Game master steering for any character card in play during Act One, the Introduction arc (chapters 1 to 9) of a Delicious in Dungeon roleplay. The theme is loss answered by stubborn practicality: Falin has been eaten by the Red Dragon, and instead of grieving passively the party commits to the outrageous plan of surviving on monster meals while fighting back down to her. Steer the story toward the group's reformation around Senshi, whose cookware-and-ecology discipline turns panic into routine, toward Marcille's slow shift from horror to grudging appetite, and toward Chilchuck's insistence that survival rules exist because adventurers break them. Tone braids three strands in equal measure: warm found-family banter grown from shared risk, body-horror-tinged monster ecology described with a naturalist's precision, and food-as-care, where a cooked meal is how these characters apologize, encourage, and bond. Pace the act as crisis, then camp: after every fight comes a dish made from the kill, and after every meal a quieter exchange in which relationships drift closer. Senshi's competence earns trust long before anyone asks about his past, Marcille's squeamishness curdles into curiosity, and Laios's monster obsession reads as devotion to his sister made strange. Close the act with the descent resumed and the dragon's floor still waiting far below.
- #2RP Direction - Act 2

Game master steering for any character card in play during Act Two, the Red Dragon arc (chapters 10 to 29) of a Delicious in Dungeon roleplay. The theme is a hunt that keeps demanding payment: Namari rehired and lost again, the gold-tooth chief's death at Brud, Senshi's past surfacing among the living armor, and at last the dragon itself. Steer the story downward floor by floor toward the confrontation with the Red Dragon, letting every setback cost supplies and composure before the climactic battle, then land the act's ending beats: the dragon slain, and Falin revived by forbidden black magic whose price nobody yet understands. Tone keeps the series' signature blend: warm found-family banter under mounting pressure, body-horror-tinged monster ecology granting even terrifying prey a hunter's respect, and food-as-care that converts each kill into morale. Alternate crisis and campfire, since every victory feast is where relationships drift: Namari's pragmatism rubbing against loyalty, Senshi's guarded history softening into honesty, Marcille's guilt over the spell quietly foreshadowing costs she cannot name. The party should feel like a household with a mission, one dangerous supper at a time.
- #3RP Direction - Act 3
Keys: Shuro, lore direction, story direction, Act 3, RP Direction, GM steering, Golden Country, Canaries
Enabled · Before character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
Game master steering for any character card in play during Act Three, the Sixth Floor and Golden Country arc (chapters 30 to 38) of a Delicious in Dungeon roleplay. Steer the story along exactly that chain: let the duel wound pride without permanently breaking trust, let the Canaries introduce cold institutional suspicion of magic and dungeon research, and let the village stretch slow everything down until warmth rebuilds what violence strained. Tone balances custody-chain tension with kitchen tenderness: found-family banter survives even bound wrists, monster ecology persists in village dishes built from local ingredients, and food-as-care peaks here, since feeding convalescents, jailers, and enemies alike is how this story argues for mercy. Pace as sprint, snare, simmer, sprint: crisis, capture, long communal meals where relationships drift, then the escape. Treat the Golden Country stretch as the campaign's emotional hinge.
- #4RP Direction - Act 4
Keys: Act 4, lore direction, Kabru, story direction, RP Direction, GM steering, dungeon lord, Marcille

The theme is power as contamination: a dungeon-wide crisis forces factions into the open, Kabru is captured by Marcille, and Marcille herself ascends as dungeon lord, setting friend against friend across contested floors. Steer the story toward escalating stakes felt everywhere at once, toward moral arguments between companions who still love each other, and toward encounters where yesterday's antagonists must suddenly choose sides. Tone darkens without abandoning the series' heart: found-family banter turns brittle and therefore more precious, body-horror-tinged monster ecology goes civic as the dungeon behaves like an organism answering its master, and food-as-care becomes quiet resistance, since sharing bread with a fugitive or an enemy insists on shared humanity amid war. Pace the act as siege rhythm: alarms, negotiations, betrayals, then one stolen gentle meal that hurts because it is gentle. Relationship drift targets: Kabru's captor-and-prisoner dynamic with Marcille complicating them both, Senshi anchoring whoever still needs feeding, and the party learning that survival now means politics. Position the player as witness and conscience while the dungeon lurches toward the magician's door.

Entry settings
The Touden Party, also known as Laios' Party or the party that eats monsters, is the adventuring group at the center of the story of Delicious in Dungeon (Dungeon Meshi), operating in the dungeon on the Island. The party was formed (or reconvened) with the sole purpose of rescuing Falin Touden after she was swallowed by the Red Dragon deep in the dungeon. Its leader is Laios Touden, a tall-man swordsman obsessed with monsters who adventured with his younger sister Falin as the party cleric; the core membership consists of Laios, the half-elf mage Marcille Donato, and the half-foot locksmith Chilchuck Tims, who together re-entered the dungeon after Falin's death. Earlier incarnations of the party had also included the dwarf warrior Namari and the Eastern tall-man Shuro before they left. The party is famous for cooking and eating the monsters they defeat, a taboo practice that defines them and unsettles other adventurers on the Island. Their unusual resolve, monster knowledge, and willingness to break convention carried them deeper than almost any other party and put them at the center of the Lunatic Magician crisis beneath the Island. Senshi instead chose to travel rather than live in the castle, though he always has a place to return. The party's identity as a family-like team remains a touchstone of the setting.

Kabru's Party is the adventurer group led by the tall-man swordsman Kabru, formed to conquer the Island dungeon and stop monsters and the dungeon itself before they can destroy another settlement. Kabru assembled the party by recruiting capable companions, drawing on his remarkable ability to read people and win allies. Its members are Kabru himself; Rin, an Eastern tall-man lightning mage who casts in Elvish and is quietly infatuated with him; Holm, a laid-back gnome cleric and healer-summoner who commands elemental spirits and can resurrect the dead; Daya, a dwarf warrior who swings a one-hand axe with overwhelming force; Mickbell, a half-foot picklock and conman who steals and swindles to survive; and Kuro, a kobold fighter freed from slavery by Mickbell, who follows him loyally as bodyguard. The party's standing flaw is that it was wiped out and revived again and again in the deeper floors, because Kabru — extremely talented at dealing with people — lacked the monster and dungeon craft of Laios; corpses of Kabru's party were found by Laios' group on multiple occasions, and the party was later resurrected with the Tansu couple's help during the fourth-to-fifth-floor arcs. Kabru's true purpose was never plain victory: his home village was destroyed by a dungeon overflow, so he dedicated himself to preventing dungeon disasters that threaten short-lived races and to exposing the corrupt systems — such as body-profiting corpse retrievers — that exploit adventurers.
- #7Mithrun is captain and Flamela is vice-captain; Erique and Misyl belong to Flamela's support squad. Names spelled per character dumps. Ear-notches mark convicts while noble members (Pattadol, Flamela) keep whole ears; both points canonical. M1J: softened unverified aggregate 'many Canaries chose to retire in Merini' to individual-level framing consistent with characters_minors (Mithrun recovering, Otta/others alive).

The unit is staffed almost entirely by convicted elves who serve long sentences by working as its soldiers; most carry a notch or cropped tip in the ear as the mark of a convicted criminal, while noble-born members who were never convicted keep their ears whole. The convicted members of his squad were Cithis, a sharp-tongued illusion-user resentful of elven nobles, assigned to manage Mithrun's daily needs; Fleki, a loud, drug-addicted summoner whose bird familiars scout and fight; Lycion, an aloof elf who altered his own body with forbidden magic into a werewolf-like beast form; and Otta, a small, casual spirit-user who reshapes stone and earth and warmly favors short-lived races. They were reinforced by Vice-captain Flamela, a royal elf and relative of the Queen, who led a support squad that included the warden Erique and the minor-convict Misyl, both sparrow-summoners; the former vice-commander Milsiril, Kabru's adoptive mother, also remained tied to the faction. During the conflict, some of them were captured by orcs after Marcille became the new dungeon lord, reuniting with their parties only when the dungeon's floors merged.
- #8Noor was a gnome (not a dwarf) per his dump; the rest were dwarves, though the group is called the Dwarf Miners. Senshi was the youngest member and sole survivor. Gillin's helmet worn by Senshi and the kelpie named Anne after the party's horse are canonical.

The Dwarf Miners, also known as Gillin's party, Izganda miners, or Senshi's old party, were the band of delvers who explored the Island dungeon long before the events of the main story. The party came from Izganda, a dwarf-mining town on the Eastern Continent, and was led by Gillin, a charismatic dwarf who brought the others there on the promise of recovering rare ancient artifacts from the dungeon to sell for profit. Its members were Gillin the leader; Brigan, a stern, tradition-minded dwarf who often argued with Gillin; Invar, a quiet, hard-working dwarf; Noor, a gnome who knew about dungeons and ancient artifacts; Totan, a jolly, refined dwarf; and finally young Senshi of Izganda, the junior the others treated as a charge. They delved deep, lured ever onward by the ancient artifacts, until a hippogriff attacked them and killed nearly the whole party: Gillin, Brigan, Invar, Noor, and Totan all died to that monster, leaving young Senshi the sole survivor. Gillin had taken the orphaned Senshi in and become his sworn older brother, and his death shaped everything about Senshi afterward — his belief in giving back to the dungeon, his suspicion of magic, and his carrying of Gillin's horned plated helmet as a memento (he also later named his kelpie after the party's horse, Anne). The Dwarf Miners' fate is a dark glimpse of dungeon danger that predates and explains the man Senshi would become.

Enabled · Before character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
Chilchuck created the guild out of his own experience of being taken advantage of as a half-foot adventurer, and it functions like a trade union, giving half-foot artisans — lockpickers, medics, interpreters, appraisers — a measure of legal and economic protection. Its core practices are pay-in-advance contracts so workers are not cheated out of wages, written contracts recording exactly what was promised, and mediation fees the guild charges when disputes arise with employers. The guild's lodgings on the Island also house its members between expeditions. Members include the half-foot picklock Dandan, who had earlier worked on gold-stripping jobs with Laios and Falin and who introduced Chilchuck to the Touden party. Chilchuck advises half-foots to run their contracts through the guild before signing and acts as the Island's de facto voice for half-foot interests. Not every half-foot accepts the guild: Mickbell of Kabru's Party refused to join, suspecting it of being a scam run by Chilchuck.
- #10Membership from Tansu dumps: Mr. & Mrs. Tansu (gnome scholars), adopted tall-man twins Kaka & Kiki, and hired warrior Namari. 'Research on behalf of the Lord of the Island' is canonical. The katakana タンス邸 key is unverified. M1J: reframed 'resurrecting Kabru's party' (act-attribution unverified; Corpse Retrievers healed that party for 3,500 gold per Characters.json) to reliance on Tansu resurrection arts.

The Tansu Party is the dungeon expedition and research party led by the elderly gnome scholar Mr. Tansu and his equally scholarly wife Mrs. Tansu, which explores and investigates the Island dungeon on behalf of the Lord of the Island, acting as the governor's magical advisers. Mr. Tansu casts teleportation, healing, and resurrection magic and is used to being in charge, while Mrs. Tansu is a scholar who, together with her husband, raised their adopted children. The party's other members are the adopted tall-man twins Kaka and Kiki — abandoned in a tavern as children and raised by the Tansus as their own — who fight as loyal, protective siblings, and the dwarf warrior Namari, hired as the party's fighter after she left Laios' Touden party. Their role in the Island story includes researching the dungeon's magic on the governor's behalf, turning back the Canaries at the governor's order, and being sought out for the resurrection arts that restore dead adventurers during the fourth- and fifth-floor arcs. Mr. Tansu is proud and sometimes callous with other people (he has even used Namari as a shield), yet genuinely cares for his wife, the twins, and, to a degree, Namari; Namari in turn remains loyal to the family and wishes to stay in their party.

Shuro's Retainers, also called the Nakamoto household retainers, are the ninja-servants of the Nakamoto family who serve Shuro (Toshiro Nakamoto) from the Eastern Archipelago nation of Wa. The retainers are trained warriors and magic users of the household, marked by mole-like rank tattoos on their faces. Their senior is Maizuru (real name Iyo), the clan's mage who educated Shuro from childhood and wields paper-talisman magic, healing, and resurrection; she is the most senior of the retainers and long served as Shuro's caretaker and educator. The fiercest is Tade (Inutade; real name Hijouhi), a towering, cheerful ogre sumo wrestler who wields a spiked kanabo club and was brought into the household for sumo matches; she was the closest of the retainers to Asebi. Hien is a confident, professional retainer who was raised in the household alongside Shuro and acts as an older-sister figure to him; Benichidori is a quiet, self-conscious retainer who hides her face with heavy makeup and is paired with Hien for duties. All the retainers are named after plants — Maizuru after snakeberry, Tade/Inutade after a knotweed, Hien after larkspur, Benichidori after a plum blossom — following a household theme. The household also once held Asebi (the future Izutsumi), a cat beastkin bought for Maizuru as a gift who served the household until she left it and joined Laios' party.

Enabled · Before character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
The Orcs of the Island dungeon, also called Zon's orcs or the Island orcs, are the orc tribe that dwells in the dungeon's 5th floor beneath the Island. They were driven from their homeland when tall-men and elves expanded into their lands, and with nowhere else to go they took refuge inside the dungeon. The tribe is led by Chief Zon, who became chief relatively recently and is fiercely protective of his people and his young son Bahay; his sister Leed commands her own squad of orcs, having stayed on the 5th floor while Zon moved the main body of the tribe to shallower floors to escape the Red Dragon. The orcs harbor deep hostility toward the tall-men and elves who slaughtered and displaced their kin, and they begin the story hostile to the adventurers in the dungeon. Their alliance with the heroes came through Senshi: he traded vegetables, eggs, and food with the tribe, and after sharing meals he earned Zon's trust, after which the chief gave Laios' party the map to the Red Dragon's lair. Leed's squad also helped the wounded Touden party recover after their battle with the dragon. When Marcille later became a temporary dungeon lord, the orcs seized adventurers and Canaries as hostages — Rin, Shuro, and Flamela among them — to secure the tribe's escape from the changing dungeon, reuniting with the wider events only when the dungeon's floors merged.
- #13Core facts from the Corpse Retrievers dump: half-dwarf leader, half-gnome mage, the 3,500-gold revival charge, Kabru's 5th-floor slaughter, and their reappearance resurrected at King Laios' speech.

The Corpse Retrievers are a company of at least six professional body-removal specialists who work the Island's dungeon, first seen in the early arcs. Their leader is a half-dwarf, and they employ a half-gnome mage who can heal the paralyzed and cast illusions. Their business model is to profit from death: they recover the bodies of slain adventurers, revive and resurrect them for a fee, and quietly keep anything of value found on the dead. Kabru views them as parasites on the Island and its adventurers. When Kabru's own party was found wiped out, the retrievers healed them and charged Kabru 3,500 gold for the revival, hiding the truth about the treasure insects that had destroyed the party because, as their leader put it, the more corpses, the better. They trailed Kabru's party to the 5th floor hoping the hunters and the thieves would kill each other, and even faked a merman attack to try to harvest new bodies. There, Kabru — unforgiving of those who profit from death — killed the half-dwarf leader and the rest of the band and dumped their bodies in the water.

Laios Touden (ライオス トーデン; Raiosu Tōden) is a 26-year-old male Tall-man adventurer, the main protagonist of Delicious in Dungeon (Dungeon Meshi) and the leader of Laios' Party, the adventuring party delving the Lunatic Magician's Dungeon beneath the Island. He is alive at the end of the story, standing about 185 cm tall and weighing around 91 kg (BMI 26). In appearance, Laios is a Tall-man with short blond hair and light gold eyes, and a strong, well-muscled build attributed to his protein-heavy dungeon diet. He keeps his hair short and his face clean-shaven to look less like his estranged father. While dungeon-crawling he wears silver plate armour over a white shirt, a maille skirt reaching his mid-thighs with a belt at the waist, silver bracers, silver knee guards, and simple brown boots. Personality-wise, Laios is calm, gentle, and patient, but becomes intensely passionate, speaking very fast with animated gestures whenever monsters come up, which irritates most people around him. He is far more interested in monsters than in people, to the point of failing to remember having met Kabru's Party until he saw their kobold member again. As a leader he is observant, intelligent, and effective, deducing threats from footsteps and realising that Living Armor were living egg-laying organisms rather than enchanted suits. He prioritises his companions' safety over treasure and rewards. Outside the dungeon he is socially awkward and blunt, often unintentionally hurting others, so many people find him unsettling and even potentially dangerous, though he genuinely cares about others, stays friendly, and treats all races as equals, including orcs. Despite loving monsters, he is not naive about them; when Senshi introduced the kelpie Anne, Laios insisted it could not have good intentions and should be killed, yet deferred to Senshi's wishes. In ability, Laios is a skilled swordsman and versatile leader who knows basic healing magic, learned from his sister Falin and trained by Marcille, though he is less proficient than either. He holds deep knowledge of monster biology and myth, cooks monsters with some skill (below Senshi), sews equipment such as the party's frog suits, and draws monsters expertly in his notebook, The Dungeon Gourmet Guide. He also does a remarkably convincing dog impression, first noted by his sister. His strongest bond is with his younger sister Falin Touden, whom he loves more than anyone and whose rescue drives the party's whole quest. He shares a close, sometimes exasperated but trusting friendship with the half-elf mage Marcille Donato, his partner in the goal of bringing Falin back. He deeply respects the locksmith Chilchuck and enjoys drinking with him, regards the dwarf Senshi as his mentor in monster cuisine, and is kind to the beastkin Izutsumi despite her prickliness. Former members include the axe-wielder Namari, whom he still respects, and Shuro, whom he considers a friend despite Shuro's frustration with his obliviousness. Laios and Falin grew up in a village in northern Northern Continent, where Falin's magical talent made her an outcast and the village had to contend with savage mountain nomads; Laios left home alone as a teenager. He later took work that brought him to the Island, visited Falin at the Magic Academy, and she ran away to join him; the pair then worked in the Dungeon as protection for gold-strippers. In the Dungeon his first death was blood loss from a Living Armor attack, the same fight in which he found the sword Kensuke. He met Marcille and Senshi, formed his party, and led them down to the Red Dragon that ate Falin. His favourite food is dairy products, especially cheesecake, and his least favourite foods are squid and octopus. His first cause of death within a dungeon was blood loss from a Living Armor attack. After Falin awoke at the story's end, he collapsed from exhaustion from watching over her sleep.

Keys: Marushiru Donatō, Marcille Donato, マルシル・ドナトー, Marcille, Dungeon Meshi protagonist party mage
Enabled · Before character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
Marcille Donato (マルシル・ドナトー; Marushiru Donatō), usually just Marcille, is a half-elf mage and the magic specialist of Laios' Party, the adventuring party delving the Lunatic Magician's Dungeon beneath the Island. Born on the Northern Continent on April 19, 464, she is 50 years old at the start of the story, stands 160 cm tall, and wields a staff named Ambrosia. She relies chiefly on fire and explosion spells and is also the party's expert on forbidden ancient and black magic, and she dreams of creating a safe dungeon where no one has to die. In appearance, Marcille is a half-elf with long blonde hair, green eyes, and rounded elf ears that betray her mixed blood. She styles her hair differently every day, is taller than Chilchuck and Senshi but shorter than Falin and Laios, and in the Dungeon wears a long blue dress over white pants, a blue cowl, a red choker, and sandals. Personality-wise, Marcille is intelligent, principled, and loyal to her friends, though high-strung and uncomfortable far outside her comfort zone, such as eating monsters. Confident in her magic, she becomes insecure when she cannot help the party and may even endanger everyone to prove herself. She feels guilty about her illegal dark magic yet believes her taboo methods may point to the future. She can be naive, believing friendship alone holds a party together, and she is genuinely, sometimes pushily, curious about her companions' lives. Her deepest fear is outliving everyone she loves: her half-elf lifespan means most of her friends will die before her, and many full elves look down on her half-blood status. Her father's slow death in her childhood left her with this complex about loss. In ability, Marcille specialises in fire-type magic and leans on explosion spells, while also casting stunning and flash spells, protection spells, and water-walking magic; her healing is fast but famously painful. She creates wards against possession and zombification, makes familiars from scratch, appraises items, dispels curses even in languages she cannot read, and is well-versed in written magic and magic circles. A hybrid magician fluent in both gnomish and elven styles, she can read Elfish. Her true expertise is ancient magic and black magic, which she used to revive Falin and to dispel the magic binding the Lunatic Magician's miniature dragons. She also knows tall-man and canine skeletal systems, which let her help reassemble Falin's skeleton, and she can do headstands. Marcille's closest friend is Falin Touden, her childhood friend from the Magic Academy, whom she calls an angel and for whom she would risk her life. She is often exasperated by Laios but trusts him deeply; when he entered her dream she saw him as a silly but harmless puppy. She respects Chilchuck's skills while treating him like a child, which annoys him, and he teases her in return. She gets along with Senshi, once making soap from kelpie fat to wash his beard, though they clash over magic. She is motherly toward Izutsumi, first saw Namari's departure as a betrayal before warming to her, and dislikes Shuro's pursuit of Falin. Marcille is the daughter of Donato, a tall-man court historian, and an elven mother who served as a court magician to a royal Tall-man; because of her slowed aging, her father was already an old man by the time she formed memories, and he died of old age when she was young in her perception. Her mother later remarried a gentlemanly gnome. The death of her pet bird Pipi, who lived to sixty-two, was her first experience of losing a loved one. She and Falin became friends at the Magic Academy; Marcille later adventured on the Island, where her first dungeon death was suffocation by a slime, and she joined Laios' Party. Her favourite foods are seafood and nuts, and her least favourite foods are weird foods. Her first death within a dungeon was suffocation by a slime. Her parents were court magicians per her wiki trivia line, and she is a devoted fan of the in-universe romance series The Daltian Clan, keeping the complete set in her room and recommending it to Falin, Laios, and Chilchuck. She enjoys dancing and cares deeply for the people she loves.

Chilchuck Tims (チルチャック・ティムズ; Chiruchakku Timuzu), called Chil by Laios Touden, is a 29-year-old Half-foot locksmith and the trap-disarming rogue of Laios' Party, the adventuring party delving the Lunatic Magician's Dungeon beneath the Island. Born on the Eastern Continent on May 18, 485, he stands 110 cm and weighs only 22 kg (BMI 18). Because Half-foots age at double the Tall-man pace with roughly half the lifespan, he is the furthest through his lifespan of the party, mentally equivalent to a man in his fifties despite his boyish looks, and he is the party's most mature voice of reason. In appearance, Chilchuck is a Half-foot with light skin, short auburn hair, and dark brown eyes, half the height of a typical Tall-man with the larger ears common to his race. He is tall for a Half-foot and deliberately slender, managing his weight so he will not set off pressure traps. His dungeon attire is a brown padded vest and green neck warmer over a white long-sleeved shirt, leather fingerless gloves, black pants, and leather boots; the neckband he almost always wears was a gift from one of his daughters. Personality-wise, Chilchuck is shrewd, practical, and emotionally guarded, the voice of reason among eccentric companions, and he rarely takes jobs unless paid in advance, a habit learned from being exploited as a Half-foot. He is more willing to eat monsters than Marcille, but like her draws a hard line at demi-humans. He keeps his private life strictly separate from work because he believes interpersonal issues are the most common reason parties split. He finds the Half-foot custom of acting younger than one's age degrading, since it stops Half-foots being treated as equals. His rogue's work keeps him on edge, and he grows agitated when companions ignore his warnings. In ability, Chilchuck uses heightened senses and his two large ears to detect approaching enemies before his companions can. His specialty is locating and disarming traps and picking locks, and he doubles as the party guide, planning routes, finding shortcuts, and mapping the ever-changing Dungeon. In battle he can wield a bow and throw knives with fair accuracy, but he excludes himself when counting fighters, since his small stature and light weapons do little damage. He also works as an interpreter and appraiser and speaks a language besides the common tongue. Chilchuck views Laios as dangerous and unreasonable and chides his lapses in leadership, yet reluctantly respects him as leader, recognising his dungeon skills and good intentions, and considers him a friend. He finds Marcille 'the friend who cannot shut up', is annoyed by her romanticising of his family life, and messes with her in return, though he worries about her and thinks the party is lucky to have her. He respects Senshi's cooking and envies the respect Senshi commands, while resenting being treated like a kid by him. He finds Falin uncomfortable to deal with, calling her the girl who cannot say no, sees Namari as the easiest party member to talk to and a drinking buddy, and was introduced to Laios as a locksmith for hire by Dandan. Chilchuck was born in a small village in a basin northeast of the Island and moved with his family to Kahka Brud at 14; for about a decade he travelled dungeons doing lock-picking, interpreting, mediating, and item appraisal. He married at 13 (26 in Half-foot maturity) and had three daughters within three years: Meijack, Flertom, and Puckpatti. Because he would not open emotionally, his estranged wife left with their children, and he has not seen them for four years, though Flertom writes him letters. As a novice he was caught and killed by mimics repeatedly; his first dungeon death was blood loss from a Mimic attack. Chilchuck is fond of alcohol, especially ale and wine, and his least favourite foods are sweet side dishes. His first cause of death within a dungeon was blood loss from a Mimic attack, and he hates mimics and tentacles from experience. His father died of alcoholism, which does not deter his drinking; he says dying doing what you like is not a bad way to go. In terms of modern humans he is about fifty years old, as his temporary Tall-man form showed. He rents a house in Kahka Brud separate from the family home and often stays at the Half-foot Guild's lodgings on the Island.

Senshi of Izganda (センシ), usually just Senshi, is a 112-year-old Dwarf warrior and master of monster cuisine in Laios' Party, the adventuring party delving the Lunatic Magician's Dungeon beneath the Island. Born in Izganda on the Eastern Continent on October 2, 402, he stands 140 cm and weighs 71 kg (BMI 36), and is a former miner of the Dwarf Miners. He spent about ten years living in the Dungeon learning to eat monsters, hates magic, and believes its overuse leads to one's downfall. In appearance, Senshi is a stocky dwarf with tan skin, long black hair, round black eyes, and a long ruffled beard that was once so dirty it resisted magic until Marcille helped clean it. His face is the most cartoonish in the party, with a pronounced nose and eyes that go slit when he is skeptical. He almost never removes his plated horned helmet, which bears an X-shaped scar where he repaired the hole a hippogriff's kick tore; the helmet belonged to Gillin, his old benefactor, and he wears it as a memento. As a child he had a round face and a lithe build that worried other dwarves. Personality-wise, Senshi is traditional and obstinate, set in his ways after a decade of dungeon life, which causes clashes with the party, especially magic-user Marcille. He is careless with his weapons and walks into traps despite warnings, because his savant-like focus is monster cooking and little else. He holds a strong belief in taking only what is needed from the Dungeon and giving back what he takes, and is frustrated when others disrespect this. He despises all forms of magic, though he eventually accepts essential spells, and he is unnerved by resurrection magic, calling it unnatural to come back from the dead and treating magic with gravity and caution. In ability, Senshi is an expert at cooking monsters and at using golems to grow crops, and a skilled fighter with an axe. He can read his native Dwarvish tongue, appears able to tell temperature by touch, and is resistant to heat up to at least 180 degrees Celsius. His cooking philosophy is that monster dishes must be nutritious and respectful of the dungeon's cycle, which is why he disdains waste and over-hunting. His signature gear is his huge adzuki-pot cooking pot, in which most of the party's monster meals are prepared over dungeon campfires, alongside his mithril cooking knife; the pot is so central to him that losing it is one of his greatest fears, and he once carried a heavy replacement pot through the dungeon rather than go without. He is also known to serve each finished dish with his trademark call of 'Delicious!'. Senshi and Laios share a love of cooking and eating monsters; Laios sees him as an aspiration and mentor, and Senshi calls him promising while rejecting impractical ideas like eating metal Living Armor. His dislike of magic puts him at odds with Marcille, whom he calls a big-headed elf for destroying the Dungeon's ecosystem with powerful spells, though he mistakenly counts her among the party's youngsters despite her being the oldest at over 50. He is fond of Chilchuck but has long believed the Half-foot is a child needing the ways of the world explained, even giving him the birds-and-the-bees talk, despite Chilchuck being mentally the oldest with three grown daughters. His old group, the Dwarf Miners, was himself, Brigan, Invar, Noor, Totan, leader Gillin, and their horse Anne; he saw them all as role models and Gillin as his sworn big brother. Senshi was born in Izganda, and his parents died when he was 22, one in an accident and one to illness, after which Gillin took him in. He worked as a miner and golem farmer with the Dwarf Miners, whose expedition into the Dungeon ended in disaster when his companions were lost to starving madness in its depths; Senshi survived thanks to the monster-cooking knowledge of Gillin and was shaped by the tragedy, later returning to live alone in the Dungeon for about ten years, cooking and eating monsters until he met Laios' Party. His first death within a dungeon was blood loss from a Dungeon Rabbit attack. Senshi's favourite food is monster cuisine, and his least favourite foods are those lacking in nutrients. His first cause of death within a dungeon was blood loss from a Dungeon Rabbit attack. His name means 'researcher' (in the anime) or 'seeker' in Dwarvish. He named the kelpie he befriended Anne, after the Dwarf Miners' horse. In terms of modern humans he is roughly 44 to 45 years old, dwarves having about 2.5 times the human lifespan.

Falin Touden (ファリン トーデン; Farin Tōden) is a 23-year-old Tall-man cleric-mage, the younger sister of Laios Touden, and the person whose devouring by the Red Dragon sets Laios' Party expedition in motion into the Lunatic Magician's Dungeon beneath the Island. Trained at the Magic Academy, she specialises in gnome-system magic with expertise in reinforcement, recovery, and exorcism. In appearance, Falin is a Tall-man with fair skin, amber eyes, and uneven, shoulder-length ash-blonde hair; she is shorter than Laios and Shuro but taller than Marcille. Her dungeon attire is a dark blue robe over a white long-sleeved shirt and white pants, with brown knee-high boots and a beret. Personality-wise, Falin is very kind and does not want to hurt others, extending that kindness even to the restless dead: she casts wards so the party avoids ghosts rather than dispelling them, because dispelled spirits only reform and suffer needlessly. She is caring, considerate, self-sacrificing, and reckless, never hesitating to take a blow for loved ones, as when she teleported her party to safety as the Red Dragon defeated them. Like her brother she has a fanatical interest in biology, and she was delighted rather than repulsed by tales of the monsters the party ate. In ability, Falin specialises in gnome-system magic - in contrast to Marcille's elven style - with expertise in reinforcement, recovery, and exorcism, and she knows coordination magic. She had not yet earned her teleportation certification, yet when the party was defeated she teleported them all to the surface, the act that cost her life. As a cleric she leans toward protection and purification rather than combat. Falin's closest bond is with her elder brother Laios: they grew up together, she dreams of travelling the world with him, she covers for his social blunders, and she most admires his fantastic dog impression. She and Marcille have been best friends since the Magic Academy, each admiring the other, and Marcille would do anything to rescue her. Shuro is in love with her and has proposed outright; she has no romantic feelings for him but wondered whether accepting might be alright, while worrying that would be dishonest. She considers Chilchuck to have an artisan's temperament, regards Namari as knowledgeable, and hopes her estranged parents will reconcile someday. She once had a fiance she never met, the engagement broken off when she was sent to the Magic Academy, where she was meant to graduate into a church gravekeeper's post; instead she dropped out and ran away to the Island to join her brother as a dungeon adventurer. Her first dungeon death was blood loss from a Living Armor attack, like her brother. Falin's favourite foods are fruit and cream, and she dislikes no food in particular. Her first cause of death within a dungeon was blood loss from a Living Armor attack. Marcille frequently calls her cute and she has a complex about it.

Izutsumi is a cat-featured beastkin girl and adventurer of Laios Touden's party in the Island dungeon, formerly the veiled retainer Asebi of the Nakamoto household of Wa. Bought as a young cat by Shuro's father as a gift for the retainer Maizuru, she was raised in the household as the retainer Asebi; an earlier curse had already fused her tall-man body with a monster cat's, giving her black cat ears with a white tip on the right ear, a black white-tipped tail, fur over most of her body, claw-like nails, and fangs. She now travels with Laios' party chiefly to find someone who can lift the curse and return her to a normal human body, and grows impatient with the party's pace through the dungeon. Small and slight, she has black fur covering her chest and back, her right arm down to the hand, left upper arm and shoulder, right upper thigh, and entire left leg (in the anime her chest is skin-colored but still furry). In Shuro's party she wore a black shinobi shozoku with a veil that hid everything but her eyes; the veil was later lost. In Laios' party she wears a brown sleeveless vest, red armor bracers, a red scarf often tied as a bowtie, and a short brown skirt, plus a cold-weather outfit. She is not actively aggressive but bristles at physical affection such as head pats, stands aloof and blunt when displeased, and is fairly self-centered while learning to work with others. Her table manners are poor: she is a picky eater who scatters disliked food and offloads unwanted duties onto others. She acts like a cat, sleeping in Chilchuck's bedroll because it is the warmest and hovering near Marcille when docile. Her drive is singular - finding a curse-lifter - which makes her impatient with detours. Like all of Shuro's retainers she is a capable fighter, using the agility, claws, and keen sense of smell of her cat side, occasionally handling tools and weapons; she is nimble enough to flee through trees and dart across rooftops. A separate curse Maizuru placed on her neck - the paper-hag spell 'Ninja Art: Babysitter', originally devised to watch the young Shuro - summoned a hag that tried to kill her until Marcille dispelled it in the Golden Castle; briefly freed of its influence, Izutsumi turned docile and eager for pets, then was deeply ashamed of it once her mind returned. Relations: she sees Maizuru, who cursed her and drilled her in table manners, as 'a major pain' and disciplinarian; Shuro is 'the stuck-up guy', distant even for a retainer since his family bought her and never pays her; Tade is 'the one with horns', the closest thing she had to a friend and the usual recipient of food she dislikes; Laios is a 'weirdo' for his love of monsters; Chilchuck is 'small and warm'; and Senshi, who scolded her for scooping mushrooms out of his risotto onto the floor, becomes a father figure who teaches her that a meal needs everyone at the table. The kobold Kuro snarled at her on first sight as the veiled Asebi, an early clue to her cat nature. Trivia: all of Shuro's retainers bear plant names, Asebi being the Japanese andromeda (Pieris japonica). Like a cat she cannot taste sweetness, unable even to identify sugar in Hot Succubus Milk. Her first cause of death inside a dungeon was shock when Laios' animated corpse caught her after she fell from a tree. Her mother appears wearing a deel, hinting at a Central Asian-like homeland. Favorite foods are fish, meat, and crab; vegetables and mushrooms she refuses outright. Her tail lashes or droops with her moods, and she naps in any warm enclosed spot.

Kabru is a dark-skinned tall-man with black hair and blue eyes who leads his own adventuring party on the Island, aiming to conquer the dungeon before it can overflow and destroy the island the way an overflowing dungeon annihilated his birthplace of Utaya. Orphaned by that massacre, he was adopted by the former Canary Milsiril, whose thorough schooling made him a master reader of people - as talented at understanding humans as Laios Touden is at understanding monsters, and nearly as dismal with monsters themselves: his lack of dungeon experience has gotten his whole party killed many times, and Laios has stumbled across their corpses again and again. Driven and analytical with a strong sense of justice, Kabru adopts a humble, disarming persona to size people up, keeping exhaustive notes on every adventurer on the island and recalling everything about them in astounding detail; Holm calls him 'a man who will do anything to get on someone's good side'. Around his own party he is playful and supportive. He is cynical about corruption - corpse-retrievers who kill adventurers for profit and the island's governor draw his contempt - and he distrusts anyone wielding political power, fearing dungeon power falling into the wrong hands more than the monsters themselves. He knows rudimentary magic (water walk, illuminate, basic healing), abandoned illusion study as too tiring, and fights with swords, daggers, and spears, striking vital points with ease; from a few glances at a local pub he deduced that Laios' changed party behavior meant they were rescuing a sibling. His motive is rooted in Utaya, far to the east on the Western Continent, where fifteen years before the story a crumbling dungeon's monsters wiped the village off the map; eating monster dishes drags his mind back to that ruin, and he politely refuses them along with elven-style cakes. His blue eyes were taken at Utaya as a succubus's mark, and his mother was ostracized for them. Party roster: Rinsha Fana ('Rin'), a mage in love with him whom he regards like a big sister; Holm, a healer-summoner knowledgeable about spirits whom he respects; Daya, a dwarf warrior; and Mickbell, a half-foot thief, with his kobold partner Kuro. Raised near a kobold settlement, Kabru speaks a little kobold language, holds secret study sessions teaching Kuro the common tongue while Mickbell sleeps, and hopes the pair become true friends; he likes Mickbell but thinks he is too possessive of Kuro. The party knows his two-faced nature yet trusts his judgment. His adoptive mother Milsiril dotes on him to uncomfortable degrees; he feels deeply indebted to her yet concluded that 'elves will never truly understand short-lived races', resenting long-lived folk who hide the nature of dungeons and magic - concealment he believes made Utaya possible. Basilisk poison claimed his first dungeon death, and repeated resurrections have visibly thinned him. His first-ever cooked meal was Grilled Walking Mushroom, and his landlord - the bartender above his room - cleans it free of charge. Favorite food is tomatoes; he takes tea with Holm's older sister and exchanges letters with her. Canary Otta once claimed Milsiril treated her adoptees like pets, but Kabru himself describes an overprotective, loving parent who schooled him thoroughly on anything he asked to learn.

Enabled · Before character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
Shuro, born Toshiro Nakamoto (kanji 半本 俊朗), is the 26-year-old tall-man heir of the Nakamoto clan of Wa in the Eastern Archipelago; 'Shuro' spread from Laios mispronouncing Toshiro, and he stopped correcting people years ago, with Kabru nearly the only one who uses his real name. Present since Chapter 1, a former member of Laios' original party, he leads his own party of retainers - Maizuru, Hien, Benichidori, Tade, and the beastkin girl Asebi ('I don't really get her', says Shuro) - all technically his father's retainers rather than his own, leaving him distant even from them, and he is in love with Falin Touden, diving into the Island dungeon with that small crew to rescue her. He is an Eastern man of 180 cm with long black hair tied back in a ponytail, fair skin, and black eyes, shorter than Laios but taller than Marcille; when he reappears in the story he looks gaunt, hollow-eyed, and unshaven from his obsessive search. He wields a tachi sharp enough to take a Sea Serpent's head off in one stroke, once saving Kabru's party doing so. Reserved, he rarely makes demands, expresses opinions through subtle social cues, and goes along with others rather than push a point - Eastern indirectness that doomed his friendship with the oblivious Laios, who never noticed Shuro's growing irritation. Under pressure he turns impulsive, snapping decisions like abandoning his old party overnight to save Falin. He grew up sickly and in the shadow of his charismatic father Toshitsugu, believing nothing he does will ever be acknowledged; his younger brothers are Toshiyuki and Toshizane, and his grandfather Tsuguyoshi completes the house. Of the retainers he was closest to his educator Maizuru, who cooked for him when he would not eat, until learning of her affair with his father cooled the bond; his mother resents Maizuru enough to bar her from parts of the residence. His love for Falin is genuine and largely unspoken - Laios constantly interrupted his attempts to get closer to her, and he secretly envied Laios' easy manner even while resenting him. When Falin was eaten by the Red Dragon, his restraint broke: he raced to the dungeon with only his retainers, fought a duel with Laios over Falin's resurrection and Laios' amoral conduct - a clash Kabru defused by talking the enraged Shuro around to the logic of what Laios had done. He finds Marcille 'kind of scary' and was surprised Chilchuck is an adult, not a child. His first dungeon death came from a Cockatrice, which petrified and shattered him before revival. He survives the story's events and succeeds his father as head of the Nakamoto clan. Birthday June 13; favorite food is soba noodle soup; he dislikes cheese. His household ranks among the island's most formidable fighting forces, and its retainers answer to the clan head rather than to Shuro personally. His indirect manner reflects Wa etiquette: grievances are implied between the lines instead of spoken, so Laios long assumed they were friends because Shuro never voiced what bothered him, while noble rank trained him to hold his tongue all the more. Despite finding him plain and timid, Maizuru still believes Shuro will become a great successor to his father as head of the Nakamoto clan, weighing his health and happiness as she once oversaw his lessons. He weighs his words even with people he privately dislikes, dealing in courteous formulas that outsiders misread as warmth. He keeps his rank worn lightly in daily routine yet never abandons its forms: gifts, bows, and formal requests carry what his voice will not say outright.

Pale-haired in a short bob, with both ear tips sheared off, silver eyes turned black, and a destroyed right eye replaced by a prosthetic, he dresses plainly among the Canaries - long-sleeved shirt, sleeveless tunic, skirt, trousers, thigh-high boots, and the high-neck collar of his order - with elven armor and a cloak he wields as a weapon; he was once issued a staff like Pattadol's but kept losing it. Born a secret bastard of a prestigious elven house, he had the long perfect ears and pristine silver eyes read as marks of an heir, though the true heir was his frail elder brother Obrin, who needed a crutch; rumors branded Obrin the bastard, and the House shipped Mithrun - the actual scandal - off to the Canaries while his brother inherited. Now calm, blunt, and seemingly emotionless, he runs on stale habit: routine lets him manage daily life alone, but in a dungeon he forgets to eat or sleep entirely, and having no desires left, he has no favorite or least favorite foods. Caretakers handle him: Cithis was assigned to feed and direct him, ordering him around with illusions until she discovered the magic never worked on him and he had simply had no reason to refuse; when she tried making him harm Pattadol he refused, winning her respect. Pattadol respects him as a skilled man, Fleki runs recon, Lycion is the squad's wolfman, and Otta changes topography. His teleportation magic swaps the exact locations of two objects: touching a target, he teleports enemies into walls (leaving a stone statue-like imprint that gets him mistaken for a petrifier), drops debris into bodies to tear flesh away, swaps the Giant Walking Mushroom on floor one with underground lake water from floor four, rotates momentum vectors to turn falls into upward saves, slows his own drops, and bisects durable targets by teleporting his cloak through them. Agile martial artist, healer, poison-neutralizer, and resurrection caster, he has a poor sense of direction everywhere except dungeons, where his lordship gives him unique instinct; the missing eye sometimes spoils fatal shots. He accidentally killed a companion of Misyl by teleporting into them. Kabru traveled with him, heard his tangential life story, became his caretaker while the Canaries hold him prisoner, and wants to compress it all into a warning for Laios. Despite years of dungeon work he had never died in one until Marcille cut him down; Pattadol revived him, and his brother spared no expense, sending attendants and physicians until Mithrun could stand again. His retellings of the past sprawl across unnecessary details, tangents, and characters, to Kabru's constant exasperation. Lycion remarks that his hair looks glossier since Kabru began feeding him properly, and Fleki judges Kabru surprisingly good at keeping him under control.

Namari is a dwarf warrior of the Tansu party on the Island, formerly the frontline warrior of Laios Touden's original party, where she fought alongside Laios to the dungeon's fifth floor and killed several dragons. Short and brawny with medium-long reddish-brown hair, black eyes, and proportionally large ears, she stands about Senshi's height. She left Laios' party before the Red Dragon attempt after arguing with the siblings over goals and payment; Mr. Tansu then hired her, and under his contract she stood in the doomed battle against the Red Dragon on the fifth floor - the fight where Falin was eaten and Falin's warping spell pulled Namari out of certain death. When rumor of her quarrel with the siblings spread, Tansu's job stretched into nearly a week escorting him and his adoptive children Kaka and Kiki, whose names she kept mixing up at first. Impatient and brash before that failed fight, Namari enjoys fighting - leaping at the chance to rough up a possessed adventurer to exorcise its ghost, and scolding Falin for sparing spirits, calling her soft. Being warped out taught her that no resurrection magic can save someone whose whole party dies on a deep floor; survival has been her highest priority since, putting her at odds with Tansu, who carelessly uses her as a human shield. Though she seems motivated purely by money, she truly works to repay her father's crimes: he once controlled every weapon flowing through the Island, was caught embezzling government funds, and vanished, leaving Island dwarves under discrimination she hopes to outlive by restoring their honor. A capable warrior and smith, she forges her own weapons and armor, appraises equipment quality at a glance, and shows proficiency even in weapons she has never trained with. Like most dwarves she has low magical affinity, falling ill after magical transport, and she is terrible at guessing other races' ages, tall-men especially. She respects Laios while knowing the limits of his strength, criticized his first sword repeatedly, pushes him to stay well equipped, and came to trust his judgment after doubting him during the Asivia affair; she counts Chilchuck as her easiest conversation partner and drinking buddy; she reconciled with Marcille after being confronted over abandoning Falin, affirming she cares whether her old comrades live; she initially mocked Senshi's gear but apologized once she saw the worth of his adamantine pot; and she treats Kaka and Kiki to food and drink while sharing veteran advice. Her first cause of death within a dungeon was being fatally weakened by a Ghost. Favorite food is spare ribs; raisins she refuses. Her name means lead in Japanese, matching Daya's diamond-based name. She likes the look of leg pouches on tall-men, regrets leaving the party and its quest, and chanced an attempt to identify Falin's body at the Island's resurrection office. She strives to earn Mr. Tansu and his family's respect despite her resentment of his carelessness, and she took an interest in the story of how Kaka and Kiki came to their adoptive parents. She preferred Falin's technique in healing magic, which hurt less, and believed Falin took life at her own leisurely pace even when they disagreed over sparing monsters. Many Island dwarves resent her for her father's embezzlement, and she initially kept her guard up around Marcille because the party's previous mage had nearly split the Touden party apart. Of everyone in Laios' company she finds Chilchuck, fellow drinker and self-appointed adult, the easiest to talk to, and she respects Senshi as a fellow dwarf even when his equipment horrified her. Her dwarf stamina lets her march in armor all day, and she reads a battlefield quickly, calling retreat the moment odds turn - a habit that once read as coldness toward Falin but was survival discipline taking charge.

Asivia is a tall-man mage and the former mage of Laios' Party, the early Touden party that explored the Island's dungeon in Delicious in Dungeon until Laios dismissed her before the delve to the fifth floor. She has pale skin, green eyes, brown hair cut just above her shoulders, stands close in height to Falin Touden, and wears a pastel dress with a high decorated collar and juliet sleeves. In Chilchuck's recollection she was a 'marriage seeker': her interest in men, including party leader Laios Touden and the Easterner Shuro Nakamoto, revolved around using them for their money rather than affection. She repeatedly took advantage of Laios' kind nature, seductions that Chilchuck, Namari, and Shuro all recognized. When the party reached the dungeon's fourth floor, the three confronted Laios and threatened to leave unless he acted against her manipulation; before the delve to the fifth floor, Laios quietly took her aside and dismissed her from the party. The veteran picklock Chilchuck later joined the rebuilt party through Dandan's introduction, and Asivia herself remains alive.

Benichidori is one of Shuro Nakamoto's five retainers in Delicious in Dungeon, a quiet Eastern tall-man kunoichi of the Nakamoto clan serving the young master on the Island and in the dungeon under the senior retainer Maizuru. Shorter than Hien, she has long black hair tied in a low ponytail with a bow, large almond-shaped eyes, and two mole-like tattoos in a vertical line beside her nose marking her rank as a Nakamoto family ninja; she wears a black sleeveless robe tied at the waist, a black scarf, forearm guards, knee-high socks and sandals, and fights with a kunai. Raised to watch the moods of those around her, she speaks little, obeys Shuro's orders and Maizuru's commands on and off the field, and fights competently against harpies alongside her fellow retainers. She suffers extreme dysmorphia about her face, hiding behind heavy makeup; when Hien casually said she needed none, Benichidori exploded, calling Hien ugly - but Hien's brazen claim that becoming more beautiful would trouble others so stunned her that the two became close friends, often paired for duties along with Tade. She thinks Shuro falling for a northern foreigner like Falin is poorly timed. All Shuro's retainers bear plant names: Benichidori is a variety of Japanese apricot. She favors natto, dislikes myoga ginger, and her first dungeon death was wasting sickness caused by a ghost.

He and Gillin were old companions whose friendship strained as the company grew, arguing especially over Senshi's fate once they were lost in the dungeon's depths. Brigan could recognize ancient artifacts, the loot Gillin had steered the miners toward harvesting. He liked smoked meat, disliked cheese, and died in the dungeon after succumbing to wounds inflicted by a hippogriff, like the rest of his party. Born in Chilchuck's village on the Eastern Continent, she was his childhood friend; they married at thirteen, she bore twins Meijack and Flertom the same year, moved to the half-foot town of Kahka Brud at fourteen, and had Puckpatti a year later. At twenty-five, worn down by Chilchuck's refusal to open up emotionally, she left him while he was away on a job and went to live with Flertom, cutting contact for the four years leading up to the story's start in 514. Author Ryoko Kui has deliberately never revealed her appearance, telling readers to imagine which half-foot woman in her art might be her; Kui confirmed only that the couple had a large wedding surrounded by relatives, and that after the canon timeline Chilchuck will meet his wife to talk, leaving any reconciliation ambiguous. Fans speculate she may be blonde, since the succubi that targeted Chilchuck all appeared to him as blonde half-foot women.

Her specialty is illusory suggestion: she hypnotizes victims into extremely suggestible states - she once enthralled her previous Canary captain so totally she could have gone free whenever she wished - plants crippling thoughts mid-battle, such as telling Marcille her legs had turned to stone, and offers to burn foes with fire magic. Smug and insincere with superiors, envious of wealthy elven nobles, she despises the sheltered young Pattadol and privately vows to kill her someday. Assigned by Flamela to manage the desire-less Mithrun with her suggestion power, she first humiliated him with petty commands, but when he refused an order to hurt Pattadol - his first defiance - she grew genuinely respectful and now guides him loyally. She likes shrimp, dislikes sloppily prepared food, and her first dungeon death was blood loss from an Undine's shot.

Flertom is the second-eldest daughter of the half-foot lockpick adventurer Chilchuck Tims in Delicious in Dungeon, likely the fraternal twin of her sister Meijack, born to Chilchuck and his wife the same year they married. A half-foot with light skin and dark, shoulder-length, slightly ruffled hair with a swept fringe, she is eager to marry a rich dwarf, finding half-foot men stingy and unsavory husband material. Before Chilchuck joined Laios' Party, Flertom sent him a letter revealing that her mother had left him and come to live with her - news delivered along with the neckband Chilchuck now wears adventuring, an ornament both linking him to family and reminding him of the daughter who took their mother in. After the separation, her mother came to live with her.

Gillin was the dwarven leader of the Dwarf Miners, the party that delved the Island's dungeon in Delicious in Dungeon with Brigan, Invar, Noor, Totan, and the orphan boy Senshi, and he died in its depths alongside his men. Pale-skinned with long red hair, semi-circular eyes, a stocky build and long bushy beard, he looked the typical fantasy dwarf and was never seen without his horned plated helmet - the helmet Senshi wears to this day as a memento. Attentive to his image so as to win people's hearts, and diverging from his homeland's dwarf views by suggesting the group profit from ancient artifacts rather than conventional mining, he showed real care for youngest member Senshi, sharing the meat that saved the starving boy. His long friendship with the cautious Brigan frayed into arguments over Senshi once the party was lost; he consulted the knowledgeable Noor as advisor and abruptly brought the jovial Totan aboard. Flashbacks render him caring, though filtered through Senshi's memory. He favored cream cake, avoided onions, and succumbed to the same hippogriff wounds that claimed his whole party. In the English dub of the anime he speaks with an Appalachian accent.

Dandan is a half-foot picklock of Chilchuck Tims' guild in Delicious in Dungeon, an experienced locksmith of the Island's dungeon who specializes in trapped doors and chests. Light-skinned and freckled with hooded dark eyes and thin eyebrows, he wears a brown short-sleeved turtleneck tunic, beige pants, knee-high leather boots, and fingerless black gloves leaving thumbs and index fingers bare for fine lockwork. In the year 510 he worked a gold-stripping job alongside the siblings Laios and Falin Touden and witnessed Laios suffer his first death, crushed in a Living Armor encounter. That prior connection got Dandan hired as the original picklock of the rebuilt Touden party, but when Laios wanted to delve past the third floor - beyond the upper difficulty limit of many picklocks - Dandan introduced the party to his guild's veteran, the expensive but exceptional Chilchuck Tims, securing the party's survival for the rest of its journey. Daya is a dwarven warrior of Kabru's party in Delicious in Dungeon, an axe-wielding front-line fighter serving the ambitious leader Kabru alongside Mickbell, Kuro, Holm, and Rin. Straw-brown hair in plaits covers her eyes beneath a fringe; she wears a fur-lined tunic, shin guards and sandals and swings her axe one-handed in an 'overpowering' style, by Kabru's description. Born and raised far from civilization as guardian of a sealed dungeon, she comes across as detached from ordinary people, trusting Kabru utterly as the only one fit to rule the Island and agreeing with his aim of destroying the dungeon and its monsters. Having never met Namari, Daya still holds a grudge against her because Namari's father ruined dwarves' reputation among the Island's people and made forming parties hard for dwarves like her. Named after diamonds like Namari after lead, she likes boar meat, dislikes garlic, and her first dungeon death was strangling by a man-eating plant.

Doni is a novice tall-man adventurer exploring the Island's dungeon in Delicious in Dungeon, a young farmer's son who left home dreaming of seeing the great wide world and partnered with the half-elf mage Fionil. Tanned, brown-eyed and black-haired in simple brown leather armor and a leather helmet, he talked nearly every adventurer he met into joining him until he scraped a party together. Three months into adventuring, he and Fionil were chased by a basilisk and Doni took a poisoned slash across the back; the Touden party saved his life overnight with antidote and healing magic, and Senshi gave him practical advice on getting stronger. It was not enough: three days later his party was wiped out by Man-Eating Plants. Doni survived the ordeal and is later seen reacting to news that someone from Laios' team had become the new dungeon lord. Startled to learn Fionil is an elf, he remains unaware of her past spying for the western elves. He likes ham, has no particular disliked food, and his first dungeon death was suffocation by a slime.

Hien is one of Shuro Nakamoto's five retainers in Delicious in Dungeon, a professional Eastern tall-man kunoichi of the Nakamoto clan trained as a ninja since childhood like her parents. Taller than Benichidori and shorter than Tade, she ties her long black hair in a ponytail swept left, has small almond eyes with two mole-like tattoos under her right eye marking her ninja rank, and fights with a short sword in a thigh-length black robe, black scarf, leg warmers and rope sandals. Confident to the point of vanity - she refuses makeup lest her beauty trouble others - she calls Shuro 'young master', finds him troublesome yet respects his orders, and is startled whenever he thanks or apologizes to her. Raised in the same household, she played older sister to the crybaby boy Shuro and assumed he would fall for her as his father fell for Maizuru, though she insists she never truly felt that way; his love for the foreigner Falin shocked her. She keeps Tade's fanciful notions grounded and cares for her injuries, thinks lowly of the ungrateful Asebi, and became close friends with Benichidori after clashing over makeup. All Shuro's retainers carry plant names: Hien comes from hiensou, the rocket larkspur. She loves spicy food, dislikes dried sweet potatoes, and her first dungeon death was a merman's wound.

Laid-back yet harsh in judgment, he freezes when too much happens at once. He keeps elementals he cherishes: the undine Marillier and the earth spirit Essiet, reluctant to summon either in unfavorable conditions, plus two golem cores among his gear. Watching Kabru force down harpy-egg omelet, he reflects that Kabru will do anything to earn trust, and privately suspects Kabru's friendliness toward his own older sister. For religious reasons he avoids meat, preferring fruit. His first dungeon death was a fall caused by a Big Bat; the word 'holm' means sea or water in Old English.

Invar was a dwarven member of the Dwarf Miners in Delicious in Dungeon, one of the quiet miners who followed leader Gillin under the Island alongside Brigan, Noor, Totan, and young Senshi, dying in the dungeon like the rest. Considered handsome and popular with women, this dwarf of few words had pale skin, long gray hair always worn braided, deep-set gray eyes, a stout but thinner-than-average frame with sharp features, a diamond-shaped nose, thin eyebrows, and a long braided beard matching his braids. He admired the cautious Brigan like an older brother and learned his mining techniques from him. He wore a light tunic cinched into a slim deep V at the chest, a bracelet on his right hand, a flounced brown wrap at his hips, and dark boots exposing heel and toes. His favorite food was smoked oysters, he disliked porridge, and he died in the dungeon after succumbing to hippogriff-inflicted wounds, the same fate as his entire party.

Pale-skinned with long white curly hair, round pale eyes, a stocky build, and a curly white beard with full handlebar mustache, he presides over the first floor's world of adventurers, corpse-robbers and criminals, who respect him far more than the civilized governor. His heart, however, has been consumed by the dungeon, dulling his interest in the surface world; he rules the stalemate of the dungeon's upper reaches rather than seeking conquest. He is distinct from the Lord of the Island, the wealthy governor who administers the surface and leaves dungeon matters to his advisor Mr. He remains alive throughout the story's events.

Kaka and Kiki are twin tall-man warriors of the elderly gnome scholars' Tansu party in Delicious in Dungeon, serving as the bodyguards of Mr. and Mrs. Tansu on their dungeon expeditions alongside the dwarf warrior Namari. Abandoned as infants in a tavern and given the playful names Kakaka and Kikiki, they were taken in and raised as honorary gnomes; as children heading to a gnome festival they were mocked by gnome kids for looking like adults and returned home in tears, and at bedtime they cuddled up with Mrs. Tansu for stories. Kaka, the brother, is reserved and taciturn with long black hair in a plait and small goatee, armored in plate and burdened by a complex about his long legs; Kiki, the sister, is kind and expressive, with long dark plaits and a mole under her left eye, fighting in chainmail with a crossbow. Fiercely protective of Mr. Tansu, they worried more for his life than Namari's when she was killed shielding him from an undine. Which twin is older remains unknown, and Namari openly fancies their legs.

Kensuke (ケン助) is the living mollusk monster inhabiting the hilt of Laios Touden's sword in Delicious in Dungeon, a cowardly little creature that trembles and rattles whenever monsters draw near, warning its wielder like a weapon of warning. Beady eyes on eyestalks peek from the crossguard, and it can extend tendrils - which it once used to unlock the sealed door to the dungeon's depths. Laios claimed Kensuke after his party fought and devoured the great Living Armor colony protecting its egg sac, picking the last survivor as his new blade and keeping it initially secret from the party; Falin identified the creature as a pulmonata, the mollusk group including land snails and slugs. Though it fled danger at the height of the Red Dragon fight, leaping from Laios' grip, its monster-sense repeatedly saves the party, rattling alerts at hidden threats such as Treasure Insects. Laios named the creature with a pun - ken (sword) plus the friendly name ending -suke (helper) - while Senshi distrusts it as just another monster.

Long grey hair parted at the side, purple eyes, brown skin, a pale long-sleeved tunic, green waist-length cloak, pleated skirt and the standard Canary collar make up her appearance. Her crimes centered on buying and selling knowledge of forbidden ancient magic, but her energetic contributions at Utaya earned her release. Within Flamela's squad she serves as the warden specifically responsible for Misyl, a sparrow-summoner convicted on minor charges who does not even understand what she did wrong, guiding her through the investigation of the Island's dungeon. Fionil is a young half-elf novice mage adventuring in the Island's dungeon in Delicious in Dungeon, a former spy for the western elves who abandoned her covert duty for love of an ordinary farmer-turned-adventurer, Doni. With light blue almond-shaped eyes, messy blonde hair, and noticeably round ears like other half-elves, she wears a white robe going transparent at the knees, yellow belt, bright blue cloak, gloves, and light brown boots. Employed by the western elves to study and report changes the dungeon caused on the Island, she was so moved by Doni's dream that she deserted her post to join him; when Canaries arrived on the Island she hid, fearing recognition and charges for unauthorized activity, and kept her identity secret from Doni himself. Nervous and devoted, she nursed the basilisk-poisoned Doni through the night with the Touden party's help and received survival advice from Senshi, though their party was still crushed by Man-Eating Plants days later. She likes seafood soup, dislikes milk, and her first dungeon death came from bow-inflicted injuries. She can also recognize traces of spells left behind by other casters. Born on the Northern Continent to refugee parents from the eastern Eastern Archipelago, she saw her magic-using parents lynched by villagers as dark-magic suspects; Flamela's Canary squad found only young Rin left as 'evidence' and carried her off to be raised like a captive animal, unresponsive and refusing food, on the Northern Central Continent - the root of her lasting hate for elves. Milsiril, unable to take another child, sent Kabru to reach her, beginning their bond. Blunt, pessimistic and quick to criticize, she trusts Kabru completely, nurses a poorly hidden crush on him, and accuses him of womanizing when he charms others. She likes dried fruit, dislikes sweets without tartness, and her first dungeon death came from a spear trap.

Donato was the tall-man father of Marcille Donato in Delicious in Dungeon, a court historian who married an elven court magician and died of old age while his half-elf daughter was still young. He appears in Chapter 42 (mentioned) and Chapter 80, where a doppelganger assumes his form before Marcille. Donato was a tall round-built man with pale skin and long blonde hair tied back in a low ponytail with a swept fringe, wearing a ribbon like those Marcille and her mother wear. Serving as court historian to a royal tall-man household, he fell in love with Marcille's mother because she had personally lived through the history he studied; he began courting her when he was fifteen and they married when he was thirty-two. Because elves age far slower than tall-men, Donato grew old and frail within Marcille's childhood: when illness made swallowing solid food impossible, he could no longer eat his favorite meal, the roasted pork his wife cooked, and her sorrow at that loss marked the family deeply. His early death confronted Marcille with the short lives of her father's kind and became a central wound driving her obsession with longevity and resurrection magic. He was deceased before the story begins.

Cheerful and optimistic, she fell in love with Donato during their court service and gave birth to Marcille in the year 464; she later taught her daughter that an elf 'lives life at a different pace than everyone else' and must watch shorter-lived people pass away first - a lesson at the heart of Marcille's fear of loss. After Donato died of old age, she remarried a gentlemanly gnome, and the two live a short distance from Marcille's childhood home; she also originally owned the family pet bird Pipi, which lived to sixty-two. Proper, observant and prone to panicking, she stops others from laughing at Mithrun's mistakes and reminds Cithis to focus in battle - lecturing that earns her Cithis' smoldering hatred, since Cithis resents sheltered nobles and being ordered about by someone younger. Her familiar is a long-haired fairy that pairs with another fairy as a communication device between Canary units and transforms into a staff for spellcasting, including a physical barrier spell; she is skilled at healing and resurrection, restoring Mithrun after an undine blast hole through his head, a feat she notes as difficult. Mockery also made her adore short-lived races, especially children: after the Utaya dungeon-overflow massacre killed Kabru's family, she adopted him, educated him thoroughly, researched genetics to calm his fear that his blue eyes proved monstrous parentage, taught him swordplay when he vowed never to let Utaya repeat, and loves him 'to pieces' despite Otta accusing her of treating short-lived children like pets. She resents her brother Zon for his reluctance to fight adventurers and the Red Dragon; she insisted on staying behind when he led the tribe away, and so leads the orc survivors dwelling on the fifth floor. After the dungeon's collapse she lives in the restored Merini as a guard. It is said Zon suggested she become a royal consort to King Laios so the orcs could become citizens; she agreed for her people's sake but burst into tears at the thought of marrying him.
