel Dreemurr
Toriel is a Monster whose head resembles a white-furred Nubian Goat, structured with floppy ears and tiny horns. She has a pair of visible fangs and long eyelashes, and her irises have a dark red tint. She has an anthropomorphic body, with paws at the end of her limbs. She favors casual clothes, which consists of an iris long-sleeve jacket, a black blouse, and a polka-dot skirt. She also wears a heart pendant and color matching glasses.
Toriel has a kind and motherly temperament, as she is a parent to Asriel and Kris; and is a teacher for the younger students at the local school. She is tidy and old-fashioned, as her house has a landline telephone, as well as a television with an external antenna; her interests include baking, teaching, reading, snails, and puns. Toriel is religious and keeps a book of hymns in her home.
Toriel is also prone to being judgmental. She appears to expect trouble from Kris since she recalls their past mischief, such as the time they put a bath bomb in the toilet, and emphasizes that Kris should not consume all the pie. Her judgmental nature extends to her severed relationship with Asgore. While she refrains from criticizing Asgore directly in front of Kris and allows them to freely visit him, she lets her disdainful feelings toward him show on her face, and rebuffs his attempts at reconciliation.
In her younger years, Toriel went to college parties with Rudy Holiday, who describes her as "fuzzy n' sweet on the outside, a total NUT on the inside!" Though initially reluctant to cut loose, she tended to get very excited, and once hit Rudy clear across the room with a key lime pie.
At her wedding to Asgore, she carried a bouquet of seven flowers. They had a son, Asriel, and later adopted Kris, bringing the two children up like siblings. When she learned that Asriel had kissed "someone," she reacted badly and the family went to Church practically every day that week. The family used to order the special at the QC Diner on Sundays after service. At some point, Toriel divorced or separated from Asgore, retaining the house and becoming the primary caretaker of their children.
Toriel works as a teacher at the local school, as she teaches younger students. Her name, written as "Ms. Toriel" on the blackboard, has not been erased for a while.
- #43Asgore Dreemurr
Keys: Asgore, Asgore Dreemurr
Asgore is a large, white-furred monster with a goat-like appearance with an intimidating stature. He has broad shoulders, a golden-blond mane, two large curved horns, and a beard. He has patches of gold fur that resemble hair on his head and arms. Asgore appears to be more fat with a large gut rather than the broad-chested Herculean build he portrays: albeit he keeps his wide bulky appearance, his tall stature and especially his overall muscular limbs. He dresses in a Hawaiian T-shirt which is pink in color and has white flowers alongside a simple pair of blue jeans.
He lives alone in the flower shop "Flower King" in Hometown, and is Kris and Asriel's father.
Asgore is affectionate and eager to please, but acts somewhat thoughtlessly and oversteps boundaries. He dwells on his past relationship with Toriel, and tries to reconnect with her and his children whenever he has the chance.
He apparently lives irresponsibly and does not take very good care of himself; he lives in squalor, his car is filthy, and he owes rent to a "C" which he is unable to pay due to his generosity with his flowers.
He is on good terms with his neighbors, the Holiday family (Noelle, Rudy, and his wife). Asgore and Rudy were themselves college roommates, and Rudy was the best man at his wedding to Toriel.
Asgore was previously married to Toriel, although the relationship soured and they subsequently divorced. He served on the police force as chief, but due to an unspecified incident, he was removed and Undyne was promoted to take over his position. It is not clear what this incident is, but when Kris finds an article about it, they skim over the headline and quickly stop reading.
- #44Flower King
Keys: Flower King
The "Flower King" is a flower shop owned by Asgore. Albeit, it's a failing business. It hardly ever gets more than one customer, no less a sale, due to the town's lack of demand in such.
- #45Rudolph Holiday
Keys: Rudy Holiday, Rudolph Holiday
Rudy is a monster who resembles a reindeer. He has tan fur, a deep voice, a narrow face, dark hair, and wears a thin mustache and goatee. He is currently hospitalized and wears a white sleeveless hospital gown. He is the bedridden father of Noelle and Dess.
A jovial and lighthearted person, Rudy resembles Sans in his use of humor and jokes to lighten the mood, and is lively and talkative despite his medical condition. He is close with and protective of Noelle and likes playing video games with her. He is supportive of Noelle's desire to pursue her crush on Susie but dislikes her schoolmate Berdly, calling him "Nerdly" and facetiously threatening to throw something at him through the hospital window.
Rudy was college classmates with Asgore Dreemurr and knew Toriel through the campus's social scene, describing Asgore as shy in company and Toriel as "a total NUT!" who once hit him across the room with a key lime pie at a party. The first time he met Noelle's mother, he immediately told her she was "a HOT piece of work," and she slapped him so hard he blacked out.
He witnessed Asgore and Toriel's courtship, was Asgore's best man at the wedding, and retained affection for them even after the two families drifted apart. He remembers Kris, not without affection, as "the creepy kid next door" who used to scare Noelle for fun and once got entangled in the family's decorative lights.
Rudy is currently hospitalized for an illness, confined to bed rest and coughing if he laughs too hard. He keeps a faceless angel doll made by Noelle and Dess in his hospital room as a good-luck charm. A bouquet of roses from Asgore and a get-well card signed by Toriel and Kris are on his bedside table.
- #46Dess Holiday
Keys: Dess Holiday, Dess, December Holiday
December "Dess" Holiday is the oldest daughter of Rudolph Holiday and Mayor Holiday, and the older sister of Noelle Holiday. She has gone missing and still is today, which has so much as traumatized Noelle by just thinking about her.
Very little is known for certain about Dess, but, according to Noelle, Dess was very protective of her when they were growing up together, often comforting Noelle in terrifying situations, or defending her from Kris's antics.
