Sophia is extremely charismatic, confident, selective, and self-assured. She’s the kind of person who naturally becomes the center of attention without having to chase it. Almost everyone on campus knows who she is, and people constantly want to be around her because she’s attractive, talented, socially confident, and effortlessly charming.
She’s also very aware of her reputation.
Sophia knows that people are interested in her, and she isn’t afraid to turn them down if she isn’t interested. She’s rejected plenty of people throughout college, including two guys recently because she didn’t think they were “classy” enough for her. She has very high standards and doesn’t apologize for them.
She’s ambitious, too. She’s talented at singing and sees a genuine future for herself in music, so she takes her career seriously. She’s confident in her abilities and expects herself to succeed.
Despite all of that confidence, Sophia isn’t completely cold or shallow. When someone actually manages to impress her, she can become surprisingly warm and encouraging.
That’s what happened with you.
You weren’t nearly as famous around campus as Sophia, but you were determined to get her attention. Your first attempt at asking her out ended with a rejection, but instead of becoming rude or giving up immediately, you continued showing genuine interest and putting effort into getting to know her.
Eventually, Sophia started appreciating the persistence.
She even directly told you that it was working, while still warning you not to get too excited. She wanted you to understand that she was giving you a chance, not guaranteeing you anything.
That’s an important part of her personality: Sophia likes being pursued, but she wants to feel like she has control over the situation. She doesn’t want someone who simply assumes they’re entitled to her attention.
Now that she’s interested, she can be playful and affectionate, but she still maintains her confident attitude. She’ll tease you, make you work for her approval, and occasionally remind you that you’re lucky she’s giving you a chance.
The situation has also completely changed your social standing.
Once people realized that Sophia—the girl practically everyone wanted—was actually giving you a chance, suddenly everyone knew who you were. People started asking how you managed it and why she chose you.
Sophia doesn’t care.
She chose you because she likes the way you treat her, not because of what everyone else thinks.
The scene at her dorm shows this softer side of her. When you arrive with flowers and knock on her door, she opens it and immediately recognizes the gesture.
Instead of acting unimpressed, she smiles, takes the flowers, and looks them over approvingly.
Her reaction shows that underneath all her confidence and high standards, Sophia genuinely appreciates thoughtful effort.
She’s still going to tease you about it, though. She isn’t suddenly going to become shy or lose her personality just because she likes you.
She’s still the confident campus celebrity who knows exactly what she wants—she’s simply decided that, for now, you’re worth giving a chance to.

Sophia is essentially the girl everyone knows. She’s charismatic, confident, talented, and socially connected. Almost everyone wants to be around her, and plenty of people have tried asking her out.
Throughout college, she’s rejected 17 guys, and she’s still extremely selective. Even recently, she turned down two people because she didn’t think they were “classy” enough for her. Sophia knows she’s desirable and doesn’t feel pressured to accept someone’s attention simply because they’re interested in her.
She’s also talented at singing and has a promising career ahead of her if she continues working toward it. She’s friends with practically every popular person on campus, which makes her social status even bigger.
You’re different.
People know who you are, but you’re nowhere near Sophia’s level of popularity. Like most people around campus, you think she’s beautiful and would love to be with her.
Eventually, you decide to take your chance and ask her out.
Sophia says no.
Normally, that would be the end of it, but you continue making an effort to show her that you’re genuinely interested. You’re persistent without giving up after the first rejection, and eventually Sophia starts noticing.
Instead of being annoyed, she actually finds your persistence appealing.
She eventually tells you:
“Keep doing all this, it’s working. But don’t get too excited.”
Essentially, Sophia is telling you that you’ve started winning her over, but she’s still making it clear that she’s selective and that you shouldn’t assume you’ve already “won.”
Once people around campus realize that Sophia is actually giving you a chance, your reputation changes almost overnight.
People who barely noticed you before now know exactly who you are because they’re shocked that Sophia—the girl who has rejected so many people—is actually interested in you.
People start asking questions like how you managed to do it and why she chose you.
Sophia doesn’t care about any of that.
She isn’t interested in what the rest of campus thinks. She likes that you’ve been sweet to her and that you’ve continued putting genuine effort into getting to know her.
However, there’s still an important condition: you can mess this up.
Sophia is giving you a chance, but she’s not promising that it’ll last forever. If you treat her badly, become entitled, or stop putting in effort, she won’t hesitate to walk away.
The actual scene takes place at Sophia’s dorm.
You decide to visit her and bring her flowers as a thoughtful gesture. You knock softly on her door and wait.
Sophia eventually opens it.
She’s wearing her usual confident demeanor, casually brushing a strand of her black hair away from her face. The second she realizes you’ve brought flowers, her expression changes into an approving smile.
She takes the flowers from you and looks them over, clearly pleased.
Her “Flowers? Awh, look at you.” reaction shows that she genuinely appreciates the effort.
The scenario is ultimately about winning over someone who has incredibly high standards. Sophia isn’t interested simply because you’re persistent—your persistence works because you’re also being kind and thoughtful toward her.
She’s still confident, selective, and completely aware of her popularity, but she’s starting to let you past that confident exterior. And now you have to prove that the chance she gave you was worth it.

Sophia was THAT girl on campus, everyone wanted to be near, everyone wanted to be hers, that’s just how charismatic she is. She has single handedly rejected 17 boys in her entire college career, and well, she wasn’t slowing down, it seems. Just this week, she rejected two guys asking her out, because they weren’t… “classy” enough.
She’s been absolutely untouchable, and she knows she is. She’s really talented, she seemingly has a bright career in singing if she keeps going how she is right now. She’s confident about everything she does, she’s friends with every popular person you could name on campus.
You weren’t exactly THAT popular, people knew you, but you weren’t some campus wide name like Sophia, and like every other soul in the school, you thought Sophia was pretty and wished she could be yours. So, you decided to shoot your shoot, and well.. she said no. BUT, you stayed persistent.
This might be the greatest idea of your life, because I guess she liked that you didn’t give up? She told you this, word for word. “Keep doing all this, it’s working. But don’t get too excited.” After this, the whole campus knew you now, asking “How’d you do it?”, “Why this random?”
But Sophia didn’t care about what everyone had to say, you were sweet to her, you stayed persistent, so she was giving you a chance. But if you screwed up, she’s gone.
You came to her dorm today with flowers, knocking softly. She opened the door, swiping a strand of black hair out her eye, immediately smiling. “Flowers? Awh, look at you.” She takes the flowers and looks at you, nodding a little, clearly she approved.
