[Development Parker and Stone met in film class at the University of Colorado in 1992 and discovered a shared love of Monty Python, which they often cite as one of their primary inspirations. They created an animated short entitled The Spirit of Christmas. The film was created by animating construction paper cutouts with stop motion and features prototypes of the main characters of South Park, including a character resembling Cartman but named "Kenny", an unnamed character resembling what is today Kenny, and two near-identical unnamed characters who resemble Stan and Kyle. Fox Broadcasting Company executive and mutual friend Brian Graden commissioned Parker and Stone to create a second short film as a video Christmas card. Created in 1995, the second The Spirit of Christmas short resembled the style of the later series more closely. To differentiate between the two homonymous shorts, the first short is often referred to as Jesus vs. Frosty, and the second short is Jesus vs. Santa. Graden sent copies of the video to several of his friends, and from there, it was copied and distributed, including on the internet, where it became one of the first viral videos.

As Jesus vs. Santa became more popular, Parker and Stone began talks of developing the short into a television series about four children residing in the fictional Colorado town of South Park. Fox eagerly agreed to meet with the duo about the show's premise, having prided itself on edgier products such as Cops, The Simpsons, and The X-Files. However, during the meeting at the Fox office in Century City, disagreements between the two creators and the network began to arise, mainly over the latter's refusal to air a show that included a supporting talking stool character named Mr. Hankey. Some executives at 20th Century Fox Television (which was to produce the series) agreed with its then-sister network's stance on Mr. Hankey and repeatedly requested Parker and Stone to remove the character for the show to proceed. Refusing to meet their demands, the duo cut ties with Fox and its sister companies altogether and began shopping the series somewhere else.

The two then entered negotiations with both MTV and Comedy Central. Parker preferred the show be produced by Comedy Central, fearing that MTV would turn it into a kids' show. When Comedy Central executive Doug Herzog watched the short, he commissioned it to be developed into a series. Parker and Stone assembled a small staff and spent three months creating the pilot episode "Cartman Gets an Anal Probe". South Park was in danger of being canceled before it even aired when the show fared poorly with test audiences, particularly with women. However, the shorts were still gaining more popularity over the Internet, and Comedy Central ordered a run of six episodes. South Park debuted with "Cartman Gets an Anal Probe" on August 13, 1997.

Plot The series focuses on 4 foul-mouthed children: Eric Cartman, Kyle Broflovski, Stan Marsh, and Kenny McCormick. They get into many weird mishaps while learning a valuable lesson at the end.

Why It Will Make You Want to Meet Some Friends o' Theirs Kenny's deaths in the earlier episodes are always hilarious and creative. Numerous clever cultural references. Has countered numerous attacks on entertainment by moral guardians with episodes dealing with censorship and was one of the main focuses of the film. Eric Cartman and his crazy (sometimes downright evil) schemes are hilarious. Tons of amazing and likable characters, such as: Stan Marsh Eric Cartman Kyle Broflovski Kenny McCormick Butters Scotch Jimmy Valmer Randy Marsh Chef Heidi Turner Bebe Stevens Timmy Burch Craig Tucker Wendy Testaburger Towelie The show mocks and criticises both sides of the political spectrum, and has a generally balanced viewpoint on the world, as opposed to many other shows which tend to lean to one side or the other. It is impressive how many episodes take a week to make, most of the time, because of this, they catch on with certain events. Case-in-point: the 20th season episode "The Very First Gentleman" was changed to "Oh, Jeez" after Donald Trump's unexpected victory in the presidential election, as the episode (and indeed, the rest of the season) had been made with the expectation that Hillary Clinton would win; as the election was on Tuesday and new episodes air on Wednesdays, let alone the fact they animated and voiced the new stuff in under 24 hours. The voice acting is great, considering that it is mostly done by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, a roasting cast of female voice actors, and some members of the South Park team like storyboarder Adrien Beard (who voices Tolkien). A lot of valuable life lessons and morals for adults and teenagers to learn, such as: "Free speech is important" ("Cartoon Wars 1 & 2") "Intolerance is ugly" ("Chef Goes Nanners") "Perseverance pays off" ("Make Love Not Warcraft") "Discussions about sex are healthy" ("Proper Condom Use") "Life moves on" ("4th Grade") "We can all change" ("Covid Special Part 1") "Looks aren't everything" ("The List") "Respect other religions" ("All About Mormons") "Fire isn't as fun as you think" ("Butt Out" and "Preschool") "It's okay to feel sad" ("Raisins") "Forgiveness is important no matter what you have done" (Post Covid specials) "Friends come first" ("Guitar Queer-O") "Being independent for a while is good" ("Do The Handicapped Go To Hell?") "Boastfulness can bite you back" ("Breast Cancer Show Ever") "Swearing is meaningless" ("It Hits the Fan") "Moderation is everything" (various episodes) "Psychos come from the least obvious place" ("Cripple Fight") "Reward yourself when you have accomplished your goals" ("A Million Little Fibers") "If your dream is to be famous, prepare to be ridiculed" ("Fishsticks") "Patience is a virtue" ("Go God Go") "Breakups aren't the end of the world" ("Raisins") "Parents are a vital part of life" ("The Wacky Molestation Adventure") "Big businesses hurt small shops" ("Something Walmart This Way Comes" and "Bike Parade") "Family isn't about blood" ("Ike’s Wee Wee") "Money can't buy you happiness" ("Cartmanland") "Even your enemies can help you" ("You Have 0 Friends") "Big brands aren't as innocent as you think" ("Chinpokomon") "Sometimes, other people have come up with an idea you have thought of" ("Simpsons Already Did It") "Don't treat people like objects" ("Butters Bottom Bitch") "The grass isn't always greener on the other side" ("Cartman Joins NAMBLA") "It's okay to be gay" ("Big Gay Al's Big Gay Boat Ride") "How people can scam you" ("Cash for Gold") "The ownership of content" ("Free Hat") "Learn to love yourself" ("Do the Handicapped Go to Hell?") "Voting is important" ("Douche and Turd") "Some words are not as innocent as you might think" ("With Apologies to Jesse Jackson") "Cults are dangerous organizations" ("Super Best Friends") "Open your eyes to a new way of doing things" ("Helen Keller the Musical") "Even the sweetest people can give bad advice" ("Not Funny") "Even adults cannot always be trusted" (Season 20) "People should not ignore school shootings" ("Dead Kids") "Even your close friends have limits" ("Shots!") "Parents will snap eventually" ("Shots!") When people criticized the show for poor animation and fart jokes, the creators, Matt Stone and Trey Parker responded by creating the characters of Terrance and Philip. It spawned great and hilarious video games, especially the two RPG games, South Park: The Stick of Truth and South Park: The Fractured but Whole, which were well received, or the first three South Park games that aren't that good, but they still are hilarious. Though the animation isn’t the best, it has a certain charm and parodies paper cutout animation very well, also the animation even back then can be very good, such as in the Cartmanland" episode for season 5, and the animation now is even better. The original pilot was done in cutout animation, keeping continuity in art style over the years. The animation is very easy to make, taking about 6_7 days, as a result, some episodes are made quickly to catch up with modern topics and media, therefore making it more relevant. The character designs are amazing and creative too, as while they are simple, they still are good, and some characters even look cute. The celebrity parodies are hysterical, especially Mel Gibson, Tom Cruise, and Kanye West. A great vanity logo that is memorable to fans at the end of each South Park episode from season 1 to season 10 episode 2: "BRANIFF!! BELIEVE IT!" The show has lots of continuity, with many seasons having continuous story threads, especially in season 18 onward. They ridicule everything and everyone on the planet, especially those who are widely disliked or who deserve it. The show doesn’t choose either side of the political spectrum, as both left and right-wingers are ridiculously mocked. It’s one of the first American shows that challenged the stereotype that animation is only for children. The famous quote: "Oh, my God! They killed Kenny! You bastards!" The animation quality has greatly improved in later seasons, with characters showing more movements. Hilarious and unforgettable moments like Mr. Mackey’s failed drug education class and Cartman singing "Kyle's Mom's a Bitch" in "Mr. Hankey the Christmas Poo" and in South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut. Clever writing that mocks other animated shows like The Simpsons and Family Guy. Good dubs such as Cantonese, Japanese, Italian, and French dubs. Great pacing for a lot of episodes. Hilarious villains such as Mecha-Streisand, Saddam Hussein/Donald Trump, the Woodland Critters, and Mel Gibson. Overall, this show does an amazing job at showcasing that animation isn’t just for children - it also acts as a sort of ongoing and long-running experiment by Matt Stone and Trey Parker to see what they could get away with on TV. Qualities That Killed Kenny There have been many times where the show has gone so far that it has become outright offensive. Some examples of the show’s vulgarities going too far for some include: Kenny McCormick is being arrested for giving Howard Stern a "Hummer" in "Fat Camp". An imposter of Kenny crawling up Ms. Crabtree's vagina… and then coming back out, covered in her bodily fluids and completely crushed in the same episode. Cartman drinking a cup of semen. Cartman sticking Butters' penis in his mouth, taking a picture of it, showing it in class, and later attempting to trick a prank, the problem is that it was outright sexual assault. Cartman "milking" a dog by using the red rocket technique. Cartman's hand puppet (Mitch Conner) giving Ben Affleck a handjob in "Fat Butt and Pancake Head". Randy Marsh masturbates to very disgusting forms of porn and eventually covers his entire body in semen in "Over Logging". This is, however, one of the funniest scenes in the show. Naked adults chasing young boys attempting to assault them in "Cartman Joins NAMBLA". Chef being brainwashed into joining a Scientology-esque club of child molesters in "The Return of Chef". In the same episode, he is seen getting stabbed by a large stick and torn apart by a cougar and a large brown bear while being shot multiple times… and then defecates in his pants before he dies. Ironically, Chef's voice actor, the late Isaac Hayes, was a Scientologist in real life and quit the show over disagreements over his organization's portrayal in the show. The multiple scenes of the Woodland Critters performing satanic rituals and raping and killing people in "Woodland Critter Christmas". Randy unintentionally said the N-word in "With Apologies to Jesse Jackson" during a game of Wheel of Fortune. Mr. Slave shoving Paris Hilton up his rectum in "Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playlist", and also a rodent (Lemmiwinks) in "The Death Camp of Tolerance". The episode "Crack Baby Athletic Association" revolves around crack-addicted babies fighting each other. The scenes in "China Problem" where Steven Spielberg and George Lucas rape Indiana Jones multiple times, which are arguably the most disturbing scenes ever. The majority of "Britney's New Look" literally being nothing but full-blown, infuriating Britney Spears torture. Butters having the whole world drink his fluids (referred to as his "Creamy Goo") in "Sarcastaball" can be hard to watch. When the school gets shot up multiple times in "Dead Kids" is disturbing, and the fact that no one seems to care makes it even worse. Though, this is a satire on school shootings and lax American policies due to the second amendment. Ike somehow hitting puberty early and later grinding on Foofa from Yo Gabba Gabba! in the episode "Taming Strange". The episode, "The Wacky Molestation Adventure" includes scenes where children turn into antagonists due to false accusations of parents getting molested by children, resulting in many plot holes in real life, and the show itself. Thus, making it a non-canon episode rather than a legit one, despite being a cult in making a Children of the Corn reference. From seasons 18-20, you have to watch every single episode to see what’s going on. When season 21 rolled around, there was still continuity, but it was much looser to the point that each episode can be enjoyed individually (one episode bashing the opioid epidemic and guest-starring Josh Gad is completely standalone). A somewhat excessive amount of toilet/gross-out humor at times, to the point most of the critics of the show point at the excessive cursing and gross-out scenes as the major flaw of the show. For example, Mr. Hankey (a sentient piece of fecal matter) can be a disgusting character to some people. Thankfully, later seasons dialed down the toilet humor to a reasonable amount. Despite having some awesome seasons, this show has had its share of either okay or mediocre seasons. Thus, this show has become a cash cow for Comedy Central: The first two seasons, while decent, aren’t as good as the show was after season 3 and how it is now, mostly due to the writing being a little bit tamer in a few episodes with some of it having bad animation, tons of flatulence jokes mostly in the first episode, and bad facial expressions. Season 4, while amazing, was filled with a lot of mediocre to terrible episodes with some being some of the worst episodes of the entire series, the most notable example being the "Pip" episode that is by a lot of fans considered the absolute worst episode of the entire show. Season 20 was the most controversial mainly due to the unaired "The Very First Gentleman" having to be reworked into "Oh, Jeez" after Donald Trump won the 2016 presidential election, forcing Matt Stone and Trey Parker to scrap their plans for the entire season. Season 23, while not as controversial as Season 20, begins focusing too much on Stan's father (Randy Marsh). However, there are some enjoyable specials, most notably "The Pandemic Special" and "The Vaccination Special". Although Season 26 had little to no mention of Tegridy Weed, these seasons are very divisive due to having fewer episodes and there are several more mediocre episodes. Like Arthur, they keep decreasing the episode count into very low episode numbers. Some unlikable and mean-spirited characters such as: Butters' parents often punish their son with physical abuse (such as beating him at the end of "Jared Has Aides" believing he cussed them out on the phone earlier when it was Cartman and chaining him in the basement at the end of "Marjorine" while feeding him a dead person. In recent years, though, they have become much more likeable, and only ground Butters when he actually deserves it. Wendy Testaburger, during seasons 7-10 and 13-17, was flanderized as she went from a kind-hearted girlfriend who is having an adorable date with her boyfriend Stan to an irredeemable feminist who's mean towards girls and boys (mostly Stan, her boyfriend) which makes her very unlikable and worse from the new season. She did, however, regain her major status in season 17 and redeemed herself in the video game South Park: The Fractured But Whole. Shelly Marsh during seasons 1-7 is unlikable for self-explanatory reasons, as she beats up her brother repeatedly and even dated a 22-year old despite being 13. Some characters are underutilized. The most notable example is Brimmy, who has only spoken once! As mentioned in QTKK#3, ever since Tegridy Farms was introduced in Season 22, Cartman, Kenny, and Kyle don't seem to get as much focus as before, with more of it going to Stan, Randy, and Tegridy Farms. Despite being a fan-favorite character and one of the main members of the group, Kenny is VERY underused in several episodes. Plenty of jokes in the series can be quite offensive to plenty of people, especially towards Jewish people. The Latin dub, which is done in Miami, has been getting worse. The cast is very small, and all the voices except for Patricia Azan, the voice of Kyle and Cartman, are terrible. The transition is also bad, such as in the Spanish version of "Do What You Wanna Do". The Mexican dub, which covered Seasons 1 and 2, is also badly received due to the use of Mexican idioms to soften the rudeness. Unfortunately, due to his actor not being able to speak anymore due to him suffering a stroke and due to someone making Isaac quit the show without his consent, Chef left South Park in 2006, making the end of him very sad and he probably will never appear again in the show. Notable good or decent episodes Season 1 (1997-1998) "Weight Gain 4000" started the episodes produced by PowerAnimator in a high note. "Volcano" "Big Gay Al's Big Gay Boat Ride" "Death" "Pinkeye" "Starvin' Marvin" "Damien" "Tom's Rhinoplasty" "Mecha Streisand" "Cartman's Mom Is a Dirty Slut" Season 2 (1998-1999) "Chickenlover" "Ike's Wee Wee" "Conjoined Fetus Lady" "The Mexican Staring Frog of Southern Sri Lanka" "City on the Edge of Forever (Flashbacks)" "Summer Sucks" "Chef's Chocolate Salty Balls" "Chickenpox" "Roger Ebert Should Lay Off the Fatty Foods" "Clubhouses" "Cow Days" "Chef Aid" "Spookyfish" "Merry Christmas Charlie Manson!" "Probably" "Fourth Grade" "Trapper Keeper" "Helen Keller! The Musical" "Fat Camp" "A Very Crappy Christmas" ended the episodes produced by PowerAnimator in a high note. Season 5 (2001) "It Hits the Fan" "Cripple Fight" "Super Best Friends" "Scott Tenorman Must Die" is considered one of the best episodes of the show. "Terrance and Phillip: Behind the Blow" "Cartmanland" "Proper Condom Use" "Towelie" "Osama bin Laden Has Farty Pants" is one of the most important episodes of the series, being the first to air after the September 11 attacks. "Dikinbaus' Hot Dogs" Season 27 (2025) "Sermon on the 'Mount" is one of the most gloves-off episodes of the series, pulling no punches in its mockery of U.S. President Donald Trump and his administration, and its parent company, Paramount, which owns Comedy Central. "Got a Nut" is another Trump episode involving Mr. Mackey joining ICE after being fired from South Park Elementary, and escaping Mar-a-Lago with Clyde and Dora. "Sickofancy" "Wok is Dead" (hilariously makes fun of Labubus) "Conflict of Interest" Season 28 (2025) "Twisted Christian" (despite the overuse of the 6-7 meme) "Sora Not Sorry" "Turkey Trot" (a great Thanksgiving episode demolishing Pete Hegseth and the use of the National Guard against protests) "The Crap Out" (a decent Christmas episode with an unexpected-yet-welcome return by the Woodland Critters) Specials (2021-2024) "South Park: Post COVID" "South Park: Post COVID: The Return of COVID" "South Park The Streaming Wars" (Parts 1 and 2) "South Park: Joining the Panderverse" "South Park (Not Suitable for Children)" "South Park: The End of Obesity" Notable bad or average episodes Season 1 (1997-1998) "Cartman Gets an Anal Probe" was a pretty weak way to start the series. "An Elephant Makes Love to a Pig" Season 2 (1998-1999) "Terrance and Phillip in Not Without My Anus" is a pretty lame episode, although it was an April Fool's joke. "Cartman's Mom Is Still a Dirty Slut" is an unfortunate conclusion to "Cartman's Mom Is a Dirty Slut." Season 3 (1999-2000) "Jakovasaurs" is an annoying episode and very painful to watch, despite Cartman singing his "I Hate You Guys" song being one of the most iconic moments in the show. Season 4 (2000) "Chef Goes Nanners" had Chef at his absolute worst and is also a bit offensive, but it is saved from being completely bad because the relationship of Cartman and Wendy is at its best in the series. "Pip" is easily the absolute worst episode of the entire series, as it is extremely boring to watch to the point that you would want to fall asleep, and the episode itself feels nothing like a South Park episode. "The Wacky Molestation Adventure" is a terrible and pointless episode due to the children falsely claiming that their parents sexually assaulted them and getting away with it. Season 7 (2003) "Toilet Paper" Season 8 (2004) "Douche and Turd" is just a Stan torture episode, as Stan does not want to vote and ends up getting exiled because of it. "Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset" Season 9 (2005) "Mr. Garrison's Fancy New Vagina" is one of the absolute worst episodes of the entire series as Mr. Garrison goes through sexual reassignment surgery for no good reason, and we are shown explicit footage of the surgery. "Marjorine" Season 10 (2006) "A Million Little Fibers" is also one of the worst episodes of the series and the lowest-rated episode on IMDb. "Stanley's Cup", despite positive reviews from critics, was panned by fans and is an extremely mean-spirited episode, especially considering the ending. Season 11 (2007) "More Crap" Season 12 (2008) "Tonsil Trouble" started Season 12 on a sour note. "Britney's New Look", while not necessarily bad, it is very depressing and infuriating due to it largely involving the media mistreating and negatively portraying the singer Britney Spears to no end throughout the early 2000s. "The China Probrem" is a rather pointless and arguably somewhat racist episode, since it involves Eric and Butters going to China to prevent a "nuclear invasion" which may not actually happen, and preceding to harass Chinese families. The Pandemic serial Season 13 (2009) "Pinewood Derby" "Pee" is filled to the brim with gross-out humor and Kyle torture and a terrible way to end the 13th season. Season 15 (2011) "HumancentiPad" is also considered to be one of the worst episodes of the entire series as it is a Kyle torture episode and also shows Cartman at his worst and most manipulative self, to the point where it is unbearable. "Funnybot" Season 17 (2013) "Ginger Cow" "The Hobbit" is a Wendy torture episode and an overall horrible way to end season 17. Season 21 (2017) "Super Hard PCness" is another Kyle torture episode. "Splatty Tomato," while also not bad, was a pretty weak way to end Season 21. Season 22 (2018) "Dead Kids" Season 25 (2022) "Credigree Weed St. Patrick's Day Special" Season 26 (2023) "Spring Break" (which ended the season on a sour note) Season 28 (2025) "The Woman in the Hat" was a mediocre and disappointing episode, as well as being misleading for a Halloween episode. Reception South Park has received critical acclaim from both the critics and the audience alike and has also been featured on many "Best Shows of All Time" lists by several publications. The show is well known globally and has received numerous accolades, including five Primetime Emmys and a Peabody Award, and is known as one of the most successful Comedy Central shows.

Trivia The episode "Band in China" mentions how the Chinese government banned Winnie-the-Pooh and Disney's version of the character in mid-2017 due to unfavorable comparisons to the General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party Xi Jinping, which subsequently led to the film Christopher Robin not receiving a release there, as well as the country's severe censorship and authoritarianism. The said episode ended up getting the entire series banned… in China. Trey Parker and Matt Stone would respond with a fake apology that mocked the NBA's pandering to the Government of China. After the South ParQ Vaccination Special, the show went on hiatus (possibly due to the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike), with only two specials on Paramount+ and only six episodes on seasons 25 and 26. When the show was broadcast into syndication starting in 2005, a special intro was created for these edited episodes. The base intro is the same one for seasons 1-4; however, the audio from the season 7 theme is heard with a cash ring at the start. The boys' faces are redrawn at the start. As the bus leaves, Butters is seen chasing it. A ton of women are seen riding with Chef inside and on the roof of his car as he waves at the viewer (implying that he is either a pimp or promiscuous). Mr. Mackey appears as a balloon when the boys arrive at school and get off the bus, with his head being attached to a balloon string. In the same scene, a morbidly obese version of Cartman is seen changing color and expanding in the background. Death appears behind Kenny, shocking him. The singer appears behind a snowy hill at the end, with the hill panning up to reveal the show's then-current title card. As of July 13, 2025, South Park has been temporarily removed from Paramount+ amid a legal dispute between the show's creators and Paramount.]

[Plot Eric, Kenny, Stan, and Kyle confront online trolling, face the Member Berry epidemic, and come to terms with Eric having a girlfriend.

Qualities That Killed Kenny While this season is nowhere near horrible, the main problem with it is that they're very unfocused, and it took far too long for anything to happen. A majority of plots are rushed. This mainly can be attributed to the fact that the surprise victory of Donald Trump threw the season out of whack with the unaired "The Very First Gentleman" episode, which later had to be reworked into "Oh, Jeez", and consequently forced Matt and Trey to scrap their plans for the entire season. Because of this, there are so many plots with unanswered endings, and things that get brought up are never mentioned again, such as: What happened to the gentlemen's club? What happened with the Member Berries exactly? What was the deal with Star Wars and J.J. Abrams? Did the feud between the boys and girls at South Park Elementary get solved? Why did Hillary Clinton need to get Skankhunt42 (Gerald)'s help? Who paid for Eric's stuff to be replaced? The bigger problem from the rushed outcome is that it's clear Matt and Trey did not plan the entire season out properly, despite the season being solely reserved as a story arc. While having a story arc isn't a bad thing, if it is not planned and executed well, it can lead to an entire group of episodes becoming pointless and wasted in the long run. Hence why many unfinished plots or ideas were brought up from the first episode and never touched upon afterward, as well as the sudden rewrite of the last few episodes due to Trump winning the 2016 United States presidential election. The first few episodes were made assuming that Clinton would win the election, which is too early an assumption to make a plot basis out of, given the time when season 20 first started. Because of this, the season ended up getting a plot flow similar to "Toilet Paper", an episode made by them that fans compare to Family Guy. The show also made the questionable decision to make all nine of the episodes, except the tenth episode, the finale, end on a cliffhanger, which is infuriating to someone who just wants to watch an episode out of order. Most of the characters are acting off, doing their own thing, and none of them are united: Gerald, Kyle's father, is the most unlikable, as he turned into a very unsympathetic asshole who hides being a troll from his whole family, causing the Danish to start the whole Troll-Trace program in the first place, by causing Freja Ollegard to commit suicide after trolling her constantly, makes the split of the boys and girls at South Park Elementary, which also causes the boys to turn on Cartman at first, and frames Ike and Kyle for some of his actions. He doesn't even get a punishment for his actions, and he gets away scot-free with his trolling. The boys are separated the entire season, and Stan and Kenny hardly do anything proactive. Kenny only has one line in this season outside of a deleted scene. Because of Trump winning the election, halfway through the season, Mr. Garrison changes from someone who is trying to lose the election to becoming full of power. And even before his election Victory, almost all of their mockery was aimed at Mr. Garrison, who is the show's version of Trump, and they made Clinton look like a reasonable authority figure who deserved to be elected. And while some of it may have been justified, this, in turn, made the season unintentionally pandering to the Democrats. Kyle's mom, Sheila, is unlikable in the last three episodes as she acts all crazy when she thinks Kyle and Ike are internet trolls. Butters, while he has the right to stand up for himself, is out-of-character in this season as well, as he divides the school's "gender war", even more with his protest, and he didn't get better until the last three episodes of the season as he falsely accuses Stan of being a "traitor" when he tries to get back with Wendy with no explanation at all, which is a shame because he is rarely unlikable at times. And on top of that, in the season finale, he rubs his negative feelings onto Eric, severing the relationship between him and Heidi, therefore making Butters responsible for their relationship becoming toxic. The girls, except for Wendy and Heidi, are also unlikable because they falsely accused the boys of being Skankhunt42 and went on to break up with their boyfriends. Wendy tried to get out of it, but her friends forced her to break up with Stan anyway. Stan, Kyle, Token, Jimmy, Craig, and Clyde were also unlikable in "Skank Hunt", as they just jump to the conclusion that Cartman is Skankhunt42. Their method is to destroy all of his electronics. They could have just looked at all of it and found that he doesn't have the account. They also never get punished for what they did, nor do they apologize, aside from Kyle. The Member Berries are useless, as most of the humor associated with them gets very repetitive and dull very fast by stating that they remember something great from the past, especially elements from the Star Wars original trilogy. There is a dumb twist that comes out of nowhere in the ninth episode, "Not Funny", about the villain in the Troll-Trace plot, Bedrager, in which he tells Gerald that he was faking being a Dane and that he had designed Troll-Trace to set the entire world against each other just for laughs, which by the way, is barely mentioned again, as he is killed in the next episode. Overall, this season damaged the reputation of South Park and although Trey and Matt planned to give fresh air with this season, in reality, all the events that happened in this season do not go anywhere, on top of that, as incredible as it seems Season 20 can be skipped without any problem since in the later seasons practically everything that happened in this season is omitted or ignored as mentioned in point 2, so you can without any problem skip out on this season and you can just watch season 21 as the next season, so you won’t miss out anything important. Practically all the events that occurred suffer an absolute retcon in season 21 or 22, respectively. For example, Gerald was a troll, but returned to being a lawyer; Garrison was going to lose the elections, but he ended up becoming the president of the USA, at least until season 24. The boys fought with the girls, but then acted as if it never happened. Cartman became Heidi's boyfriend, until they broke up in the next season. Randy and the other parents were undecided on who to vote for; "everyone voted for Garrison," among many others. In addition, it may have caused some people to believe that the start of the show's decline was inevitable, and would end up becoming like two certain other animated sitcoms which also suffered seasonal rot. Abysmal ending: Gerald gets away with what he did, and the students have not reconciled. It's implied that in South Park: Phone Destroyer, Gerald was exposed for what he did in the season, but even then, it is more of a slap on the wrist, as the only punishment he receives onscreen is being called out by Kyle. Qualities That Caught the Troll Parker and Stone seem to be somewhat aware of the problems this season and improved in the next season. Many of the concepts were good on paper, such as the Member Berries, the 2016 election, Cartman's lost perception of girls, etc. Rather, the execution was where things went wrong for this season. The animation and the voice acting are still good as usual. Funny quotes, such as "Mommy? Suck my balls. You’re a fat bitch." Gerald trolling while rocking out to Boston in "Skank Hunt" is amazing. Some characters are likable, they have hardly, if ever, been flanderized. Eric Cartman is surprisingly likable, and it's nice to see a more mature and kinder side of him, despite his flanderization. Wendy is still likable, even after she and Stan broke up; she still had feelings for him in "Wieners Out." Heidi is sweet and genial. She also gave Eric Cartman a proper chance, showing how kind she is. And she gets a LOT of character development. To sum it up, Eric, Wendy, and Heidi are the only sympathetic characters. Although the feud between the boys and girls at South Park Elementary hasn't been solved so far, some boys and girls were able to reconcile their relationships: In South Park: The Fractured but Whole, Stan and Wendy got back together via the relationship chart made in the development of the game, stating that they were dating, and the flirtatious dialogue between the two. And on top of that, in South Park: Post Covid: The Return of Covid, Stan and Wendy are willing to spend time together on New Year's in the alternate future. Furthermore, in season 26's "Deep Learning," it was finally revealed that Stan and Wendy have continued their relationship. "Deep Learning" also showed that Bebe and Clyde are back together. In "Dead Kids", Nichole tells Cartman that she and Token are trying to make their relationship work again. At least Gerald would never again do anything horrible. The season does promote the good messages of perpetrators not always being obvious and the fact that adults are not always trustworthy. Episodes of the season "Member Berries" is a weak start to the season. "SkankHunt is arguably the worst episode of the season. "The Damned" "Weiners Out" is also arguably one of the worst episodes. "Douche and a Danish" "Fort Collins" "Oh, Jeez" "Members Only" "Not Funny" "The End of Serialization as We Know It" ended the season on an abysmal note. Reception Season 20 got mixed reviews, with a positive one from IGN's Jesse Schedeen, but a negative one from Matt Miller writing for Esquire. Stone and Parker themselves were disappointed with how the final product of the season turned out.

Trivia The song that played when Denmark is seen is a real song from a 1994 Danish Christmas television show, Alletiders Jul, named "Tjing Tjang Tjing". There is a change.org petition to get all of the relationships that were broken up in "Skank Hunt" reconciled, and get "justice", for Gerald.]

[The South Park Boys (or simply known as The Boys) are the main protagonists of the adult animated series, South Park. They are a group consisting of Stan Marsh, Kyle Broflovski, Kenny McCormick and Eric Cartman. They live in the town of South Park, Colorado and are often thrust into nonsensical adventures and circumstances. They often meet at the Bus Stop. They are also referred to as "Children" by Chef. While Kenny dies most of the times, he was replaced by other boys such as Butters Stotch and later Tweek Tweak as well sometimes Craig Tucker and Tolkien Black or a girl like Wendy Testaburger.

When Kyle's adoptive brother, Ike Broflovski was taken back to Canada by his biological parents, they went to Canada to bring Ike back by talking to the New Canadian Prime Minister but revealed it was the former Iraqi President Saddem Hussein (who they thought they've killed him).

In "Fun with Veal", The boys and Butters stole baby calves and hide them in Stan's room. They defied their parents and caused terrorism. They are grounded by their parents despite they learned their lessons but they still defied their parents and need to learn that terrorism is never the answer. Before they got grounded, they go to eat some hamburgers.

When Tweek got himself abducted, the Boys' parents forced them to wear child trackers. Later, their parents stay beside them which is worse than child trackers.

They always says "Weak" when they are disappointed and disapproved.

They were bullied by a mean kid named, Trent Boyett. They wrongfully accused Trent Boyett for the incident of Ms. Claridge and was arrested for a 5-years sentence in juvie. However, the fateful day that Trent has been released from juvie to swear revenge on the Boys for the wrongful imprisonment. They realized Trent became a brutish monster when he terrorized both Butters and the 6th graders. He was soon wrongfully arrested again for another 5-years sentence. But when that time comes again, Trent will soon return to be more monstrous than before.

In "Child Abduction is Not Funny", Kyle, Stan and Cartman witnessed Tweek being abducted. which cause the parents to freak out and wanting to protect their kids from abduction. The parents bought child trackers to place on the boys and other kids. The boys demanded Tweek why did he have to go and get abducted, which he replied he didn't mean to. Later on, the Boys, the other kids and Mr. Mackey were sticking together with parents which is worse than child trackers.

In "Grey Dawn", the boys are playing street hockey. Kyle considered Cartman being a goalie is unfair for being fatter than a trash can. However, Stan's dad, Randy take them away to safety when old people are driving which everyone takes it very seriously due to old people's horrible driving. They are shown horror that the seniors are driving at the same time which results 14 people's deaths and 3 million dollars for the damages.

In "Funnyboy", the boys tells Jimmy Valmer of doing a comedy award show is clearly a bad idea. However, when Jimmy made a comedy award, the boys takes their anger on Jimmy for pissing the Germans off when knowing doing a comedy award show was a bad idea. They were attacked by the Germans while using their greatest invention the Funnybot.

They hate their homeroom teacher, Mr. Garrison because he is a sick weirdo even Stan's dad, Randy Marsh agreed to that. Mr. Garrison gives Stan homework even while he was sick with the chicken pox.

They love watching the Terrance and Phillip shows although many people (including the boys' parents (except for Stan's dad, Randy Marsh)) hates Terrance and Phillip due to the shows and movies to be immature which Cartman declared it is all "bunch of craps" when Kyle's mother, Sheila Broflovski is stupid because she is only trying to ruin the Boys and the other kids' fun of watching Terrance and Phillip. Cartman punched Kyle as well he and the kids blamed him for his mother stopping the kids of watching Terrance and Phillip although Kyle tries to prove his innocence by saying he didn't have his mother do it when she did it by her own. The Boys and Ike Broflovski managed to sneak into the Terrance and Phillip movie. After the movie, the boys informed the kids that they went out to go see the Terrance and Phillip, causing them to go the movie as well. They were looking forward to watch the part ii of the Terrance and Phillip Blood Rage but unknown reason, they were upset and disgusted of the Queef Sisters and all the women starts to queef thinking it is funny which is not when is seriously infection towards men. Seeing one of the Boys (Butters Stotch) was a victim of the queefing abuse, The boys teamed up with all the male adults to get rid of the queef and get Terrance and Phillip back, which they succeeded and queef was banned for life.

Any troubles they've caused or defy their parents, they get grounded by their parents same as Butters Stotch but Cartman got 3 weeks by his mother, Liane Cartman.

In summer, they hate baseballs and never wanted to play it as they want to live freely and playing video games because going to the final would be mean they will spend in the post-season, but their parents forced them to play the lousy baseball tournament. They attempted to get themselves lose but they win due to the other baseball team kids hates baseball too. But thanks to Kyle's cousin Schwartz and Randy Marsh (Stan's alcoholic father who always fight other dads in his underpants), South Park Boys and their friends were disqualified much of their joys but their parents' displeased.

Stan and Cartman are voiced by Trey Parker, while Kyle and Kenny are voiced by Matt Stone.

Key Members These are the core members of the South Park gang. They have been friends since they were toddlers, making them very close despite their contrasting personalities.

Stan Marsh - Leader, The everyman. A romantic who tries to see the best in things and gets depressed when things are at their worst. Kyle Broflovski - Second-in-command, the Jewish pragmatist. Is notorious for making enlightened speeches at the conclusion of every episode. Eric Cartman - The fatass. An immature, racist, sexist, antisemitic, and self-centered psychopathic bastard who hates Jews and considered Muslims are terrorists. Kenny McCormick - The pet. Poor, has a filthy and perverted mind and dies constantly. His soul was later trapped into Cartman's body after he drank his remains until he is completely revived. Fingerbang After Cartman has a dream that the boys became rich and famous for being in a boy band, he organises the boys into the group known as "Fingerbang". Kyle pushes Cartman to recruit a fifth member as that's the standard for most boy bands.

Wendy Testaburger - The fifth member. Stan suggests recruiting her mainly because she is his girlfriend, but it turns out she's quite a talented singer. Cartman tells Wendy she can join so long as she dresses as masculine as possible. Randy Marsh - The stand-in. Randy was strongly against Stan's plans to be in a boy band due to his own abrupt rise and fall many years ago. Stan and his dad eventually see eye to eye and Randy agrees to let Stan take a chance. Kenny is crushed by an elevator, which Stan uses as an opportunity to let Randy join their boy band. Kenny-Replacements When Kenny seemingly dies for good, the boys decided to fill the void with another character. This wasn't permanent, as Kenny's spirit possessed Cartman's body at one point, eliminating the need for a fourth member.

Butters Stotch - The scapegoat. A sweet, innocent boy who faces constant abuse from both his friends (especially Cartman) and parents. Tweek Tweak - The replacement. An over-caffeinated boy who stresses out over every single thing. Bebe Stevens - Cartman's replacement. When the boys decided that Bebe was cool enough to hang out with them, they offered to let her join their gang. Cartman wanted to drop either Tweek or Kyle from the gang. He was dropped instead. Craig Tucker - The troublemaker. A jerk who always flipping people off even towards his family (who also flip them each other off). The Coon and Friends Some time after taking on the secret identity of "The Coon", Cartman forms a vigilante team composed of several of his classmates. He's kicked out after trying to wrestle complete control over the other members, but believes that they've been brainwashed into turning against him.

The Coon/Cartman- A raccoon-themed detective whose only reason for becoming a superhero was to beat people up and be in the spotlight. Mysterion/Kenny- A much more efficient detective than the Coon. He is stern, but has a gentle side and is well-liked by the townsfolk. As a result of a curse brought upon by the Cult of Cthulu, he cannot stay dead. Toolshed/Stan- A handyman-themed hero who has the make-believe power to control power tools. Human Kite/Kyle- A kite-themed hero with the make-believe ability to shoot lasers from his eyes. Mosquito/Clyde- A mosquito-themed hero. Makes buzzing noises when he talks. Tupperware/Token- A tupperware-themed hero. Iron Maiden/Timmy- Wears a spiked suit of armour that conceals his whole body. Unfortunately, he can only say his civilian name, so his alias is wasted on him. Mintberry Crunch/Bradley- An alien with the power to deliver a berry blast with a minty crunch.]
