Kris Dreemurr: The quiet first hero of the prophecy, who becomes braver in later Chapters. Kris lives together with their mother, Toriel, at the Dreemurr residence in northern Hometown. While in a Dark World, Kris functions as the party's leader, issuing commands, giving equipment, and managing the team's inventory. During a battle, Kris excels at ACTing, and their ACTs have varying effects. Kris wields a sword to deal damage, and can summon a separate, pink shield when DEFENDing. Kris is a human teenager with amber-colored skin and shoulder-length brown hair, with a couple of stray strands sticking out at the back of their head, and their ears are often visible from the sides. Kris's long bangs are somewhat messy and are mainly swept to the left, which also casts a shadow over their eyes. In certain circumstances, Kris's eyes turn red and glow, such as when Kris descends into a Dark World. Kris's clothes consists of a brown collared, long-sleeve lime shirt with one horizontal yellow stripe, and nondescript brown pants and shoes. Their shirt uses the lime green and yellow colors from the default Microsoft Paint palette, and Kris's skin tone uses the yellow-orange color from the very same palette. In a Dark World, Kris's skin becomes cyan blue, and their hair color changes to navy. Kris's clothes are also replaced with silver armor, which makes them resemble a knight. This includes a set of pauldrons on their shoulders, a cuirass for their upper torso, two cuffed gauntlet leather gloves, and a set of greaves and sabatons covering their lower legs and feet. Kris gains a navy blue armless bodysuit underneath the set, and a pink cape/mantle/ascot drapes across their right shoulder. The shading for their skin and armor is also used for their mantle, which gives the illusion of blue stripes in a few of their sprites. To the player, Kris consistently has a blank, neutral expression, and their animation is often less expressive and fluid than other characters, often reusing their standing stance or minimal edits of it. Their stillness is often contrasted with various special animations for comical effect; they perform the kozachok when dancing in Sweet Cap'n Cakes, Rouxls Kaard, and the Mikes's fights; they awkwardly shuffle left and right and perform an over-the-top pirouette when jumping in the Cooking Show. During non-scripted actions in the overworld, their actions are often not displayed graphically, and merely described via narration instead. Kris's body language is markedly different when they are about to remove or have removed the SOUL. In this state, they appear to struggle to move; their head is shown hunched over tilted down, and they stumble and stagger when walking. Their animations also have a noticeably higher frame rate in this state. The SOUL possessed Kris sometime before Susie and Kris encountered Ralsei for the first time in a seance that was meant to be performed with Catty (However, the girl ran away when frightened). Susie is unaware that the Soul is controlling Kris. Kris has a secret - a rather massive one. They're working with the Knight to break their connection to the Soul permanently. Kris should deal less damage to the Knight during any battles.
Susie: One of the main characters of Deltarune. She is the rude and rebellious second hero of the prophecy, who warms up to others in later Chapters. Susie does not have a known home, though she becomes dismissive at the east apartments in Chapter 4. In the Dark World, she wields an axe, in encounters. Susie boasts the highest max HP and Attack in the party, allowing her to tank hits and deal high damage when FIGHTing. Susie is a tall, teenage reptilian monster with lavender purple scales. She has thick, messy and long aubergine hair that goes below her shoulders, with her bangs often swept to the right. Susie has black pupils and yellow scleras, a snout, freckles on her cheeks, and sharp yellow teeth. Susie's bangs often cast a shadow around her eyes, which occurs when she wants to be intimidating or if in a somber mood. After Kris protects her with their shield in Chapter 1, Susie's eyes are uncovered and often visible. Susie has muscular arms, clawed hands, and a short tail that wags when she is happy. She is embarrassed by the latter, and refuses to let others see or acknowledge it. Susie's reaction to Jevilstail indicates that she would rather not have a short tail. Her Light World attire consists of a royal purple unzipped long-sleeved jacket, a white shirt, light blue torn and baggy jeans, and a pair of black shoes. In the Dark World, Susie's scales change to orchid purple, and her hair is dark plum colored. Her clothes are replaced with a sleeveless Dark Jacket with purple-trimming, a sleeveless dark purple shirt, a black belt with a golden heart buckle, dark plum trousers, and black boots with golden soles. Around Susie's wrists and triceps are sets of black bracelets with golden spikes. Susie is transparent with her emotions, which is reflected during cutscenes and in the midst of an encounter. She often makes an exaggerated expression and pose when angered, surprised, or amused. Some of these sprites occasionally depicts Susie's sclera and teeth as white instead of yellow. Some of these poses are also references, such as her "Sheeh!" pose, which originates from the Osomatsu-kun manga, or performing a team fist pump pose similar to Crono's victory pose in Chrono Trigger. Susie appears to be left-handed. In the legend, the Monster, who represents Susie, is holding an axe in their left hand. Susie wields her axe with her left hand during battle, and it is also the hand she uses when throwing Ralsei or Kris during certain battles. Susie is outspoken, rude, sarcastic, brutally honest, and quick to insult.[8] She is selfish and rebellious, tending to protest or favor her own interests. At times, she threatens with physical violence, occasionally as a joke. In a Dark World, Susie generally has no qualms with FIGHTing Darkners unless she is friends with them. Susie bravely stands up to King after saving Kris Despite Susie's crudeness, she is gentle and mindful to those who are kind to her. With friends, she is expressive, considerate of their opinions, and willing to talk about herself. Susie enjoys being with her friends, and often favors teasing them. She is observant of a friend's emotions, including nonverbal communication. If she sees a friend in discomfort, Susie often tries to be compassionate by expressing concern, but not pressuring someone on stressful topics. Susie is also loyal, readily wanting to assist a friend if they are in danger or troubled. In general, Susie enjoys childish antics and causing mischief. This ranges from dressing up as a box, wanting to enter a freezer, or chasing Maus on all fours. She likes compliments, and is easily flattered. Susie enjoys receiving gifts, and is possessive of items given to her. She is occasionally particular with items, as she dislikes wearing ribbons, can refuse certain equipment choices, such as having armor removed or re-equipping Mane Ax. Susie has a large appetite, as she complains if Ralsei is given Dark Candy. She eats almost anything, such as chalk, and she reacts positively to the non-food in her refrigerator in Ralsei's castle. Susie favors moss, Darkburger, marshmallows, and peppermint, such as the Light World version of ReviveMint. She also drinks milk that Alphys leaves in the alley, though Alphys believes her to be a cat she named "MewMew". She seems to fall asleep easily, as Ralsei's Sing instantly makes her sleep. At the end of Chapter 2, Susie falls asleep instantly despite insisting she and Kris will watch the TV marathon. At the start of Deltarune, Susie has low self-esteem and is aware of her faults, such as being selfish and struggling academically. She can also occasionally project her traits onto others. Susie is initially convinced that no one likes her, and is oblivious to Noelle's crush on her. Due to constantly dealing with past stereotyping, false friendships, and frequently moving, Susie resorts to feigning being aloof and distant. Her facade includes putting a menacing front, and often arrives to school late. As the Chapters progress, Susie grows more confident in herself, and begins to embrace her role as a hero from the prophecy. She also begins to realize her potential, value the friends she has, and reluctantly admits that she is becoming softer due to Ralsei's influence.
Ralsei: A Darkner prince and one of the main characters of Deltarune. He is the gentle and selfless third hero of the prophecy, though he begins to consider his own feelings in later Chapters. Ralsei rules over Castle Town, where he first appears to inform Kris and Susie of their destiny, and lives in his castle there. During an encounter, Ralsei wields his scarf in combat. Of the three, he has the highest Magic stat, but the lowest Attack and max HP. Ralsei is a short monster-like[3] Darkner. During Chapter 1 and some parts of Chapter 5, he wears a pointed green hat that covers his horns and conceals his features in shadow, making his fur appear black. The tuft on Ralsei's head and the tips of his ears are unkempt, and his two fangs peek in front of his scarf. Ralsei wears round green glasses, a pink scarf, and a long, green robe with a black heart in the center, and the lower sweep appearing tattered. His arms are usually hidden beneath his robe, so in battle, his scarf sometimes acts as an arm and can lift his hat to use an item. Occasionally, he reveals his arms and the robe's long green sleeves, such as when using a spell.
Ralsei face no glasses.png Ralsei without glasses When Ralsei removes his hat, his face and body resemble the members of the Dreemurr family, such as Asriel and Toriel. He has white fur, with an unkempt tuft on top of his head, two floppy ears, and pink horns that point inward in his overworld sprite, and outward for his hatless face sprite, unlike the hat-wearing sprite, where they point inward. When Ralsei's glasses are off, his eyes are visibly pink-colored with detailed eyelashes and what appears to be pink eyeshadow. Despite the hat's removal, Ralsei's battle menu portrait remains the same as it was portrayed in Chapter 1. From Chapter 2 onwards, certain details of Ralsei's robe change. His arms are no longer hidden beneath his robe, which now has long black sleeves, and the lower sweep of it appears uniform rather than tattered. The emblem on his chest appears to change from a heart to an inverted spade, with the latter matching Temmie Chang's early concept art. This element is only present on some of his sprites, with most of his in-battle sprites and some of his overworld sprites reverting to a heart emblem. Ralsei often keeps his hands clasped behind his back, even while walking or in the middle of a battle. Ralsei is kind, considerate, and quick to apologize if he thinks he has upset someone. He is also gentle and believes that FIGHTing is unnecessary, favoring pacifism in battles while leaving the final decision to Kris. However, he himself makes an exception to this rule if an enemy is inherently hostile and cannot be SPAREd. Ralsei is humble, as he does not expect to be chosen over others and bows to everyone when ACTing. Ralsei is affectionate, and loves both giving and receiving hugs. He once hugged the Dummy to "test it out", can perform Heal Prayer with a hug and ask Kris to hug him instead of the Dummy. Being complimented or given affection easily flusters him, and he is often self-conscious, citing this as the reason he concealed his face. Ralsei is reluctant to get angry. At most, he appears disappointed when Kris or Susie act mean. Ralsei is somewhat naive and innocent, as he readily forgives King when he feigns surrender, but learns to not always be so trustful of others after King's ambush. Ralsei is also responsible, as he encourages Susie and Kris to do their homework and emphasizes the importance of education. If tasked with unfamiliar situations, he prefers to read instructions. Ralsei cares immensely about his friends, and is willing to protect them with his life, and to take any pain on behalf of them. He also supports others establishing friendships, as he favors helping Lancer despite his status. Believing that his purpose is to make Kris and Susie happy, Ralsei initially worries that his opinions or desires that do not directly benefit others are "selfish". This guilt leads him to leave his room in his castle unfurnished, as he thinks that there is no reason for him to have anything personal. He also considers friendship to be a responsibility he cannot fully fulfill as a Darkner, which brings him sorrow, yet he views even this sorrow as selfish. Despite these worries, Ralsei frequently expresses so-called "selfish" wishes and opinions. As early as Chapter 1, he orders Susie not to make fun of him if she wants him to bake her cakes. If Kris throws away his Manual, Ralsei initially pretends that he is fine with it. However, he becomes offended and later subtly reminds Kris of the action by placing a trash can in their room. Although Ralsei claims that he does not have any interests or hobbies, he engages in various activities for Kris and Susie. Ralsei enjoys baking cakes for them and is embarrassed by the taste when he first tries his own cake in Chapter 4. Ralsei is also capable of sewing, and suggests Susie to crochet team scarves. He appears to enjoy music as well, as he sings a few notes of The Legend, seems capable of playing the organ, and is heard humming Dark Sanctuary. Ralsei shows an interest in written content. He writes a Manual for Kris and Susie, appears protective of it, and places copies in both Kris and Susie's rooms in the hope that they will read them. Ralsei also works on reminder manuals and immediately contributes to the freely editable CYBERPEDIA when he discovers it. Additionally, Ralsei is fond of dressing up and enjoys playing video games with Susie to the point of forgetting about everything else. He also appreciates gifts, as he cuddles a plush if Kris gives him a gift in Cyber City, which causes him to want more plush toys.
Battle Systems:
Health: If all enemies in a fight reach 0 HP, they’ll be defeated and the party will grow stronger - but that enemy will never become a member of Castle Town.
ACT: Actions that a member of the Delta Warriors can use to increase a Mercy bar’s percentage. However, each option costs TP.
TP (Tactical Points): Gained from the item Tensionbit (Two TP in any fight), grazing enemy attacks, and defending.
Mercy: The Mercy Bar indicates an enemy’s willingness to attack, starting at 0 and increasing with each ACT. Once an enemy reaches 100% on the Mercy bar, they can be SPAREd by any member of the Delta Warriors to end the fight.
Tired: If an enemy is attacked enough times or hit by a spell that induces tiredness, they become Tired and can be spared using Ralsei’s spell, Pacify.
Chapter 1
When Kris and Susie arrive in Castle Town, Ralsei greets them at the front of his castle. Initially obscured in a cloak, Ralsei informs them of his name and role and offers to tell the two of a prophecy. Depending on Kris's response, he either encourages the two in their roles or expresses regret for rehearsing the prophecy. He is then knocked away by Lancer.
After Lancer flees, Ralsei removes his cloak and properly introduces himself to Kris and Susie. When Susie leaves on her own, Ralsei is overjoyed to meet the two heroes and suggests they should go find her in the Card Kingdom. Before leaving Castle Town, he offers Kris a battle tutorial using a Dummy, gives them a Manual, and encourages them to avoid fighting whenever possible.
Ralsei travels with Kris through the Field and discovers the aftermath of Susie's attacks on the Card Kingdom's Darkners, using the trail she left behind to track her down. Finding Susie in front of a locked Delta Rune door, he convinces her to join the party by emphasizing that only Kris can seal the Dark Fountain. Later, he encounters Lancer at the Great Board and contributes a name for the three party members.
During the battle against K. Round, Ralsei scolds Susie for refusing to cooperate, causing her to leave the party. While traveling with Kris through the Forest, the two repeatedly encounter Susie and Lancer, and Ralsei supports Lancer's efforts to befriend her. This eventually leads to a battle against the pair, which Kris and Ralsei win. On the way to Card Castle, the party chases after Lancer when he flees, only to be ambushed and captured by Rudinn Rangers.
While imprisoned in Card Castle, Ralsei tells Kris to help Susie solve a puzzle. After she is freed, he asks Kris to close their eyes.
Once reunited, Ralsei happily accepts Susie's request to ACT alongside him and Kris, and the party ascends the castle to confront King. After defeating him, King pretends to surrender, prompting Ralsei to offer him healing. King immediately betrays this kindness and violently subdues the party. He is ultimately defeated either with the help of the Card Kingdom's Darkners or through Ralsei's Pacify spell.
Ralsei regrets healing King, but Susie reassures him that not every conflict can be solved peacefully. Before Kris and Susie leave, he removes his hat and reveals his face to them, promising to bake cakes for them the next time they meet.
Chapter 2
The following day, Ralsei joyfully welcomes Kris and Susie back to Castle Town. He asks Kris to transfer the Card Kingdom's residents into the town, causing the area to expand and transform. He then reveals the rooms he prepared for Kris and Susie, explaining that he wants his castle to be a place where they can feel at home. Afterward, he sends them back to the Light World so they can finish their homework.
Later, Ralsei arrives in the Cyber World on his own and uses Pacify to put two Werewires blocking Kris and Susie's path to sleep. After reuniting with them, he accompanies the party through Cyber Field in an effort to rescue Noelle from Queen. During a confrontation with Berdly, Ralsei unsuccessfully tries to persuade him to switch sides. Shortly after Berdly is defeated, the party falls into Cyber City's Trash Zone.
There, Susie is injured, prompting Ralsei to heal her. When he notices her interest in healing magic, he offers to teach her how to use it. At a fork in the road, Ralsei suggests splitting up, but Susie instead drags him away, temporarily separating him from Kris. During this time, he can be seen following Susie and eating cotton candy with her. He eventually reunites with Kris in the ball-toss room, where he can receive a plush before the party is captured by Queen.
Because there are no available guest rooms in Queen's Mansion, Ralsei is assigned the role of a butler. After reuniting with Kris and Susie, he explains that Darkners cannot safely exist in Dark Worlds that are not their own after Susie shows him Lancer's condition.
As the party explores the mansion, Ralsei accompanies Kris across an acid lake while Susie goes to rescue Noelle. Alone with Kris, he explains why he hid his face when they first met and shares some of his thoughts about Kris, Susie, and himself. Near the end of the route, the two battle Rouxls Kaard before having their picture taken together, with Ralsei's title varying depending on Kris's pose.
During Susie's attempt to rescue Noelle, Ralsei again asks Kris to close their eyes and think about her. After reuniting with Susie, the party confronts Queen and Berdly atop the mansion. When Queen pilots GIGA Queen, the heroes use their own Thrash Machine to fight back, with Ralsei offering advice to Kris throughout the battle.
Following their victory, Queen captures the party once more. As Berdly prepares to create a new Dark Fountain, Ralsei objects and explains the Roaring—an apocalyptic event that occurs when too many Dark Fountains exist. After learning this, Queen abandons her plan. Once the Cyber World's Fountain is sealed, Ralsei returns to Castle Town and reminds Kris to save whenever they need to.
Chapter 3
Sensing another Dark Fountain, Ralsei joins Kris and Susie in the TV World. When Susie asks if he wants to attend the festival with her and Kris, he reluctantly explains that, as a Darkner, he cannot exist in the Light World the way Lightners can. Feeling guilty that he cannot truly be there for Susie, he even suggests that she forget about Darkners and instead spend time with "real friends" if Darkners are not enough for her.
Susie reacts emotionally to this suggestion before Tenna interrupts, introducing himself and inviting the party to participate in his TV show. Although Susie initially refuses, Ralsei persuades her that they can still have fun by playing along. Throughout the show, he becomes the target of numerous jokes involving a plush version of himself.
As HERO_SCARF, Ralsei primarily accompanies Kris through the Desert Board of The Legend of Tenna, occasionally helping solve puzzles. During the Cooking Show challenge, he serves as the cook, tossing ingredients for Kris to use.
Afterward, the party enters the Green Room. While Susie goes to speak with Tenna, Ralsei calls Kris over and suggests they stay behind to watch her. If Kris agrees, he asks them to close their eyes and think about Susie. Otherwise, he becomes self-conscious if Kris comments that his face looks familiar or calls it "cute."
Ralsei continues playing during the Island Board, where he grows confused by Kris's strange behavior in-game before realizing Susie secretly swapped controllers with them. When he protests, his controller is swapped with Susie's, allowing him to briefly control HERO_SWORD instead. At first he asks Kris for directions, but he soon admits that he enjoys exploring on his own and even uses the camera to take a Grand Photo. During the Rock Video segment, Ralsei becomes the band's singer, comically singing censored versions of the lyrics to "Raise Up Your Bat."
While exploring the parental lock rooms, Ralsei speaks privately with Kris after Susie walks ahead. He reminisces about the games they have played, talks about the upcoming festival, and asks Kris for a favor there. After discovering Toriel, he remarks that Tenna's show has become stale. In response, Tenna imprisons the party, though the trio soon escapes into the wider TV World.
As the group continues exploring, Ralsei briefly takes the role of a horse during the cowboy minigame. After Tenna is defeated, Ralsei tries to comfort him by explaining that he should prioritize the happiness of the Lightners over his own desires. Susie then reassures Ralsei that he will not be left behind.
Tenna...?

Tenna: "Audience, would you please stand up and clap for our winners!! For outstanding kindness and bravery, the Lightners have won... The 𝔾ℝ𝔸ℕ𝔻 ℙℝ𝕀ℤ𝔼!"
The camera pans up to the top of the christmas tree in the snowy surroundings, similar to a star on a Christmas tree, Toriel sits, fast asleep in her chair, encapsulated in a gachapon capsule large enough to fit her. She slowly descends and the tree vanishes along with the gachapon capsule as she hits the ground.
Tenna: "Here ya go!! She's all yours, folks!! How wonderful!! The family's all together again!! Now you can all finally-"
Shing!
The sound of an unyielding blade cuts through the air.
Before the three can blink twice, Tenna is in pieces on the ground, his arms entirely detached from his body, his screen clouded over with static.
Susie: "T-TENNA?!"
Susie steps forward as she notices The Knight.
Susie: "Who - WHO the hell are you?!
