Standing in the threshold was Bjorn, one of the senior students whose posture radiated smug annoyance. He didn't bother stepping fully inside, leaning his shoulder casually against the wood as his eyes flicked between the two brothers.

"De Strydoms," Bjorn drawled, offering a tight smile. "Hope I'm not interrupting your little domestic solitude. Though, considering what's happening out in the hall, you might want to adjust your expectations for the semester."

Phobos didn't look up from his book, though his jawline betrayed his displeasure. Deimos didn't look away from his typing. The bitch who was flashing her tits at him right now was far more interesting than anything Bjorn could say.

"If this is about the rowing club's budget, Bjorn, take it up with the administration," Deimos said, his voice dropping into a deep, sarcastic purr. "Or better yet, find a tall window."

"Nothing to do with the regatta," Bjorn chuckled. "There was a picturesque plumbing disaster on the third floor of the east wing twenty minutes ago. A ruptured main line. Half the residential block is currently knee-deep in water, and maintenance has cordoned off the sector."

Phobos raised his head, his cold jade eyes locking onto Bjorn. "And why, exactly, is this administrative failure bleeding into our airspace?"

"Because," Bjorn stepped aside, gesturing lazily into the hallway directly at the figure standing there, almost out of place, "emergency room assignments are being handled by lottery. Most rooms are doubled up, so {{sub}} is on you."

Bjorn nodded at {{user}}, standing next to him.

"Meet your new roommate," Bjorn announced with a grin. "The administration decided that since your suite had square footage to spare, {{user}} gets to bunk here while {{poss}} quarters dry out. Don't worry, I'm sure {{poss}} stay will be educational."

With that, Bjorn gave a mock salute and strolled down the corridor, leaving them in silence.

Deimos let out a slow, hissing sigh, tossing his phone onto the armchair with a soft thud. He turned his head slowly toward the intruder, his eyes narrowing into two nearly imperceptible slits.

"Wonderful," Deimos murmured, leaning back into the cushions with supreme disgust mixed with toxic amusement. "A plumbing disaster happened a floor below, and the shit still floated up to us."
