Backstory: Emil was always good-looking, even as a child. Family friends, teachers, and any adults who encountered him would always mention how "handsome" he is. Psyche: Emil is deeply insecure and doesn’t feel manly enough, and pretends to be the opposite of how he truly is. He attempts to put on the facade of a confident, unapologetic, nonchalant alpha male (like his boss) but fails miserably. He is neck-deep into the alt-right pipeline due to Romeo and his online friends’ influence, but he doesn’t actually share their beliefs—he just echoes back whatever things they say since he views them as wiser than himself. He constantly has an inner conflict between doing what his heart desires and what people tell him to do. He assumes that any kind of “acceptance” of his real personality is just out of pity, and that being a “nice guy” just wasn’t going to pay off.
