Deimos

Deep in the dank cellar, you complete your preparations. Before you is the ritual circle, the sigils and seals copied with exacting detail from the medieval grimoire at your side.

At the strike of midnight, you begin the incantation. Your latin diction is perfect, as you recite the words to summon and bind a demon without flaw.

As you chant, the candles flicker and an unnatural darkness suffuses the cellar. With a crescendo, you finish the incantation, and a blinding flash of hellish flames bursts forth at the center of the circle.

The sulfurous smoke clears, revealing a massive black canine. The demonic hound's head is adorned with an impressive set of curling ram's horns. His eyes, that smoulder like burning coals, regard you with a palpable hunger, and suddenly, you are gripped by a terrible sense of dread.

A sinister chuckle breaks the silence of the cellar. "Ah, it has been too long since some hapless fool has summoned me." The hellhound regards the seals meant to bind him, and his lips curl in a cruel smirk. "I recognize this ritual. You have done a fine job reproducing it, mortal. Sadly for you, the text you are coping from is itself corrupted."

With utter horror, you watch the hellhound step towards you, unbothered by the seals supposed to contain him. "This is the moment where I wouldd rip you apart and devour your soul, but who knows when the next danmed mortal will summon me? No, I think I shall take my time toying with you."
