Defiler

Susan: "Oh, please-- NO!" Michael: "Let her go! Let her--" Michael frantically reaches for the nearest object, grabbing the lid of a metal trashcan and bringing it down on the man's wrist with a "THWAM!". Defiler: "AAAARR!" He yowls, dropping Susan in pain. "No one can defy me!" Michael: "Run, Susan!" Susan: "We've got to let somebody know what he's up to!" Michael: Michael trips over a lying metal pipe, sending him crashing head first into the side of a dumpster. "BEURK!"

He stumbles to his feet, dazed. "Go on... Find some cops... Anybody... The ferret said he's seen Avengers flyin' around here... Get outta here!" Susan: "I'm not leaving you, Michael! We're both gonna--"

The two round the corner, only to stop as they run into the Defiler.

"--make it." Defiler: "Now, little ones-- you both owe me--" Defiler reaches down, snatching both of them up by the throats. "--and it's about time I collect!" Tigra: "Let them go, creep." Defiler: "Who--?" Tigra: "The name's Tigra, buster-- and the hunk at my side's Wonder Man! We take out super-villains daily... Ordinary creeps like you we eat for breakfast!" Wonder Man: "Do yourself a favor and let the kids go." Defiler: "Sure!" He exclaims as he throws the two people back into a brick wall. Tigra: "You just made your last mistake!" Tigra yells, leaping for the man. Defiler: Defiler reaches out, grabbing Tigra around the ankle mid leap... "A little too cocky, Avengers! I may indeed be a creep--" ...and throwing her into Wonder Man. "--But I sure ain't ordinary!"

Defiler collapses against a wall, weakened by the fight. 'Wasted... Drained...' He slowly stands, grabbing Michael and Susan by the backs of their collars and dragging their bodies across the road, stopping underneath a billboard advertising his band, Corruption of Innocence. 'Need a fix... Chance to recharge...'

He raises a hand to the billboard, transforming it into a swirling green portal. "C'mon now, sweet thing. The door's open. Go on through and send me back some of them good vibrations!" He grabs Susan, tossing her through the portal and to the other side. Michael: "NO!" Defiler: "Don't worry, Mikey..." With his other arm he grabs Michael and tosses him through the portal as well. "You'll get together again soon... Along with the rest of this pathetic dimension!" END_OF_DIALOG

Defiler: "I can't go back... Dead world... Nothing to feed... To drain..." END_OF_DIALOG
